ENGINE TROUBLE | Ramen's PL: 8,410 |
Driving along comfortable city streets or breezy southern highways was always a joy for Ramen. Without a doubt, getting her wheels on some solid pavement and really testing the limits of her bike's speed and handling was her primary hobby. She even enjoyed taking it along mountain roads and, on occasion, dirt roads into lesser-populated parts of the world. Whenever she traveled, that bike went with her. Even if she had to track it down after a couple of ruffians decided to ride away on it after she'd left it on the side of the road to go embarrass herself at the Lookout. That was a real smart decision on her end. But if there was anything Ramen was safe from being accused of, it was having good judgement. She might turn heads on the road with the sleek red paint-job on her bike, she might have a taste for the dramatic while she blazed past traffic, and she might even be able to hold her own in a scrap.
But make good decisions? Not so much. Maybe that same lack of judgement was what possessed her to think it'd be just a swell idea to take her bike, undoubtedly meant for warmer climates, and ride it all the way into the North, across vast stretches of land, until she reached one of the most frigid spots she'd ever had the misfortune to travel through. She had no good reason to be here, still wasting days upon days of her life just driving around, seemingly at a loss for what do to with herself, and now that she was here, she regretted it.
As she wrenched on the handlebars of her bike, trying to urge it to continue pressing through the ice-and-snow covered roads on her way to Jingle Village, the nearest stop in this wintry mess of a region, it made a concerning sputter. And then, the engine shut off, the dashboard went dark and the bike began to skid backwards along the road, until it and its driver tumbled sideways into a snowbank. After digging herself out, she cussed under her breath and wheeled around to pick her bike up out of the snow, trying to dry it off. But even after she'd cleared off some of the snow and tried to rev the engine back up -- nothing happened. She tried again, to no avail.
This particular bad decision seems to have left her stranded in a snowy mess with a malfunctioning motorcycle and a sleeveless jacket that really was not meant for long periods of sitting around in the cold. No matter how tough she thought she looked.

PL: 2,300 The temperature of the this region was way less than that of the southern area. Snow was everywhere, which gave it a beautiful appearance to Frija. His view from the sky as he flew along was wonderful, and he couldn't help but enjoy it despite his original mission. He was sent here to gather information yet he found himself at a lose, not knowing where to start in order to gather said information. As such he was not in the north, his scouter bleeping away at why it was snowing. It told him this was mostly water which was frozen. It was then that the scouter gave a new result, that someone was nearby. A high power level could be detected nearby and it wasn't moving suddenly. Frija worried about interacting with someone who possessed that sort of strength but perhaps they could be useful in terms of information. So he turned toward their direction, taking only a short amount of time before arriving. As his feet touched the ground he could see the girl was struggling to move a machine of some sort, probably as a form of transport. Though it wasn't working at the moment or she had wrecked perhaps? Regardless, Frija put on a smile before stepping forward. "Hello there Earthling. You seem to be having trouble." Frija said trying to sound as friendly as possible as to not cause alarm or appear menacing in the slightest. Once he was within a certain range of the person he placed his hands on his hips while looking at the machine in general. "Er... What is that in your hands if you don't mind me asking?" Asked the Arcosian while gesturing toward the strange thing. Not sure how else to start a conversation as he knew little of the Earthlings in general.

