He didn't speak much as they hiked up the mountain, all of his focus had to be on climbing. The wind was threatening to blow him over, and was only getting stronger the higher they went. The white-out from the snow was intense, and they could only see a couple of feet in front of their faces. Chime knew Mollusc was still there only because he could sense his energy beside him, but he didn't dare take his eyes off the path ahead of him. At one point, Chime came to a large outcropping of rocks they could take shelter beneath, so he ducked behind it for protection. He took a few moments to conjure himself a simple walking stick to help keep balance, and then made a second, taller one, which he gave to Mollusc.
They continued hiking for some time after that (How tall was this mountain? Chime thought they'd been close!) when Chime thought he could see something in the distance through the snow and fog. It looked like a long piece of cloth, flapping in the wind. A flag! It must have been to mark the summit! The little Namekian's face broke into a grin, and he picked up his pace to run as fast as he could through the snow, towards that flag.
"C'mon Mollusc, look! We're almost there! That's th-- AAH!"
A particularly strong gust blew down the mountainside, and caught Chime's robes like a sail. It sent him flying, up out of the snow, and then falling through the air off the steep mountain. He screamed in fear and alarm, and did his best to try and fly back to the mountain, but he still wasn't a strong flier, and the chaotic winds were enough to fight against him and stop his ascent. He was falling slower than your average person would, as a result, but he was still falling, and his desperate attempts at flight only delayed the inevitable.

Mollusc followed close behind Chime. While he could easily get ahead he was not there to get in the way of Chime training. Only if he needed it. Mollusc watched as the cold winds blew down on them. They took a slight break behind some rocks. Chime even made him a nice walking stick. He was not going to say no to his friend. So he took it and once they moved off following Chime keeping himself close behind. He believed in Chime, he could do what he put his mind too. Mollusc followed as they finally were near the top. Mollusc could see the flag in the distance. It must of been the top. Chime rushed towards it but then a strong wind picked up. Mollusc covered his face as he saw Chime sail through the air. He didn't seem able to fly. He was falling.
Mollusc sprung into action as he got ready to catch Chime by flying over but then stopped. This was what he could do for Chime! Chime had given him this great advice so maybe he could try the safe. Chime was struggling to fly. Maybe if he gave him some word of encouragement he'd be able to do it. He'd thought deep and hard what he wanted to say his friend to try and get him to fly. Still, he also thought it'd be good as he ran down just in case Chime did fall so he could catch him, "Chime. Focus your ki. Can you feel it burning in you? Concentrate it around your body and make yourself a light. I know i'm not good at explaining this." Mollusc said, trying to explain how flying. worked. "I believe you can do it!" He'd call out to Chime, trying to encourage to fly on his own.

The wind continued to whip around Chime, and the little Namekian continued to float there and scream his head off. He knew how to fly, a little bit, but only at about a running speed, not the super-sonic speeds he knew some could reach. He was able to fight against the wind to slow his hurtling fall to a slow downward float, but he wasn't strong enough to make headway against it, and so was still headed off the cliffs. He was panicking, hard, but somehow Mollusc's voice cut through the wind and his own inner turmoil to reach him.
Chime had learned to fly using magic, not ki, meaning he manipulated the energy of the world around him to stay airborne, not his own internal energy. It was the same way he was able to create objects out of thin air. Because of this, Mollusc's advice to focus on his ki was fairly useless to him, but that didn't matter. The part that got through to him was 'I believe you can do it!' It broke through the hurricane of panic in Chime's mind and let him actually think. He couldn't fly faster than the wind was pushing him, and trying to learn here on the spot was a long shot. He had to focus on what he already knew how to do.
A white light shone over his person, and a second later, a climbing hook was soaring through the air towards Mollusc, with a rope attached and trailing behind it. The other end was connected to Chime, who continued to conjure more rope until the hook hit its target. It could actually hit Mollusc, if the warrior Namekian wasn't fast enough, but Chime didn't have time to worry about that. He could apologize and heal him later, assuming he didn't become green paste at the bottom of this mountain.
"Catch!!"

He'd look down worried Chime was not going to be able to do it. Then he seemed to think of something. He'd watch as he started to form a hook with rope on it and he seemed to throw it. He was unsure what he was supposed to do. If he helped him it'd ruin his goal here. So Mollusc decided to quickly move out of the way. Then he'd fly down under Chime just in case the hook missed something he could grab on them climb back up the mountain on. "Alright, good idea Chime. Once you hook something you can climb back up. Don't worry if you miss i'll catch you." He'd say being right under Chime so he knew that he was not telling him lies. "I know you can do it. You can do anything you put your mind to Chime." He'd call out trying to Push Chime to do this. If he wanted to be stronger he'd be there to help him but not to carry him there. That what he concluded.

