One of the things Sesame enjoyed was just listening. Being a sound demon he picked up even very low sounds without much trouble. He could hear things in the more clear of details. Right now he was in a local Karaoke bar. He could listen to the bad signing and the occasional good song. He could also get a drink and just find rumors around the bar. Sesame turned his head watching some of the people walking through the bar getting drinks. The shinning lights and blaring music. There was a couple of people dancing too. It was just a relaxing bar in North city. He looked over as an old bartender rubbed down a cup looking at Sesame. Sesame smiled as he moved to get a cup to drink. The man slid the alcoholic beverage to him. He began to drink down looking about to see what was going on or what could be going on. Just listening to the sounds around him absorbing everything around him. He wanted to live every moment to the last drop. He didn't want to die one day with regrets. Tonight, he'd hopefully not gain any more.

Van-80 PL: 16,000 Ima PL: 5,000
Ima was beside herself, trying and failing miserably to handle all of the foreign thoughts, senses, and of course emotions that came with having a body. Today she was feeling a mixture of excited panic. The excitement came from her first time ever going into the city on her own two feet. Meanwhile panic set in because she still had no idea how to be human, even a synthetic one.
“Van! It's a bar!” she called bouncing on the balls of her feet.
Her partner in beauty was trotting behind her, trying desperately to keep up. “Indeed it is my dear. Want to go inside?”
Ima didn’t waste any time, pulling the male android by the wrist. “Yes, please! I’ve never had alcohol before! I still have no idea why humans like it.” So the two walked into the scene of dancing lights, dancing patrons, and both of their first time seeing someone sing live. The recently reborn android took a seat at the bar with Van, and the bartender asked them what they wanted to drink. “Oh! So soon? I have no idea. My first alcoholic beverage…”
“Better make it good,” Van joked, already having a good idea how the AI will react to the taste.
“Hmmm,” Ima placed a finger to her new lips, “Bartender, what beverage would you recommend for a first time drinker?” The barman gave a slight chuckle, looking over at Vanity, who simply gave him a wink in return. “Oh! This Bao’s Splasher sounds interesting, perhaps I should try it.”
“Oh lord, that’s a lot of alcohol,” Van tried to warn his partner, but she went on to order a straight up shot of whiskey along with her mixed drink. This made both the server and android break out laughing.
“Did I say something humorous?”
“Not at all Ima,” breathed the pretty boy through gritted teeth, trying to hold back more laughter. “I’ll have the same, including the shot, I don’t think it's fair to let my friend suffer alone.” The barman walked away, still chuckling to himself. “Truth is, I simply find it hysterical that you are pretty much a supercomputer on legs, yet you know surprisingly little.”
“Well,” the AI began her face burning a slight pink, “In all honesty, I feel as though I should not try and look everything up, I want to experience everything just like you can and did. Now that I have a body of my own, it is as if my processing has its own style. I don’t just want to know, I want to learn!” Van-80 gave his once internalized AI a warm smile. He knew exactly what she meant. Being trapped in his own head a few times he knew what it was like to be looking from the inside out, feeling like your actions can’t affect the world around you. Now with her own body unlimited by the emergency protocols of the manual takeover, she was given a new outlook on life. Even her voice had ten times more inflection, though her manner of speech was still very robotic at times.
The server swiftly returned with the drinks for the two. Vanity gave his partner a wicked smile as he held up his glass. “I’ll drink to that my dear, shall we start with the shot?” Ima was beside herself as the two small glasses clinked together, and the two threw back their heads.
“Oh my!” Ima cried through coughs, still smiling. “That tasted terrible! And my throat feels warm, yet my internal body temperature should be lowered by this! Oh sir why did you ever drink this liquid?”
“Someone told me being intoxicated can be beautiful,” he shrugged, managing to keep a straight face. Luckily the barman was nice enough to leave the two a glass of water. “Try the splasher, it’ll be much sweeter.” Ima looked at her partner thoughtfully, her hand perched on her cheek. “Something wrong?”
“I want to try it?”
Van gave the female a worried look, “try what exactly?”
“Asking someone what they think true beauty is!”
His concerns evaporated almost instantly “Yes! Do it!”
Ima hopped out of her seat, audibly squealing with delight. “YAY! This will be so much fun! But who do I ask?” She began to scan the establishment. “Who looks the most interesting, like they would really have a good answer,” she thought aloud. Surprisingly her answer was sitting only a few seats away. Hopping over to the seat next to a pink humanoid creature, she decided to pose their ever present question. Unfortunately, a new singer took her place at the karaoke machine. The singer was loud, likely more than a little tipsy, but surprisingly talented despite their alcoholic haze. “Excuse me sir!” she called over the song, “May I ask you a question?” She quickly glanced back at Van, who gave her a thumbs up. “What do you think true beauty is?”
congratulations! This is the first thread since her body’s creation that features android Ima! YAY! Incase you can't tell she's asking you sesame.