Engine Trouble Xanathrozza Guar - 5,000 PL Chapron - 5,000 PL
The north wasn’t exactly ideal for a hang out, but when your faction’s head base is held up in an icy mountain, you have to get a lay of the land. Xanathrozza, a Saiyan Elite seeking allies and power, had been floating above the skyline with her ally and friend, Chapron, a Demon sword she recovered from the desert. The two were out on a scouting mission, or more specifically, trouble. They didn’t want to cause it, but if they did happen to be a source of an Arcosian breaking out, then who was Xana to blame but herself? She just couldn’t help but mock the enemy.
After a small flight, Xana eyed a motorcycle climbing up a steep and icy hill, the engine lights blinking in danger of failure, but the human riding it seemed determined to ride the full way up. It didn’t take long after for the bike to give out and start steeping downward. Knowing well that she couldn’t let the crash occur, the Saiyan shot down and went to the back end of the bike, catching the tail as it slid down. Pushing against the ice, Xana held her feet firm and used her ki to maintain slowing the bike down. “Forgive me for this!” The Saiyan said before tipping the back over into the snow to prevent it from going down the hill any further. “Oh my kais, sorry, sorry!” Xana would offer her hand to the Human if she fell and assist her up.
“Apologies.” The Saiyan bowed as her companion arrived rather late. “What’s up, lady?” Chapron said to the Human, turning around to see an Arcosian landing as well… Xana didn’t see him. “I notice your bike failed.” The Queen to Be crouched and examined the bike quietly. “Damn, this thing has undergone some abuse and yet it’s one of the best bikes I’ve ever seen… I’d say reviving this bike is near impossible, especially with the mechanics on this planet being only so skilled…” The Elite stood back up and crossed her arms. “You may never find someone who can fix it… Oh, wait, I can.” Xanathrozza smirked and winked at the red haired Human. “All for free, of course”
“Xana… Xana… XANA!” The sword smacked the Saiyan’s butt with her blade, which made the Engineer squeak before jolting around. “What was that fo-... Oh.” The Lady in Black looking the Arcosian she hadn’t seen before, eyeing him up and down. “Why are you in your Brute Form? Are you seeking trouble?” The woman scanned furthermore, eyebrows raised to his form. She’d never seen an Arcosian go into their brute form unless they wanted to crush someone with ease.
Warning, she's gay Also, Frija, I suspected that you didn't know this, but you used your x2. Brute form is a transformation, so you'd need to label that you were in brute form. If you aren't in any form, you'd be in your base form, so you would be at 1,150. I'm continuing the thread as if you are in the brute form, but your thread PL is still
1,150.
Never label it as your x2, x4, or x6. You add those modifiers later, preferably besides the base PL.

Forgive me for this!
Those were the words that precipitated Ramen’s impending date with a freezing cold snowbank, as the arriving Saiyan both saved her from skidding further down the road, and ensured she ended nice and frosty. Dropping into the snowbank would’ve been bad enough if she’d only been going without a helmet, but she’d abandoned the notion of wearing winter clothing as well -- a sleeveless jacket and a pile of snow? Those are two things that just don’t play nice, even if the snow cushioned her fall. As the Saiyan woman came into sight, offering a hand down to her, she couldn’t do much more but blinky dully, still half-dazed from the whole string of events. At first, she barely noticed the Arcosian’s near-simultaneous arrival, until she’d been helped to her feet. “T-thanks,” she replied to the Saiyan through chattering teeth, wrapping her arms around her midsection to try to warm herself up, albeit to no avail, as bits of snow and water clung to her exposed skin.
It may have turned out to be a poor day to go for a bike ride up a frozen road, but it might just have been a good day to catch a cold. Or a case of frostbite, for that matter. But she was already embarrassed enough that she’d let her bike break-down, she wasn’t about to ask for a spare jacket too. She ended up just standing there, staring at the Saiyan for a little longer than was really necessary, still trying to determine whether she’d hit her head. When the Arcosian spoke up, the unlikely pairing set off all of the wrong alarm bells. She was definitely unconscious. As the Arcosian spoke, she just kind of blinked her eyes. “What I have my hands--oh, you mean the motorcycle? It’s… a fancy way of getting around if you can’t fly. Or don’t want to fly.”
As the Saiyan spoke in turn, Ramen’s eyebrows raised. The offer was a little too good to pass up, even if some part of her suspected there’d be a ‘but’ in there somewhere. “I-I can hardly believe my luck, honestly. It isn’t often you run into a mechanic right as you crash…” she pauses, taking a moment to inspect the Saiyan. “Er, this isn’t one of those things where I say yes and you send me weird phone bills until I’m sixty-five, is it? Because I’m already living down that time I accidentally ordered--er, well, nevermind that…”
She cleared her throat, nodding a little more firmly. “... If you can give me a hand, I’ll take whatever help you can offer. And -- you can show your friend,” she nodded to the Arcosian. “How vehicles kind’a work… but if this isn’t a scam and I’m not just dreaming ‘cause I hit my head, I’m not gon’na ask you to work for free. I’ll give you a tip!.. Or something!”

