Yogu flies forward, going close to as fast as he can go, and slams his elbow into Nashi! Or at least, that's what he thought for a moment. In reality, Nashi had deflected the attack, and Yogu was being sent crashing into the flowerbed below. "OW! Damn it... I might have to transform..." Yogu stares at Nashi as the senbyō explained how he could turn his staff into a spear using ki. "Man that thing really is amazing! Transforming might really be my only option... No, ya know what?! I can't keep relying on transformations to win! Just have to figure out a strategy before he brings that stick down on me..." Nashi suddenly pauses and seems to be recalling something. "Now's my chance! If get a good hit in here, I might be able to win!" Yogu's right first suddenly explodes with ferocious ki. "This is my chance! KI FOCUS!" If all goes well, Yogu punches Nashi right in the chest with his ki-infused fist, sending him flying back!
Yogu jumps up, "Alright! I need to follow up quick before he has a chance to use the staff again!" Yogu leaps into the air, coming down right above Nashi! Just before he lands on top of him, Yogu stops himself mid-air and starts punching wildly, trying to find some purchase. In the middle of the barrage of punches, Yogu puts all his weight into a punch and completely misses! He's thrown forward, ending up behind Nashi, and is open to attack! "How the hell did I make such a careless mistake?! Guess it just shows how much training I need..." Yogu attempts to turn around and punch Nashi, but it's probably too late for that.
OOC: Yogu's getting serious!
Yogu attacks Nashi with [N1] Ki Focus, dealing 33% or 11,612 PL Damage!
If Yogu transformed, Nashi would have to transform as well, and their ‘conflict’ wouldn’t have progressed in the slightest. If anything would have come from that, it would have been unnecessary pain and strain, at least on Nashi’s part. Although perhaps his words would be lost in the sound of it all… perhaps the not-actually-entirely-human would come to that conclusion on his own.
These words were so distant, devoid of meaning. They sounded as if they were whispered a kilometre away with a meter of teflon muffling in between. Forcefully, and seemingly without source, Nashi was hit in the chest by a powerful, upwards force! ”What the—”
The world came into focus. The pains of the past were soon replaced by the pains of his stomach being punched real hard. Yogu was there as well, meeting Nashi in the air to riddle the dead hero with a medley of punches. Just as Nashi fully re-embraced the surrounding reality (although he didn’t have an awful lot of say in it) he moved to the side for a particularly hefty attack, avoiding it entirely!
Without even giving the attack its usual ‘Blue Bro Ball’ introduction, Nashi immediately charged up the usual blue ball of ki, where’d he’d swing it into Yogu’s disadvantaged frame!
Woops, I mustn’t have explained it very well, but Nashi’s ki spears and his Power Pole are separate. He does not turn the Power Pole into his spears.
wait forgot stats 49% damage dealt sending Blue Bro Ball for 7,889PL 2/3KP

Whatever Nashi was so deep in thought about was no longer on his mind anymore. He had certainly been snapped back into reality by Yogu's attack! "If he keeps spacing out like that, I should be able to win this fight easily!" As Yogu came down towards Nashi for his barrage of punches, he starts to lecture the warrior. "Hey, Nashi! You should focus more on the fight!" Yogu's barrage of punches almost all hit Nashi! All except the final punch, which Yogu had put all of his weight into, causing him to be open for an attack. Nashi took advantage of this, and fired a ki attack directly at Yogu! "Damn it! I don't have time to dodge..." Yogu takes a direct hit, being thrown back into the ground by the ball of ki.
Yogu doesn't stay down for long, however. He quickly jumped up and got back into his stance of putting his arms up. "Man, I guess we really do need training! That attack didn't hurt much at all. I bet mine didn't hurt much either, right Nashi?" Yogu dashes forward, coming at Nashi head on. If Nashi tries to attack him with the power pole he quickly dives to the side, rolling and getting right back up, breaking into a run again. "Alright! If I'm careful, I should be able to dodge his Power Pole attacks!" Yogu at this point has gotten close to Nashi, and he curls his two hands into fists. "Here I come Nashi!" If Nashi doesn't block or dodge the attacks, his two fists slam into the senbyō's side. If these two punches land, Yogu follows up with an uppercut!
