AN UNSCHEDULED INTERMISSION | Ramen's PL: 54,000 |
Everyone loves going to the movies, and a little dash of evil into the bloodstream probably isn’t enough to change that for most people. At the very least, the theatres in the newly renamed Badman City were still in full operation as if nothing had happened. Ramen strode through one of them, dressed in her light blue gi with battle-armour on display. The smart thing might have been to try to show up in disguise, but she had never been very good at doing the smart thing. Hell, she lectured the Arcosian about patience and getting back-up before even coming here, but here she was. Alone, and probably looking for a fight. But first, she wanted answers. As she walked through the theatre, it was hard not to notice average citizens shooting her an endless stream of dirty looks. For whatever reason, they didn’t seem to like her. The lady at the counter didn’t even seem to want to accept her zeni for a ticket.
So, the people here were evil. And as much as it broke her heart to see average people suddenly brought low, half of the looks weren’t even all that familiar. Maybe instead of making people evil, those villains actually just made people act like they did while they were driving all the time? A permanent state of road rage? Whatever the case, she was content to have a little fun with it. As she passed the ticket-taker, she flashed a little wink in response to his unpleasant glare and snide comment about her shoulder-pads. “Relax, buddy!” she called over her shoulder. “I’m a paying customer, after all!”
As entertaining as it might be, there was still a reason she was here. Lurking somewhere in this theatre was an unusually strong power, and though she found her senses weren't exactly operating to their usual effectiveness since she arrived in the city, there was no mistaking this one. And given they were seemingly content to just lounge around this city, they might well be one of the ones responsible. But this theatre was basically a maze! After walking in circles up and down the halls trying to find the right theatre entrance, she ducked back into the off-limits, maintenance access. It was noisy in here, locked behind loudspeakers and massive screens, but it wasn't long until she found the correct room.
She could hear the music from the movie in the room rising higher and higher as the movie reached its finale...
And then she threw her weight into the back of the screen and shattered her way through the movie! it was time for an intermission. She raised her hand and fired a ki blast towards the projector in the back of the room, further ensuring she ruined the movie for all in attendance. "Okay, kids! I'm here to interview the baddies responsible with a punch to the face!"
Ramen has come to Badman City to ruin a fun day at the movies! Chamil

AN UNSCHEDULED INTERMISSION
CHAMIL'S BASE PL: 34,000
"...You done there?" A voice rang from behind Ramen. Right behind the human was the seven-foot-tall "mayor" of Badman City in the flesh, casually sipping down a medium-sized grape Hetap, popcorn in her other hand. Chamil was on her way to the theater beside this one to see that Goo Father movie Mumbo seemed to enjoy so much, but... She couldn't sense her control on this human, despite her cruel actions to the movie-goers. Odd. Her earlier proclamation about punching baddies made it pretty clear to Chamil that she was much like the other "heroes" she and the other Stargoons murdered in the coldest of blood- up on the high-horse of goodiness, but nothing like the benevolent Z-Fighters of old at heart.
The goat's gaze narrowed as her horns coursed with energy, similar to the passive aura radiating from each and every permanent resident of the city. "I'm booked until five tomorrow if you want to fight or something equally stupid, so don't bother." Chamil waved a hand dismissively with a glare, turning around to eye the other theater, the sound of previews still echoing. If the kid insisted on picking a bone with the Badman overlord, well... She did have the other Stargoons on speed-dial, even though she did leave a note back at their place letting them know of her whereabouts.

Even if she hadn't been able to sense this goat-lady's power, the casual, even dismissive way she approached Ramen was enough to clue her in that this was someone fairly important. Still, her response wasn't exactly ideal. Ramen just crossed her arms across her chest with a dissatisfied huff, regarding the mayor more carefully. She was powerful, definitely on the tall side, and what's more -- she seemed to have an energy about her that felt eerily similar to that which had befell the whole city. But she couldn't tell just what that meant, exactly... and no amount of trying to sense her out would really help.
"Is that any way to treat a guest?" she retorted, gesturing upwards to the ceiling. A little orb of yellow-white ki formed at her fingertip, fired upwards to blast a hole in the roof of the theatre. "Clear your schedule for the next half-hour. I didn't make this trip just to find out everyone in his city got the common-sense sucked out of them with a soul vacuum or something."
She floated into the air, making her way up to the clearing she had made in the roof. It was a gamble whether the goat would even bother following her or not, and getting outside would expose them to whoever else was lurking around this place. "As long as you're not too threatened by a little, ordinary human," she added with a sweet little smirk. Maybe drawing the woman to show off her powers would tell her a little more about that odd energy.

