Tarch PL: 80,000. Energy Setting: 40,000 Since learning how to fly Tarch soared nonstop around the world any chance he got. Granted that time wasn’t often with the amount of school work he had to catch up on. To make matters worse both sets of parents were pushing that he got his work done before anything. Unfortunately, a months worth of homework isn’t feasible for one child to do in a night so they would help him set daily goals for him to do before he could do something else. Naturally, this built up an immense amount of stress for the boy. So his grandfather suggested he go use his newfound method of transportation to go somewhere new, try and clear his head. Now here he was in a town somehow more agricultural than his hometown. The south was known for its tropics but his part was in the middle of nowhere. As such Tarch saw many farms, but also a few tourists traps closer to the city. Ginger Town was so backwater it made Paozu look like it was bustling. Luckily this suited him just fine as it gave him the perfect opportunity to just close his eyes and relax. As Tarch’s lids drifted shut he could hear the soft wisping of trees blowing in the wind, the sound of water flowing in a nearby stream. It was all serene, but there was one problem. Tarch’s eyes popped open as soon as he realized he couldn’t feel any of it. He gave the surrounding area a concerned look. With the town just beside him, the teen should have at least sensed the people. But there was nothing. Not a single spark of energy was registering. "Ok but why not?" he questioned aloud. He then spied a boy about his age walking back towards the town. Tarch squinted his eyes at him. He could sense his life energy, but nothing else. No emotions, no indications of any power. Come to think of it he couldn’t even feel his own mother’s power level. Tarch frantically ran over to small town, scrutinizing random people to try and get his senses straight. Nothing. “Why not?” he repeated frantically. It was as if he was internally blind folded, no real idea what was there but knowing there was something. The farmers, the shop owners, delivery workers, none of them appeared more than just small blobs of life. “Why can't I sense anything!” he shouted panicked. Many heads now turned to see why this random boy was screaming. This was not good. In matters of strength, Tarch had many people to call upon, but he only knew one other person who could sense things as well as he could and she was still missing. Chime Hope this is ok for an opener, been a while since I had a starter like this

Chime's PL: 40,000
Finally, finally, Chime had a day to himself. No catastrophe that required the Guardian's attention, and no one coming to the Lookout to talk to him. ...Well, maybe they were at the Lookout, but he'd left early in the day to make sure he'd miss them. It would be okay! He left a note on the door and everything. He flew at a slow, steady pace northward, over the Fukurou Forest. Chime felt like he knew those woods pretty well by now, but the lands just outside of it were still mostly new to him. Aside from a single trip to West City, he hadn't explored very much. Today, he didn't feel like the hustle and bustle of a big city, so he continued just north, to a smaller town that he'd seen on his last trip over here, but hadn't stopped to go and see.
As he soared over the quaint little town, Chime felt all the little pings of energy below him. Each one of them a life, going about their day unaware of the green alien flying high above them. It seemed like a nice calm day in Ginger Town, with nothing amiss. Of course, as soon as Chime had that thought, he noticed something off. A very powerful energy signature that dwarfed that of all the citizens, headed into the town from its edge. Whoever that energy belonged to was moving fast and frantic, and as Chime floated down closer, he could hear shouting down on the streets, though he couldn't make out the words. He was more than a little worried at this point and flew down to the ground as fast as he could. Was it more warriors from the World Trade Fleet? Or some random villain? Why would they be attacking a sleepy little town like this?
When he touched down on the street, Chime was surprised to find not a Arcosian warlord or a Heran bandit, but...a boy. A Saiyan boy, judging by the tail, but a boy all the same. He was running around shouting at random people, and looked upset about something, but didn't seem the least bit aggressive. Chime was confused, but this was a pleasant alternative to the fight he'd been expecting. He quickly jogged down the street to intercept him, "Hey! Hi there. Is something wrong?" he'd ask, and then cast a glance around at the nearby townsfolk, who were giving the pair of strangers worried looks, "I think you're spooking the people here a little."

