He kicked himself for not coming to this sooner. After everything that had happened, with his transformation on Namek and the like, he should have gone to see her when he first returned to Earth. After all, the girl had been through so much, and needed her friends and support. Plus, it was just nice to go and pay your friends a visit. Though, tracking down Belle had proven a bit more difficult than Ochra would have predicted. He had checked South City, but to no avail. Where had she gone? He had searched all over the planet, before he got wind of a ship somewhere in the mountains.
It had been a long shot, but it had, oddly enough, paid off. as he got closer to the ship, he could sense her. It was a lot stronger than it used to be, but it was her. She had really gone up in the world since they last met. Had she been training? Perhaps she had taken his words to heart, and was trying to better herself. He approached the ship, curious to see how she was doing.
Belle was… feeling mixed up. After Aurora had asked her to help, she wasn’t so sure what to do. She hadn’t gone to Tarch or Chromo with her concerns because she was trying to rattle them out on her own. After doing the tiniest bit of research into what had happened on Arcose, Belle had learned a lot. Most of it was pretty disturbing. Mister Aizu, who had helped her escape the planet after Mister Lord Chill’s death, had tried to blow it up. Belle actually was really fond of Arcose, so this revelation sort of upset her. What bothered her more, however, was that the Saiyan Kingdom had taken it upon themselves to govern Arcose in the void that Mister Lord Chill had left behind.
A mix of unpleasant emotions bubbled up inside of her as she violently tossed a metal training ball around the room under the constant influence of gravity. Training like this let her think more clearly. With a wince, Belle wiped away some blood from her nose as she picked up the other two balls and made them all spin and clash together, preventing them from denting the walls of the room. It was a real hassle, and she was getting a bit of a headache from it.
Belle had gone on to read more about the funeral that had been held for Mister Lord Chill, and how it had been turned into a rally for the disbanding of the Fleet. Belle didn’t care one way or the other about the Fleet. They had done a lot of bad things, so it was probably for the best that they were gone. But… Belle hadn’t been there for the funeral. Worse yet, she hadn’t been there to stop it from turning into what it had. Belle felt a little angry with Mister Aizu. But she supposed it didn’t matter anymore. He was dead according to the reports. Arcose was safe. Mister Lord Chill and her Uncle’s resting places were safe. She could still visit them. Well, maybe not.
Apparently, Miss Nashua had taken up the throne of Mister Lord Chill. Belle scowled and tossed one of the metal balls harder in frustration. If she wished Mister Lord Chill back now, there was only going to be bloodshed when he went to reclaim the throne. She didn’t think that she would be able to convince him not to go. To just stay on Earth and live happily with her. No, that wasn’t like him. Just like how she couldn’t convince her uncle to stop being a soldier. It just wasn’t in their nature. And now the Kingdom had another planet to twist and corrupt. The planet that had been the closest thing to a home that she’d ever had. Earth too, but… How long would it be until Queen Kayen came to claim Namek? Or Earth? Or the whole galaxy?! It was a matter of when not if.
Miss Nashua probably wasn’t just going to give Arcose back without a pinky promise of peace between Saiyans and Arcosians. Belle wanted peace, sure. And maybe Miss Nashua was one of the better Kingdom Saiyans… but… she couldn’t imagine Queen Kayen being okay with it. Or Mister Vocado. Belle shuddered to think of him showing up. She put a hand over her heart as it flickered with fear and hatred. One day. Somehow. She was going to kill him for what he had done. Even if she had to get Miss Korla’s help to do it. Mister Vocado was unrepentantly bad. Before she did though, she needed to know why he had appeared that day and stolen everything she had left away from her.
Belle jumped where she sat in the middle of the training room when she sensed someone’s aura close by. She had been so absorbed in her own thoughts that she hadn’t even noticed! She relaxed when she recognized just who it was. Mister Ochra! Lifting herself up with some effort with her telekinesis, Belle turned off the gravity and hurried outside with her crutches in hand. She almost didn’t need to use them anymore, which was nice, but she figured it would be best to follow the doctor’s orders. Opening the door, Belle smiled meekly as her tail wiggled in excitement.
“Mister Ochra! What are you doing here?”

Indeed, Ochra had been correct, as he slowly touched down in front of the ship. It seemed that his arrival had not gone unnoticed, for as he approached the ship, he could see the door opening. And none other than young Belle, standing in the door, smiling. Ochra couldn't help but chuckle at how meek she was being. There was no need for that. After all, they were friends. "Well, I came back to Earth not too long ago, and I figured I'd come by and visit. After all, what sort of friend would I be if I didn't pop in once in a while?"