”Yeah, sorry ‘bout that.” He wasn’t sure what happened: his mind must have strayed back to recent memories. He needed to focus on the fight more: if he didn’t, images he’d rather not see might periodically flash into his mind’s eye, throwing him further off focus.
”Nah, it didn’t hurt much.” Yogu dashed straight at him which Nashi countered by swinging a Power Pole his way. Yogu dashed to the side and rolled, but continued running anyway. Nashi quickly retracted his weapon back to near his centre of mass and easily enough positioned it to block Yogu’s attack. ”But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been training. Maybe it means that we’ve trained ourselves to be so resilient that things barely hurt, yeah?”
He’d swing around in a move displaying far more skill than he actually had, trying to smack the back of Yogu’s head with the pole in his motion.
Nashi apologizes for spacing out in the middle of the fight. "It's fine, but we're not going to get much stronger if we aren't focused on our training!" Yogu reached Nashi and punched out, aiming to hit him in the side. His attack was stopped by the power pole. "Hmm... That pole sure is getting annoying... Maybe if I can get it away from him, he'll have a harder time blocking attacks!" After Nashi blocks, he answers Yogu's question. It turns out that neither of their attacks was really damaging the other fighter. Nashi added to the statement, saying it was probably because they had trained to be so durable. But in Yogu's opinion, that was just wishful thinking. "If we were really trained in being durable, then how come we both died so easily?" It was a dark and cold thought, but after how emotional he had gotten just a few minutes ago he was a little spent when it came to any emotions that weren't absolute sadness or anger from his failure. But, he continued to keep up his shell of being happy and cheerful. "Yeah, that's probably it!"
Then, Yogu takes a pole to the back of the head. "OWWW!" As Yogu falls, he catches himself again, but instead of going into a handstand and jumping behind Nashi like he did before, he immediately pushes off the ground, aiming his feet at his sparring partner! "Alright! Now that's some quick thinking! Although I did get the idea from what I did before." Right before his weird kick connects with Nashi, he begins to charge them with ki! "I don't have enough time to charge it... So it's time for another KI FOCUS!" If all went well, he'd kick Nashi in the chest, or at least that's what he thought. He might've pushed a little too hard, but it was too late. His feet were about to collide with Nashi's face if the cat man didn't do anything!
OOC: Yogu does some quick thinking and tries to kick Nashi with a ki-infused fist!
Yogu attacks Nashi with [N1] Ki Focus! If he takes the attack, it will do another 11,612 or 49% of PL Damage!
Yogu fell, caught himself, pushed himself off the ground and began kicking, all seemingly within a single motion— a single instant!
But not all was as it seemed. No, his legs would charge up with a familiar colour, a familiar flavour. This, Nashi recognised, was the Ki Focus… hei had seen too many of those in recent memory. However, regardless of how much or how little he recognised the attack, there simply wasn’t enough time to dodge, to deflect it, to block it, anything! Not even his Power Pole, safely held in his hands and detracting from the blow to the back of Yogu’s head, could save him.
The kick hit Nashi with such force and power that he disappeared from view entirely! All that was left was the thwoomsh of such a sudden, powerful motion. Had Yogu won so easily?
Perhaps, or perhaps not. They were sparring partners, friends, and such a (comparatively) weak attack shouldn’t have done something on that scale. There were techniques designed to dodge that sort of thing, weren’t there? There was the Zanzoken, a miraculous technique invented by the mystical God of Martial Arts, Korin, the First Senbyō. Yes, perhaps such a technique would be passed on through the generations, through successive Senbyōs, and perhaps, just perhaps…
As if teleporting out of thin air, Nashi reappeared behind Yogu, a fully formed Blue Bro Ball flying out of his hands!
Sorry this took a while. I’ve got some big exams coming up.
[SU1] Blue Bro Burst used to dodge Ki Focus! [N1] Blue Bro Ball shot! 7,889PL damage headed for Yogu!