"Mollusc?!" Chime shouted in a panic when his friend didn't catch the rope, like he'd hoped, but instead moved out of the way and dodged it. What was he doing?! The hook and rope continued sailing through the air, and Chime was left free-falling for a heartstopping moment, before the hook sunk through the snow and caught into the rocky earth below. The rope, with Chime on one end, went taught and swung around the cliff's edge, slamming the little Namekian into the side. That almost made him lose his grip completely and start to fall all over again, but he managed to keep his grip. He hung there swaying as the wind swung the rope side to side, and shot a glare down at Mollusc, who now floated below him giving words of encouragement. But Chime looked anything but pleased.
"What was that? I thought you were going to help me, you--" his sentence dissolved into very angry, very colorful Namekian, certainly not words fit for the future Guardian of Earth. He trailed off into annoyed grumbling as he, slowly but surely, climbed his way up the rope, and soon pulled himself up over the cliff and back onto the mountain. His front was covered in snow, but he didn't bother to brush it off. He just hugged his arms around himself, hunched over, and started climbing again, with extra care to dig his feet into the snow as he walked, so the wind wouldn't blow him over again. Soon, he was at the tattered flagpole, the very summit of Mount Frappe. He gave the pole a light tap with his mittened hand, then let himself collapse onto his back in the snow, breathing hard.
"I...am never coming back here...it's too damned cold..."

Chime seemed to think he was going to grab it. The hook he used work just fine though as he didn't fall into his arms. He didn't seem very happy about it. He was about to say something but Chime was focused on climbing up. He would stay under Chime so if he did fall he could catch him and help him. Chime was about to get to the top and reach the flag as he collapsed in the snow sitting there as he noted it was too cold and he was not going to come back. Mollusc sat down next to Chime looking at the flag. "You climbed to the top of this mountain. You should be proud of that." Mollusc said looking at the sky above them. Snow landed on his face as he moved down looking across the sky to the other moutains in the distance.
"I didn't help you because then you'd not get what you need. You're trying to get stronger yes? When I first meet you I told you that if I can protect you from anyone who would harm you. However, I am not as strong as I thought I was. Agiasnt most people in the universe it is not a big deal. Agiasnt someone at a high level, it is not as simple. You want to be as strong as you can to protect the earth. If others need to carry you to that strength it is hollow. It is going to hurt and be hard. If I just helped you when it was your toughest moment what then. Next time if you have to fight for your life. What will you do if i'm not there." Mollusc asked Chime, trying to make him understand what he was thinking. He hoped Chime would understand why he did what he did.

Chime laid on his back and looked up at the falling snow as he listened to Mollusc explain himself. He...was right, honestly. If he just helped Chime as soon as things got hard for him, then he wouldn't get any stronger, and that was what he had come up here to do. He'd understood, logically, that he couldn't rely on others so much, but when it came down to it for real, that had still been his first instinct, to reach out to his friend for help. He wasn't sure if this climb had made him stronger, exactly, but he had learned a lesson.
"Since when did you get so wise?" Chime teased, just before he packed together a snowball and tossed it sideways at Mollusc. When he sat up and dusted the snow off himself, he was smiling again, "...But thank you. Really. You've helped me a lot. I'm sorry if I yelled at you back there."
He sat in silence for a few minutes, just watching the snow with his friend, until another strong wind blew by. Chime pulled his robes close around himself and shivered, then stood up, and offered Mollusc a hand, "I dunno about you, but I'm freezing. Want to head back?"

Mollusc smiled when Chime seemed to ask how he got so wise. "When you read all about Porunga you pick up things here and there," Mollusc said. It was nice though, thinking on his own. Being himself. He didn't have to worry about signs from Porunga. Still, it did leave him lost somewhat deep down. Yet, with the help of his friends, he'd find his way. Chime even threw a snowball at him which he didn't notice as he was musing as it hit him right in the face. He turned laughing as it hit him as he laid in the snow for a bit as Chime seemed to be cleaning himself off. Then Chime offered him to hand. Seems it was time to go. "Yeah thanks." He'd reach out his hand to Chime could help him off. He felt some much clearer now. He only hopes this clarity would last.