Really, nothing else seemed to have changed much with her since they last met. She was still the small, adorable little girl he had met back in South City, and back on Namek. The main difference was the power she was giving off. her strength had skyrocketed since they last met. "You've gotten a lot stronger," Ochra observed, a small smile on his face, "I take it you've started properly training yourself. Good to see that. You've made a lot of progress so far." He the noticed the crutches she was holding. For a brief second, he felt something flare up in him. Did someone hurt her? Who hurt her!? But then again, she had been training. And quite extensively if her new power was anything to go by. He calmed himself. "Though take it a little easier in the future. No sense in hurting yourself."
Belle smiled at Ochra’s reasons. It made sense to her! Plus, she was pretty glad to see him again. He was one of the very few good Vegetan Saiyans, but that was mostly because he stayed away from the Kingdom and it’s brainwashing dogmas. When he said that she had gotten stronger, Belle’s smile wavered. She really didn’t feel like she had gotten any stronger in the ways that mattered. She was still just as hurt as when Mister Ochra and her had met before. She would have traded all of the strength that she had acquired through all her hardships for a happier childhood where she had a guardian that actually loved her. Well. Too late for that now.
“Not really…” came Belle’s mumbled response, “I’ve just been working on my telekinesis. That’s all.”
Tilting her head to the side as Mister Ochra made a strange comment about taking it easier. Her hand went to her nose, but it wasn’t bleeding anymore. It took her half a second to realize what he meant by that. Her crutches! Oh, did he think that was from training? Belle face twisted up into a bitter smile.
“Oh.. this isn’t from training. A mean man named Garon hurt me pretty badly when I was looking for the Dragon Balls… It um… it didn’t feel good in a lot of ways. Oh, but Chromo and Tarch found me and saved me, so I’m okay now.”
That last bit was more meant to reassure Mister Ochra that she was alright than an excuse to make what Mister Garon had done okay. Strangely enough, this was far from the worst thing that had ever happened to her. At this point, it was just one more thing to deal with. Before she got too down with bad thoughts, she worked up a little and looked at Mister Ochra hopefully.
“I was actually training just now… um… would you mind training with me…? It’s kind of boring to do alone…”
The instant Belle told him how she really got injured, that a man had attacked her over the dragon balls, Ochra's eyes immediately sharped. "What?" His tone was flat, but hard. It spoke of many, MANY horrible things happening to this Garon person in the future, when Ochra got his hands on them. What was it with people thinking that it was acceptable to beat up a child? I mean, sure, he had sparred with Tarch in the past, but the kid was a Super Saiyan, could easily handle himself, and liked to fight. Belle. Belle was just a sweet kid who had been through hell because of the assholes she unfortunately was related to.
Fortunately, before he could press her further about this Garon person, so he could run off and avenge her, Belle quickly changed topics, asking him if he minded training her. Ochra blinked. Being asked to train someone was something he had not been asked very often. Not that it wasn't an unwelcome surprise of course. He gave the small girl a warm smile. "Certainly. I wouldn't mind at all." Most of his training had been done by himself, but he could understand why one would want a partner as well. There was something about training against a stronger opponent that pushed one to become stronger. And who knows. Perhaps Ochra could learn a little something from it all as well.
He stood up, looking at Belle's ship. "So, shall we train out here? Or do you have anything in your ship that you're going to need?" He wasn't sure if Belle had a gravity chamber or anything like that, but who knows. She was related to nobility and the like, and one of the perks of said nobility was a decent amount of money.
Belle smiled softly when Mister Ochra agreed to help her train. In answer to his question, she gestured for him to follow her. With a bit more spring in her step, she led the way to the gravity chamber aboard the ship. She spread her hands in a little tada moment before going over to the console and reengaging the gravity. It took hold on her and it would adjust itself automatically to Mister Ochra. It was a smart system, and Belle had figured out most of the ins and outs of operating her ship after spending a lot of time aboard it.
“Okay… I think this is good. So, what I do to train is lift those balls over there,” Belle said, indicating the large metal balls all grouped together, “With my telekinesis… Mmm… maybe we could play catch with them then? They’re pretty heavy and hard to stop. Or maybe dodgeball…? I can move myself around pretty quick with my psychic powers. Whatever you think is fun, Mister Ochra!”
This was nice. This would help her get her mind off of a lot of things that had been swirling around in it. But… maybe Mister Ochra was a good person to talk about those things with? He knew Miss Nashua too.
“Mm, I stole this ship from the Fleet when they kidnapped me, you know. It’s pretty nice… um… a majin named Mumbo made it with magic,” Belle’s eyes lit up as she lifted up three of the metal balls all at once and began to rotate them in various patterns. How did she even talk about it though? Belle bit her lip. “Did you know Miss Nashua took over Arcose…?”
As Belle led him inside, Ochra followed in, looking around. This was a pretty decent ship. Was Belle piloting this all by herself? He had to admit, he couldn't help but feel a little bit proud of her. He was curious how she got it, but if she was able to maintain it and fly it around, it certainly showed a good deal of skill on her part. And to top things off, there was even a gravity chamber on the ship!