"How heroic." Chamil clicked her tongue with clear sarcasm as Ramen sent a blast into the air, taking another sip of her drink. "Well I didn't make this trip to be interrupted by a reject Z-Fighter, so..." Chamil chimed, blinking with her usual tired air. But as per her little challenge, the goat's eyes would briefly narrow, silence taking hold- if only for a moment before a grin crept across Chamil's face. "Ohoho! I see what you're doing there- buuuut I know you're trying to play me. That won't work." Chamil raised a hand- she was always the one who tended to pull strings herself, so of course she could figure out the oldest trick in the book when it came to swindling others. Tapping the Scouter on the side of her eye lightly, the goat continued on. "Fifty-four thousand, huh? I couldn't care less how hard you can throw a punch with how smart you're proving yourself to be so far." She sighed, running a hand down her face. "...You aren't leaving no matter what, are you?"
"Isn't this familiar?" The demon paused after speaking to herself, tapping her toe on the ground. "What is it? Out to get revenge for a lover I killed that day? Got some family in this city? Either way, I gave everyone there a chance to leave- a chance to take their loss. Multiple times." Sure, she might have not dirtied her hands herself- that was namely on Maple and Virus, but Chamil's stunt was the reason so many had died during the takeover of the city. "And guess, just guess what they all did." Garon and Cobane could have left while the goat wasn't looking- she gave Kari multiple chances to leave, Yogu and Nashi could have never came or heeded her initial warning to begin with, so on and so on. Not that she was complaining- Chamil relished in the satisfaction of their deaths, but it was a little ridiculous in hindsight. What was even more ridiculous was...
"Hell, they killed themselves! I just stood there as they bickered, went rogue, bailed on each other, and fought one another more than we did. One of 'em even killed another goodie!" The goat narrowed her gaze at Ramen, assuming her to be as hypocritical as the rest of the lot that tried to intervene in her plan. "...Buuuut it seems that nobody's learned their lesson just yet."
Leaning down for a moment to glare at the human as she responded, Chamil would soon straighten herself with a shrug. "Eh. I still can't care." She turned around, walking away from the intrusive human. "Blow up this place if you want. I don't see why I should take time out of my day to deal with a ratty red-haired nobody."
Though, of course, Chamil still had to raise her guard. She was sure she knew Ramen's type all too well.

AN UNSCHEDULED INTERMISSION | Ramen's PL: 54,000 |
She came here, to this cursed city, for a fight. She was knowingly in over her head, probably outnumbered, and staring down the exact same sort of villain that had so terrified her all those months ago. But as she ran through her speech, something about what she was saying made sense, leaving Ramen unable to really retort. If she was the one responsible, she would have heard no shortage of heroic speeches and dealt with countless would-be justicars there to enforce the peace. But evidently, they had all failed. Dead at the hands of this woman, and whoever she had backing her up. But to Ramen’s own surprise, that wasn’t what upset her.
She was bound to kill the people who stood up against her. It was the nature of these unsettling, violent types. It was being dismissed that really set her off. As the demon turned to walk away from her, moments after calling her a ‘ratty red-haired nobody’, she curled her hand into a fist and twitched angrily. She bit down on her lip to stop herself from saying anything rash, merely staring as demon walked away from her. She had come all this way…
“Stop,” Ramen ordered suddenly, her voice taking on a more domineering tone than before. She extended her hand, forming another orb of yellow-white key, firing it off almost immediately towards Chamil's back -- or... just above it? The orb flew over-top the demon, sailing right towards the frame of the exit she was walking towards. She wasn't trying to hit her at all, but rather bring part of the structure collapsing down to halt her exit. She glared daggers at the demon's back before speaking again. "You can drop the condescending act right now. The superiority complex is cute and all, but it’s not going to intimidate me. So why don’t we make a couple things abundantly clear? First, I’m not here to be some ‘reject Z-Fighter’ out to correct the world. I’m not here on some revenge mission for a fallen loved one. I don’t know who you killed, and frankly, that’s not what matters to me. Second, I don't have to be some kind of hero to know that you've earned yourself a couple broken bones."
She jabbed her finger out towards the woman. "Besides, if you overwhelmed this world's defenders to conquer one of its most historic cities, then you're an adversary worth wasting a little time to get to know. So turn around, because we're not done here."

". . ." "Ohoho, you play a dangerous game. I like that, kid."
Chamil's head turned, a sickening, sharp-toothed grin plastered on her face as a flash of yellow energy flashed about her body, if only for a moment before fading. "You'll give me a good fight, I'm sure. Maybe win. Probably, with that power. But I must ask, what does matter to you about this, then?" The demon's back was still turned in spite of her gaze- Chamil wasn't fully won over yet, an uncaring aroma still visible by her slouched and lax posture- yet one fist was now clenched. "Surely, it can't be as cliché as I expected initially."

Chamil's question was a good one. She didn't have a personal connection to this place, she knew she couldn't save the entire city on her own, and nobody she knew had been killed in the city's defense as far as she could tell. What did this matter to her? It was enough to give Ramen momentary pause, a frown appearing as she considered her own answer. Eventually, she just shook her head and rested her hands on her hips. "Flying headlong into enemy territory to threaten one of the ringleaders responsible for a recent conquest? I don't know, that sounds like fun to me."
Her frown soon gave way to another faint smirk. She gestured upwards to the ceiling, where a bit of light was beginning to shine through a crack courtesy of that last ki blast. "It may not have the dramatic air of someone rushing here to exact justice, but yeah. I'm here because I want to be here."
"Are we going to dance or not?"

