Powerlevel:42,000 Mollusc sat on a large rock above the clouds. He was on a large mountain they called Frappe. It sounded like a dumb name but he was not here to explain to the local why the mountain name should change. It was cold up there and he needed to be somewhere cold. Mollusc shivered a bit. He found his fate in Porunga shaking. He had never said anything to him. It was just silence. He thought it was his duty to help the Saiyan but he was wondering if he had done something wrong. Even worse maybe he was never his champion. He might have just been crazy. He didn't know. So he was here just trying to figure out what to do.
The winds were getting stronger and faster. He didn't like It. He just needed a sign yet there was nothing. Snow as starting to cover his body. He was about to become a statue in the snow. He didn't feel much just the cold. None a single touch of warmth from Porunga. "Why Porunga." He'd called out getting to his feet. The Winds from the blizzard made it for him to even hear himself. The snow slid off his body as he called out once more."What Did I do wrong!" The words echoed across the sky as he waited for something, anything. He didn't hear a thing. He didn't see a thing. Mollusc eyes wandered down as he sat back down. Was he truly lost?

Chime's PL: 18,000
Recently, Chime had begun his training to become Kami, led by the shinjin Kanrin and his assistant Polaire. In addition to simply learning how to fight, Polaire insisted he needed to 'toughen up.' To that end, he had been taken to this massive snowy mountain, and instructed not to return until he had climbed to the top. Chime spent a while just marveling at the snow, it was something he'd never seen before. But it didn't take long for the freezing temperature to get to him, and soon he had materialized himself a warm hat, scarf, and mittens. He had never been this cold in his life! Things lived up here? That seemed like it should be impossible, but he knew it had to be true, he could sense the ambient energy of the plants and animals all around him. The diversity of the Earth continued to amaze him, every day. As he neared the peak of the mountain, something caught his attention. An energy, much stronger than all the other life on the mountain. Chime would have been afraid of some sort of terrible snow-beast dwelling there, except the signature was familiar. It was much stronger than when he had last encountered it. Sure enough, around the next ridge sat his fellow Namekian, Mollusc, covered in snow. He was shouting something, but Chime couldn't make out what it was, over the wind. Mollusc was barely visible under all the snow, Chime just recognized him by his energy, and the pair of green antennae poking out of the fluffy white. What was he even doing up here? Was he training, too? Namekians weren't built for cold like this, after all, so maybe he'd had the same idea as Polaire had, and was doing some sort of endurance exercises. But from the way he was yelling to the sky, something seemed very wrong, and so Chime hurried over to his side. "Mollusc?" Chime called over the wind, "That's you under there, right? What're you doing up here? Are you okay?"

Mollusc posture stayed the same as the snow covered his body. He breathed out an icy breath. What the hell was he doing? He was angry. Why is his time of need he didn't speak? Porunga just must have been staring at him. He was a man of faith but if what was going on he needed answers. Yet he got none. Just the quiet hum of snow and wind. He was about ready to ice in then a voice. Someone or something was calling out to him. To tell him something? Maybe it was Porunga. Then he heard him speak again. It was Chime. Not that he was sad to see him but he was hoping, even praying for Porunga. He looks over to see Chime was coming closer. He had to greet him at least.
Mollusc pulled himself out of the snow. Snow fell off his body. Some Ice covered his Gi but he brushed it off with casual ease. It was much better to be warmer. It was like a breath of life to him. Yet he was hollow. There was no words to describe his agony. His faith had been tested before but he was at the breaking point. Desperation was on Mollusc face. The Warrior Namekian had never felt or looked so weak. His eye glistened was defeat. He was unsure where to go from this moment. He'd approach Chime covering his face as the snow blew into it. “It is good to see you Chime,” Mollusc called out trying to sound cheerful. He didn't want to trouble the dragon caste with his problems. He had to make the dragon balls. He didn't to worry about him. Still his face and tone clearly showed he was lost. “I'm fine. As long as your ok. May I ask why you here.” He dodged the question. He knew Chime might be able to help him but would it resolve it forever or just until he was lost again. There was no point wasting his time on such questions.