He looked over at the metal balls that she used to train, listening quietly to her ideas. Either throwing them around and catching them, or perhaps some dodgeball. Ochra thought about it for a moment. "Perhaps some simple catch would work for now. After all, I'm sure you're still healing up from your injuries, and I don't want to risk hurting you any further." He looked around, "Still, not a bad chamber you have here. I personally have a gravity belt." He tapped the belt on his waist, and then activated it. The hybrid seemed to grow darker as the gravity increased on his body. This, plus a gravity chamber, would certainly make for some interesting training, that was for certain.
She then mentioned how she got the ship, stealing it from the World Trade Fleet. Ochra blinked, before letting out a short laugh. "Did you now? Granted, I don't normally approve of stealing, but if it's from the Fleet, I'm sure I can let it slide." he said with a chuckle. After all, with the Fleet gone, it seemed like they weren't really going to care about a ship. Though what she added next caught his interest. Mumbo had made it? "Oh? Did he now?" Did that mean she stole it from the Stargoon, or did he give it to her? Either way, this was certainly a curious piece of information.
And then came up the topic of Nashua ruling over Arcose. Ochra nodded. "Indeed I did. Granted, I would prefer an Arcosian on the throne, mainly one that isn't going to start a war. But, if it had to be a Saiyan, at least it's Nashua. As far as I'm concerned, she's the least likely to go all tyrant on everyone."
He shifted into a position to brace himself. "Now then, shall we get started?" He was curious to see just how far Belle had come since they last met.
Catch was the game! It was still a good game because it let her train with the heavy training balls! Plus, she could just scoot out of the way if she didn’t think that she could catch it. She just nodded to confirm it. She had been there when he had made it. From Ochra’s reaction, maybe Mumbo didn’t always work for the Fleet? Hm… she guessed that they did sometimes employ mercenary types. Even the Kingdom did that from time to time. Her smile faded a little bit when Ochra mentioned that he did know that Miss Nashua had taken it over.
“Mm, I dunno about that… she may be okay as far as Saiyans go, but she took over Arcose with force, you know? That’s pretty bad. She’s forcing them to be nice to the Kingdom when the Kingdom is really bad. I don’t think it’s right.”
As Ochra braced himself, Belle reached out a hand. With a burst of telekinetic energy, a metal ball launched itself at Ochra. She sent it with some force, but not too much. She didn’t want to get another nose bleed so soon. She frowned, still thinking about Miss Nashua and Aurora.
“A nice Arcosian lady named Aurora came to me and asked me to help her take our home back… as her princess. I said I would help at the time, but… I’m not sure how… it’s kind of heavy to think about. There’s no telling if Mister Vocado will just show up and try to kill me like he did Mister Lord Chill… It’s scary… But… it’s bad if Arcose stays in the Kingdom’s hands too! Because…. Saiyans from the Kingdom… ruin everything they touch…”
It was true for her as well, which was another reason she was a bit scared to help. It seemed like the more she tried to cling to something, the more likely it was to break. Plus, she still had to find a way to bring Uncle Kalabas and Mister Lord Chill back to life… She had asked Mister Carro and Tarch for help… but she was worried that that was just going to get them hurt… but… Tarch… It was okay to rely on him, wasn’t it? Just a little?
Belle didn't seem too keen on the idea of Nashua being in charge of Arcose. She didn't seem to have much of a high opinion of the Kingdom, and to be honest, he could see some of her concerns. Not all of them though. As she launched the metal ball at him, Ochra brought his arms up, ready to catch it as it came into him. The force of it, plus the gravity working on his body, caused him to stumble back lightly, gripping the ball tightly as he regained his footing. Perhaps he needed to let her in on some facts, give her a bit more of a perspective.
"You know, I looked into all that when I learned about it. Apparently, one of the leaders of the World Trade Fleet tried to actively DESTROY Arcose." Indeed, while he was annoyed that he would never get a chance for revenge against Aizu, knowing that the mad Arcosian was dead gave at least some comfort. "Nashua and Kayen actually saved Arcose, rather than let it be destroyed. After all, it wouldn't be fair to blame the Arcosians for what the Fleet did." Indeed, it was a small thing that made Kayen seem like a more decent ruler. If she was indeed a bloodthirsty conquerer, than she could have just let them be destroyed and not worry about them."[/b]
Gripping the ball, he launched it back towards Belle. Not too hard, before enough for her to work on catching it. "As for who's bad and who's good, both sides have done things nobody's proud of. It's been a back and forth throughout the centuries. One's been as bad as the others." he gave a small sigh, "That's why we need to try and stop the fighting." And hopefully, Nashua would be able to do just that.
Still, Belle did have some beef with the kingdom. Perhaps Ochra could help her with that. "Let me ask you a question Belle, how much do you know about the Kingdom's history? You grew up in a noble house, correct?"
