"Hey, some of these booths sell different shit, too. I've seen some technology as a prize for some of these. We could get something like that. But, whatever. More cool crap that's probably worth money for me, then." As Masu pointed to the booth covered in the ducks, Suketo's eyebrows rose. "Ducks? You want rubber ducks? Didn't think the prince had a thing for rubber ducks. What, you have one when you take a bath, then?" She joked, not knowing her joke was actually true. "Oh well, fine. Let's get you some damn ducks." She took his hand, walking with him to the stall.

“I, uh, just want one because I collect them, alright?” The prince assured unconvincingly. “Why would I take a bath with one? That’d be silly. I’m not a damn child.” Arriving at the booth, Masu forked over a paper bill and grabbed a small ping pong ball. Each of the rubber ducks was towing a small ring, and the objective was to land the small plastic ball inside the ring to win the corresponding duck. Spotting a bland yellow one that had some signs of sun damage, Masu threw his ball, but it bounced off the rim and missed. Two similar tries later, and he finally found success. Grabbing his prize, he stashed it away in his pocket. “Alright, that’s all I needed. We can leave this booth now, ok?”

"Well, then the ship is going to be filled of damn ducks. Lovely." She watched him throw the ball, him seeming pleased about winning the duck. Suketo smirked, paying money. She took the ball, and like the other game, used her telekinesis to cheat, making it three times. She chose a few different ducks; one green duck, one floral duck, and one grey duck. After winning, she gave them to Masu. "There you go, duck boy, enjoy." She kissed his cheek, receiving an "awww" from the attendant. "Oh, screw off!" She snapped at the woman, walking away without Masu. The woman looked at the prince. "What's wrong with her?" She asked Masu, confused about why his supposed girlfriend snapped at her.

“I’m sorry about her, she’s havin an off day.” Masu pulled Suketo aside and took her to a corner near a wall where he was certain nobody could hear him. “Ok, Suketo, we need to talk about your attitude. Don’t get me wrong, I like that you’re fiery, but sometimes you’re too fiery. There’s such a thing as moderation, you know?” He truly didn't understand how she could be so hostile so often. Even the most drunk and angry soldiers he had met displayed some level of modesty and respect.

The look on Suketo's face just read annoyance as he cornered her. "Oh, my attitude, huh?" She pushed away. It was happening again. "I thought you accepted it all. You know I'm a total bitch! But if it's too much for you, just leave." She looked away, stopping and facing from Masu. "Everyone else does..." She turned back to Masu. "Better to push away the world than let it give you a false sense of hope, then it to beat you down. Learned it from my own people, the noble kids who were forced to be my friends until I beat the hell out of them..." Her eyes finally lined with Masu's. "And Ikasha… I know you're him, but... that was the first step into the making of the bastard princess you see now... The only person who showed kindness, leaving me and never coming back... until I discover he's my intended enemy... who will one day be kept away from me, as well." Suketo shook her head. She was getting emotional again.... "When we return to Tayona, our kingdoms... our fathers will keep us apart, and I'll lose the only person I trust... the only person I love..."

The prince sighed. He could tell from her words what her past was life. “You can’t think like that.” He let out after a long pause. “The more you let your detractors get to you, the more you listen to them, the worse its going to get.” He put his arm on her shoulder, trying to comfort her. “I know it’s hard after all you’ve had to endure, but you can’t just let your instinct be to push everyone else away. Please, you have to let people in like you let me in. You can’t assume that people will hate you right away, especially when nobody knows who we are here.” A year ago, Masu wouldn’t have cared even a little about the princess’s hardships and pains. He would have just shoved her away like everyone else. “I swear I’ll never leave you. I swear it. I know you’ve had a lot of hurt in your life, and I won’t let you feel that pain anymore.”

Suketo fought the tears, not wanting to cry in public. Damn, Masu is the only one who ever saw her cry this much. She thought about Tayona… how it caused so many issues for the two. Why were they going to fight to return there if they both suffered there? "Then... let's not go back. Masu, we can make a life away from the rivalry, away from the hate! Being away from that damn planet, you've become a much kinder person. If this planet is like this, think what others might be like!" She touched his cheek. "To hell with our royal titles. To hell with a damn prophecy! Look at what we have here. We'll keep working with the fleet, earn our own money. We'll buy a place and make a life for our own!" She imagined it... but knew it was a stupid dream. Pushing away, she looked around. "What the hell am I saying..."