Just before the kick connected, Nashi disappears! Yogu lands on his feet and begins to look around. "Hmm... Where'd he go? I don't think my attack connected..." Yogu puts his fists up, ready to block any punches, kicks, or pole attacks thrown at him. However, nothing like that was going to hit him. Nashi suddenly appears, and Yogu begins to think up a strategy to counter an attack from the Power Pole. Any plans that he made were immediately canceled out when Nashi fires another massive ball of Ki at him! "Oh crap, OH CRAP!" As the ball of ki comes hurtling towards Yogu, he instinctively begins to charge up an attack. "Alright! I don't have enough time to charge up to a Ki Overdrive again sooo... KI FOCUS!"
Yogu runs forward, meeting the burning ball of blue ki head on! "LET'S SEE WHO'S STRONGER!" Yogu punches the ball of ki, and after a moment of struggling, pierces through it causing it to dissipate! "Looks like I'm a little bit stronger, huh Nashi?" Yogu keeps running, him overpowering Nashi's attack giving him encouragement! Yogu becomes a blur as he manages to get up close, before trying to uppercut his friend into the air! If the hit connects, he follows up by flying into the air above Nashi and kicking the senbyō into the flower bed below! Yogu "Nashi, I'm no longer holding back! It's like you said, we have to train 'til we reach the limits of our power, and then train anyway! That's the only way we'll beat the Stargoons! That's the only way we can deliver justice where no one else can!" What he was saying now was a stark contrast to what he had said earlier, but Yogu didn't care. What Nashi had said was right, they needed to be heroes. After he finishes his little speech, he takes a deep breath and gets ready to continue training.
OOC: Yog boi wants to be a hero now.
EDIT: Yogu attacks again with [N1] Ki Focus! But Ki Focus and Blue Bro Ball are within 80% of each other so they fizzle. Apologies for the mistake, I had forgotten that this was a rule.
In response to Nashi’s own Blue Bro Ball, Yogu was bringing up the usual Ki Focus aura of his own! He punched the blue ball, the two shades of blue giving and taking until, nary a moment later, they found an equivalency in the other and were cancelled back to null.
But, not quite: Yogu’s attack was stronger, and although not much of the remainder— read: not at all— hurt Nashi, there was still an amount of it. Blue, regardless of particular shade, he admitted, is resilient.
Perhaps because of this energy, or perhaps just because of the smoke/steam caused by the conflict of their kis masking him, Nashi was not able to avoid the blur that was Yogu smashing into him and uppercutting him into the air! He was hit at an awkward angle that, aside from hurting, made speech difficult, but the quips were more important: ”Don’t you know, friend?” Or, at least quip openings?
Yogu tried to follow up his attack with attack 2: electric boogaloo. He flew up and tried to kick Nashi into a bed of flowers below, but the cat managed to move to the side in a moment of feline grace. ”A cat always lands on its feet!” He’d grab Yogu’s leg, having moved right next to it, and try to throw him into that very flower bed.

Yogu lands his uppercut, but when he went to send Nashi crashing into the flowers, he slipped up! "How is he able to move that fast after taking a hit?! Is our strength a lot closer than I thought?" Yogu feels a tight grip on his leg before suddenly crashing towards the flowers below! "SHIIIIIIT!" A giant mass of flowers and dirt are thrown into the air from his crash landing. Yogu almost hits a rather large rock before managing to stop himself. "Woah!" He jumps to his feet and looks around at the destruction. "I hope this wasn't someone's garden..." He turns back up to Nashi and yells out. "ALRIGHT! I'm gonna start getting serious now! Time to use my special technique!" Yogu cracks his knuckles and gets into the closest thing to a fighting stance he can think of.
