"HRAAH! GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE RAT!"
A massive wave of Ki exploded outwards, just barely scraping past the shoulder of a green-clad woman. She spun like a top in the air, letting loose her own barrage of energy. The rain splashed in all directions, hitting a trio of bandits who were unfortunate enough to be standing in just the wrong spot. Their bodies soared across the sandy dunes, falling into an unconscious heap a few hundred feet away from the ruined encampment.
"I'll slow down when you catch me! Hah!"
Stopping in the air a good distance above her foes, Min gave the group a peace sign and a wink, further infuriating the leader of the bandits. The incredibly hairy, incredibly large Kabochan, tossed his massive club into the air, but Min caught it with ease. Twirling it around in her hand, she flung it back down like a javelin, clocking another one of the bandits in the jaw. He tumbled to the ground, covered in sand as he slipped into unconsciousness.
Looking around the camp, Min wiped her brow. This fight had been going on for a fair bit now, and even though she outpowered them by a massive amount, she was by no means outnumbering them. They sat somewhere in the hundreds, and so far she'd taken out about three dozen. They were nothing but fodder, really; the real issue was the leader. Big and burly, he had some semblance of control over Ki, making it dangerous to stick around to fight big groups lest they pin her down.
Min barrel-rolled out of the way of another Ki beam, flashing the jewel in her hand tauntingly. The blood-red ruby was not just a trinket, though. These bandits had been collecting a ton of them over the past few weeks, and from her small experience with the things, they could only be a bad omen. It seemed that crushing one of these rubies in your palm would give the user a massive surge of energy, if only for a moment. Though they had no inherent cursed nature or drawback, they were consistently sought after by bad people.
"C'mon dude, make it hard for me, huh? I wanna get a sweat going before I take a shower!"
"I'll crush you like a bug you-- URGHHHHHHHH! JUST STOP FLYING!"
But of course, Min did not stop. Instead she kept buzzing around, peppering the huge camp with energy. It'd take some time, but her hit-and-run strategy was getting her somewhere.

The wonders of science were capable of many things once thought impossible. The science of ki was once a mystery, and, many many millennia ago, even faster-than-light travel was deemed an optimistic impossibility. But, now? Now, you could span the diameter of the galaxy in a day. Fospha, mind you, hadn’t quite done that. No, her trip had a pitstop.
From Vegeta, leaving at the urging of Director Chill, to a space station on alert and, finally, to Earth. Never had there been a more notable unnotable world. Frankly, it was a bit boring, but at least it wasn’t Vegeta… although, it looked a bit like it. At least, this ‘Diablo Desert’ bit that they had landed in did.
”It isn’t the most scenic of locations, is it?”
”It isn’t, Director Fospha.”
”Well, what is there to be done about it?” A rhetorical question, of course. Fospha knew precisely what could be done about it. Indeed, she was to make it so. ”We don’t want to move from our current location too much. For a radius of, let’s say, half a kilometre, let’s run some rudimentary chemical tests.” Fospha was hoping for some water. Being a bronze doragon she was best suited to the coast, but an oasis was basically just an island’s coast in reverse.
”We’re picking up a lot of silicon,” because of course they did, it was a desert, ”there’s less water than the reported planetary average, but nearby there are some crystalline structures.” ‘Structure’ was a loose term. It could mean a castle made from gems, or the diamond on a ring.
Besides, if the rudimentary detection hadn’t detected precisely what it was, that meant that the material was a galactic rarity, which usually meant that it was expensive, which usually meant that Fospha wanted some. ”Yes, OK, let’s give it a look.” She was already preparing to be disappointed.
In not long at all, floating ominously closely, was the Erudite.
It was a sleek vessel, aerodynamic despite mainly traversing through space. It also had quite a few guns, cleverly hidden away and ready to strike. But perhaps its appearance wasn’t quite as alarming as its sudden, unexplained appearance and the way it ominously blotted out the sun. ”Oh, yes, this is interesting. What do we have here?” she asked no one, almost breaking out into a giggle. ”Keep the ship here. I wish to make acquaintance with some potential business partners.”
From the perspective of the brawling aliens and a perhaps-unfortunate Earthling, the bottom of the ship would open up. Where there was once uniformity, came stairs. And, coming down those stairs, was a young woman in an orange dress. She had horns and a tail, sure, but that was beside the point.
She smoothly glided down to the common ruffians below and let her scouter do what it did best. There seemed to be a fight going on… perhaps this presented an opportunity. An opportunity to seize by the neck.
Perhaps, a show of power?
Zaps of lightning started to move across Fospha’s skin. Her eyes and the tattoo-like triangle markings below her eyes started to glow with an electric yellow— it intensified, and intensified further still, until she herself was a storm in and of itself!
Those below might’ve felt it, too: the zap of static electricity, the slight rising of their hair; but it would not develop any further than that. For the time being, anyway.
”I am Director Fospha of the World Trade Fleet. You serve me now.”
Howdy! Fospha had not yet noticed the rubies. She's seen the conflict and its effects, but has not yet singled out Min as its cause. PL:3,870