Frija had intended to help but it seems another was able to arrive on the scene who was more qualified to assist. Frija simply continued to smile despite seeing a saiyan, his irritating at such a beings arrival would not get in the way of information. That being said, the saiyan was as brash as his superiors said they would be. Quick to question Frija as if he had done wrong, to which he held up his hands in a surrendering gesture. "Not at all! Not at all, I simply prefer this form over the diminitive figure that our supressed form! How can one have a conversation if you can't even reach past their waists?! It simply is my favorite form is all. Honest." Frija said continuing to smile warmly, though he doubted the saiyan would accept an arcosian's word. As such he remained on guard, hands along with his body bending in a graceful bow. "I but only wanted to assist someone in need. However if you are a mechanic able to repair said 'motorcycle' then I shall leave it in your capable hands." Frija said before standing up right again. His eyes fixed on the saiyan, making sure to not leave her so she didn't catch him off guard. He expected a surprise attack, or perhaps something to happen. It was clear he was tensed up and didn't like the saiyan despite his smile. He would need to learn to supress that in the future.

Engine Trouble Xanathrozza Guar - 5,000 PL Chapron - 5,000 PL
As the human rose from the ground with Xana’s assistance, the Queen to Be noticed the Human’s shivers. Xana blinked at the freezing girl, realizing the mistake she made in an instant. The Saiyaness reached her hands up and unclipped her cape, swinging it around her body until it was in front of her. The Engineer took the stretchable fabric and pulled on it until it was about blanket size, then commanded the words “Warm.” A silent hum started up within the cape and the fabric began to heat up with nothing more than a word. Another invention Xana had created for her travels.
The Saiyan sighed and handed the cape to Raman, smiling awkwardly. “Yeah, sorry about that… Here, wrap this around you and you should feel better within minutes.” Xana, after Ramen had either accepted or declined the warmth, would put a hand on the bike and smile. “No, this is no scam, but I do have an optional offer for you.” The Saiyan added before tapping a finger on her chin. “Well, not really an offer, but more of just some info. The Saiyan Kingdom is looking for allies and if you’re willing to give some hands to help out some time, we’d appreciate that.” The Lady in Black smiled before gesturing to the Human’s sigil on her vest. “You a part of a dojo?” She questioned, leaning down into her boot and rummaging around until she found a tiny notebook with a pen attached to it.
Xana opened the book and began to take notes on the bike, writing down the model, the types of parts she’d need to used and what would most likely need to be fixed. “Mind if I ask for your name and number? F-for business reasons, of course.” The Saiyan gestured a hand with a bit of blush on her face from the odd question. If Xana was to fix this motorcycle, she’d need to know where to return it to, so hopefully this girl didn’t pick up the wrong case.
As Xana turned to the Arcosian, he gave an explanation that made her a little confused, but she just shrugged her shoulders and smiled “Yeah, sure. Whatever.” Xana looked over at Chapron, who had floated over to a pile of snow and was attempting to make a snowball with only her blade. Xana just smirked at the attempt, which the sword picked up from a side glance. “Hey, don’t laugh! I’m still getting used to this!” The Demon growled before turning back to her business. “Yes, but snowballs, of all things?” “Shut up!”

