Cheery whistles echoed about the distant mountains in lower Heaven. Konpa's new training dojo was coming along nicely, the outside walls now propped up with some streamers here and there placed in advance for the opening celebration. Sure, some sly ghosts had stolen some of her supplies, but something like that wouldn't stop the tiny Shinjin's immense drive. Her ki, while weak, would crackle about her hand as she pushed some nails into their place, wiping her hands together and taking a step back to admire her handiwork.
Maybe she could send some invites to Yogu and company later to help her build it- that could be good training. She did put up some fliers advertising it's eventual creation for other restless souls in Heaven, but nobody had come yet in the past few days... Well, that just meant she had to put up some more fliers, right?
"Hmmmm, it's missing something..." The Shinjin quietly mused to herself, tapping the front porch of the half-built building with her toe. With a snap of her fingers and a quick hum of realization, the two-foot blueberry skinned girl would dash into her supply boxes, promptly pulling out a long piece of fabric, tying both ends around some posts prodding out of the porch- a hammock! "Perfect!" The shinjin exclaimed, climbing right up into the new bed, her head just barely poking out of the top as she lied down, giving a relaxed sigh. Things were going to be good. Now, if only she had some more attention for her dojo...
Back to the Basics PL: 30 (suppressed) "...what in the world is up with this thing?"
Garon walked across the infinite pathways of Heaven, fidgeting with the Biometal stuck on his arm. For the past couple of hours, it had been making strange beeping noises. He wondered how and why it was still even there. If Render was no longer inside it, then how could it even function? And why was it making this really annoying beeping noise? While Garon asked himself these questions, a gust of wind blew a piece of paper in his sunglasses-covered face.
Ignoring the incessant beeping coming from his shoulder, Garon began to read whatever blew into his face. As it turned out, it was a flyer for some Dojo that happened to be close to where he was. "Eh, what the hell.", the Doragon said to himself. Although in the back of his mind he was worried about being ridiculed for his actions in Satan City, he figured that worst case scenario, he'd just get laughed at. Garon turned around and began his trek towards the dojo.
After a while, Garon found himself in a mountainous area, the dojo being right in his sights. "Hey, uh, this is the dojo, right? Aaaanyone home?", Garon called out. Due to her height, Garon didn't notice the short Shinjin in the hammock at first, but the noises his Biometal was making would most likely be more than enough to alert Konpa of his arrival.
ooc: IMPORTANT: garon has a disguise on - read the first post of Under the Radar for more info. also i'm here nowGeneral Kombu
Did Konpa set an alarm? Her short arm fumbled around outside the hammock on a box searching for one, but... nothing. Then what was that incessant beeping sound?! Opening one eye and peering out of of the fabric, Konpa would raise a brow at the sight of a strangely dressed... person. But they seemed to know about her dojo, so they must want to come to her as a student, right? Beaming wide, the Shinjin would raise a hand out of hiding and wave down the Doragon. "Hey, hey! Over here!" The short Shinjin chimed, swiftly hopping out of her rest and trotting over.
"So, if you saw one of my fliers- then you should know I got the best training to offer up here to you dead guys and stuff, right? Though I'm still kinda setting up shop here..." The short girl chimed with pride before trailing off to eye the half-built dojo- sure, there was King Kai, but the old coot had hunkered down as of late, leaving a monopoly of people to train for Konpa. "Any-waaays, uhhh... who are you? I'm Konpa Kai- head of this place once it's all up and ready." The Shinjin rang with another prideful and somewhat smug grin.
Garon turned around and found himself face-to-face with a strange, blue person. Well, not exactly face-to-face. It was more like face-to-knees. He looked down at the lady while she introduced herself as "Konpa", and explained that she trained "you dead guys". Garon winced at the word "dead" as if he still hadn't gotten over his demise. "Yeah I'm here for the training, I guess.", he said.
In reality, he only came here because he was bored, but the more he thought about it, maybe he could benefit from some training. After all, his pitifully low Power Level is what got him in trouble in Satan City in the first place, right? As Konpa explained that she wasn't exactly done building the dojo, Garon nodded his head. "...I could probably help with that.", Garon offered to the Shinjin. When she asked what his name was, the Doragon sighed as if he'd been defeated. "Well, here we go again.", he thought to himself.
