His meager attempt at giving the two, along with himself, a semblance of hope came short. Atleast, to himself it did. What hope did they really have? The Saiyans might've stood a light chance, but he? Terryn was just...Human. Just a regular skater-boy from West City turned hero, all because of his abnormal strenght. He wasn't a born Warrior, nor a skilled fighter. His strength could only carry him so far.
An empty sigh ran through the air as Terryn once again buried his face into the pit between his knees. For a moment there was only silence, as Terryn began to imagine the worst. He figured he might as well start filling in the last of his days, do everything that he ever wanted to do. Apologize to his parents, learn how to fly...Maybe even ask Bella out on a date?
...Then, it really hit him. He was going to die.
The Pride Trooper broke. Silently he began to sob, shaking weakly as he pulled his body even closer. Terryn hated himself. He was so weak, so spineless. With all the power in the world, and all the support he could wish for...Yet he still couldn't face his fears. He still couldn't be the Hero he had always secretly hoped to be.
Yet suddenly, Banzo spoke up. The grizzled Warrior's voice silenced Terryn's empty sobs. He couldn't help but listen.
...And the strangest feeling washed over him.
Terryn was no longer quivering, instead calmly letting Banzo's words settle into his subconscious. He did need to get stronger...His will, that fear of death. The Earthling had no choice but to fight it, and overcome it. What kind of Trooper would he be if he couldn't even face his opponent? There were tiny embers of Pride hidden deep within the Earthling. He felt them start to re-kindle, a faintly warm flame bubbling up from within.
''...You're not gonna take all the glory for yourself, are you?'' He finally spoke, his tone sensitive, but clear. Terryn couldn't help but feel his trembling lips pull into a smirk. Slowly, the Earthling looked up, tear-stained eyes looking into the distance. ''Nah...You'll have to share that glory. I'll become a Super Human, fuck you.'' Terryn chuckled weakly, still fighting back the tears. Coming to terms with this was tough, and damn terrifying. But a lot of people were depending on him...They just didn't know it yet.
Silently, Terryn stood up, taking in a deep breath. This had been the second time that Banzo gave him hope, gave him the courage to fight. He wouldn't let that go to waste.
''You,'' He turned towards Carro, and looked down at the Saiyan. ''I...I know you're scared. W-we all are...'' Terryn felt his bottom lip start to tremble again, but he ignored it. ''B-But this isn't the end. We're not going to let them take our h-home this easily. And you...Y-you can help too.''
Tears began to dot the corners of his eyes, the tone in his voice starting to tremble and grow weak. Yet still, he continued to talk. ''D-do whatever you can, w-whatever you're g-good at! I don't c-care what it is, but please...Help us.'' Terryn gestured toward Banzo and himself. He meant more, though, so much more. The Saiyan Kingdom, The Pride Troopers, but also...Earth. All of it.
''...I don't think I've gotten your name yet.'' He smiled weakly, streams of tears finally falling down his cheeks. Confidently, he extended a hand toward the smaller Saiyan.
''Terryn Yaki, a Pride Trooper.''

There was a stretch of silence after his words. Carro was sitting on the bench, rocking himself, clearly breaking inside. Terryn seemed to be breaking as well, but at Banzo's words, a calm came over the earthling. When he finally spoke, it caused the Saiyan to break out into a grin. "Well, I might, but you're gonna have to earn it, mate. Still... if anyone's gonna manage to become a Super Human, I imagine it'd be you." He offered a fist-bump to Terryn, a moment of lightness in the darkness of the conversation.
Then, the young man turned to Carro, the saiyan still shaking. His words, his determination, even if it was stretched and strained... Terryn hadn't given up. He was going to fight back. A swell of pride filled Banzo's chest, and he nodded in agreement. Not sure he coulda put it better himself. "We haven't lost yet. We're still here. I may be a refugee here, but I'm not gonna leave Earth on it's own. Even if you think I shouldn't be here."
