APPEARANCE: Ghosts vary in appearance, and in their innate state carry over the physical characteristics of their past life. Weak ghosts are more ethereal and vague, but powerful ghosts can perfectly mimic the living, and take whatever form they please.
HISTORY: After receiving judgement from King Yemma, most souls are sent to either heaven or hell. While a small amount of exceptional people regain their bodies after a time in the afterlife, most remain as formless wisps. On rare occasion, these souls manage to escape the afterlife without a body. The process of leaving the mortal world twists the wisp into a ghostly spirit, often fragmenting their memories during the process. The ghost is then stuck in a perpetual cycle of phasing between the worlds of the living and the dead. The more powerful a ghost becomes, the more liberty they have with their form. Some regain their memories and even learn to manipulate their forms into humanoid apparitions of their past selves, while others forever succumb to madness.
A Ghost can easily slip through the cracks in the walls between dimensions, provided they know the right people. By expending a Devil Lamp, they can return to the Mortal Realm until they are defeated again. The more times they have been sent back to Hell, however, the harder it is to return. Each resurrection costs an additional lamp from the previous revive. The strain on the soul limits manifestation to once per month.
|Ogres and Ghosts are natural enemies, and have been since the dawn of time. As such, Ghosts have developed a few ways to catch their captors off-guard. Afterimage-type techniques used to avoid attacks from Ogres are doubly effective the first time they are used in a thread.|
|Ghosts are free of the costs mortality brings, but due to this, they are also a bit lackluster in training. Weighted Clothing does not provide any benefit. In addition, Ghosts created through a species-change after death have their XP to PL conversion reduced to .75. |
|Ghosts skirt the boundaries between life and death with ease. This allows them to purchase non-LTO items exclusive to the Afterlife even when in the living world!|
|A ghost focuses all its inner ki and turns itself into a makeshift bomb. This however does return the ghost to the afterlife in its goal to destroy its target. (*Mechanically the ghost would get a attack of 150% PL attack sent at their foe at the cost of their own life. This is a DE only skill that requires 3KP.)|