"My name's Garon, you've probably heard of me by now.", Garon said as if he'd been annoyed, before quickly mumbling under his breath, "...and so has every other damn person in this place.". He sighed as he took his sunglasses off and shoved them in his jeans pockets. The palm of his hand went sliding down his face like he was tired. "Look, if you still want to I can help with the dojo or whatever but if you don't then that's fine too.". Garon waited for the Shinjin to realize that he was "Hydrogan". He waited for her to realize that his entire "hero" career was a joke and that Satan City was the punchline. Maybe coming here wasn't such a good idea after all...

Garon? Konpa put her hand to her chin with a thoughtful hum- she heard that name before, probably from one of the other Shinjin- though she had been hard-focused on her Dojo and nothing else as of late, and couldn't put two and two together... Eh, it was probably nothin. "Can't say I have." The Shinjin shrugged. "Oh, did you, like... Die as a some sorta hero sacrifice or something? And now everyone's onto you or somethin?!" The Shinjin beamed, her hopeful idea far, far, far from the truth.
"Mmmm, well you gotta be in incognito mode for something." Konpa tapped her foot on the ground with her ams folded in thought, very curious. "Buuuut, eh, it's prolly nothin'- I'm overthinking. You wanna get revenge? Be a Z-Fightin' hero? I'm your Shinjin to get you there!" She proclaimed with another prideful grin. "Nobody's better up here at training people than me!... Proooobably because there's only like two people up here who seem interested in that kinda thing."
She didn't know. She was completely oblivious. Garon had to sigh in relief when he realized that maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all. His face turned grim again though when Konpa asked if he'd died in a heroic sacrifice. "Don't wanna talk about it. It's...a bit complicated.", Garon said, his voice trailing off at the end of his sentence. The short Shinjin's talk of revenge cheered him up, but he began to scratch the back of his head as he began to explain why that wouldn't be as easy as it might seem.
"Yeah, revenge would be...very, verynice, but I dunno how possible it is.". Garon pointed to the beeping device on his arm. "See this thing right here? It's called a Biometal. It can do this weird thing where it makes a suit of armor and THEN I'm powered up, but as you can see it's doing a damn good job at not working.". He hit the thing to try and make it shut up, but the beeping only got a little louder. "Without it, I'm useless. I guess you could say it's the reason I'm here.".
While she wasn't able to get the juicy heroic details of Garon's death just yet, much to her disappointment, Konpa's attention didn't linger there for long as an issue presented itself. A biometal? She hadn't heard the name before, but it was a curious thing that seemed to be responsible for Garon's power. "Hmmmmmmm, I see, I see." The Shinjin rang, walking around the Doragon. "I'm not sure if it's more bio or if it's metal, but I think I got something that coooould work." Konpa raised a finger as her hand was surrounded with a light glow.
"I can heal people and stuff! We can give my magic a shot at trying to fix it- though I still am working on perfecting the ability and such." She rang again in another singsong tune, floating into the air. "Can't guarantee this'll work, but it's worth a shot. Worst case-scenario we can just do some more digging to find a fix." Should Garon not object verbally or physically, the Shinjin would extend her hand out and tap it upon the little piece of metal, her magic attempting to course through and heal the thing like it would any other person.
"...healing, huh?", Garon asked. He wasn't a stranger to healing magic. It'd been used on him once before during the fight on the Lookout, but that was on his own wounds, not on the Biometal. But surely it'd work here, right? Unfortunately, the two would learn that attempting to heal the machine was a mistake. As soon as Konpa touched it, the device would start sparking, and its eyes would flash on and off rapidly. "ERROR. FOREIGN INTRUDER DETECTED.", the Biometal said. "What th- AFMZNFHDOFZKFDFRAF". Without warning, the Biometal would send out an electric shock, electrocuting Garon and Konpa too, if she didn't move away!
