Badman City, a barren wasteland with ruin buildings all around it. The repair to this city would definitely need aide from all sources if they were going to fix a once beautiful city that had a historical figure named after it. Thaw walked along this scenery, having heard the news report and knowing the WTF was involved with this plot or what he assumed to be the WTF. He nevertheless blame them for every chaos that he has personally encountered and for everything that this planet has gone through because of them.
Walking down a former pavement concrete road, he looked to his left and to his right, buildings that were once businesses and houses alike. He shook his head in disappointment and walking alone through this city all alone, he pondered at the thought of peace for once, but how was he going to achieve such a goal? He knew the namekian race were capable of creating the dragon balls, but its not when this will happen, but who will be the one to summon them and make this planet at peace once again.
"If only I was here during times like this, maybe I could of saved this city and its people.."
During Chime's time in Badman City, he'd stayed entirely around the more intact areas. His focus was on healing the people of the city, not the architecture, so he didn't have cause to visit the actual site of the battle that caused the city's curse in the first place. He'd spent some time away from the dreary city, for his own well-being, and returned with a renewed curiosity. If he was to truly understand the plight of the city, and how to fix it, he had to see the place where it started. So, though he wasn't looking forward to it, he made his way to ground zero.
As he made his way through the rubble-strewn streets, he was surprised to sense another person nearby. A fairly strong person, too, stronger than Chime was by quite a bit. He proceeded with caution, and when he rounded the corner to see the distinctive shape of an arcosian, he couldn't help but draw back a bit. He was a bit intimidated by arcosians, though he knew it was illogical. The few he'd met, while not the most cheerful people, had done nothing to hurt him, or even bother him. Still, he couldn't help but be careful, and kept his back to the wall as he stepped out around the corner to call out,
"Excuse me? Hello! Um, did you come to see the site of the battle, too...?"
He had heard another voice in the distance as he turned towards its direction. A namekian? This puzzled Thaw for he knew them to live only on the planet namek and hasn't really seen one on earth. He had casually walked over to the namekian and greeted the small being with a look of worry.
"Yes, I had come here because I only had wished that I had arrived on this planet prior to this city's invasion and maybe I could of protected it from the WTF members that did all this."
He wasn't one hundred percent sure that they had done it, but from what he has experience in the past. Where there is chaos, the WTF is in the front of it. He continued to walk down the streets, hoping this namekian would follow beside him.
"Tell me, what do you see from all this destruction that this city had to endure? I see wasted potential lost. I see the city never being the same again unless I do something about repairing it to its glory days. I am not from this planet, but I know what its like to lose parents to the WTF. They are vicious monsters that need to be taken down. I only wish that the dragon balls were on this planet so that we could wish all these problems to go away."
He looked to the namekian while he spoke, and then straight ahead as he continued.
"If we don't take a stand in beating these forces, who will beat these individuals and when?"
Chime had to speed up, nearly to a job, to keep up with the arcosian's longer stride, but he did follow along. As they walked, he glanced around at the various buildings they passed. Did they used to be a home? A shop? A restaurant? It was hard to tell, and seeing it made Chime more than a little glum. The topic of their conversation didn't help, either, but it was appropriate, for such a somber place.
"I don't know much about the Trade Fleet, myself. Not a lot of news made it to us back home. On Namek, I mean, if that...wasn't obvious. Heh." he gave one of his own antennae a flick and shot the arcosian a self-conscious smile. At his question, Chime stops, and takes a good look around the street they're on. His gaze found a park bench, with the legs on one side bent in, maybe from an energy blast, making the whole thing lean over to one side, unusable. He sighed, "I see...suffering. Pointless suffering. Because some does have a point, you know? You work hard, train, and become stronger. A little fish has to die because a bigger fish eats it, and lives. It accomplishes something. This..." he gestured around at the city, "I don't see what this accomplished. No one is even here ruling the place, as far as I've seen. They just ruined it, and then...left."
The mention of the dragon balls gave Chime pause. He went silent for a second as he chose his words, "...If there were dragon balls, what would you wish for? If you don't mind me asking."
He heard on what the namekian had said and turned to face him again as he was told what he would wish for.
"The resurrection of my parents. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here today. They saved my life escaping the WTF..."
Continuing to walk ahead, he sighed as he looked at a residential former home that had a baby carriage knocked over within its interior.
"I understand that your people can create the dragon balls. Does that mean you can create them?"
He turned to look at Chime, with a serious facial expression that looked like a cry for help.
"If we can use the balls to acquire, perhaps, the power to stop the WTF.. Do you think its possible.... to finally give not just this planet, but the other planets that had suffered because of them?"
Thaw knew that if this cycle continued, the WTF will dominate every single planet that they come across and even though he is so strong and powerful, not even him can go against an army that did damage to this city... alone... When it came to namekian culture, he assumed that anyone of their race could create the dragon balls and he was hoping that this one could make it.