A very unfortunate couple was now being stared down by the frantic teenager. Tarch could see the worry clear on their face, but as he scrutinized them he just couldn’t feel anything other than basic life force and even then it wasn’t anything sharp, just sort of a blurry mess. He was about to shout at them as if that would have solved anything only to be interrupted by a new person. Tarch jumped, having completely missed seeing or sensing this guy. He turned to see a Namekian, even shorter than himself staring at him concerned.
Naturally, Tarch’s first instinct was to try and sense him. Surely this would be easy right? Namekians have a naturally higher power level than the average human. Unfortunately, all he could gather from this guy was his power level was large, no estimate as to how large. Tarch groaned, his hands scratching through his mop of black hair. “Aghhh! I can’t…!” he stopped when the realization that this person might just get confused with talk of energy sensing and all that. “I’m just having trouble with something,” he explained, having calmed down ever so slihgtly. Now he just had to try and explain what that something was without sounding crazy about it. Luckily he could still tell the little teal alien had enough power to possibly know about the more strange things out there. “See, before today I could sort of, feel just about everything. Not like with my hands or touch. Like a sort of sixth sense that could see energy inside people you know?” Tarch closed his eyes as the memory of the feeling this ability gave him, the sense of wholeness and ease. “I could feel the energy in every living thing, even how someone was feeling if I knew them well enough or they were seriously feeling it.”
The teenager’s eyes snapped open, the look of annoyance back on his face. He raised his voice back to the frustrated shout. “But now! Everything is all blurry! It’s like my inner eye needs glasses! I can’t see how people feel, I can’t see power levels too small. Heck, I can barely even sense you and I HATE IT! It’s like I literally lost a sense!” Unfortunately, he was still yelling loud enough for passersby now stared at the hysterical boy now collapsed on his back in defeat. Tarch looked back at the Namekian from his laid down position apologetically. He was just being very rude, something he tried to avoid. “I’m Tarch by the way. Sorry about that little rant. You might not even know what I mean for all I know.” He finished that last sentence with a clearly sarcastic scoff.

Chime gave the couple an apologetic smile as the Saiyan shifted his attention away from them and onto him. They gave the little Namekian a worried look before continuing on their way through town. Chime, meanwhile, set his hands on his hips and tilted his head to the side as he listened to the boy explain his problem. It took him a while to get to his point, and it left Chime feeling kind of confused following along, but then it clicked in his mind. The young Namekian couldn't help but laugh as he realized what the boy was talking about. What a roundabout way to explain energy sensing!
The teen wasn't as amused as Chime was, though, and went into another round of hysterics, and even threw himself on the ground to punctuate his little tantrum. How old was this kid supposed to be? Chime gave the gawking townspeople a wave to reassure them he was handling it, and then went to stand at Tarch's side. After the boy introduced himself, he leaned down and offered his hand, half as a handshake, and half to help him up, "Well, hi Tarch. My name's Chime. And I do know what you mean, don't worry, but I don't think laying in the street will help. C'mon." Assuming Tarch took his hand, he'd help pull the boy to his feet, then gesture for him to follow. He'd walk down the streets of Gingertown trying to find a quieter spot without people staring at the odd pair of yelling Saiyan boy and robed Namekian, and as they walked, he'd continue to speak, "So, anyway. I do know what you're talking about. I can sense things, myself. You're pretty strong! But...how much training have you had?"
Chime still found it hard to guess the ages of non-Namekians just by looking at them, but judging from his appearance and how he was acting, he couldn't be an adult. He was just younger than Chime himself, at the oldest, "If you're having a problem sensing energy, it's probably because you're out of balance. Y'know, mentally, spiritually. You've got some inner turmoil. Running around yelling at people isn't going to fix that, you need to sit down quietly and figure it out," He'd hold his hands up at that, "I'm not asking you to tell me what your problem is, you just met me, so it's not really my business. But you can if you want to."
Feel free to say Chime leads him wherever, idk where he's going besides 'somewhere quiet'.