The robot wasn't done just yet. "ACTIVATING SELF-DEFENSE MECHANISMS.", the Biometal screeched. Garon's right arm would suddenly be covered in his Hydrogan armor, only for it to glitch out and disperse only seconds later. If Garon ended up shocking Konpa, he would start apologizing immediately. "Oh shit, my bad! That was...dammit.", Garon said. "Stupid... piece of shit robot. First it can't protect me from the Stargoons, and now it can't even do its job...", an angry Doragon mumbled. "Well, that clearly wasn't a good idea. We should probably stop messing with it.".
ooc: mess with it also Ki Suppression unsuppressed w/ the shock and then immediately suppressed again i guess
"Oh hey I think it's worki--AGGHGHGHGH--" Konpa would begin before electricity coursed across her and Garon's form, sending the hovering Shinjin flopping to the ground, limp with her eyes barely open... But she did see some armor form, only to disappear later. Still, she'd get right back to her feet despite her somewhat blackened form and frizzled hair, arms raised up with a victorious air. "THAT WAS AWESOME! We ALMOST did it for like, a second!" The Shinjin chimed- the raw power she briefly felt from the device's shock was incredible as well. Maybe if she perfected her healing, she could properly give him his full armor back... "Let's do it again!" She rang, raising a hand once more with a chuckle. "Naaaah, I kid." The Shinjin chimed while lowering her arm, remaining chipper despite the "failure."
Konpa put a hand to her chin, eyeing the device still. "Hmmmm, do you think anyone else up here might know about it? Like a scientist or somethin'." The shinjin paused with thought. "Buuuuuut it does respond to a need to defense, or something. Maybe if we push you to your limit with some dojo-building, it'll start working again!" She deducted- if it needed a dire situation to work, then she would work Garon to the bone.
"Wh-No, that wasn't 'awesome'!", Garon said. He was incredibly angry that the Biometal gave the response that it did to Konpa's magic, disregarding the fact that as far as he knew, the Biometal should not have even been functioning in the first place. "It was supposed to be this whole cool-looking suit that looked like a dragon that could shoot lasers and stuff, but nope. Of course, it's broken.". Konpa asked if there was someone who could fix it, which given his current mood, probably might not have been the best idea. "Oh, right right right, of course. Because the CREATOR of this thing is just gonna be rolling around in heaven. Look, I don't even know who made this. My only guess would be my dad, and I don't even know what the guy looks like.".
The Doragon sat down on a rock, trying to cool down. The small Shinjin had made a point: the Biometal did seem to respond to outside stimuli, specifically harmful ones. When she said that she'd push him to his limit with the dojo-building, Garon looked at her, confused. "And how exactly do you intend to do that? Have me lift a couple punching bags or whatever?", he asked.
"Oh, no no, not something like that- it probably won't be enough." Konpa dimissed Garon with a wave with his idea of just some heavy lifting. A sly smirk crossed the Shinjin's face. "You see, I could use some... pest control soon." She chimed with a click of her tongue, a brief waft of chilling air passing through the area. "Ghosts. They're... annoying, for sure. If I don't get them outta my hair soon, I don't think this Dojo's ever gonna be built!" Konpa explained with a sigh. "While they don't seem to be the strongest physically from what I've seen, these batch are really slippery and crafty. They're allllll over the place."
"So your job now is to catch one and bring it back to me for questioning! They're always in the littest nooks and crannies." She chimed, hovering back into the air. "I'll do the building, you do the wrangling? Cool?" She didn't wait for an answer. "Cool." And with that, the Shinjin took off again, trotting back into her dojo and dragging a toolbox behind her...
Garon listened closely to what the Shinjin had to say, but what he heard was definitely not what he expected. When Konpa said she needed help, he definitely wasn't expecting this. On one hand, Garon really wanted to help this person out with her "infestation" problem. But on the other hand... "...Ghosts?!", Garon asked. "How the hell am I supposed to catch a ghost? You can't even touch the damn-". Only then did he realize that Konpa had already flown off to go prepare the dojo. "...things.". What in the world was wrong with this lady? Was this her idea of training? Some wild goose chase to catch something you can't even touch?!
Realizing that this was the truth, Garon sighed as he trotted from the dojo to begin his impossible search. He had no idea how he'd catch a ghost, but he knew that he was going to do itone way or another. Plus, Konpa's magic did seem to have an effect on his Biometal. If he was to win her trust, he'd have to (somehow) complete her quest.
