Born under the rule of one of the noble houses of the Saiyan Kingdom, Belle was sent off to a distant alien planet so that she might ravage it and prepare it for conquest at the tender young age of a week old. The practice was antiquated by that time, but her father was getting on in years and wished for a proper heir. A proper warrior. Unfortunately for her father, Belle’s tenure on that distant planet did not go how it normally would.
Whether by fate or sheer happenstance, Belle’s arrival was not a smooth one. Her tail was severed upon landing. Alone and helpless, she spent a large portion of the day crying. It seemed her fate was sealed where it not for a rare ability that was uncommon amongst saiyans. Her infant mind reached out far and wide, causing a stir in the native wildlife.
Attracted by this strange sensation, one of the native beasts discovered Belle and took her back to live with their pack. Her abilities allowed her to subconsciously communicate her needs and wants to the alien beasts. She lived among them for three years peacefully, never facing the peril required to regrow her tail.
Belle rediscovered her spacepod and said her farewells to her foster family, returning to her actual family in turbulent times. Her mother was overjoyed at her return, but her father was displeased with her weakness. Her father, Lord Chard, often sparred with her, trying to make her stronger, but the training never seemed to take. Time and time again Belle would walk away with bruises and tears to her mother, Lady Karra.
War was on the horizon, Belle was left with a servant while her parents went off to fight. Her mother did not return. Her father did. He became colder and bitter, refusing to even so much as look at his disgrace of a daughter whose face reminded him of his lost love. Belle spent a lot of time alone, feeling neglected. She wanted so badly to get her father’s love. So, she would make one last big attempt.
One late night, Belle crept into her father’s study, swaddled in a blanket and carrying a book her mother used to read to her to help her sleep. She had a great plan to try and read it to him because she could see an aura of gloom hanging over him. She thought maybe it would help him too. He reacted poorly to her quiet approach, batting her away with a hand. Something in him snapped. The very next day he ordered her to be sent away to their next of kin.
The journey took three long years. Her ship was old. Slow. Barely holding itself together. Belle entered a deep sleep for most of that time. The next thing she knew, she had arrived on Namek all alone. It was strange, but not an unwelcome change of scenery. Still, more than a little scared, Belle tried to remember the name of the relative that she had been sent to meet.
