There was a moment of pause. The silence between the two of them gave rise to a tension that, despite all of Saizomaru's experiences and senses, he could not explain. It wasn't unsettling, nor awkward, but mysterious to him—and to her too, perhaps. He gazed into her eyes, still smiling, almost assuredly so.
Where her eyes always this pretty?
Then he saw her blush, her cheeks turning from its natural pale peach tone to a ripening strawberry. He couldn't help but chuckle. His hands reached up and cupped her cheeks once again, his thumbs lightly trailing against the softness of her skin.
Was she always this fair?
She spoke once more, her voice soft and calm and collected. It had been the first time that she had been so mellow.
Saizomaru smiled as the worlds rolled off of her tongue, smooth and silk with the gentle notes of a harp. He watched as her hands touched his but, again, he could feel nothing. It had been a while since he had cursed his robotic form that was devoid of any sense of touch. But he imagined that her hands would be soft, warm and gentle just like his own mother's.
"I would… like that." He didn't know what to say. He had no idea how he felt or why he felt. He had never experienced something like this before, always so reserved in his social outlook. For most of his life all he had known was his family and the few friends that he had known since his military days—ones who had not died, anyway.
But this woman—this lady? There was something more. But his own self-consciousness kept him from expressing how he felt.
How could someone love a machine?
As she nuzzled against the metal that encapsulated what was left of his head, he leaned it against hers gently, letting the softness of his hair brush against her cheek. "Slight problem though," he said with a slight smirk. "I got nothin' down there, have I?"
Continuing his bloodline wasn't going to be much of a thing for the foreseeable future, but… at least he could still have her for company.

She never saw this sort of thing happening. Kohlra couldn't believe that such emotions would ever come back into her life. Why and how is she falling for someone, especially if that someone wasn't entirely human or saiyan? It's hard to pinpoint on the reasoning why she felt this way, especially after 12 years of never experiencing this feeling. This android... no, this person was special. Like very special. Again, she doesn't exactly know why...
She even allowed him to touch her and everything, especially whenever he went and cupped her cheeks. But for some odd reason, she didn't exactly seem bothered by it. Hell, she even leaned her face against it and closed her eyes, not minding the fact that it wasn't human flesh touching her. It wasn't soft, but it sure did strike something within the woman.
As she went over and grabbed his hand though, she could only feel as if she's touching another person's. Sai wasn't a mere robot to the saiyan, but another average person. Though to describe him as 'average' would be a major understatement, because he was far beyond that. She gently gripped her hand around his, holding onto it tightly while she leaned against him. A smile formed on her face after hearing him speak, a small sigh of relief escaping her. "Good... 'cause wasn't gonna take no for an answer." Kohlra quietly chuckled, moving her other hand up to his arm.
Kohlra's face would form into a little smirk after hearing his comment about 'continuing the bloodline' bit, "Yeah, but hey, maybe some miracle will happen or something in the future..." The saiyan shrugged before slowly getting up from the lawn chair and grabbing at the bag of McBaos. "I should head home now. Tarch's probably starving by now... but uh, yeah. Come meet me over at my place and we can set up something." She said with a smile, turning herself around and beginning to make her way back home...
"Life seems pretty good now."

"A strong woman." That's what Saizomaru's father had told him many years ago. "You should marry a strong woman. Have a child. Settle down one day and be a family man." It felt like a lifetime ago when the android had those thoughts constantly in his mind, even when he had joined the military. Over time those thoughts became consumed with work and duty. Ever since he had been reborn into the world as an android those thoughts had dissipated completely from mind.
But now they were starting to resurface once more like the rekindling of an ember on an open fire. This lady gave him comfort in his desires, hope in his uncertain future.
Maybe she would fan the flames of his passion.
Saizomaru snickered a little at her response. He moved his hand onto hers—hesitation no longer made his second guess, self-consciousness no longer a demon that held him back. He wanted this. Even if he could not have a child of his own, he could at least have a future.
"It's a good thing that "no" was far from my answer then," he replied with a smile. And even now, despite him knowing that it would never be, she continued to give him the hope that he could not give himself that, one day, he might be able to continue his family bloodline. "A miracle, huh? I could do with one right now."
He leaned up and gazed into her eyes, so strong and determined. She was everything that his father had told him to take, everything that he wanted.
Go on. Kiss her. Do it.
He leaned in, closer than he had any right to, but he demanded it from himself. His hands slipped from hers as he edged closer by the millimetre. His eyes lidded. He could feel whatever heart he had inside him thumping away against his titanium chest.
But then she got up from her lawn chair. Saizomaru opened his eyes fully and watched her moved away as she grabbed the bag next to her. Damnit. He followed suit with a soft sigh, still smiling, standing to his feet and brushing off the dirt from his rear.
"Sure. We'll make it a date," he said with a chuckle. He watched her as she made her way away from him. In turn, he made his way along the path in the opposite direction. He couldn't help but keep that smile on his face all the while.
Maybe life will find a way…