Chime rubbed the back of his neck and looked away from the arcosian as they continued on down the streets. It took him a moment to figure out what his companion was looking at, inside the ruined house, and longer still to figure out what its purpose was. Like on Namek was so different than on Earth, and he was still learning new things every day. But with the size of the object, and the arcosian's somber talk of parents, he could piece together what a cradle was. He gave a heavy sigh as understanding hit him, and continued to gaze into the building, not at the man he was talking to,
"I'm sorry that happened to you. Really. I've...honestly never lost anyone like that, so I can't say I understand, but I am sorry," he told him, but then at such a direct question about the dragon balls, he froze. He was still trying to be careful who he told of his plans. Even if this arcosian seemed genuine enough in his intentions, he barely knew him, and couldn't tell how well he'd keep a secret.
"I...no. No, I can't," Chime told him, and it wasn't entirely a lie, "That would be nice though, wouldn't it? To wish for whatever you want? But I don't know what I'd ask for," he turned to face the arcosian finally, "What I do know is, you're not alone in wanting to protect the Earth. There's lots of people! I would know I'm one of them!" He smiled, and pointed a thumb to his chest, "If we all stick together, we might not even need wishes!"
A raised eyebrow was his current facial expression as the namekian was indeed acting suspicious. The way he responded only had made Thaw angry. It made him angry due to the namekian potentially hiding something that could very well be able to save this planet from extinction. He stared at this man with a stern look of almost a serial killer type of expression. Then the namekian went into a cheerful attitude and stated that together we would be able to stop the WTF forces.
"You have no idea what you are dealing with when it comes to them. The WTF has forces that are way stronger than myself. Just watch."
Thaw had backed away from the man and started to ascend to each of his transformations one by one. The first was his brute form, gaining some height and weight in the process. The second was his monster form, he gained a lot of more weight in the process while keeping the same height. Finally he went into his true form, retaining his suppression form height and adding an extra 50lbs to it. This form made his current power level at 150,000. If this being could feel that amount of power alone, then he would understand how strong arcosians were when it came to just being in their suppressive form rather than their true form. After showing the namekian all of his forms, he reverted back to his suppressive form and folded his arms to the namekian with a stern look.
"This planet will die by their hands if we don't do something about it! If you think i'm strong enough, imagine hundreds of others that are way stronger than me! The WTF isn't a faction to take lightly! I am currently in an organization that are going against the WTF and we plan to eliminate them. The way that you acted when I had asked you about the dragon balls, tells me that you know something. Help me..."
Thaw kneeling down before the namekian with both knees with tears in his eyes.
"To witness the death of my parents right in front of me.. Its something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. If we don't stop them, no one else will..."
He then rose to his feet and wiped his tears off his face as he folded his arms.
"If we don't stop them, then even planet Namek will be destroyed..."
The young Namekian went tense under the grave look the arcosian was giving him. It sent a feeling of dread right down to his gut. He couldn't help but backpeddle as the arcosian proceeded to go through each of his transformed states, getting progressively stronger with each one. First taller and stronger, then monstrous, then a sleek form that was the simplest yet, but somehow the most intimidating, and not just because of the power it was exuding. The arcosian still had that look on his face. It was the look of someone who would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.
He was powering down just as quickly as he'd powered up, and soon was back in his typical form. He'd seen through Chime's very thin ruse, and was now outright begging for his help. But Chime was shaking his head,
"...based on what I've seen just now, you're not someone I would trust with the power of the dragon balls," Chime told him, and was trying to keep his tone as even as possible, to mask the fear he felt at telling someone so powerful 'no', "Your goals are noble. I share them, sort of. I want to protect this planet. Not from the WTF, but from whatever wants to hurt it. I think that's why I'm here."
Chime took a breath, and continued, "I'm not stopping you. I don't think I could. But if the dragon balls ever exist again...when they exist again, I wouldn't hand them over to you, either."
He walked away from Chime with a disgust facial expression along with the scuff noise to go along with it. He couldn't believe that this namekian couldn't trust him. Though he wasn't surprised, after all, arcosians throughout time could never be trusted because of their own species. He sighed as he looked over his shoulder and at Chime.
"Just because i'm an arcosian, doesn't make me a bad person. I am a living being like you, we all aren't copies of one another. We all are unique individuals damn it. One day, I will prove to you that I am not like you imagine me to be."
He continued to walk away now, with his head fixed forward and attempting to leave the scenery.
Attempted exit, unless you want to continue to chat or perhaps spar idk. Its up to you really.
"I--" Chime began, but didn't bother to continue. It wasn't because of the arcosian's race, not really, though if Chime was being honest with himself that didn't help matters. But it was that look in his eyes, that would have set Chime on edge, no matter who the eyes belonged to. Determination was admirable, as was dedication to a cause, but...something about this man, and the way he acted, set off Chime's alarm bells. He had gone from fanatic about his cause, to tearful, and now angry and disgusted, all in a matter of moments. It didn't give Chime the impression of a stable individual, and certainly not someone he'd entrust a wish on an Eternal Dragon to.
The arcosian walked away, and Chime watched him go with a sigh, but didn't stop him. Once he'd rounded the corner, out of sight, the Namekian continued on his own way through the city.
