The Earthling of infinite wealth walked back up onto the quickly cleaned and polished arena, her ears now quite used to the roaring of the crowd that greeted her, and the same smile she'd used before still apparent on her face as she gave the citizens of North City a big wave. "You guys look pumped and ready for the next match: the final one in the first round of the league!" she said into the microphone, the audience cheering in response, as expected. "Well, let's wrap this up with a bang! Show me our last two fighters!" Polbo declared as she swung around and pointed straight up at the jumbo screen, the names and faces of the powerful warriors appeared for all to see.
After the two fighters had properly appeared, Polbo spoke back up, "We have this sleek and shiny and very, very white Arcosian: Shiver! And they'll be battling the literal force of nature, who could really use a haircut: Synthesia!" Polbo made her way into the safe zone across the battlefield, before speaking one last time. "Let's give it up for these two, and hope for a good match! The battle may now begin!"

| Synthesia VS Shiver! |
"HEY! MY HAIR IS REALLY NICE!"
Synthesia shook his fist up at the pink-haired human who had so gravely insulted his pride. What right did she have to insult his hair? Her head was literally a bundle of tentacles! What? How did hair like that even function? Humans sure were dumb.
But space lizards were even dumber, so Synthesia would hold off his undying rage. For now. Synthesia hummed as he skipped into the battlefield, spinning his ruby around on his finger absentmindedly. He didn't really know why he entered the tournament- or why he was placed into the Little Leagues, for that matter. Didn't they know how strong he was? He guessed that it didn't really matter- he'd just hold back.
Anyways! Space lizards. Synthesia still didn't really like them, and that whole debaccle with the trying to take a city or something and then stopping or something really didn't sit all too well with him. Not that they even sat well with him before- but they definately didn't now. He stood at the edge of the stadium, waiting for his opponent to arrive...

Was it really necessary to include the "very very" description? Like really, Shiver was well aware that she wasn't the most colorful being out there. But why did they have to make sure everyone else was aware of it now too? Normally she was proud of her smooth paleness, thinking that it paired nicely with her silver crystalline gems. Instead she suddenly felt like everyone was staring holes into her because she was "too white," and now she was questioning every other aspect about herself too. Like her tail, were they going to make fun of that next?
Shiver shook her head briefly, shoving the stray thoughts into the back of her mind. None of that mattered, she just had to go out and fight against this...young girl? Shiver's eyes widened slightly stepped up near the battlefield, looking across to her opponent. Synthesia huh? To be honest, she didn't really feel comfortable hitting a human child, even if they were about the same size currently. That said, Shiver could sense the power from the small form and it was nothing to sneeze at, definitely something capable of tanking a few punches. She didn't anticipate needing more than her first form though, hence the reason she was still in it.
With a nod to show she was ready, Shiver's bright silver aura burst to life around her as she took the stage proper. Instantly she fell into a fighting stance, content to let her opponent make the first move. She wasn't going to underestimate anyone, no matter how weak they looked or seemed. She herself looked like a small hornet midget at the moment, but she had three transformations that drastically changed that.

| Synthesia vs Shiver|
And so, the lizard was here.
Seemed like she was... a bit smaller than the others he knew. Weaker, too. Didn't most of them power up the second they laid eyes on anything that moved? Maybe this one was just weird. Synthesia kneeled down for a second, clasping his hands together in some kind of prayer. He took a peak at his opponent with one open eye, smirking slightly. "So. You're gonna be the one I gotta beat first, right?" Synthesia nodded.
"You seem like you're only a smidgen stronger than me. That's not gonna be enough!" Synthesia let out a giggle as he got to his feet, noting that the Arcosian was letting him make the same move "After all, I'm special!" As soon as the words came out of his mouth, the distance between the two of them was closed. Synthesia didn't move- the ground moved him, the shockwave of the rocky stadium floor's movement reverberating off the walls.
Synthesia winked at his opponent before throwing a punch. Or- so it seemed.
His fist stopped right before impact. The child of nature snapped his finger together, and a gaggle of roots sprouted up behind Shiver, aiming to wrap around her tail!

Shiver frowned openly at the little kid's words, and the lack of concern behind them. Was she being underestimated? By someone she was stronger than too? Well that was an annoying thought, suddenly she was less concerned about hitting a minor. Also...was that girl a boy actually? The tone of voice didn't sound overly feminine now that she heard it... Before she had time to respond though, or even think up a suitable response, the child charged. Or...didn't charge, there was something weird about the way the kid moved.
Whatever it was, Shiver could still follow his movements, including the punch headed her way. She moved to block it with a forearm...only it didn't come. Flabbergasted by the actual action, Shiver's inexperience showed itself for the first time during the match...as she froze up temporarily. The gaggle of roots wrapping around her tail, shocked her back into action however, rash panicked action. Letting out a shocked gasp, she tried to leap into the air, aura flaring up to try to pull herself free.
As she did so, she extended her hands and unleashed several flurries of weaker ki blasts. They were aimed at her foe first, weaker spheres of silver used more out of hastiness than anything. But after the initial flurry, she would change her target to the vines grabbing her tail to ensure her escape and try to continue powering upwards.

Well, that clearly didn't work out how Synthesia had intended. He shouldn't have been surprised that the lizard's first thought was to go up. Synthesia didn't really deal well with 'up.'
The silver blasts, while made out of haste, were still strong, much like the Arcosian herself. Synthesia slammed his foot on the ground, bringing up a wall of Earth that didn't exactly have enough sturdiness to handle them. They broke through, and one of them hit Synthesia square in the stomach. His form was sent back, but he managed to slow his backwards movement enough to get a firm footing on the ground.
The hit combined with the spheres was more than enough to collapse the child's hold on the girl, the vines falling straight down to the earth where they came. Synthesia needed to get her out of the air- that was priority number one. If she just launched attacks at him from there, he'd lose eventually. A hole in the ground opened up where Synthesia stood, and he was pulled in.
While underground, Synthesia couldn't really see where his opponent was. Nor could he really sense them properly. That wasn't gonna stop him, though- he just needed to get her to the ground. His face peeked up from the ground, locating his opponent. Moments later, the ground around him began to shift and change- change into tiny little spiked peaks.
Said spiked peaks were then launched upwards, little pellets made out of the Earth blotching out the sky.