Chime frowned as he got closer, and peered up into Mollusc's face. It was a bit hard to read him with the blowing snow all around them, but the taller Namekian looked troubled. He was happy the snow was off him, at least, but Chime had to imagine he was still cold. Chime himself was cold, and he was bundled up in a hat and scarf. What in the world was Mollusc doing up here? But the warrior avoided his question, instead turning the conversation on Chime himself. The redirection wasn't subtle at all, and made him even more suspicious, but he could tell Mollusc wasn't keen on talking about whatever was bothering him. So instead of press him, he answered his question,
"I'm alright, just chilly. I came here to train!" Chime stood up at tall as he could, and tried to look dignified, "I'm trying to become Kami, and to do that, I need to get stronger. This shinjin is training me, along with his, er...friend." he dropped the important, put-together look he was going for to rub the back of his neck, thinking back to Polaire and his intense training.
"You look like you've been up here a while," he continued, trying to gently prompt Mollusc to tell him why, "I bet you're freezing. Here," and he clapped both his hands together. They began to glow with a white light, which grew as he brought his hands farther and farther apart. Once his hands were as far as he could reach, the light between them solidified with a light poof, into a long red scarf. He offered it up to Mollusc.

Mollusc brightened up as Chime talked. He is able to focus on things that were not himself or Porunga. Chime was explaining that he was up here to train. "I see that is good Chime." He'd smile to him. He could help him of course but he seemed to have it covered. He was already training with a Shinjin. "That is a good start Chime. If you need anything I'm happy to help." Mollusc said. Maybe if he helped Chime out id give a chance for Porunga to come and bring him a message. Then he shook his head, that was not what mattered. Chime was a nice he didn't need to help him to meet Porunga. Just to help him grow as a person. So he could protect their adopted homeworld.
Chime started to ask why he was up here. That what he got out of it. He was unsure what he wanted to say to Chime. Would he be able to help him? Ramen had tried but nothing had come out of it. He was only more lost. He relied on the signs of Porunga. Still, he did think about it. Maybe Chime would know something that could help him. Maybe some good advice. He'd even made him a scarf. He'd put it on. He felt less cold with it. "Well...I have a problem." He'd explain. "I have been trying to contact Porunga but nothing. I'm starting to wonder maybe I was wrong. Maybe I was thinking I was Special but i'm like everyone else. Everything I've done for the past years was with a belief I was Porunga's chosen but now i'm lost i'm unsure what I want to do. Or what I'm supposed to do. I came up here hoping to find answers but so far nothing. Untill you came of course." Mollusc bowed his head to Chime.

Chime stood beside Mollusc and gazed out at the snowy clouds as he listened to the other Namekian's troubles. The 'chosen of Porunga' was something he'd heard Mollusc talk about before, but it wasn't any role Chime had ever heard of, even in legend. The closest thing he could think of was the Guru, but that was clearly not what he meant. But Chime had never heard of Porunga 'choosing' anyone. He was a great dragon, bound to the dragon balls. He was summoned when people willed it, and granted the wishes his summoners asked of him. Porunga was the one that followed what people said, not the other way around. Still, Chime would have to put all that delicately. Mollusc was steadfast in his devotion to this cause of his, and the fact it wasn't working out was clearly upsetting to him. He didn't want to hurt his friend more by telling him he might be wrong.
"Well...if you're looking to talk to Porunga, what are you doing up here?" he asked, "If you want to talk to a great dragon, you need to summon him with the dragon balls. And I don't think any Namekian dragon balls are up on this mountain." He looked aside to Mollusc, and gave him a smile before continuing, "But Mollusc...how did you become chosen, anyway? Was there a sign of some kind? And what does being chosen mean, what were you chosen to do?"

Chime seemed willing to help. That was good. He was ready to here Chime advice. He'd look at Chime as he began to speak his head nodding as he listened to him. He asked why he was up here of all places. "It is high up and has harsh conditions. I was hoping Porunga would speak to me up here. It seemed the best place to check it out at. That what I think anyway." He'd confess. He didn't know how else he'd know to contact him. He just randomly allowed his voice to be heard by him. That was his theory anyway. He noted that he would need the dragonballs to soummon him to talk to him. "Yes but I've heard his voice. He called to me. To Protect the Saiyans. I know it. Yet, at the same time that was the most I've heard. that one snippet of his voice." Mollusc said confused why Chime would think that was the only way to talk to him.
Then Chime made the big note. How did he become Chosen? Mollusc had not told anyone huh. "I see that is quite important. I was on Vegeta. I was lost and didn't know what to do. I was traveling across the land when I heard a booming voice. I could not tell where it was from. I heard the words, "You Must..." He'd pause, "Saiyans." He'd end with that. "Naturally I decided it was Porunga voice. He wanted to guide him to a path where I could reach my potentail. He must have wanted me to protect the saiyans." Mollusc said looking at Chime. "So I was chosen by Porunga to protect the saiyan people from all threats. That has and always will be my job as a champion of Porunga." Mollusc felt better, why should he lose faith. That still happened.

