APPEARANCE: Kari takes the appearance of an anthropomorphic chameleon. Overall she is 5’1” in height and is about 105 lbs. She has an average build, neither what one would consider being too muscular, slim or large. Kari’s skin is covered with small scales that outline her entire body. Like the chameleon animal, she has the ability to change her scales in order to camouflage with her surroundings. Generally, though, Kari’s scales are primarily pink with yellow stripes. Darker pink dots line her upper arms, legs and her long tail which curls up like a pinwheel typically. She also possesses hair upon her head, blonde in color, which she keeps short and neat. Her eyes oval-shaped, are blue in color and has a black slit. Kari does have a pink long tongue which she keeps within her mouth, being about 10 feet long when fully stretched. Her teeth are sharp, often two sharp teeth exposed when Kari closes her mouth. She also has four fingers on her hands and three on her foot.
Typically, Kari prefers loose clothing, preferring T-shirts and loose jeans over everything else. She typically goes for the lighter colors in terms of clothing, although she does own and wear dark clothing occasionally. In terms of footwear, Kari prefers to go barefoot, although she does wear black and white sneakers when out in public. She also wears glasses as she needs them to see far distances.
BACKGROUND: From birth, Kari was told she was simply a zoanthrope and nothing else. Her father, Yatsu, unintentionally hid her heritage from her knowledge. The reasoning wasn't because he wanted to his daughter's heritage from her out of fear but rather due to the fact he simply didn’t know that her mother was a demon. All Kari was told about her origins was that her she came from a short affair.
Kari spent her childhood in poverty. As a single father, Yatsu worked hard to support both his daughter and himself. However as he was a dropout, he was only left with odd jobs he could find, often overworking himself to the point where he was almost never home. Yet despite his unhappiness, he tried to mask his exhaustion just for the sake of Kari. In return, the young chameleon would idolize her father and always yearned to spend more time with him due to his busy hours. Yatsu raised her to become a woman whom would be able to appreciate hard work and taught her that life will go on no matter what would happen. Kari found herself cherishing these lessons for her entire life.
Her love for comic books and cartoons, especially the ones about superheroes, manifested at a young age. Like many other children, she grew enamored by the glorified lives of fictional superheroes who would always save the day. She would always aspire to become one of those superheroes that would one day save the world from destruction. As such she would always mimic them, play superhero with her friends and dress up as one for Halloween. But like any other childish dream, it would die as she grew older and was exposed to the reality of the real world. But a single speck of that dream remained. Kari would always hope that one day she would be more than just a girl trying to survive when the odds are always against her. She wanted to be someone that people would look up to and in a world where people are forgotten after only a couple generations. Kari’s biggest dream was to be remembered as a person who touched lives. Even if she wasn’t confident she would ever achieve her dreams, she continued to work hard in order to keep that speck of hope alive.
As she matured, Kari became much more introverted and less confident than she had been the past. She also picked up several different hobbies such as video games and creative writing while her love for comic books merely grew. It wasn’t until she was fourteen when she first began to love martial arts. First introduced when her friends showed her videos of martial arts tournaments, Kari was drawn into the sport due to the strength of each fighter, especially the ones that could wield the mystical energy of ki. She desired to learn how to fight, how to be like the martial artists she saw on TV, but unfortunately, she did not have a teacher willing to teach her. Lessons were too expensive and teaching herself how to fight ended up in a disaster. For many years learning how to fight remained only a dream that she could only pursue when she grew older.
At the age of fifteen, Kari’s entire world turned upside down as she met her mother for the first time. Of course, she didn’t recognize her when the two first met as she had never seen her before in her life. However, after an encounter which would lead up to both sparring, she had introduced herself as Cali, Kari’s true mother. As such she revealed Kari’s heritage, how she was, in fact, a hybrid, being half demon. The news had shocked the hybrid and had changed her perspective on the world. Realizing there was more to her world than she had originally realized. After a conversation, Kari would agree to give Cali one final chance at being her mother.
The tension between the two was rather high at first, however after learning about her daughter’s interest in fighting Kali offered to teach her in an effort to bridge the gap between the two. Kali’s training was rigorous and difficult. While Kari did struggle at first, especially at the hand to hand combat, however, once she overcame the huge mountain, training would become much easier for her and her fighting skills improved. Within training Kari would learn how to use ki along with her innate demon powers, granting her the superhuman abilities she had wanted as a child. While learning from her mother didn’t magically repair their relationship it definitely improved it.
The young chameleon would eventually decide to chase after her childhood dream of becoming a hero. While she did want to protect her planet from danger, it wasn’t her primary reason. Her reasoning for wanting to become wasn't as pure as they were when she was a child. Instead, she wanted the fame that came along and possibly the eventual fortune so she would be able to bring her family into a much more comfortable life. Kari learned that what appeared to be impossible can be possible, such as chasing her childhood dream

[N1] Orb of Darkness: When activating this technique, Kari's eyes turn pitch black for a moment as she calls upon her shadow magic to create a dark sphere in her palm. She then throws the orb at her opponent, functioning similarly to a ki orb.
[N1] Life Barrier: Using a combination of ki and her shadow magic, Kari summons a dark pink barrier which she uses to protect herself from damage. If Kari is within 65% of the attack's PL, the damage is halved. (IE: If a Ki Barrier had 2,000 PL, and was broken by a 3,000 PL attack, the bleed-through damage would be 500 PL instead of 1,000). If Kari is lower than 65% of the incoming attack, the damage reduction is only 25%.

Energy Sensing [UT]: Kari has been trained to feel the natural energy within all organic manner to allow herself to avoid potentially life-threatening situations. However, this only works on natural living beings as androids do not possess this natural energy.