He gestured around. "Earth isn't united. It's disparate. It needs someone to organize it. It needs someone to make people realize what kinda threat we have before us. You may not be a fighter, but that doesn't mean you can't fight in your own way."
Extending a hand, he gave a chuckle. "The name's Banzo. I'm an Oozaru Master, a Privateer... and a certified public accountant." Banzo shook his head for a moment. "Seriously, the taxes involved in mercenary work, even the ethical sort... bloody complicated."
Bit short, but not much else to say atm

TIA | CARRO
CARRO'S PL: 10 TIANUM'S PL: 5,000
At this point Carro was face-flat against the floor with his hands on his head, mumbling something incoherent to himself. The extremely poor manager of stress barely registered anything besides the hammering of his own heart at this point, but... Maybe it was just the sun getting in his eyes or the rustle of the leaves above in the wind, but he'd raise his head up a little, breathing slower now. The human- at least Carro thought it was him judging by the blurred figure he could make out, along with some words. He made a good point- all of this hadn't happened yet. There was still time. Carro seemed to be at least recognizing his surroundings now, pushing himself into a sitting position again. What he was good at? "...Well I'm good with... uh... tech, machines, b-business, and stuff." He muttered, arms still wrapped around his torso for some semblance of comfort still. He grimaced when Banzo brought up the Earth's government... They had a government? Carro hadn't heard much from the higher-ups that were apparently running the planet. Still, he couldn't help but to force a weak laugh when Banzo brought up the struggle of taxes. "That's child's play. Try copyrights and licensing." He smirked somehow despite his continued stress, wiping one of his eyes.
"But, uh... I-I do have some stuff that could help. Maybe. Funding is h-hard to come by with big gun companies and monopolies and s-stuff, though..." Carro pushed himself to his feet with a slow inhale. "But, i-in hindsight..." He sighed. The theorized prospect of the World Trade Fleet's inner workings was terrifying, yes, but was it all true? "I'd like to know what's true and what's not before I think about getting in this mess. If we're really getting worked up over nothing in the end, then..."
"...Oh, erm, I'm Carro. Carro Hofferson--"
"HEeeey! There you are you dweeb I--...... wwwhhhhhaaat happened?"
Tianum managed to stumble across her coworker and his apparent two new friends. There was a buff, shirtless saiyan, and a human in the middle of some sort of breakdown. Carro looked like he'd seen better days also. "...Am I interrupting?" The draconic humanoid chimed, eyeing Carro in particular, who turned back to the group. "And, uh, that's Tianum, my coworker." The chilled Doragon raised a finger gun, clicking her tongue.
"Well whatever, you bunch look like you could use some pizza! Fresh from Pastabilities!" She chimed, spinning the square box on her finger before placing the cheese and pepperoni-topped dish on a nearby picnic table, the fresh scent of the baked pizza invading and starting to alleviate the air of tension. "I don't know what you guys are worked up about, and at this point I'm afraid to ask, but I know food always makes me feel better! Help yourselves!"

''-...Wait, you do taxes n' shit?''
And just like that, all the drama and tension had disappeared from their conversation. Terryn pulled a difficult face as he glanced toward Banzo, eyes still red and tear-stained. ''Uh...C-can you help me sometime with my tax returns...?'' The Earthling asked in the most careful tone he could muster. Banzo just kept on surprising him, didn't he? First, he turned out to be a goddamn Historian, and now he did accounting too...Jeez.
Carro didn't seem as impressed, though. Another '500 IQ' Brainlord to make Terryn feel like the dumbest person to have ever walked the face of the Earth. Neat. Atleast Terryn had one thing the two of them could never hope to have- he could pull off the SICKEST railgrinds.
''Y-Yeah, it's kinda uncertain now...But like, we can never be too sure, right? No harm in prep-...'' In the midst of responding to Carro, Terryn caught a glimpse of a distant figure through his watered sights. At first he couldn't really figure out who or what it was, but once she came closer...
