The sounds of birds chirping sounded from outside the window of the small motel that Saizomaru and Kitiana stayed in for the night. Below the people of the town were doing their daily rounds of moving on to work or heading off to the nearby market. The tumbling noise of wagon wheels upon the cobblestones created a melodic hum, their carts carrying loads of trade goods for both the market and towards the dock to be shipped out to the other neighbouring towns and cities. A low humming noise came from the android's room. Against the back wall was a large, man-sized maintenance rack that housed his body, Saizomaru himself kept in a state of dormancy. Several monitors showed various status bars, sharts and graphs on their screens, covered in various numerical values. A series of beeps came from the equipment. Slowly Saizomaru's eyes opened, then glanced about the room. They shifted down to the monitors, taking in the conclusion of his diagnostics—all was well. He began to remove the wires and plugs that were jacked into his body, then stepped off the rack onto the carpet. "One-hundred percent restoration," he mumbled to himself before he took a small capsule from the shelf. With a press of the switch the maintenance rack disappeared into a puff of smoke, returning to its container. "Right! Time to get to training." =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=
There was a light knock at Kitiana's door. Then a second. Then a pause. Suddenly the door slammed open as Saizomaru drop-kicked it inward, slamming it against the attached wall with a loud smash. He ran in, then jumped onto the bed where the girl was no doubt trying to get a decent amount of sleep. It was only six in the morning, after all. "Hup! Hup! Hup!" the android yelled as he started pelting Kitiana's head with one juniper berry at a time, a local commodity of the town that were commonly found in the forests, until she was completely awake. "Time to move your ass, soldier! Training starts at oh-six-thirty hour! That's in half an hour!" A small smirk crept across his half flesh-half artificial lips. "That's in half an hour," he reiterated in a softer, calmer, less loud voice. "So, y'know, do your hair, put your make-up on—do whatever it is that you girls do. Meet me on the forest trail. Don't be late!" He suddenly disappeared in a veil of smoke, leaving only the bag of juniper berries on the bed where he was stood.

The night had gone mostly uneventful once Kitiana had retreated to her room, Outside of taking an extremely long shower there wasn't much that had been done. So much so that she had fallen asleep far before Saizomaru had, So when he busted into her room so suddenly she was slow to wake. Having started to rub her eyes as she heard the door come flying off it's hinges, She was about to flip over to see what had caused it when suddenly she was flung into the air and slammed down against the floor "OW!" She cried out as she slammed down, slowly rubbing her head as she pulled herself up slightly. Leaning over the bed she looked up towards Saizomaru as he began pelting her with berries "'ey c'mon can't a girl get some sleep..." She said groggily, yawning briefly. Grumbling to herself as he instructed her "WAIT WHAT?! HALF AN HOUR!?" She said, her eyes shooting open as he told her what time it was. Her head swinging quickly to the window... It was 6 in the morning?! She groaned loudly, though when she turned back around he was gone. "Well I guess there's no point in arguing..." She muttered to herself with a sigh. Kitiana shook her head as she forced herself up to her feet, Pulling on her clothing one piece at a time. By the time she had fully dressed she was mostly awake, taking one last look in the mirror she closed her eyes 'So this is it... From here on out, I train to get Maple to give me that information. Willingly or not.' Turning and leaving, she kept repeating those words to herself over and over. She had to keep herself committed, had to keep herself focused at all times. She couldn't allow her goal to vanish into the winds, Saizomaru was her key to achieving the power that would allow her too obtain the information she wanted... She wouldn't squander this chance. It took her roughly 20 minutes before she finally made it out to the pass, However she wasn't wearing the orange garb she had been wearing the day before. Kitiana had gone out to buy new clothes, specifically for training in fact. As she approached she smiled to Saizomaru "Alright, I'm here. Let's get straight to it shall we?"