Seasme sat and watched everyone have a good time. He really didn't know what to do honestly. He was enjoying listening to the music and the chatter but that was all he was doing. Not that any of that was really that interesting. Then came in two new figures. One was a young woman and the other a young man. He turned back his ears perked up as he listened to them. Not that his fault he could hear everything in the bar. She seemed to be new to drinking. That what he picked up. Then the man said something odd. About how she a supercomputer on legs. So she was an android? He'd sit there and relax as he grabbed a nearby drink he had bought earlier in the day. He drank it down letting out a sigh. Then someone approached him.
The Android was listening to earlier walked over and began to ask a question. She asked what he thought true beauty was. He put a hand to his chin as he started to think. He really had never thought of such a question. He didn't try and worry about that stuff. He did love listening to nature though. Sounds that came from everywhere that many times people would miss. But that was that truly the most beautiful thing in the world? Maybe for him but he was really unsure. Perhaps that was it though. It was what they missed. People so focused on themselves they didn't hear the sounds or see the sights that were right in front of them. He grabbed a piece of paper from his bag. Since he could not talk that much nor did he see the point yet he decided to write it down for her. "I think it is what we miss. The sounds and sights that we don't see. The ones that we glance over. That is where beauty is found." Sesame lifted the paper and showed it to her.

Both androids were taken aback, this was one of the less straightforward answers despite its simplicity. “The things we miss,” Ima repeated back to herself. She remembered all the times the two of them went searching for some physical and completely obvious form of supposed beauty, most notably the time Van went to catch a shooting star. “I’m going to try that,” Ima announced out loud. She then began to scan the room, though not with any sort of sensor, just like any other human would. Simply looking and listening. There were people dancing, singing, cheering, drinking, generally just having a good time. This certainly could count as something beautiful, and in quite a subtle way despite the noise. Then her attention turned to the singer. Ima had tried to drown them out before so she could enjoy her conversation, but now figured that this too could count as something she missed. After a moment she rubbed her hands through her hair. “Ok, I think I’m literally missing something here, Van-80!”
Van looked up from his splasher, an inquisitive look on his face, “Problem?”
“I don’t understand what he meant!” she cried as if the demon beside her was nonexistent.
The android gave one more chuckle, shifting a couple seats over to join the two. “Forgive my friend here,” he introduced casually, “She’s not accustomed to having her own body, and socializing is a bit of a work in progress. Allow me to introduce ourselves though, I’m Van-80 or Vanity as most call me, and this is my lovely assistant Ima. A pleasure to meet you.” Van would allow the third person a chance to introduce himself should he chose before continuing. “See, I think what’s tripping my friend up here is that our primary goal is to not only discover but spread true beauty. Most people give us very easy to grasp answers. For example, our best answer so far was the ability to create,” he placed a hand on Ima’s shoulder proudly, referring to the expert job of creating an entire body. “So I suppose what I’m trying to say if anything, is how would you really go about spreading such an abstract concept of beauty?”
All the while Ima was still observing the crowd, trying to bob her head in the rhythm of the music. “Van?” she cut in quickly.
“Yes?”
“I would like to try singing, would that be okay?” The male android said nothing, only gave her a wide smile and a wave of the hand. Ima excitedly bounced over to the Karaoke machine, hopping over to a large board with the list of songs scrolling through it. Van then returned his attention to the demon.