ENGINE TROUBLE | Ramen's PL: 8,410 |
Ramen took the cape with an appreciative smile, draping it around her shoulders to warm herself up. She probably should've brought something like this to begin with. It didn't take long for the cape to begin to warm her up, her shivering beginning to calm as she listened to the Saiyan's offer. Evidently, it took her off-guard, and she ended up just kind of blinking at her for a good long moment before replying.
"Huh? The Saiyan Kingdom..?" she asked, tilting her head to the side quizzically. "I mean, I uh -- I really kind of need allies of my own, and a place to learn and stuff, but... I mean -- would they really be interested in working with someone like me?" She paused a moment, considering her words. "I mean -- don't get me wrong, I would love to work with you guys if you're willing! But I don't want to step on any toes by being the uh, you know. Non-Saiyan sticking out like a sore thumb kind've thing..."
She pinched the bridge of her nose. "I guess what I'm saying is that I'd be glad to help however I can, as long as it's gon'na be a thing your counterparts are gon'na be willing to accept." At the next question, Ramen brought her hand up to tap the sigil on her vest, before shaking her head. "Not a dojo, no. It was a sort've gang out in South City. I'm not really a part of it, but they got wiped out and I knew some people in it. They were criminals and all, but you know -- still don't deserve to get attacked like that. The bike was one've theirs, too. Call it me being sentimental."
As the Saiyan began to look over the bike, it was clear that for the most part, it had been kept in good condition. Most of the parts were a little outdated, maintaining the 'classic' feel, but nothing was actually broken. After a little searching, it probably wouldn't be hard for the engineer to identify the culprit: the battery wasn't exactly built for cold-weather conditions. Being forced to operate in the middle of freezing conditions caused it to drain too quickly and effectively killed it. No jump-starting was going to work this time: it probably needed a replacement.
Ramen flashed an odd look over to Chapron, not entirely sure how to react to her, before shrugging over at Xana. "Yeah, no problem -- here." She stepped over to scribble down her name and number as requested, before glancing across at the Arcosian. "... erm, forgive my lack of understanding on this kind've thing, but -- what exactly is 'Brute Form'? Does that mean you're more suited to trying to beat people up right now, or..?"

He couldn't blame them for their behavior, he was a stranger on this planet and with a hostile faction. Their suspicion was to be expected he supposed and he needed to keep things civil at best. He listened attentively at what was going on, trying to stay out of everyone's way while watching them. When the human asked him about the brute form Frija gave a nervous laugh but nodded hesitantly. "Er... yes that is true but I assure you I mean no harm. I'm just here as a lowly soldier, I have no ill will I swear." His calm stature now becoming nervous as he was put in a spot he couldn't really talk his way out of. At least he didn't really have a good answer to strangers who knew about his form like this. He placed his hands on his hips while considering a good way to explain why he stayed in brute form. Truth be told he didn't really have one, he just liked being in this form. A bird soon landed on the Arcosians' shoulder as he continued to think of a possible answer to the question. After a bit of thought, he decided that the best way to explain it would be to tell the truth he supposed. Though giving that information would be unwise, it was clear the saiyan knew of his kind so lying would look bad. During his thought process however, the bird decided to... relieve itself onto his shoulder which prompted a look of surprise followed by him shooing the bird away. With a groan he looked at the white matter on his shoulder with disgust and embarrassment, as he looked for anything to wipe it away. "UGH This animals are disgusting on this planet!" Frija said as he tentatively tried to clean himself with a nearby tree branch, though it did very little to help him.