Never return…Never go back home…It wouldn’t be too hard to do that. The only part that would cause any problems would be getting away from them permanently. Part of him wanted to do that. Part of him wanted to abandon his life on his home planet and make a new one with Suketo. But at the same time, that would mean leaving everything he had ever known. “You know, I don’t blame you for thinking that way.” He stated. “I fantasize about that sometimes. Who knows, maybe I’ll decide that you’re right. I think for now I want to just stick with the fleet and see where it leads us.” He started walking towards a booth surrounded by cold looking machines. He motioned for Suketo to follow. “You know what, for now I don’t even want to talk anymore. Hell, I don’t want to do anything right now. All I want to do right now is just eat some ice cream.”

Suketo gave a warm smile to him, walking towards Masu and taking his hand. Whenever they spoke like this, it made the princess feel... better. For so long, she would keep her pain inside, never having anyone to speak to. Now, with Masu, she finally had an outlet for her pain. "That sounds good for me, too. I'm hungry as shit. Cotton candy isn't gonna hold me back for too long." She took out the flask, taking another drink before offering it to Masu. "Want some?" She asked, not feeling drunk at all from the booze. The two walked, heading to get more food. Suketo couldn't help but chuckle thinking about the ducks Masu wanted. "Tell me the truth, dude. What is it about goddamn rubber ducks that gets you giddy?"

The prince pushed the flask away since he wasn’t in the mood for drinking.
Masu stopped walking after Suketo asked him about the rubber ducks. “Alright, you want the truth?” He asked. “Fine. When I was younger, I would always visit the hot springs to relax. Whenever you get into such warm water, all of your muscles, including your mind start to relax themselves. One time a friend told me that he heard about people drowning in hot springs because they would become so relaxed that they would fall asleep. I knew he was full of shit, but I still got that nonsensical fear. So, in order to keep my mind awake, I uh,” The prince blushed a bit. “Whenever I take a warm bath, I always have to have a rubber duck to watch and keep me awake so I don’t fall asleep and drown. There, are you happy? You had BETTER take that secret to your grave.”

Suketo listened a smile spreading on her face. No way in hell! "I find it damn entertaining listening how the tough hardcore 'crown prince' is as much as a pussy as anyone else!" She chuckled a bit, before stopping. "But don't worry. Look at this." From her pocket, she removed a teddy bear, no bigger than the palm of her hand. "My mother made this for me before I was born. It's the only thing I have from her. It's my good luck charm. If this damn bear can talk! This little guy has seen some shit! I had it on me when we first met, our first fight... everyday." She put the bear back into her pocket. "We all got our secrets that make us seem weaker to the world. However, having something to comfort you can make you stronger." She touched his shoulder, smiling.

Masu was a bit surprised that Suketo held onto such a thing. At the same time though, he didn't want to judge her for it. Everyone needed something to hold onto, some small bit of good in their insane lives. “Yeah, I agree with that.” Masu answered, leaning into her. “I agree with that entirely.” It hadn’t been a perfect date, but Masu couldn’t have asked for a better one. He couldn’t remember a time in his life where he had so much happiness. And he loved it.

Suketo smiled as he leaned into her. His warmth was comforting to her, making her feel safe. Looking around, she smiled, taking his hand. "Come. If we're going to do this lovey-dovey date shit right, we need to do one thing." She chuckled, leading him to the ferris wheel, bringing him into one of the carriages and smirking. "Be prepared. there's gonna be some panic." She warned before moving her hand around, causing the ferris wheel to stop at the perfect angle where the two could look at the lights of the whole carnival. Sitting with him, she thought. "It feels like when we first met... looking at the mountains of Pashifikku together, huh?" She took his cheeks in her hands, turning his face gently towards her before leaning in, kissing him warmly, feeling happiness coursing through her veins.