Then, he began to worry. "That was a total bluff! I got nothing! I'm too tired to use an actually strong attack, and coming at him with another Ki Focus is wayyy too predictable. I have to be smart about this. Gotta come up with a strategy... Eh, I'll just wing it." They were very close in power, to the point where if Nashi attacked with ki, he could probably defend with an attack of his own. "Alright! I think I've got it!" Yogu takes a deep breath, pretending to charge up ki for a powerful attack! He then launches up at Nashi swinging punches wildly! "COME ON NASHI! HIT ME WITH ALL YOU'VE GOT!" If Yogu was lucky, Nashi would take the bait, get scared, and go on the defensive, giving him time to regain his ki. Although it didn't seem too likely. OOC: Don't know how I feel about the quality of this post, but I didn't want to keep you waiting.
Also, thanks for letting me know quotes get added to the autograder!
If it were someone’s garden, Nashi suspected, they’d be being yelling at by now. Sometimes it was best not to think about such matters, after all: when he thought about gardens he thought about his father’s garden, and when he thought about that his mind logically went on to think about…
Anyway. It seemed that Yogu’s special technique wasn’t so much ‘special’, and not all that much of a ‘technique’. Nashi controlled his breathing for the few moments he had before Yogu would come at him.
But, perhaps he should be worried? Maybe it was a trap! Maybe Yogu wanted him in close range! Then he wouldn’t have announced it so carelessly, now, would he have? Maybe Yogu wanted to spook Nashi away, to do his actual ‘special technique’ from there! … But, that was pretty obvious. Surely, he wanted Nashi only to think that, so that he’d stay in close range to be decimated by Yogu’s special technique! … Or, maybe, that’s just what he wants me to think, and— That continued on for a while, stopping only when the rebellious youth came in with a series of strong but graceless punches. Nashi would dodge or redirect his blows, with the Power Pole or otherwise, and even make strikes of his own— but the two were tantamount to equivalent in power, and neither would have been able to overpower the other.
"Heh, you're really strong! I'm having as hard a time hitting you as you are me!" Did... did that make grammatical sense? Whatever.
S’all good, sorry for another long wait. I should be able to do posts for a few weeks, and then the HSC will be on (which I’ll have to take a formal break of a few weeks for).
Well, Yogu's plan didn't really work that well. In fact, it hadn't worked at all. Nashi had been meeting Yogu's hits with even more hits! "Man, I'm starting to really get tired! Just need a little bit more time... Then I should be able to pull off an actually strong attack!" But, as Yogu jumped back from the barrage of punches him and Nashi were throwing, he began to get second thoughts. "But what if Nashi has a move up his sleeve that I don't know about? Maybe that pole can do some other crazy stuff... I need to be smart about this." This seemed to be the first fight that Yogu realized he had to strategize. Back in school, he had always punched his way out of any situation. Then, when he left to go on a globe-trotting adventure, he'd always lose in fights because he did the exact same thing. "I just... Have to keep... A clear head... Oh Kami, I'm tired..."
Yogu thought about the fight once again, all he had been doing was throwing the same attack at Nashi over and over again. Sure, he had landed one hit on the senbyō, but aside from that, he had just tired himself out. "I don't like it, but I have no choice but to go on the defensive. I'll wait until Nashi comes at me with a strong attack, then try to dodge and counter!" That's when Nashi says something that gets Yogu a little worried. Nashi noted that they were both having trouble landing a blow on the other. "Crap, that probably means he's going to use a ki attack now! I just gotta be ready." Yogu gets back into his poorly thought out fighting stance and watches Nashi closely for any hint of a ki attack. OOC: Sorry if this seems low quality, haven't made a post in awhile.
Uh oh. They’ve been continually hitting and dodging each other for a while now. This meant that, inevitably, Yogu would use one a ki attack— no doubt one of those fancy powerful Ki Focuses. It was clear. Why else, he posited, would he be so defensive if he wasn’t charging up one of ‘em? It was clear: if he wanted to win, he’d need to strike first. No more acting only in response to the actions of others, he had to counterbalance his reaction with some action! Yes, what he had to do was obvious: he had to strike, before Yogu could!
He’d try to knock Yogu back, at least a bit, with a weak kiai of blue and an unwelcoming hissing sound. Given his space, he’d begin…
”Blue!” The energy of the kiai flocked back to his frame. It began to form a ball. ”Bro!” It was now fully formed, fully spherical and fully ready for a whoppin’! ”Ball!” He underhandedly pegged it, straight for Yogu!