He'd look at Ima as she seemed to listen to her surroundings. She seemed to be trying to understand what he meant. She seemed to really not understand at all what he meant. Her friend walked over afterward. He got a better look at him. Red hair with a humanoid build. He sat down next to them as he began to explain what they were looking for. First, though he introduced himself. He was Van-80 or Vanity. So both were androids? Guess it explained why they were with each other. Their goal was to discover true beauty and what that was. He nodded along. He didn't understand that well why that could be so important but he'd go with it. Everyone had their own passions it was not his place to judge theirs.
There best answers were to create. That was a pretty good answer he supposed. It was not a bad thought. Yet, at the same time, he didn't agree. Sure, creation was beautiful but also things they were created, were not always good. Regardless he was just thinking of how to respond. Then he asked how he'd go to spread his concept of beauty. He'd put his hand to his chin before he figured out what he wanted to say. He'd grab his piece of paper and wrote down what he thought. "You have to live your life. When you almost lose it you come to appreciate what you didn't before. So I don't believe its something you can spread. People just have to realize it." That was what he wrote down. He'd turn to look at Ima who seemed to wanna go sing. He flips the page and goes on to write another statement. "She seems to be enjoying herself. Question is if you are. Enjoying every second of your life."

“Quite the talker are we?” the android joked, taking a sip of his drink. Jokes aside he would give the mute his honest opinion. “I see what Ima’s missing. It isn’t something we can physically spread. However,” he stopped to observe his drink, swirling it around in its glass. “People won’t notice it until they almost lose it… The average person doesn’t exactly go around getting themselves killed on an ordinary Sunday night. Unless…” Ima shot her partner a deathly glare from her spot in line, transmitting her message on their internal connection.
“Van no! We agreed we wouldn’t go down that path.”
The male android waved her off, still smiling. “It’s a joke dear.” Of course, as usual, he’d speak out loud despite the lack of necessity.
“A bad one.”
Vanity returned his focus to his conversation partner. “People like you and I, however, I’d be willing to bet we lay down our lives simply with our above average… caliber of existence?”
As he figured, he used that phrase in all manners of incorrectly, as once again his friend cut in. “I do not think 'caliber of existence' would be correct. Or even a thing for that matter.”
This time the android spun around in his seat, “I’m having a conversation here! Weren’t you going to sing or something?” he shouted.
Ima shrugged, “I’m waiting in line.”
Van just rolled his eyes as he returned to the topic at hand. “Sorry about that, she and I have an internal connection, so we can hear each other from practically anywhere. Anyways I digress.” He then looked at the flipped note. “Am I enjoying myself? Currently yes, as vain as it may seem, yes the pun is not lost on me, I enjoy hearing myself talk. Every second though…” This time Van faltered, thinking about all of the hardship he’d faced in the past month alone. “As optimistic as I can be to the point of naivete, I believe it is both impossible and dare I say ugly to enjoy every waking second. For once I don’t mean that in a bad way. After all, could we have beauty without ugly?”
All while Van-80 was showering his new friend with his philosophy on beauty and how it applied to Sesames idea of beauty, Ima finally made it up to the microphone. “Oh no! Van-80 what should I sing?”
Van wasted no time in answering, “Something these people can move to, the last few songs were nice but too toned down for a night like this.” He turned to the pink man, a mischievous smirk on his face as a joke crossed his mind. “What do you think? What would you sing? Or rather, what should my friend sing?”
Sorry that took so long, had to reinvigorate The Tournament of Beauty