Well if Namek taught Tarch anything is that Namekians were good people, and back home it was no different. Bonus points, this guy already knew exactly what energy sensing was, though now Tarch was a little embarrassed that he wasted that entire time explaining it. He grabbed hold of Chime’s hand originally just aiming for the polite handshake but found himself being pulled up despite himself. “Nice to meet you Chime,” he said in a half yelp with the unexpected jolt upwards. Luckily despite Chime’s gesture, he wasn’t pulling the boy along, leaving Tarch to make his own decision as per whether or not he should follow him. The young saiyan gave the couple another look, still nothing. Guessing he had nothing to lose Tarch followed the teal namekian out of the scene he just caused.
As they walked Chime asked the teen just how much training he’d had, saying he looked very strong. Tarch finally cracked a small smile, thinking back to all the people who helped him get that far. “Well, for fighting I learned a lot from the Saiyan Kingdom, especially from Mr. Vocado. One of them, Ms. Nashua even taught me how to fly properly! Really I just kind of learn from everyone I meet. Not for sensing energy though. That I can’t really explain how I learned it. I think I picked it up when I was really little just sort of naturally. Since then whenever I’d get mad my teachers or my parents would have me sit down and take deep breathes with my eyes closed. Next thing I knew I could feel them there even with my eyes closed once I calmed down.” Tarch was so absorbed into his little explanation he didn’t even realize that Chime had already brought him to a nice quiet place. It was still part of the town, but a much more sleepy part, not many people walking around.
Fittingly enough after his own little tangent, Chime explained what it was that usually hindered people from sensing energy. Tarch nodded, taking a deep understanding sigh. “Inner turmoil? So, in other words, something is bothering me not just on the outside but inside too right?” Again the half saiyan felt a sting on embarrassment when the namekian noted that yelling was not exactly a viable solution to all this. “I know… I’m sorry.” he apologized with a slight whine. He looked at Chime as he mentioned he didn’t have to tell him what was wrong. Tach shrugged. “Well, I don’t think it’ll be much help if I don’t say anything about it. But it’s kind of… Well I still get really antsy about it I guess so I’ll give a general version.” The teen hovered a bit in the air with his tail pointed to the ground, looking as if it was holding him up. “So. I recently went to Namek. Originally I was chasing after Mr. Vocado, the king of the saiyans. Well former king I guess. And, well… I learned about war in school, but they never told us just how… how… horrible it is. I knew people died but I saw people I liked, people I looked up to kill people. It was just.” Tarch wiped a sleeved arm across his face as his eyes began to tear up. “So many good things happened on namek, but then even more bad things just followed them. The person I admired became someone I almost hate. Someone I thought I’d hate became someone I respect even though she can be really scary. Everything seemed backwards and wrong.” Tarch was now fully crying, small sniffled and labored breaths trailing his words. He dried his tears once more. He cleared his throat and gave Chime an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to start crying on you. I guess I should have listen when they said I was too young right?” he laughed at a lame attempt to lighten the mood. Needless to say at least for himself, it didn’t work.