"Protect the Saiyans...?" Chime echoed, and looked confused. Why would Porunga care about the Saiyans? If the great dragon was going to command someone, surely he would tell them to protect his own people, the Namekians? Something wasn't adding up here. Mollusc went on to describe how he'd heard a voice, and the message he'd been given about the Saiyans. Chime bit at the inside of his cheek as he thought. That was as vague a message as he'd ever heard, and to assume it meant 'protect' was a pretty big leap. That missing word could have been anything, it could have been telling Mollusc to 'kiss Saiyans', or anything else. Mollusc looked happier after telling Chime that story, though, and he felt terrible telling the other Namekian his mission from Porunga was probably not from a dragon at all. He didn't want him to be disappointed.
It wouldn't do much good to tell Mollusc his vision had been false if he didn't have any alternate explanation, though, so Chime decided right then that he had to get to the bottom of this. He took a moment to conjure himself a simple wooden stool, planted its four legs in the snow so it wouldn't fall, and stood up next to Mollusc, now at an even height with him. Chime's hands began to glow with gentle blue, healing light, and reached up to examine the other Namekian's head for injury, if he'd allow, "May I? I just...I wanna check something."
He continued asking questions, partially because he wanted answers, and partially to just distract Mollusc from asking his own about what Chime was doing, "You got your message on Vegeta? Why were you over there in the first place?"

He looked on concerned. Chime seemed confused? Did he not explain something right. He was unsure what he wanted to say. He was going to have to wait for Chime to ask him more questions he supposed. So he sat there thinking to wait for Chime. Porunga must have wanted to test him. Chime was one of the dragon caste after all. Of course, he knew if he Porunga was talking to him or not. Course if he just asked him then he'd show his unfaithfulness. He was starting to feel better but he also felt a gnawing annoyance. He was going back into the same pattern. He was slowly going back to thinking Porunga was around. Yet, he had only that and some other stories of Porunga. Ramen had poked holes in Porunga and now he was asking the help of Chime who should know the answer. Yet, he was not getting one. Not yet anyway.
Finally, Chime seemed to ask for him to touch his head. He'd shrug letting him do so. If he was trying to heal some great injury he had there was really nothing to heal. He had been hurt before sure and he might have been slightly off the not sane scale but there was no injury. He was fine. Regardless Chime asked him why he was in even their. "I was born on Namek. However, Vegeta was in need of warriors so I was sent to Vegeta. I grew up there like everyone else. Namek was just a faint memory for me." He'd say to Chime. There was really not much to it. Still, he was hoping for a concrete answer from Chime. He was oblivious to the fact Chime was checking if there was anything wrong just waiting for an answer.

"Huh...so you're more from Vegeta than you are from Namek, pretty much?" Chime puzzled aloud as he looked over Mollusc's head. He hadn't heard of Namek sending any soldiers to Vegeta, or anywhere for that matter, they'd been keeping to themselves until very recently. But, it was possible it had been before Chime's time, Mollusc seemed a bit older than him. And besides, Chime wasn't privy to all the goings-on of the Warrior caste, they may have been up to many things he didn't know about. But it still didn't seem quite right.
Mollusc's head seemed uninjured at least, so that was good news. Chime had been concerned the other Namekian had hit his head at some point, and gotten his memory mixed up, or maybe been made to hear voices. But he seemed physically healthy. Whatever Mollusc had heard, Porunga or otherwise, it looked like he actually did hear it. Chime leaned back a bit to regard him for a moment, then set his hands on Mollusc's shoulders.
"Here's what I think. I think you need to stop worrying about Porunga. If you feel like you should protect the Saiyans, then go protect the Saiyans. If you feel like you want to stay here on Earth and do something else, then do that. But it sounds like you're too hung up on what other people are telling you to do." He gave Mollusc's shoulders a pat, and smiled, "You need to figure out what you want to do, just as Mollusc, not a champion of anything."