Saizomaru lounged across a thick branch of a tree to the side of the game path, his head and shoulders leaned propped up against the tree trunk with his hands behind his head. A single leg hung from over the side, idly swaying back and forth. He peered from between the leaves of the branches above towards the skyline, watching the sun in the distance. It was a good day for training. The sound of footsteps against the dirt patted quietly, getting louder as Kitiana approached him. The android's blue eyes shifted down, getting a quick glance of the girl from the corner of his eye. He had to turn his head to get a better look at her just to confirm it was indeed his student—her complete change of attire had made him second guess, with the only recognizable feature of her being her huge head of hair and tail that swayed behind her. Saizomaru hummed, and then flipped sideward from the branch he was laid upon, tumbling in a corkscrew fashion before landing on his feet. "Good to see you actually came," he praised, albeit in a snarky tone. "I reckoned you would have turned tail and ran away. I'm glad you are taking this seriously. I would expect no less from my student."His eyes scanned her from head to toe, taking in her change of attire. The colours were different, but its design was something that Saizomaru was all too familiar with. He smiled, then chuckled, before he spoke, "I must have missed some sort of fashion trend, because I'm seeing these clothes pop up more and more. Same things my master wears."He turned away from Kitiana, his hair whipping behind him like a tugged curtain, and walked away from her down the path. "My training is not for prying eyes," he called back. "There is a clearing not too far from here. We will train there."=*=*=*=*=*=*=*= Ten minutes of walking took the two of them to a large clearing, around a thirty meter radius, approximately half a mile from the village. The area was filled with knee-length grass and surrounded by a circular tree line of thick, dense trees, shrubbery and other foliage. Anyone who wanted to sneak a peek at their training would have to get close to do so—within range of Saizomaru's senses that they could be picked out as clear as crystal. "Looks good," Saizomaru said, "though it could do with a gardener. This grass has really gotten out of hand." He hummed as he turned towards his new apprentice, arms held across his metal chest. "The way that you punched before shows credence of your martial experience, though it is not quite there yet. However, your form is not what we will be focusing on today. I want to see your power."He hummed as he let his arms drop to his side. He gazed at her, letting a moment of pause flitter between them. He could sense it, but he did not see it. "You have great strength, more so than about ninety-nine percent of mortals on this planet. Yet the power you put in your punch yesterday was like watching a toddler hit a punching bag."He took three steps towards her, then stopped. He held his hands out in front of him, spaced apart, palms facing Kitiana. "I'm not sure why you did or—or perhaps cannot—tap into that power, but I will find out soon enough. Strike my palms one at a time, alternating between left and right. Use whatever power is inside you and lash out. You do not need to worry about damaging me. Do you understand?"

Kitiana gave him a smirk at first "I told you yesterday that I was committed to this, I wasn't going to back down after swearing it." She said, though gave him a curious quirk of her head at his next statement "Fashion trend? To be honest these just seemed the best to have for training... Honestly the clothes I had on before were from before. I figured new clothes, new me." But she nodded and followed him swiftly, She couldn't wait to get this training going. Much of the travel time was silent, Kitiana simply stared straight ahead in silent thought. She figured this training wouldn't be easy, It'd likely push her to the breaking point if not past it. But she couldn't let herself lose sight of her goal, Not now... Not ever.
Her eyes scanned the area as they reached upon the spot they'd begin training, It wasn't too large but it did give plenty of room to move around which was likely the point of it all. Listening to him as he spoke, Kitiana got a good feel for her surroundings by sight. That was when he began reciting something that felt all too familiar to her, The same thing Maple seemed to be hinting towards. This hidden, latent power of hers. What did he mean by it? Well no matter, Saizomaru wanted to see it first hand. Out here there was nobody else around, Nobody else that could get hurt... Nobody to worry about. Her attention refocused on him as he took a few steps forwards, bringing his hands up in a stance she recognized. A simple training exercise, left then right... left then right... That was it.
Kitiana took in a deep breath and nodded, closing her eyes for a few moments as she brought her fists upwards. Her right leg shifting behind her, her left fist at nose-height as her right fist was towards the center of her chest. She took a few more deep breathes to try and steady herself as she nodded "No holding back... Gotcha." She took one more glance towards his hands, both eyes locked and focused on them. Her muscles tensed as she began, Alternating between her left fist and right fist. It was slow at first, her eyes visibly switching between each hand before she threw the punch. She was studying her own movements, trying to call out to that energy that he claimed she had. It wasn't too long before a response came either. Her punches began to get quicker, slowly at first. Her eyes still swapped between each hand before the punch was thrown, but slowly her eye movement started to sync up with her fists more and more... Until they began to outpace her eye movement.
It took about 3 minutes but finally she was showing some progress, back and forth she swung her fists at his hands. Each punch getting faster, stronger... But the real question was, Why? For Kitiana it was simple. There was only one person who had drawn them out before, Maple. So she had began focusing on him and just him, she blocked out everything else. Her heart was racing, her blood pumping through her body to near boiling point. It wasn't long before her her eyes simply didn't move. That's when it happened again, that energy he was sensing... It started leaking outwards, Slowly. The exponential rise in power and speed was starting to become more and more apparent.