Tarch went on about his training and his teachers with enthusiasm, and Chime couldn't help but smile as they walked along. The teen's earnest spirit was infectious. He seemed pretty talented. He was talking as if all of this came easy to him, but he wasn't bragging or boasting, which led Chime to believe it was the truth and not an exaggeration. Energy sensing had come easily to Chime as well, it was the first technique he'd ever learned, but it had still taken him years to get to where Tarch seemed to be now. It was impressive, but then again, Saiyans were supposed to be strong by nature.
They stopped on a corner in a sleepy part of town, just a few houses and a single shop, which was closed, so the two were left more or less by themselves. That was good, Chime thought. They'd need quiet if Tarch was going to center himself again. The boy agreed to tell him what was on his mind, and Chime was expecting troubles in school, or with his family, or with...Kingdom boot-camp. He wasn't sure how Saiyan society worked, exactly, except that they fought a lot. What he wasn't expecting was talk of his home planet, and war. Chime's blood ran cold, and the world seemed to slow down as his mind kicked into overdrive. Why had the Saiyans been on Namek? There hadn't really been a war, right? Tarch was just exaggerating, it was probably just one fight. But...no, the boy hadn't been overstating things so far. There must have actually been a war. Chime was instantly consumed with worry for his home, his friends, his family. Had anyone he knew been hurt? Or worse?
He was wrenched from his thoughts by Tarch's sniffles and realized the boy was full-on crying in front of him as he got lost in his own head. He set his hands (which he realized dimly, were shaking) on Tarch's shoulders, and looked the young Saiyan in the face, "H-hey," his voice was shaky, too, but he pressed on, "It's okay. ...I mean, it's obviously not okay, that all sounds horrible to have gone through, but I meant you don't need to apologize. I've heard the whole 'you're too young' line a lot, myself, but..." His gaze slipped away from Tarch's face and grew distant for a moment, "I guess sometimes they're right."
Chime shook his head quickly and faced Tarch again, hands still on his shoulders. He forced a smile, "Uh, anyway. It sounds like you've been through a lot, you probably just need time. Trying to force your abilities to come back won't help, you need to let yourself heal naturally. But, um, also..." he bit the inside of his cheek for a second as he debated whether asking this was wise, but he couldn't seem to stop himself, "What happened on Namek, exactly? You said the Saiyans were there? And there was a war? I've been gone for months, I haven't heard from anyone--" panic crept into his voice again, and the young Kami forced himself to calm down, "...You don't have to tell me all the details, I know that must be hard. But if you know who else I could talk to, please. I need to know."

It was all still so clear in his mind. Tarch had barely had the chance to just be home and already it felt like he took Namek back to Earth with him. Now here he was crying to a resident of said planet about how hellish his trip there was. It wasn’t until the teen felt a pair or slihgtly quivering hands lock softly onto his shoulders did he snap out of his depression. Chime assured the saiyan that he wasn’t the only one to ever be told he was too young for something. It also helped hearing he wasn’t the only one to have that come back to bite him whenever someone tried to prove them wrong.
Again Tarch wiped away his tears, thinking this stranger might be on to something. Maybe the Namekian could help out after all. Still, he felt a pang o worry stabbing at the back of his mind when he heard he should just let his power heal naturally. “So I just have to wait? I mean there’s got to be something I can do to help right? I don’t really remember how I did this when I was five. Though I was much worse at it then really. I guess I just don't remember how I made it better over the years.” Though before the hybrid could get an answer, Chime would ask his own question about his home planet.
Tarch couldn’t help but feel guilty, he didn’t even think about how a Namekian would react to hearing about a war on Namek. Thinking this would be a good test, he tried once again to sense his feelings. Nothing, just an ambiguous blob of energy, he couldn’t even tell exactly how strong he was. Still it didn’t take an empath to understand that somebody would be scared for their home. It would be like if Tarch heard his house was on fire while he was away. “I’m sorry, I didn't realize... I never thought about what it would be like if I couldn't talk to anyone on Earth while I was away. I remember when I heard about Satan or Badman whatever City it is now. You miss a lot when you’re gone I guess. Like everything just has to happen when you’re away.”
“Well yeah. The Saiyan Kingdom were there.” The teal skinned namek gave Tarch an out, a chance to let him speak to someone else so he didn’t have to. There was just one problem. “I don’t really wanna think about it. But anyone else I know that could are all on Planet Vegeta.” He took a deep breath. “They were there trying to fight off Those World Trade Fleet people. Trying to get to the Dragon Balls before they did. They’re uh little wish granting orbs.” Tarch’s face went a little red realizing he was needlessly explaining things again. “But you probably already knew that. Most Namekians I met know about them. I was just there because my teacher abandoned me here after saying he’d let me come with him. I think most of the Namekians managed to stay safe though, plus we managed to beat the fleet back. PLus we revived people who died in Stan City. So that’s good… right?” The question was directed more to himself than anyone else. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed like there was no good or even bad guy to all this. Just felt like one big mess.