"Fun, huh? For the thrill?" Chamil shrugged, turning around as her violate ki began to crackle. "I can get down with that. You aren't like the others I have fought." The demon reared a hand back, a crooked smile across her face. "So let's see if you make the same mistakes they did!" Beckoning her new opponent forwards, Chamil's energy would peak, doubling now that she was in combat. This kid didn't deserve the honor of seeing her Stargoon glory just yet, though, so the demon decided to start it off slow and easy to analyze Ramen's own combat style.
Reaching a hand forwards, Chamil would fire a large sphere of ki Ramen's way, not intent on damaging her too much- rather knocking her out of the building, or at the very least busting the wall open behind them to make way for some roomier combat outside. Heading into the open either way, Chamil would stand on the open streets as dozens of corrupted civillains peered out of hiding, beginning to cheer for their controller as the demon awaited her opponent's move, crouched and ready.

AN UNSCHEDULED INTERMISSION | Ramen's PL: 54,000 |
Ramen raised both of her hands to guard against the ki of energy, the demon's suddenly enhanced strength proving a stumbling block as she opted not to power up herself. At least, not just yet. As the ki collided with her palms, she found herself being knocked backwards as it pushed her along, the demon's plan working perfectly. By the time the blast sounded with a cloud of smoke forming around her wavering, scorched hands, she had plowed through a wall and ended up in the sunny outdoors. A much more spacious battleground, to be sure.
"You're stronger than you looked at first glance, aren't you? That's exciting," she commented as she shook the shivering out of her hands. It would be a dangerous proposition to continue to engage the demon at this relatively low level of energy, but it was rude to just go all-out, all at once. At least, that's how she figured it. Better to feel an opponent out a little first.
The crowd cheering for the Stargoon did catch Ramen off-guard. She'd already experienced first-hand how sour some of these people had become, but it still didn't seem quite right. She raised her hand and formed a ki orb in her palm, allowing it to slowly swell with power as she regarded her waiting opponent. Swings and roundabouts was the name of the game, and she took two steps forwards before hurling the orb forwards like a baseball, with all the strength she could muster. Despite its small size, the orb managed to crack and loosen the pavement as it passed above, the power radiating from it just a little unstable given how concentrated it was. She wasn't trying to actually seriously damage Chamil this time, but rather give her a nasty little sting: payback for the blast she just had to suffer through.

Chamil's attack struck with flying colors. The demon gave her hair a quick flip, taking a slow breath in with dukes raised and ready. Ramen's attack flung forwards with immense speed, it's intent much like the goat's earlier attack. However, the demon would thrust her hand forwards as the ball of energy ricocheted towards her body, a much more intense blast of energy fired from her palm! Chamil's own blast would briefly struggle with Ramen's attack before barrelling through, intent on leaving a bigger mark this time around. But no, she wouldn't go all out just yet, Chamil reminded herself... That didn't mean she couldn't have a bit of fun with this, though.
Dashing behind her attack, regardless of if it hit or miss, the caprine's head lowered, horns pointed and attempting to snag Ramen's torso in their points! If this proved successful, Chamil's form would lurch back as she'd attempt to suplex and smack her foe right into the road below with her horns.

This time, Ramen managed to guard against the oncoming blast a little better. She summoned another ball of ki in her hand at the last moment, managing to place it directly into the center of the oncoming ki. It wasn't a perfect guard, but it was enough to cause the blast to detonate at point-blank range, sparing Ramen most of the impact -- even if a series of open cuts appeared on the outside of her outstretched hand and forearm. Unfortunately, it also created a smokescreen that blinded the warrior to Chamil's own maneuvering, and by the time she picked up on her energy signature on the move, she found herself caught between her opponent's horns. Before she could break away, she was flipped over and hit with a suplex right into the road!
Her shoulders and neck hit the ground first, slamming through concrete with tremendous force. It would've been enough to kill any ordinary human, but Ramen managed to yank herself away with a sudden burst of ki, landing a few paces from Chamil with a sore-as-heck neck for her troubles. She had rather quickly given up the initiative in the bout, but she wasn't going to sit by and let the pair of successful attacks go unanswered. She darted forward, ignoring the pain creeping up her spine from that last impact, before launching into the air at the last moment. She spread her hands out to either side and began to fire a flurry of ki blasts down at her opponent! None were all too threatening on their own, but together they form a barrage meant to sting the demon and hold her at bay.
The only problem was, as each of those blasts landed, her attack radius grew wider and wider under the duress of keeping up the attack. Soon, she would run the risk of doing harm to Chamil's cheering civilian audience...
