Diablo Desert was a place of wonder and mystery as monolithic stone structures jutted out from the land at random intervals and twined their bone-white limbs together to mushroom into an almost billowing roof. The shade cast by these monstrous designs of a million years work was cool to the touch and could relieve the stress of any lucky enough to pass under one while traveling. Though if one were trying to find such a structure to hide beneath it meant they were likely already unlucky enough and had been forced to trek across the inhospitable landscape.
This was how Azarath found herself and became nearly hateful at the idea of a place like this existing. It offended her with the lack of natural life and easy prey as the only food she had been able to come across was the stray lizard or bird which had flown to low and she had instantly snatched from the air. There wasn't even a reason for the Majin to be out here at this time seeing as how it had been a week or so since her last visit to South City when she encountered those two jerks that had kicked her out and she was more than likely either forgotten about or the damage had repaired enough that she could waltz in and begin to eat stores out of business again.
She had only come to the desert to see what sorts of food could be dug out of the craggy ground and what kind of eclectic mix of tastes came from such an ugly place but all she had to pay for it was misfortune and disappointment as the lizards were small and unfilling and the bugs even smaller! Sure they had a bit more potency than regular lizards down south which were softer in their nice and wet habitat but ever since learning about things like 'cooking' and 'food preparation' she had begun to enjoy actually eating things and not just absorbing.
"Nyaaahhh~" she sighed forlorn while moving back into the harsh desert sun and feeling it beat against her pink skin. It was a bit much for this early in the day with so little food and Azarath could feel her mouth water at the thought of a cool drink and some fish to gobble down. This awful awful place was actually making her miss the ocean and all of the bland tastes that came with it! Even the sharks which were always so rough and tasteless were better than nothing!
The gentle gurgling bubble of a stream echoed against the side of Azarath's head and she instantly snapped to attention with barely concealed glee. Had she heard that right? Had the gentle 'splosh' of water breaking and the sound of a running stream truly just been heard and not some terrible delusion?
Azarath raced off towards the sound with boundless excitement, unable to hold herself back and digging grooves into the rock as each footfall caused a small crater to form and launch her dozens of feet forward. She would come to a skidding halt minutes later in front of one of the single most beautiful sights the young Majin had ever laid eyes on.
Green grass so plump with life it seemed to shine sprouted out from the harsh desert sand speckled with pink and white flowers that gave an almost ethereal feeling to the tropical little corner of paradise. A large reservoir of water sat directly in the center of the oasis surrounded by a few sparse trees laden with those same flowers and ledd to another bone-white construct of stone from which an infinite stream seemed to gush into the pool.
Azarath poked at the pool of water and 'ooed' at the cool feel of it against her finger, so clear she could see the small amount of fish swimming inside and was quick to dive in to snatch them up. To her surprise the inside of the pool was smooth stone likely from however long this stream had collected here.
With a happy little jingle the Majin laid back into the pool of water and made to relax in the sun, now not so harsh with the cool water to refresh and a spot of shade made by the arching stone monoliths that surrounded the oasis, "Ahaaa~"