Chime nodded along as Tarch explained, with a distant look on his face. His mind was working overtime as he considered the implications and of what he was being told. The Saiyan Kingdom and the World Trade Fleet had gone to Namek, for the Dragon Balls, and they'd had a war. His mouth twitched into a smirk when Tarch began to tell him about them, "I know what Dragon Balls are, don't worry. I have...some personal experience with them." He left the boy with that enigmatic statement for now, and let him continue to tell him the story.
Tarch claimed most of the Namekians were safe, but Chime's own worry didn't let him quite believe that. The young Saiyan may have just been trying to make him feel better. Chime wouldn't be satisfied until he heard from home directly, really. The Saiyans apparently won, which he supposed was good. He didn't know much about the Saiyans, but an entire Kingdom of warrior ape-people made him a little wary. Still, they had a better standing in his mind than the Trade Fleet. Then Tarch told him exactly what the Saiyans did with their victory and Chime's eyes nearly bugged out of his head. The poor boy had just gotten let go, and now he was being grabbed again, with two green hands in a death-grip on either of his arms.
"They wished for what?!" Chime sputtered, "The dead from Satan City? They're back?! But that's what I've been trying to do!!" he was so shocked that he didn't even realize the information he just let go, and kept prattling on, "If they're alive, where are they now? Wait, no, you wouldn't know that. How could you know?" He let Tarch go and started pacing back and forth in front of him, muttering in Namekian for a moment before looking up again, "What else did they wish for? Porunga gives you three wishes, what were the other two?" Thoughts of comforting the young teen before him were gone now, swept away in his shock, and the Kami was simply looking for answers.

Luckily this Namekian did indeed know of the dragon balls, saving himself from going into a long unneeded explanation. So the hybrid was able to recall the wishes unabated. Of course, as soon as he mentioned the first wish he was shut up with a very unexpected response. Tarch let out a small yelp as Chime grabbed hold of him, this time squeezing the life out of his arms. Chime seemed hysterical, asking Tarch for more information about what they wished for. “The dead in-” He was cut off though, apparently the namekian did hear him the first time. Though now the hybrid had another question. Why was this seemingly random person going to revive the dead people from Satan City? “Wait. Why are-” Tarch found himself slowly shrinking into himself as he was cut off yet again. This time Chime wanted to know where the newly revived were, though, he then realized that the now fearful saiyan would have no way one knowing that. Finally, after some pacing and nonsensical mumbling, Chime would ask Tarch about the other wishes.
The boy himself was still uneasy, feeling as though he messed up somehow, or that this person’s little freakout was somehow his fault. “Uh, w-well yeah. He did give three wishes.” Tarch was scared of the reaction he’d get from telling Chime the second wish, hoping the third would be better. “S-so for the second wish. The four biggest members of the Saiyan Kingdom wished for power. So the dragon gave them an equal boost. The third wish though was good!” Tarch would quickly shout hoping to prevent another vice grip on his arms. “For the third wish, they wished to bring back the people of another planet. A planet called Konats that was attacked I think.”
It was only after he finished his explanation that Tarch realized something. He didn’t know who Porunga was. Was that his name? Did all Namekians know the name of the dragon? However, above all this, one question burned in Tarch’s mind. “Why were you going to revive the people who died in Satan City? I mean I would have too but, I’m just a random kid. Who are you?” The teen was starting to sound just as wired as the person who was supposed to be helping him. His nervousness though was just out of fear of the man and how everything he said just seemed to get him more and more on edge. Still, he felt guilty for joining in the frantic yelling, his gaze quickly falling like a leaf to the ground. "I'm sorry Mr. Chime. I didn't mean to yell. You just scared me is all."