The android stood still as he watched for his student's movements. At first she paused. Hesitated, perhaps. He understood much from just watching her stand there in pause. He had an inkling of why she did so, though he expected to understand fully once she began.
The girl took stance. Saizomaru noted her posture, her positioning. "Oh, very nice," he praised. His eyes glared at her hands, one kept up near her head while the other remained near her torso. "Leaving no openings towards your head and body. Seems you have an instinct for this. It's not ultra-refined, but it'll do."
The first punch struck, a pounding sound ringing as flesh-covered knuckled struck synthetic muscle-laced palm. The strike was, as Saizomaru expected, weak. He looked back on when Kitiana struck the trunk of the tree yesterday, noting the equally lacklustre power behind it. He expected more.
The second fist lashed out against the other hand. Then another, and another, alternating from left to right. The android could see, sense and "feel" the speed and power that was slowly accumulating with each successful attack. Once where weak attacks led to nothing, the rise in her power, her force, began to slightly push each of Saizomaru's palms backwards with each hit.
I see it now.
Saizomaru gripped the girl's right hand with his left palm as soon as it touched the fibres. The other hand did the same with her other fist. His fingers clenched and gripped tightly around her knuckles, holding them in place. With the strength that she had right now, she had no hope of pulling them away. "You hesitate," he muttered in a low voice as she stared into her eyes. "That is your problem. Your mind, your body, they hesitate, restricting both your power and effectiveness."
He swung his hands down, pushing Kitiana's arms back to her side. He paused for a moment, eyeing up her posture, her expression, her body language. "Your think too much when you fight. When you started attacking, you kept checking your technique, your movements. A second or so that is spent second-guessing yourself is a long time for someone to exploit that gap and strike back at you. Let your body act naturally. It will develop power better that way.
He hummed, then crossed his arms across his chest once more. "Speaking of power—you have much of it. You likely sensed it at the end, did you not? But you restrict yourself. Saizomaru looked at her, his expression sober and stern. "You are uncertain. It is almost as if you… fear something—yourself, maybe."
He sighed, and let his arms relax by his sides. He gave a small shrug. "I'm not sure why you are the way you are. I'm not a fortune teller nor a psychic. But whatever you have going on with you—fear, doubts, regret, whatever—those are the things that are restricting you from tapping into your full strength."
The android took a few steps backwards. "Do you now understand why I said that you must find yourself?" he asked Kitiana. "Once you have solved your doubt, your fear, your uncertainty, then you may walk the path of the warrior. This is only just getting you packed up and ready to be on your way along this road."
He spread his legs apart, his right a shoulders width from his left in front of him. His arms stretched out, one at head height and the other in front of his torso. His hands were flat and open, the edges of them facing towards the girl. "Let's see how effective you are in an actual fight, yeah?"

Kitiana noted the compliment on her stance and was glad that it was good, Though she continued with her instructions of punching each hand one at a time. Until he had grabbed her hands, causing her eyes to widen a bit as she looked up towards Saizomaru. "Uh..." She paused once more as he continued to speak of her instincts, Primal in nature was the best way she could interpret it. Saizo swung her arms downward and took a few steps away, She kept her focus on him as he spoke. She had a feeling she knew what he was talking about, It was exactly why she hesitated. But he wasn't wrong of course, Hesitation killed fighters careers. If she wanted even a small chance at winning against Maple she had to eliminate that hesitation. He told her what her problems were, she watched her attacks too much... She didn't let them flow smoothly.
Saizomaru then went on to speak about her power once more, About how much she had stored inside. Kitiana had to shake her head however "I uh.." She began but stopped herself as she waited for him to finish speaking, thinking about all that he was saying. She had to stop restraining herself, She had to let it come out. But what if she couldn't come back? It was then that he took his own fighting stance, and challenged her directly. Closing her eyes she took another deep breathe and nodded "Alright..." She said, once more her right leg slid behind her and her hands came upwards. One in front of her face, one in front of her torso as she opened her eyes slowly. No more holding back, Kitiana would clear her mind of her own distractions. She'd wait however, She wouldn't make the first attack. It wasn't hers to make, It was his. She knew there was a trigger to her powers, She just needed to find it.

