Leaving behind a life of more organized crime doesn’t always leaving behind the greed that comes with it. For Majin Karada this held true. Despite her decision to leave her former gang of thieves, her lust for wealth stayed ever present, and it was just no fun if it wasn’t stealing in SOME way. This would be a bit of a stretch for the thief. She had heard rumors of a temple in the east that held a sacred treasure called the Nerve Gem. What it did or how it got its name, Karada had no idea, nor did she particularly care. If it was deemed sacred by someone, than it was important, and if it was important that it was valuable! So with nothing but the loose fitting clothes on her back the majin set off to the east to sate her greedy desires.
Finding the temple was easy enough, though with its aged appearance it was more like an intricately designed cave. To be honest the majin felt a little let down. She was hoping for a theft than a hunt. Still she knew she couldn’t win them all, and if she really WAS going for something new, a treasure hunt could be a nice change of pace. Unfortunately for her, she wouldn’t manage to get even a quarter of the way in before she was trapped in place unable to move an inch.
She was huddled in a corner, nor too terribly hurt, but a few bruises and burns clearly visible. So far sitting was all she could safely do, though it did give her plenty of time to think about her current conundrum. She had made it past the first set of traps with little to no trouble, each one more suited to the average treasure hunter, or at the very least someone who couldn't fly. It was the usual spike pits, quicksand pits, alligator pits. Really mostly pits. This next trap though. This was a whole new beast entirely.
She had just made it into what appeared to be a basement of sorts having followed the trail of items left behind by previous raiders. Oddly enough then stopped here, each one leaving a note behind all saying the same thing basically, “Turn back it’s not worth it.” Now of course Karada took this as a challenge and charged right in even giving a pompous “ha!” It turned out that ha was her undoing. As soon as she laughed, a bright light began barreling towards her almost like a train and just as loud. As it passed through the majin, she felt a searing pain all over where the light touched, her own “ha” blaring back at her and smashing her like a flaming baseball bat. This of course led to a slew of pained swears. Again she was met with the painful light, beating her down into the corner she found herself in now. She could hardly even move either. There wasn’t enough room to fly, and even the tiniest of footsteps would send shocks down towards her. So for now all she could do was sit and plan. In her attempts to crawl away, she did notice that the quieter she was, the softer the blasts were, though instead a rapid fire of tiny stings. Where as her loud pained swears were retaliated with a massive blast but slow and singular. This would have certainly driven away or likely killed an unprepared average explorer.
She wasn’t about to give up, like hell she’d let the first chance of treasure as a free agent beat her. Still she was worried that someone would notice the light and come in without any regard for silence, resulting in more painful shockwaves.