The sudden wall of dirt was surprising, even more so when it actually held up. Well, mostly held up, her blasts had breached it eventually. It didn't matter though, her efforts had been sufficient to free her, and she could now take to the sky proper. Shiver did just that, propelling herself high into the air to look over the arena. She had expected the kid to follow, but when she looked back that was not the case. Instead she was just in time to watch that bright green bundle of hair vanish...underground, what.
Shiver stopped ascending and just hovered, glaring down at the now empty looking ring. Frowning, she reached out with her senses to try and ascertain the enemies location. Shiver soon realized that while she could sense her opponent, the new insulator between them was just enough to make her uncertain regarding the precise area. Ugh, with a few minutes she'd be able to narrow it down but she didn't quite have that time here. She'd have to earmark some time to work on this deficiency in the future. For now though, the boy would have to show his face eventually.
To be ready for that eventuality, Shiver raised a closed fist and pointed it at the ground. Within it, she charged one of her bright waves, silver ki building up around her hand. Shiver scanned the ground carefully for her target, ready to cut loose at a moments notice. The moment came just an instant later, her eyes catching a flash of green and...a shifting in the ground. She didn't waste a moment, shifting her aim and unleashing a bright silver beam right at the spot in question. As she did so....the ground actually rose up and shot at her! Her bright wave punched a hole right through the oncoming mass, but the other chunks of earth continued on to smack into her.
Ow, it was like that farmer and his shotgun...except this actually hurt, little bits of earth glancing painfully off her skin. A bit of it even got in her eyes, and she accidently descended a ways as she blinked it out and tried to check herself for scrapes at the same time. She didn't fully descend, she didn't lose that much focus, but she was no more than her own height away from the ground now.

Yikes! That blast was a little different than the other ones. Synthesia's stone pebbles didn't stand a chance, and as the blast closed in on his exposed face, he knew he needed to act fast. Propelling himself out of the ground, Synthesia flipped backwards, his feet riding the earth that he kicked up like a wave. The opposing blast smashed into the dirt and broke it, but not after the blast had been considerably weakened.
Synthesia was knocked back a bit, rolling and landing on his feet. He was scratched a little, but it was nothing to bat an eye at. In a more important turn of events, it looked like his strategy was at least a little effective. Seemed like training with his other Troopers was really paying off! Synthesia was convinced that he was a natural.
The plan, however, wasn't completed yet. There was a part 2! The dirt flung up into the air didn't just dispensary- it remained there, floating in the skies, just above the enemy. Synthesia raised his hand towards the floating rocks and crunched his hand into a fist- the rocks were compressed into a tight boulder.
Synthesia's hold on them was then released, and the mass of rubble fell right towards Shiver!

Shiver finally blinked the last of the dust from her eyes as she looked up. Wow she had dropped down a bit more than she'd expected, and where was the kid. She knew she'd hit him, watching the blast impact before getting her eyeful of rocks. Looking about, she found him standing upright a small distance away, mostly untouched save a few scratches. His little hand was also extended into the sky, compressed into a tight fist. Shiver frowned slightly, following the path of the hand with her eyes, gradually looking upwards. Her eyes widened at the mass of rubble, which was currently falling on top of her!
She saw it too late to dodge it, and there wasn't enough time to blast it away either. Really all she managed to do in time was raise her forearms overhead and brace. Shiver grunted as the boulder slammed into her arms, the impact driving her into the ground slightly as it partially broke apart. Ugh, that was going to leave a mark later for sure. She had avoided a more serious injury however, and the Arcosian was now bearing a large chunk of rock overhead. Shiver glanced up to look at Synthesia, scowled, and then tried to lob the partly reduced boulder at the child.
Shiver didn't wait to see the results of her attack, it hadn't exactly been her best throw. Instead she was instantly in motion, darting right at the green haired child to close the distance. As she did so, she fired another barrage of silver spheres from her palms at the diminutive figure. Like before, it wouldn't be very effective, but Shiver was just trying to occupy the kid for an instant at least. Long enough to get close and deal some real damage.

A loud whistle blew out across the stadium, certainly loud for anyone to hear even over the fighting an cheers of the crowd. It was the whistle that meant all fighting needed to stop immediately - the time limit had been reached! A cheerful looking Polbo walked out onto the arena grounds, dressed nicely and looking eager for more. But, she had to follow the rules she'd set for the tournament and make sure the fighting stopped at exactly the same time for every match. Although, she did notice a few things already she wouldn't mind tinkering with for future tournaments, rule wise. But changing the rules in the middle of an ongoing gauntlet? That was classless! She was above that!
When the Earthling reached the center of the stage, she began to speak into the microphone. "Perhaps a bit of a slower paced match than our past few," she commented with a glance over at the two fighters, "But still an exciting one to watch! And, much closer in the end than I assumed it would be! But a winner has still been decided, even if only barely." Polbo turned towards the Arcosian, Shiver, and held out and open palm to the immensely powerful being. "And that winner is Shiver! Let's all give a big hand for both of our fighters here, today!" The audience broke out into cheers, claps, and whistles, while Polbo meandered back over to the judge booth off the side of the stadium floor. That ended the little leagues' first round, but the big leagues still remained!
