A mighty, hot wind blew through the arid wastes of Diablo. Though the land was not as vast nor as hot as the Fortuneteller's desert, this was just as arduous, or so Min was told. She chugged water from her canteen as she kneeled down, her eyes surveying the landscape. The place was barren, but the journal in her other hand told her something was close by. The old owner even drew a map! Right under her nose should be a cave shaped like the face of a demon, but she didn't see any--
She looked down, and blinked rapidly. The massive thing she thought was a simple cliff was actually the top of a cave, and its mouth was indeed unique-looking. Did it look like a Demon? Not really. In her opinion, it was more like a... Goat, or maybe a triple-eared toad. But who was she to judge?
Wiping her lips, she capped her canteen, and hopped off the ridge, spinning in the air, and landing on her palm gracefully. She smirked to herself, before spinning to land on her feet. Though her motions were sloppy, she didn't fall, and that was good enough. "Heh. Still got it."
Staring into the mouth of this cave was almost a surreal experience. Holding the journal up, she looked at the drawing, then back to the cave, eyes darting to and fro. This was wild! It was like a perfect match! The dream she had only just started having was already coming true, and she'd only left home a month ago now. Maybe she'd find some old treasure down here, if she got lucky. Either that, or a handful of bandits. The old merchant she talked shop with in the small village nearby was pretty worried about the bandit part.
Checking her flank, she walked in cautiously, and instantly felt relief. It was so much cooler the moment she stepped into the welcoming shade. Was this magic? Either way, she couldn't let herself be distracted. A fight could be just around the corner, after all.
Slowly, she approached the inner workings of the cave, rounding a corner to a network of hallways. They were intricately carved, as if they were made by a whole army of construction workers. Seeing this changed her opinion. What she once thought was just some interesting cave has morphed into a mystery like no other. Just what had the old master in her journal found down here, and why was it never written down?
"Well, here goes nothing."
Taking a deep breath, Min walked into the center hallway; one of three options she had, and started taking mental notes. Would she find what she was looking for this way? Come to think of it... What was she looking for?