Saizomaru waited. And waited. But nothing. He expected her to launch the first attack, either out of determination or out of self-fulfilment, to prove to her teacher that she was ready to get strong, to get experience, to get ready to take her first steps on that warrior's path.
But nothing. She remained in her stationary position, glaring at Saizomaru as though he were a real opponent. But he could still see it in her eyes—uncertainty. He wondered why she did not deliver the opening strike to their battle. For a moment he felt a degree of understanding, that she may be awaiting the first attack from himself so that she could deliver a pre-emptive counterattack.
What good was a wall made of paper, though?
"Do not hesitate!" the android growled. A tremendous gust of wind bellowed towards Kitiana. The android was no longer where he was, almost as if he vanished. The only trace he left was a long streak of separated grass that channelled from where he was, to directly in front of Kitiana. That was where he had reappeared, like a bolt of lightning striking from the clouds to the ground below. If she had blinked, she'd have missed it.
Saizomaru was stood sideward, legs apart, with his right arm extended outwards in an uppercut position, his fist driving into the girl's gut despite the fact that her arm was in the way. What good was keeping her body protected if her arm didn't have the strength to stop his strike? What good was a wall made of paper?
If the attack struck, it would be with more than plenty of force to send her crashing into the trees behind her. If she hadn't protected herself with the power that she had demonstrated moments before, then she would end up with a broken arm and a few cracked ribs.
Letting an opponent strike first to attack so one could retaliate with a counter offensive was a smart move, that much was true. Against an opponent who majorly outclassed you? Perhaps not so much.

Saizomaru wasn't moving... Was she supposed to make the first attack? Maybe but... She knew the moment she twitched he'd be gone, So how was she supposed to open this up? What was that trigger... What was she waiting for? Confirmation? An opening that wouldn't come? Well that didn't matter, Saizomaru wasn't waiting any longer. He yelled at her, causing the wind to bellow outwards and forced her to bring her arms up and close one of her eyes, and the other one partially. But even with one of her eyes still open, she didn't even register him having moved until it was too late. By the time Kitiana had registered him being there, and by the time she looked up she felt a surge of something... Oh right, Pain. But there was something that accompanied it, a flash of.. something. Before she was sent flying backwards, slamming into and through multiple trees. By the time she'd stopped she was roughly 15 feet from the grove he was, planted into a tree. "ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow..." She gritted her teeth as she slowly pulled herself out of the tree, hitting the ground and staying still for a few moments before pushing herself back up. She shook her arm to get rid of the numbing sensation, before looking back towards Saizomaru.
Alright so waiting wasn't an option, Fine. No hesitation, no holding back... 'From here on out, I train to get Maple to give me that information. Willingly or not' Those were her words... Nobody else's. It was time to bring those words to life. Another big, deep breath before Kitiana threw herself out of the trees, flying towards Saizomaru far faster than she'd been moving previously, though still sluggish by comparison to him. Finally her power was starting to seep out again "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She cried out, throwing her fist forward as hard and fast as she could... But it was still being held back. Not as much as before, but it was still there. She came back with a new vigor, with new resolve... But...