As Tarch explained the wishes, Chime took a few deep breathes and forced himself to calm down. After another moment or two, it hit him just how much of a mess he must have looked. Judging from how the young Saiyan was quickly shouting out his answers, he was making him uncomfortable too. Chime sighed. That wouldn't do. He was supposed to be Guardian of Earth, not Frightener of Earthlings. He set a hand to his chin as he thought aloud, and forced himself to take a quieter tone,
"So they made their strongest even stronger...that's a little concerning, but not surprising. And splitting it amongst themselves was actually pretty smart. But Konats...I don't know anything about Konats. Maybe that's an ally of theirs...?" He was musing more to himself than actually asking Tarch, as he didn't expect him to know either. And the boy had questions of his own. Chime blinked as they were shouted in his face, but he didn't look offended, just a little startled. With another sigh, he sat down on the curb, and patted the space next to him for Tarch to join him, if he wanted.
"It's okay. I shouldn't have freaked you out like that, I'm sorry. I just...well, you scared me, too," He gave a little half-hearted laugh and reached for the orange beads hanging from his belt as he continued, "And it's a valid question. I'm...well, I'm a protector of this planet, that's the simplest way to put it. I'm not from here, obviously, but I really like this world. When I came here and saw it was in danger, I couldn't just sit here and do nothing, or go home. And then a Shinjin tasked me with--oh," He paused, realizing Tarch might not know what that was, "A Shinjin is basically a lesser deity. One of them came down and tasked me with reviving the heroes that fell in Satan City. But it looks like you guys beat me to it." While it wasn't the entire truth, it wasn't a lie, either.
Chime looked up at the sky as he explained all this, and when he was done, he met Tarch's gaze with an apologetic smile, "Again, sorry I scared you. You basically just told me there was a war on my homeworld, and that someone else completed my grand quest for me. It's, uh. A lot to take in."

The young half saiyan still shied away from the minorly hysteric Namekian. Tarch kept his arms close to his sides, sliding his hands into his pockets and tucking his chin slightly. The teen completely closed himself, obviously looking wary, though not because he thought Chime bore him any malice, more so that Tarch himself messed up somehow. Still, he was willing to answer his questions. Chime asked about Konats, wondering if it was an ally of the kingdom. Tarch shook his head, “I don’t think so. See, a Konatsian named Typha helped find the dragon balls so I guess the saiyan kingdom let him make his own wish.”
Tarch did loosen up slightly when Chime offered his own apology, though still kept his hands pocketed, his gaze lifting up slightly. He then went on to explain who he was, calling himself the protector of the earth. He nodded along with the explanation of how a shinjin gave him the job of cleaning satan city. “Huh, so that’s what those guys are. I meant a couple of them before, but I wasn’t sure exactly what they were.” That was one question out of the way, but Tarch was still a little unsure of what being the protector of earth meant. “The Planet’s Protector? So kind of like a superhero? Or those Pride Tropers I heard about in Satan City?”
Before he got his answer, Chime would offer one more apology, which didn’t fully calm Tarch down, but it at least served to put things in a much different perspective. Tarch shook his head, smiling lightly. “I don’t really understand what war is, I mean I thought I did but I kinda learned the hard way that is is so much more different than I could have expected. But I think I get what you mean. It’d be like if someone told me someone set my house on fire while I was away.” Finally, the hybrid withdrew his hand from his pockets, giving the protector an honest smile. “So I’m sorry too.” Tarch went back to his tail sitting, looking at Chime expectantly hoping he would answer his previous question.

