Orion's Journey: Even The Lowest Can Rise

THE STORY SO FAR

BACKGROUND: FAMILY HISTORY

The bloodline from which Orion hails dates back to the ancient days of the Saiyan Race. It is said that they served as warriors amongst their people for thousands of years. In more recent recorded history it is known that this bloodline bred fighters classified as Mid Class to Low Class Saiyans, with the rare Elite, who fought for Planet Vegeta at least as far back as the days of the Saiyan Solar Empire. Although lesser than the Elite Class they still were given a certain measure of respect due to their family's long service to the Throne.

In modern times this line has fallen from this path. Orion's Grandfather, Onio, was the last great warrior of this line, an Elite, rising to be a Captain in the SDF. However his two children abandoned the path of the soldier. His son became an Engineer and his daughter became a Biologist, both academics. In time his son would marry a Botanist but thankfully his daughter at least married a warrior so some shame was averted in the old man's eyes. Unfortunately each of these couples would go on to have disappointing children in his eyes.

The first was Orion who worshipped his Grandfather's way of life and dedicated his life but unfortunately he was weak and classified as a Low Class Warrior. A year later Topaeo was born to Onio's daughter. At first things looked hopeful as this boy was considered an Elite due to his Power Level at birth and his warrior father sought to train him from a young age. Unfortunately it soon became obvious that Topaeo had neither the interest nor inclination to be a combatant and he began studying Botany under his aunt, Orion's mother, eventually becoming the Royal Botanist and maintaining the Palace Gardens.

As far as Onio was concerned his line might as well be dead however not that the old man has passed only Orion continues to carry on the mighty lineage and carry on he shall.

CHAPTER 0: ORION'S PRELUDE
Orion has not had an easy life. First he was classified as a Low Class and suffered all the restrictions to his career and the prejudice that came with it. Then, despite his warrior profession and dedication to his training, he has found it hard to raise his meagre strength over the years only managing a somewhat respectable level of combat prowess.

After graduating from the academy Orion joined the Saiyan Defence Force as a Private despite his respectable grades at the educational institute it was deemed that his strength and status was too low for an officer position. Originally planning to rise in the ranks and prove the upper classes wrong Orion eventually became utterly bored the the humdrum life on the peaceful planet. Eventually he made contact with a mercenary and retiring from the military he joined the hired warriors.

During his years in the Mercenary Company 'The Raging Ōzarus' as a member of their 1st Assault Company, an all Saiyan Division, under the leadership of Commander Daiko. For a time Orion was the weakest of the warriors amongst his people in the band he slowly grew stronger before eventually discovering a method of greatly accelerating his growth. Zenkai. He would soon abuse this by suicidally charging the enemy and taking grave injuries in battle before coming back stronger than before, this behaviour also garnered more respect from his fellow Saiyans for this madness. This exceptionally risky attitude came to an end when a young Saiyan woman from his Company struck him while he was healing in the hospital and told him to stop being a fool before threatening to kill him if he kept it up.

This young woman, Yarrou, would go on to spend a lot of time with Orion over the years as the trained, ate, slept and fought alongside one another before they eventually admitted their attraction and affection to one another (being too Saiyan to utter Love out loud). The two were they announced as an official mating couple.

The all Saiyan Assault Company eventually took a leave of absence on a forced vacation under Daiko's command. Here Orion reconnected with his estranged parents and introduced them to Yarrou which went well, later he would spent some awkward nights with Yarrou's far too big family. Unfortunately a short period before they where scheduled to leave the Arcosian Invasion on Planet Vegeta occurred. Fighting for his survival Orion and Yarrou managed to escape although few others of their Company did. Later Orion got a message from his family stating they had got off-world and were safe.

Later Orion and his mate arrived back at the Command Centre for 'The Raging Ōzarus' and retired their position. The pair then acting on rumours about a surviving Prince, and possibly other parts of the Kingdom's leadership, had fled to Earth. Yarrou wishing for revenge and Orion wishing for glorious battle both grabbed two Space Pods and set source of the backwater planet.
