The rhythm in the air… The song played by the radio sent toes tapping and heads turning as they walked by the house of Lu Rose, where a little girl was doing her “happy weekend” dance. The child was tossing her arms aside and her head to the sky as she turned passionately. Not a single care touched the child as she swept the yard with a simple shoulder shimmy shake.
Eventually, a few kids would join her in her celebration and danced their hearts out with the small girl, wiggling fingers and tapping toes as the took up the yard. As more kids came to dance, parents stopped by to watch and, in rarer cases, danced with them. It was a whole party starting from nowhere! Soon enough, a party had started!
Lu’s parents had no idea what hit their yard, but they laughed and decided to started placing snacks out on a table. There wasn’t much, just some chips, mini dessert cakes, and drinks. The food was starting to disappear rapidly over the party with no reason, but the party just seemed to keep growing. It even attracted strangers... Hmmmsssttttttttt a new open

Kari's PL: 16,000 Itzal's PL: 5,000 OOC Note: I legit almost began this thread saying making my way downtown, walking fast... you get the picture
Making her way down the neighborhood of East City, Kari gave a quick wave to her friend before making her way to the nearest bus stop. She had been working on a project with a friend and now that they had finished, they were heading their own separate ways. The brief moments of quiet was nice, at least until a shadowy bird had emerged out of her shadow and into her face. "Finally you're done with the boring project. Jeez, you don't know how painful it is to hear you talk about sine and cosine, imaginary numbers and all that stuff. Why can't you just settle for basic addition and subtraction math? It's not like you'll ever use that in your life." This merely caused the chameleon to shrug her shoulders. Music soon began to slowly grow louder. While typically she would ignore her surroundings, there was a certain quality to this song that made it hard to ignore. Soon, Kari found herself snapping her fingers to the rhythm without even realizing it. Even the typically grumpy Itzal couldn't help but bop his head. "Hey, this is actually a decent song. Who's playing it?" They would quickly find their answer as they walked by a house. A few strangers were dancing on the lawn while a radio blared the music. While Kari didn't recognize them, it was clear by the look on his face Itzal did. Immediately he floated towards a young bunny girl. "Hey! There you are! Didn't expect to see you here. Hey Kari! Come here real quick! This is that girl I told you I taught uh- yeah!" He yelled, through the music. He did his best to hide the fact he forgot his name.
Hesitantly, she walked up to the yard. She didn't want to disturb anyone's personal party. Instead, she cast an apologetic look towards everyone who has turned their attention briefly to them before resuming to dance. "Hi!" Kari waved nervously. "Nice party you have here. Sorry, we're barging in. I guess Itzal wanted to say hi. Come on let's go." She said, grabbing him by his tail before walking off. "We bothered them enough."
"Come on!" He complained. "Let's just say. I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Kari gave a glare before she continued to drag him back. She didn't want to make assumptions about whether she was invited or not. And so, she was left to drag a grumbling shadow demon off someone's lawn, which did attract some attention much to her chagrin.
Time began to pass and even unfamiliar faces turned up. Of course, they were all in association with someone Lu knew, as even complete strangers wouldn’t join a dance party for no reason. Some strangers, though, stuck around anyways and tapped their toe while striking up small talk with the adults and teens. Soon enough, the whole yard was a manifestation of new friends that not even Lu could keep track. In the large crowd that had formed, she’d seen some faces she didn’t expect to see.
“Huh? Itzal?” The girl turned to the demons as they approached the party. “Well hey there! Brought a friend?” Lu Rose smiled big and put her hands on her hips. “My, you look like the monster in your closet finally came out! Relax, this isn’t a birthday party or anything.” Lu spoke to the lizard lady as she made an evasive scene. The girl threw her arms to the side and let her ears droop to her sides as she put on an awkward smile. “I actually have no idea how this party started. People just like to party, I guess?”
Lu looked back at her house and smiled, then back at the two before her, this time her expression lighting up even more. “C’mon, ya globs of lazy! Come chat! Make some friends!” Lu giggles as she said her next thing, winking at Kari. “Maybe even find love?” Lu ruffled her head tuft and wiggled her shoulders to the beat, her eyes closed as she felt the rhythm. “And the name’s Lu Rose, but you can call me Lu Rose!” you like jazz?
The bunny that Itzal had spoken of earlier seemed to react well to her presence. In fact, she even encouraged her to come and join in on the party. According to her, it was all unexpected and unplanned. Many of the party goers were mostly strangers. Even when reassured, Kari was hesitant to join in. Parties have never really interested her, especially ones like this. However, she didn't want to be rude, especially when she was invited. Receiving a harsh slap on the back, Itzal laughed in her face. "See I told you there's nothing to worry about. Stop worrying about everything and loosen up will ya?" After glaring at her companion, she sent an awkward smile towards Lu's direction.
"I guess there's no harm in staying?" Her voice cracked neared the ending, causing her to cringe. Why was she being so awkward around a child? It would make sense if she was like this around another person her age, however, the bunny didn't even seem like she was out of elementary yet. At the mention of finding love, Kari's pink skin immediately turned into the deep red of embarrassment. "Alright." She said simply. The bunny would introduce herself as Lu Rose, but asked her to call her by the same name. While she didn't understand what this meant, decided to go with it. "Okay Lu Rose, I'm Kari, uh you can just call me Kari. I'm sure you met Itzal before." She said, turning towards the floating shadow who had a smirk plastered on his face. "How did you two meet?"
At the mention of the two meeting, the shadow's eyes lit up. "Oh man. Remember that time you were too busy fooling around with that boy to hang with me." The deep red on her skin had impossibly turned deeper at his words. Her voice shaking, she did her best to refute his statement.
"I was working on a math project with him. We were partners..." However, she was quickly shot down with a dismissive hand.
"Sure you were. Anyways, I caught her moping around and cheered her up. We both fought and I've even won." Eyeing the shadow suspiciously, Kari doubted the validity of his statement. Upon sensing her power, Kari quickly noticed that it was rather large, even more than Itzal was. Even with his transformation, she still had doubt that he could have won. Regardless, she did her best to enjoy her time here despite how out of place she felt being here.