Surprised I haven't used it yet, but I'm using the Power Pole special ability now! [N1] Blue Bro Ball fired for free! 7,810PL headed straight for Yogu!
While Yogu was lost in thought, Nashi managed to hit him! It didn't hurt that much, but it did knock him back a little bit. "Hey Nashi, if you're going to attack me, at least put some power behind it- Oh no..." Nashi was definitely charging up a ki attack, he even started saying the name of the technique! "Ok, think! How should I counter this?! I have enough energy for one good hit! But that attack is going to weaken it by a lot..." Again, while Yogu was thinking out a strategy, the attack came soaring through the air, striking him in the gut! "AGH!" Yogu is sent flying into the air, up towards the pink puffy clouds.
For a moment, Yogu's vision became blurry, to the point where he couldn't even see Nashi back on the ground. By the time he focused back up, he was already in a free fall coming back towards the flowerbed below. "Hmm... I guess I could stop myself and float down. Buuuuut..." A dark blue aura exploded around Yogu. "Alright! I can already tell this is going to go great!" As Yogu got ever closer to the ground, he aimed himself towards Nashi and put his fist out. "Ki... OVER... DRIIIIVE!" If everything goes according to plan, Yogu will land a punch right across Nashi's face and send him into the dirt. OOC: Yogu takes a direct hit from the Blue Bro Ball, but shortly after returns fire with a [MP3] Enraged Ki Overdrive! If the attack lands, Yogu will deal 35,187 PL damage!
The kiai succeeded in its purpose of sending Yogu backwards, but that wasn’t the bit Nashi was especially concerned about. The Blue Bro Ball succeeded in its purpose of… well, not anything specific, mostly just dealing a bunch of damage to the Crimson Struck.
It hit, but that didn’t mean that Yogu was out for the count. No, by the looks of it, he had plenty more fight in him! He was charging up a lot of ki— a lot a lot— and was ready to use what could easily have been the strongest attacks of the match!.. the most powerful so far, that is.
Nashi did not move, nor budge, nor falter. He merely stood there, feet like anchors, calmed his breathing and began to spin around the Power Pole with an unprecedented elegance. ”I want to see all of your power. Don’t hold back!” As Yogu neared in with his seemingly unsurpassable speed, Nashi began to jump from side to side. His jumps became greater in force and speed, as did the area covered. In nary an instant the two extremities of his movement moved and bent, until he was moving around in a circle! Not only that, but his extreme speed was beginning to show a dozen afterimages!
”You can’t catch me— you’re too slow!”
As soon as Yogu found his Enraged Ki Overdrive smashing through the air, he’d find a Blue Bro Ball smashing straight at the back of his neck!
”Blue Bro Bayonara, Bogu!”
[MP3]Enraged Ki Overdrive only just dodged through [SU2]Blue Bro Bolt! [N1]Blue Bro Ball sent for 7,810PL! Again!
This was it! There was no way Yogu could lose now! He was just too strong and too fast for Nashi to evade. "HAHAHA! LOOKS LIKE I WIN NASHI!" Yogu dashes forward and swings his punch, but it doesn't land. "WHAT?!" Then, another Ki Orb hits him in the back of the head, launching him forward. When he got up this time, Yogu wasn't thinking of a new strategy or thinking about how tired he was. He was angry. Angry at himself for promising both him and Nashi to be stronger and failing. "I'M GOING TO BE STRONGER, DAMNIT! EVEN IF IT TAKES ALL OF ETERNITY! I WILL GET STRONGER, COME BACK TO EARTH, AND SAVE MY HOME!"
Yogu launches an all-out attack at Nashi. Swinging wildly, no longer trying to do some fake-out, not thinking up some plan. This was all he had left. Yogu takes a step back and stumbles. "D-Damnit..." His vision begins to blur and he falls over, flat on his back. "Can't even win without relying on transformations..." He quickly slips into unconsciousness, thinking about how weak he is. OOC: Forgot about this thread again, but I have no muse for it so I will be leaving the thread here.