"Yes," Mollusc stated as Chime asked if he was more from Vegeta to Namek. He looks at chime trying to figure out what Chime was thinking. He really could not tell. He was waiting as he seemed to be trying to heal him? He was privy to that at least. Still, Chime leaned in and put his hand on his shoulders. Mollusc looked at Chime as he spoke. He told him straight. He wanted him not to worry about Porunga and just protect the saiyans if he wanted to protect the saiyans. He should not worry what Porunga had to tell him. He really was unsure how to respond to that. He has also been a servant of Porunga. He never really thought of doing just what he wanted to do. He did what he thought Porunga would want him to do for him.
He was telling him how he was hung up on letting people tell him what to do. Mollusc frowned thinking. Chime was not giving him the answer he wanted but at the same time, it did make him think. He was the one who had all the choice. He had to decide what to do. So what did he want to do? That was the question that he was now asking himself. If he was not going to follow Porunga what was his purposes. If he was serving only himself, what was that purpose? Mollusc didn't say anything. He closed his eyes just thinking on how he could respond to this. To have a game plan going forward.

When Mollusc didn't reply for a moment, and seemed to be lost in thought, Chime gave him another pat on the shoulder, then hopped off his conjured stool, back into the snow. He laid his hands on the stool to begin the process of dematerialization it, but that took him a minute, and as he worked, he continued speaking, "When I left home, I didn't have any idea what I was doing, you know. I felt restless, and I wanted to see the universe. Earth, especially. I thought it would help me become stronger, wiser. But I was pretty aimless, I didn't have an actual plan. You saw me, I was a mess!" He laughed a little, remembering how much of a tizzy he'd been in when he'd first landed on Mount Paozu.
The wooden stool vanished into sparkling dust, and Chime clapped his hands together, "And then I met you! And you told me Earth has no dragon balls. It felt like it was fate, y'know? Like that was what was calling me to Earth, without me knowing it. So I dedicated myself to that, creating the dragon balls, or helping to however I could. And now look at me!" He spread his arms out with a big smile on his face, "I'm up here training to become Guardian of Earth! I guess you're kinda like my Porunga, huh? You gave me my mission."
He turned out to face the snowy landscape again, and tugged his scarf tighter around his chin, "...My point's gotten away from me. I just meant to say that, I believe in fate, but I also believe we can choose our own path. I was destined to come here, to meet you, to get that information, but what I did with it after that, that was all on me. Does that make sense?"

Chime seemed to have even more to say. He talked about how left this planet and he had no idea what he was going to do. Then he saw him. He was the one who gave him his destiny? Mollusc looked surprised but he didn't speak. He had given Chime path as he was working to become the guardian of Earth. He was working hard at that and had a goal. That was because of him? He was unsure what to say. He still keeps listening as he'd look at the landscape around them as he keeps explaining. He believed in faith but he also thought that they had their own choice. So he had a choice he could make. He could serve Porunga or himself. That is what he got out of it. Still, he didn't speak looking at Chime as he spoke.
"Yes that makes some sense," Mollusc confessed to Chime. "I'm still unsure what I want to do. I do believe Porunga gave me a task to do. However, I don't think my life needs to revolve around that. I am Mollusc." Mollusc said calmly. He was unsure what else their was to say. Still Chime had really helped him. He felt more at ease now. While he had not found the answer yet he knew it’d soon come to him. “So now that you helped me. How can I help you Chime.” He’d ask, he had to repay him back in some way.

Chime smiled up at Mollusc. He was genuinely glad he'd been able to get through to the other Namekian a bit, though he couldn't tell him exactly what to do next. That was for Mollusc to decide. A particularly strong wind came by, and he shivered, and pulled his knit hat further down over his ears. He looked up towards the mountain top, but couldn't see it, for all the thick white fog and clouds that surrounded them this high up. That was no good, he couldn't see how much farther he had to go.
"You don't owe me or anything, y'know," Chime told him, "But if you really want to help...I'm supposed to be climbing to the top of this mountain. To toughen me up, y'know? I'm not sure how far we are, but I think we're close. I've been literally climbing since the wind got this bad, I'm kinda afraid to fly in this."
He gave Mollusc another smile, and started to trudge his way through the snow, further up the mountain, "It's fine if you wanna stay here, though. I bet you've still got a lot to think about, right?"

Chime made a note that he did not need to own him a thing. Mollusc shook his head. "No, I do. You have helped me. If I can help you i'm going too." Mollusc smiled at Chime. He explained he needed to climb to the top of the mountain. He'd walk over with Chime. "You'll be fine. I'll Climb with you." Mollusc smiled at Chime. Chime noted that if he wanted to stay he could. Still, he was sure he wanted to go with Chime. "Well we can climb this mountain then I can help you train," Mollusc said to him as he walked with Chime. There was not much else to see. He was just going to do whatever he could to help Chime.