''Oh damn.'' Cutie alert- CUTIE ALERT. Terryn's sixth sense kicked in, but right as he was about to work his ever-so-succesful seduction magic, he realized something. Riiight after she pointed it out. ''UH-''
Terryn immediately rubbed his eyes squeaky clean, getting rid of any leftover tearstains. ''I, uh- I wasn't crying, someone spilled water in my eyes- I mean, uh-...'' He might as well just stop talking. The Earthling coughed into his hand, regaining his composure before he winked at Tianum in the most unattractive, cringeworthy fashion imaginable. ''How you doin'?''
For a moment the King Dweeb side-eyed the pizza, but it felt a bit weird taking food from someone he didn't even know yet. Although it did look really, REALLY damn good...

Huh. A tech guy, huh? "Hmm. I actually think there might be someone you should talk to... should run it past him first, though." Vocado would probably be interested in this. "As fer copyrights and such... that's beyond me. I'm not THAT smart." Accounting was easy enough if you had calculation equipment, after all.
"As fer what's true and not... It might have been a coincidence, sure. I've personally had to hunt down an Arcosian Scout who flat-out said he was here as a precursor to invasion, though. Unfortunately, beating him involved going..." Banzo coughed. "Apeshit. So, didn't get many answers, but I know for a fact the WTF are coming for Earth. I just don't know how competent they're being about it."
He turned to Terryn as the young man finally spoke up, chuckling slightly. "Yeah, sure. We can do it after our training, a'ight?" Tax returns were pretty easy, after all. He was about to say something else, when suddenly a voice broke the air. He turned, and raised an eyebrow. Damn. She was cute. Although...
He glanced at the small Saiyan beside him. Based on her body language, she seemed quite worried about Carro. Probably girlfriend? If not, very close. Either way, not a good time. Sadly. She was damn cute, after all.
Banzo nodded at her as Carro introduced them. "Banzo, Privateer, Accountant and currently accidentally mentally scarring my friends with wild conspiracy theories that I REALLY hope are wrong." His eyes swung to the pizza, and he almost raised a hand, before literally forcing it back down. "Err, thanks, but I'll leave that to you three. I'm a Saiyan AND a fighter, I uh... eat. a lot. Like... a lot-a lot." He scratched his face awkwardly for a moment. "Still, appreciate the offer."
When Terryn winked at Tianum, however, Banzo rolled his eyes. Midway through his "How Y-" the Saiyan's muscular tail swung around and aimed at his stomach, attempting to cut off his line. Leaning down, Banzo raised an eyebrow and flicked a finger between Tianum and Carro. "c'mon man, look at those two. Neither of us got a chance." Straightening up, he stretched for a moment. "Righto. I have to go take care of some stuff. See you lot later, alright?" He lifted up off the ground before flying off, calling down to Terryn. "Don't forget, we got training! FIND OTHER PEOPLE TO HELP US PUNCH BETTER ALRIGHT?" And like that, he was gone.
Around the next block, anyway. Landing outside a Pastabilities not far away, he strode in. "Excuse me, hi, I'd like ONE MILLION PIZZAS- No, sorry. I meant to say 6. 6 large pizzas, thank you." God damn that had smelled good.
[Banzo Exits. Also, now I want Pizza dammit.]

TIA | CARRO
CARRO'S PL: 10 TIANUM'S PL: 5,000
Tianum blinked, oblivious to the others' attraction while she approached Carro, picking up and swiftly propping the tiny saiyan on her shoulders in a piggyback with little more than a yelp from the small adult. While the somewhat dizzied hybrid shook his head, Tianum turned to eye Terryn as he awkwardly began to speak to her before he regained some confidence after a cough. The dragon lady just tilted her head to the side when Banzo went in to cut him off with a tail slap, clicking her tongue while Carro held back a laugh rather poorly.
