When Chime's antennae wiggled a bit, Polbo wasn't sure what to expect, so when his voice rang out inside of her head, you could color her as easily surprised. "Whoa, that's... Interesting," she mumbled with a chuckle. She'd never actually been spoken to like that by a natural telepath before, so having someone else's voice speak inside of her head was both interesting an slightly uncomfortable. She liked knowing that her thoughts were safely inside her head, for no one else to listen to. Although, she wasn't sure if telepaths could read others' thoughts, or just project their own into other people's heads. Hopefully it was the latter. "Ah, I guess I should've figured you wouldn't have a cell phone," she replied, tapping her chin as she tried to think of other ways in which to contact the Namekian. And then he mentioned other telepaths.
"Oh, yeah," Polbo said with a brightened expression, as if a light bulb had just gone on over her head. She crossed her arms and smirked down at Chime, and after a moment, the pink haired lady's voice would speak within the slug boy's head. "I forgot, I invented this little device and implanted it into my head that lets me speak into other people's heads, basically the same as a telepath can! Pretty cool, right?" The smile on her face grew as she imagined Chime was no doubt surprised to find out about this. Polbo herself had actually kind of forgotten she could do that, too. It was pretty neat for her to mess around with when she'd first invented the chip, and she'd gotten more than a few laughs out of sending cryptic messages to random strangers on the street and watching them react, but after a while it kind of lost most practical use and she rarely ever found a need for it. But it sure came in handy right about now!
"So, yeah, I can just contact you that way, right?" she suggested with a shrug. "It shouldn't be too hard to reach you, I think. As long as you stay on Earth - the maximum range for it is just people on the same planet as me. Which, I mean, is still pretty good range, so I guess maybe you could go out into space a little bit, but I'd lose you after a while. So, yeah, just stay on Earth!" Polbo picked up her purse off the table and slung it over her shoulder, before walking over to the garbage and dumping her cup and burger bag inside to dispose of. "You can keep getting refills, if you're still thirsty, they're still on me. I'll message you," she tapped the side of her head to signify the telepathy, "When I have an update for you. Be seeing you!" The Earthling gave Chime one last smile, then walked out of the McBao's to get on with building that contraption.
Inventing something to track several tiny objects she had no way of finding out how to track nor any idea what kind of energy signature it was giving off sure sounded like it'd make for a fun challenge!

A smug smile came over Chime's face when he saw how surprised Polbo was at his telepathy. He knew messing with people like that wasn't becoming of a Guardian, but that didn't stop it being entertaining. That smirk only lasted for a second though, and soon the Namekian's expression was mirroring Polbo's own as he heard the girl's voice in his head. It wasn't just a response to his telepathy, he knew what that felt like. This was different. She claimed to have given herself the ability via some invention, and Chime's eyes went wide. If she could do something like that with technology, maybe she really could find the Dragon Balls. Still, he had to gape at how casual she was about it, "You forgot?" he replied, mentally, "How do you forget about putting something in your own head?"
His concerns over her forgetfulness aside, Chime sat back and nodded, "But that should work, yes. I've got no plans to leave Earth for...a while." His posture drooped a bit as he thought back to his home on Namek, and how long it would be until he'd be able to visit again. But Polbo brought his spirits right back up with the promise of more soda. The already sugar-high Namekian's eyes brightened, "Really? Wow, okay! Thanks, Polbo," He half stood out of his seat to wave at her as she made for the exit, "Let me know if there's any progress! Or if you have any trouble, maybe I could help somehow!"
Once she'd left the restaurant and was out of sight, Chime plopped back down in his seat. He looked out the window onto the streets of Satan City with a small smile on his face. That had been unexpected, but he thought it had turned out well. He'd even made a friend. At least, he thought they were friends. She bought him drinks! On Earth that meant you were friends, right? Chime thought for another moment and then decided, yes, that was exactly what it meant.
Wrapped this up after a hot minute. Thank you for the thead! <3