Engine Trouble Xanathrozza Guar - 5,000 PL Chapron - 5,000 PL
As Xana scanned up and down the bike, she could easily tell that she’d need to do a replacement of the battery, maybe fine tune the engine so it wouldn’t freeze under the cold either. “Yeah, I’d say this is about an hour of work. I could take it over to my shop in West City and get it back in working order, maybe even a little better.” The Saiyaness stood up and smiled, giving a thumbs up to the girl. “If that’s alright with you.” The girl bent down and picked up the back with relative ease.
Ramen began to explain her thoughts on the idea of being in the Kingdom, which Xana nodded to her explanation. “A Human amongst our ranks would be fine. We are vastly accepting of all recruits, whether you want to be a permanent member or a temporary one, so whatever you decide, we’ll be glad to have you along.” Xana smiled softly, trying her hardest not to embarrass herself by doing something weird in front of a cute girl. “Also, if you’re not home to a dojo, I know of a cool one you could join, hosted by yours truly.” Xana boasted, acting more show boaty than usual around the presence of the Arcosian. “If you want in, I could call you with info about it.”
The Queen to Be looked over at the Arcosian as he began to rant on about the Earthling animals, ignoring Ramen’s question, which Xana took it upon herself to answer. “Arcosians, or Changlings, have four basic forms. Suppressed, their weakest form, Brute, a buffer, slightly stronger form, Monster, a terrifying, yet powerful form, and True, a simplistic form that holds the most power. Some Arcosians are able to achieve a full power form, in which they expand their muscles for maximum power, but as of late, no reported Arcosians in the past few hundred years have achieved that power.” Xana’s voice became serious and analytical, like she was a teacher or a scientist who specialized in the anatomy of the Arcosian.
Turning away from the two, Xana smiled and waved to Chapron, who floated over. “Leaving already?” The sword asked, audibly disappointed. Xana simply nodded in response before giving a two finger salute to the two. “I’ll call you…” The Saiyan looked down at her notepad. “Ramen!” She said, confirming the name of the girl before setting to the skies. The blade sighed as she took off, floating after her with hesitation.

Ramen took a step back to allow the Saiyan to pick up the motorcycle, giving her a quick nod in response to her question. “Yeah, for sure. Take all the time you need -- I mean, I can fly around anyways, so the motorcycle is really just… more for fun,” she managed a weak smile. “But you’ve got my number, so call me anytime. Er, when it’s ready.”
The Saiyan’s comments on her kingdom gave Ramen pause for a moment. The potential opportunity never really dawned on her until now. She had been searching for something or somewhere to put her skills to the test, and they were a warrior people, so maybe…
… but her train of thought was broken as the Saiyan raised the possibility of joining her dojo. The redhead brightened at that. “Oh! Sure, that could be fun,” she grinned. “I usually train out of this monastery that’s not far from South City by bike, but I don’t really represent them in the normal way, which--” she gestured over herself. “You can probably tell. So I’d be glad to participate in yours! Just, you know--” she mimed a phone next to her ear. “Whenever you’re starting up or have a training session or… really, just if you want to trade blows sometime. I could use the practice, and it’d probably be fun. Especially since the only other Saiyan I ended up fighting was, erm…” she held her hand up high, trying to indicate a great height. “Rampaging and not really in control of his actions.”
She glanced between Xana and Frija for a moment as the former went through her explanation, before something seemed to click. She turned towards Frija. “-Wait,” she eyed him carefully. “You’re here as a soldier? You’re not like, an off-duty traveler? Why would a lowly soldier be off on his own talking to locals..? Are you like, a scout or something?”
Whatever her immediate suspicions, Ramen was distracted again as Xana made her departure. She turned to offer the girl a wave, “Yeah! I look forward to meeting up again!”
After the Saiyan was gone, Ramen hopped into the air and turned to the Arcosian as she began to float her way away. “Look, uh. I should go find some warm clothes now that my bike is safely in the hands of that girl there. Don’t do anything bad, okay? You seem okay even if you’re some sort of soldier, and I’d hate to have to come back and punch you.”
Also leaving unless stopped!

Frija listened quietly as his race was explained, not disagreeing with the woman. She had the knowledge certainly, Frija would need to be careful around that one, she would prove way more trouble than he needed. With a sigh as the other two decided to depart, he didn't want to cause them trouble and the human looked cold. So deciding to bid his time, he would just wait for another opportunity to learn about earth. As the human turned to leave, she spoke once more to him which the Arcosian simply nodded in response. If he was going to get in good with this locals he needed to be different than his immediate nature would allow. He decided he would play along with the heroes for a bit, learn how they work and when they weren't looking... A smile crept across Frija's face that could be seen as him smiling at the girl while waving good bye. Once she was gone, Frija too would turn to fly off into the distance. Knowing now that he needed to be more careful if he was to make it seem sincere when helping others.