"Yeah, stuff is good." The Doragon chimed after Banzo had to skedaddle for shenanigans. Carro waved adieu when the saiyan flew off, leaving just the two bestie coworkers and the human. "You got our ride?" Tianum rang, eyeing Carro. "Yup, she's on her way." The saiyan nodded, the two workers content- despite the growing metallic thumps echoing in the distance. "Your friend said something about training?" Carro tilted his head, figuring it was best for him to offer something also. "I work at Crop Corporated- I'm the CEO there. We've got tons of training equipment tailored for fighters, or other gadgets and stronger workers to spar with." They had their Lifelink Simulation in the works for top-line training, which essentially booted the consciousness of people into a virtual world where all sorts of intense simulations could test fighters of all kinds, and he was in need of some test dummies for it's beta stage... "Feel free to ring me up if you'd like to stop by, shouldn't be hard to find our contacts after a quick internet search. Pizza's all your also, we got extras."
The trees shook and swayed now, a large shadow flashing by. "LEO! DOWN HERE!" Tianum hopped into the air, waving and reaching a hand out. "Well, it was nice to meet ya! We can hang later if you want, but we gotta go." Another boosted BANG echoed, massive mechanical legs reaching and touching down on the ground before rocketing back into the air. Terryn would likely only catch a fading glimpse of the massive, flying robot cat before it stopped and reared back with the Doragon and saiyan upon her back. "BYYYEEEEEeeeeeeeee!" One last call echoed before, with little more than a flash, the mecha rocketed off and disappeared with her passengers.
-- THREAD EXIT -- T'was a fun thread! Feel free to ring up Carro for future shenanigans later.

''Ow! What the hell, man?''
Terryn coughed into his hand, glancing at Banzo with a difficult look on his face. The Trooper grumbled momentarily, before rolling his eyes. Sure, he guessed Banzo was right, although that didn't make it any less disappointing for him. Terryn sighed to himself, why did this have to be so difficult and complex? C'mon, if that tiny dude can get a girlfriend, why can't he?!
''Right, right. Training, yeah.'' Terryn nodded to himself, getting his thoughts back on track. He breathed out before looking up at Banzo as he flew off to...God knows where. ''Yeah, I got it dude! Seeya later!'' The Trooper shouted at him, giving him a quick wave.
Now left with Carro and Cutie, Terryn glanced at them. Seemed like they were ready to head off as well, but not after one final offer. ''Crop Co's CEO...? Damn, guess you are pretty important after all.'' Terryn's eyes widened a tad. While not too much of a tech geek, nearly everyone knew Crop Co! They were a huge deal on Earth! And being able to use their training equipment...?
''A-Awesome!''
A smile grew on the Earthling's face, now he finally wouldn't be forced to use shitty, dated weights! ''Think we'll take you up on that offer. Thanks...'' And for the pizza, too. He felt a bit bad accepting it just like that, but turning down a nice gesture like that would be even worse, right?
Terryn heard a gigantic something stomp it's way closer to them for a while now, but ignored it mostly. It was only when Tianum called out for it that Terryn grew curious. His gaze moved from the distance to the two of them, smiling faintly. ''Mhh! When this is all over, let's throw a party or something.'' When, and if. There was still no saying if any of them would survive. But they could only hope for the best now, right?
Before Terryn even knew it, Carro and Tianum left the scene, riding atop...Whatever it was. Was that a mech? Damn...
''S-Seeya!''
He threw a hand into the air to wave at them, but they were already gone.
And just like that, Terryn was alone. His arm lowered to his side, and for a moment, he simply stood there, bewildered. The Trooper blinked owlishly as the wind brushed past him, softly ruffling his messy hair. Everything seemed to return to normal in that moment. Cars zoomed past in the distance, birds chirped happily, and people talked amongst themselves. Everything was still...Normal.
After a long silence, Terryn lowered his head and smiled to himself. He finally felt warm again. All it took was someone to rekindle the fire within him. Hope wasn't lost yet after all. But things were only going to get harder...He knew that much.
But first, he had a pizza to finish, hadn't he?
Terryn looked up again, and slowly opened his eyes. The tiniest of bittersweet tears was flicked away before the Pride Trooper turned around and walked off.
The clouds broke apart to let warm rays of sunlight fall onto the city. Things were going to be okay.