Min pirouetted through the air, popping off another wave of energy balls down toward the sand. Her blasts destroyed a jeep, sending the bandits driving it flying into a nearby tent. She pumped her fist excitedly, only to duck a fraction too late as a rock soared past her side. It slashed her arm, but it was little more than a scratch. Turning to sneer at the mook who'd hurt her, she was surprised to see he'd been flattened by a ship that'd suddenly landed.
That was definitely weird. Usually baddies didn't arrive from space, so this was new. Was this one of those Fleet fellas?
The fighting stopped almost instantly, the whole camp watching in confusion (or for some, fear) as the hatch on the underside opened, revealing a golden alien. Her tail was massive, and her power perhaps less so. Min watched with interest, slipping the ruby in her hand into a pouch on her side as energy danced across the dragon-alien's scales. Her declaration was sharp and ominous. Min's fears had been answered, she supposed. Before she could speak, the leader of the bandits shrieked in fear, a tone unbecoming of his massive stature escaping him.
"The Fleet, here?! CHEESE IT BOYS!"
With that, the camp flew into a frenzy, each remaining bandit running this way and that. Some hopped into jeeps or buggies and gunned it into the sands, while others started scooping up rubies hidden in tents or under boxes before booking it with the added weight of dozens of jewels. The power of the rubies seemed to help them scurry away, if only a tad.
"The World Trade Fleet?" Min tapped a finger to her chin, floating closer to the ramp. Her power slowly dipped, returning to its normal. She didn't want to come off as a threat to this dragon, not yet anyways. "It's kinda strange to see you military types so far out in the sand. You guys lookin' for something specific, or just kinda browsing?"
She tilted her head, and made sure not to come too close. The space girl across from her was currently exploding with electric power, after all. It made Min's hair all frizzy, which really put a damper on her whole style.
"I don't know about the whole servitude thing. I've never been too big a fan of slave stuff. Maybe we can be... Business partners? Just for today, at least."

For a mere moment, all was still. For that single moment, Fospha’s plan was on its tracks. And, then? Chaos. Chaos, like you’d never believe.
No, Fospha had not anticipated this. Frankly, she was disappointed. She was going to grant them the luxury of working for her and making riches off of those poor fools who decided to be born poor. Soon enough, there was only one grunt left. Except, it might not have been a grunt, no. No, this was an Earthling— or, probably, anyway. You could never really tell at a glance, and that third eye was just muddling things up further. ”’Browsing’? Yes, let’s go with that.” Whoever this was, she clearly wasn’t affiliated with the mooks. Fospha had yet to decide if this was a good or bad thing.
”You misunderstand. I’m not enslaving anyone.” Yet. ”I was merely looking for some local lackeys to act as an extension of my will and be paid in turn but, alas, they are the sort of run away from any opportunity that presents itself.” Quite literally, too, by the looks of it. Did her wording make it seem like she was going to enslave these people? Perhaps. But if they weren’t prepared to have their hard work be rewarded with further strife, they weren’t ready for having jobs anyway.
”Oh?” Fospha crossed her arms, the static dying down but never quite leaving. She didn’t really care for having local lackeys like she claimed she did, she was mostly just doing this for the entertainment value. And, if this foolish earthling could supply that, why not exploit it? ”What do you propose?”