Saizomaru watched as the girl rocketed away from him, smashing through the trees like a freight train until she came to a sudden stop amongst them. Inwardly he wondered if he went too far. Maybe he had broken her. But part of him expected her to get up and fight back—she had the power to do so after all. He would be sorely disappointed if this was all she had to offer.
He saw movement. It was slight, but noticeable. Kitiana slowly pried herself from being embedded into the cratered tree trunk, falling to the ground in front of it. Saizomaru stood up straight, staring at her as she began to get back to her feet. "You're still alive, at least," mused Saizomaru, almost callously so. "That's good. Wouldn't want to only have a new student for a day."
He watched, until suddenly Kitiana hurled herself at him, screaming in what sounded to be a mix of rage and determination. A single hand flung outward, clenched into a tight fist, as the girl lashed out at him. Again, quickly, effortlessly, Saizomaru grasped at her hand. It was strong, that much could be determined, but it was a far cry from her maximum. And yet still…
The android raised his other arm up to drive his fist into her gut once more, aiming to launch her skyward. But it wasn't the same as before. Much of his strength was now held back, and it was much slower, deliberately so, just to gauge how good Kitiana's reactions were. He pondered if she would be able to successfully dodge or even counter his strike, and wondered exactly what a counter from her would be. He wanted to see how diverse and adaptable she was.

A small shock wave erupted outwards as her hand was stopped, a single moment passed before he moved. Slower? No, it didn't matter... Act, Now! On sheer instinct she vanished, she was faster now... Far faster, and that energy was practically rushing out... But only for a moment. It vanished when she did, but it wasn't gone for too long. She reappeared above him, Her arm outstretched as a strange Bracelet-like device appeared around her wrist "Xgx fwzeig xj, Umli ts kn." A strange garbled voice emitted out from her as four large wing-like arms outstretched, Starting to spin and form what appeared to be an outsiders look upon a galaxy. "Onrdw Tdhfv Nlsgp Wrxqzw" More garbled words, except with an explosive surge of power behind it. The strange swirling fired forward in a torrent of dark purple energy, A technique that seemed stronger than she should be capable of... Though still not likely enough to harm Saizo, definitely enough to cause a bit of worry to be sure. However Kitiana wasn't finished, Firing herself downwards after her own attack with her fist coming screeching through the air downwards. There was nothing being held back this time, She was finally going 'all-out'... Or was she?

The girl had vanished from Saizomaru's sight. He had expected as much, what with the purposefully slow delivery of his own attack against her. Any less would had disappointed him, and most certainly cause him to second guess anointing her as his second student. Now he was expecting some sort of counter attack as a follow up to her graceful dodge.
The android looked upwards. The girl was a fair distance from him, tens of meters above him and the ground, almost reaching the halfway point of the tallest trees around them. He had tracked her without hesitation, her overflowing power on full display to him. It would be impossible for him not to notice it.
But it was that power that gave Saizomaru pause. He could feel her dark energy wreathing and writhing about her body, seeing it almost as plain as day. He had felt something ominously similar before, once, when he was in Badman City. The person who had this familiar energy was not exactly a friend of his. The flowing streams of blackened violet that began to form around her wrist, then about her person, gave confirmation.
He began to understand truly what Kitiana was.
Without skipping a beat Saizomaru held his arms in front of his body, hunkering down, as the swirl of this dark purple, malevolence-tinged ki enveloped him into a vortex of destruction. The ground beneath him began to crack and crumble and displace itself outwards as Kitiana's attack drilled into the earth. Chunks of earth and clay crumbled to dust. The grass and flowers bellowed against the tremendous force that the girl's attack exerted before disintegrating into nothing but green and purple-singed ash.
The attack stopped, expended as it outlasted its duration. Saizomaru lowered his arms, ready to proceed the combat. But what he didn't account for was a secondary strike from his wayward student. She was already right in his face by the time he even saw her through the clouds of dust. Her fist connected with his head, smashing him down into the ground. The once circle-burnt earth under the android's feet had quickly opened up into a concaved crater as his body smashed into the earth.
Saizomaru laid there for a moment. Then another. Then another. His body did not move as he stared up at nothing but the knuckles of the girl's hand that were planted right onto the bridge of his nose and between his eyes.
Nothing but the falling of dirt and debris that played ambience for the scene could be heard.
"Not bad. I give it a seven-point-eight out of ten. Too much flashiness."
A metal hand grasped hold of Kitiana's wrist before pushing it off of his face. His hands then planted onto the rocky terrain below him, pushing the rest of his body up until he was sat up. He casually stood himself to his feet, then swept his hands over parts of his body, brushing the dirt and dust that clung to his metal casing. "Good deal of power there. You got any more of that?"

As Kitiana came crashing downwards she had a moment to think, But even her thoughts were nonsensical gibberish. Then his face came into view, mere inches away from her own... And then the floating dust was sent flying outwards as her fist slammed him down into the ground. Several moments began to slowly tick by, Her gibberish thoughts seeming to come together though she couldn't even understand what she was thinking in this moment. In fact she couldn't make herself move either, Her body... refused to move. It was then that her face began to slowly contort to one of... Anger? Definitely Anger. She was just about to pull her fist back for another slam as he reached up to grab it, This caused her to recoil a little bit and her eyes to widen. She tried to pull her hand from his wrist but to no avail, Then he released her and began to stand.
Kitiana stumbled back a few steps as he stood back up, But she wasn't doing it. Her body was moving on it's own, Despite her wishes. She could feel her insides burning, the intensity of the power that exerted itself was starting to take an unnoticed side effect. A visible look of pain flashed over her face for but a moment, before being replaced quickly as she swung her fist forward again "RAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" For the first time something that made sense, though it was still... not useful. But as her fist came screaming forward, her bones were creaking as her power continued to flood out of her. Though this wasn't anywhere near as powerful as the previous attack, This one was still aimed to try and do damage.

He could see it. He could see the anger in her eyes, though it was as though it was not her own. It was like she was being controlled by something ephemeral to the two of them. Whatever she was experiencing right now was not as simplistic as a teenager throwing a temper tantrum, letting their emotions control their actions. It was something much more. Much darker.
Saizomaru did nothing once Kitiana had lashed out with whatever power she had left in her. Her fist slammed into the titanium plates of his abdomen. A couple of them had slightly dented inwards from the strength of her attack. It was not as strong as her first, but it was a clear mile ahead of what she was displaying before. He had confirmed for himself that her power was genuine.
But that power was also detrimental to her. It was a double-edged sword that was afflicting her. He could sense the fluctuation of ki in her body, flickering and wavering like a candle flame in the wind. The look of pain in her face told the story of how this dark ki was afflicting her internally, causing damage to her. It was not something that Saizomaru had seen before or had read any mention of it in his books and scrolls. Whatever this was was far beyond his understanding.
The least he could do was knock her out of it.
"I think that's enough for today," he said. He held out his hand to his side, palm up. Swirling strands of incorporeal, transparent ki began to form, to coalesce, into a spherical shape in his hand no bigger than a tennis ball. He reached out and placed the orb right against her stomach, letting it press against her clothing, her body, as close as it could.
"Force palm."
Suddenly the orb exploded outwards into a thin, linear direction. While the blast had pierced through her, entering through her abdomen and exiting through the small of her back, it left no damage. No torn cloth. No scarred skin. No rent muscle. It was as though she was hit with a dense, concussive force of air.
The power behind his attack was more than enough to render her motionless, the strength of it enough to give her body system shock and leave her in an unconscious state for a few hours. If he was able to land the technique successfully, he would catch her body before it could crumple to the ground, then sling her over his shoulder.

The force of her attack exploded outwards as Saizo had just taken it, Her fist tensing even after it had landed to try and push the damage as far as she could. She winced in pain, she could feel her bones on the tipping point... This overwhelming power, That wouldn't listen. All of her muscles tensed as he spoke, Enough? No... It wasn't enough. Her other fist raised, pulling back and readying itself. However it never moved forward, Kitiana's eyes widened as she felt a powerful blast against her stomach. Standing there for a few moments before the aura that had surrounded her vanished in an instant, along with all of that power she had displayed. As her transformation faded she fell forward, her eyes closed.
Her body however was quickly grabbed, preventing her from hitting the ground. But she could still feel everything, unconscious as she was. She felt the cold metallic body holding her, but her body was wracked with so much pain from her own power and the attack from Saizomaru everything had essentially shut down. The massive shock from the blow had caused what would be considered for a computer, a factory reset of sorts. The most she could force herself to do was twitch a finger every now-and-then, but it was nothing more than muscle spasm for the most part. Such an overwhelming force, but it was getting stronger... She could feel it. The energy, though tamed for now, was growing in strength. But why was that? Was it because of Saizomaru's power? Was he somehow drawing out more of her dormant power? Kitiana just didn't understand enough about this... And unfortunately she wasn't likely to be able to move to ask about this for awhile.