Typha...not a name he was familiar with, but he wasn't expecting to be, since he'd only learned of his entire planet a moment ago. He nodded and tucked the information away in his mind for later. He didn't expect to meet this Typha anytime soon, but who really knew? Stranger things had happened in the past month of Chime's life alone.
"You've met a Shinjin?" He replied to Tarch, with some surprise, "You really do get around, huh? And you're from Earth, right? Not Vegeta or...whatever else Saiyans come from." The boy hadn't said as much, but Chime just assumed, from the way he'd been acting. Why would he have come back to Earth from Namek otherwise? He asked of 'Planet's Protector' was some sort of superhero, and Chime couldn't help but laugh a bit at that, "Hah! No, not quite a superhero, I'm not that cool. And not a Pride Trooper either, but I am friends with a couple of them!" He puffed up his chest with pride. He'd never thought about it until right now, but being friends with the closest real-life equivalent to superheroes was pretty neat.
"But me, I'm..." Chime began to explain, then trailed off. He'd been rather vague so far, intentionally so. His first instinct was to be secretive about his position as Guardian of Earth, and all that implied. But with everything that had happened lately, with the World Trade Fleet on planet Earth somewhere, right now, at the same moment he was sitting on a curb talking, was that really wise anymore? Could he effectively protect the world if barely anyone knew he was there to protect it? The more people who knew he was, the more potential allies he had for the battle he was sure was to come. But that also meant more people to turn on him or use them for their own gain, hench his secrecy. Tarch, though...he had fought alongside the Saiyan Kingdom, yes, and Chime didn't fully trust them, but the kid himself seemed goodhearted. Chime decided to take the chance.
"...I'm what they call the Guardian of Earth," He'd continue after his long, contemplative pause, "The 'Kami', but I'm not really a god or anything. I don't feel like a god. Something definitely changed since I took up the role, but I'm still just me. It's more of a magical, spiritual thing than people like the Pride Troopers. As far as I can tell, Earth has always had a Guardian for hundreds of years, maybe even thousands. N-not to say I'm that old, haha!" He waved his hands in the air quickly, "I'm just the newest one, there's been a bunch! I, uh..."
Chime trailed off and looked into the distance, "I'm not sure I'm doing it right, honestly. You didn't have a Guardian when I got here, so it's not like the previous one trained me. I'm just kinda figuring it out as I go. Oh, but, um!" He realized that didn't sound very confidence-inspiring, "I'm trying my best! And nothing too bad's happened yet, so I must be doing something right!"

Tarch chuckled, blushing slightly. He never really thought about it but he really did have a knack for getting himself places, particularly trouble. The teen scratched at the back of his head, still smiling. “Yeah, my parents always said I was an adventurous kid, even as a baby. Always climbing on things, or wandering off from the house. And yep that house is here on earth. Well not here here, I mean on the planet.” Once again Tarch was feeling more open with the Namekian, especially since it seemed he was going to reveal who he was to a stranger, albeit one who has already revealed plenty about himself.
Tarch’s eyes went wide as Chime introduced himself as the kami of earth. The young hybrid heard the word kami thrown around, mostly as a synonym for god, like when people said ‘oh my kami.’ Honestly he never really thought it was an actual physical title, more like a sort of intangible being. Of course, Tarch wasn’t entirely sure if this were true. “So you are… god.” he stated blankly. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe Chime, just didn’t know how that could have worked. "Sh-should I bow?"
However, it seemed even gods became self conscious, as Chime wondered if he were really doing the right thing as the guardian of earth. Tarch stared over at the group of bustling townspeople not far from where they stood. “Well, since you became Guardian it looks like things have gotten better. When I was a little kid I always wanted to see Satan City, but when it became Badman I was banned from even going near it. Now with you here it’s already back to normal. I wouldn’t call the two shin-whatevers I met perfect and they are gods right? I think as long as you do your best everything will work out somehow. At least that’s how I would see it.” The half saiyan stared up at the Kami with an honest smile, trying to assure him he was at least doing something right. Though this did spark a question in Tarch’s mind. “So… if you’re god, er well kind of god I guess, can you sense the entire world?” It seemed like a good way to bring the conversation full circle.

Tarch asked if he was supposed to bow, and Chime's cheeks immediately flushed a bit purple as he waved his hands in front of him, "Oh no, please don't! I'm not divine, really, it's just a title. Don't worry about it, really." The little Namekian ducked his head and avoided Tarch's gaze for a moment. He still wasn't used to being someone important, even though taking up the role was his choice, and felt kind of awkward under attention like that.
"I don't know that I can take credit for Satan City. After all, it was your Saiyans apparently wished everyone back to life, like you said. And the curse...a friend of mine and the rest of the Pride Troopers took care of that, it wasn't me. I had nothing to do with it," He looked over to Tarch and shrugged, a little apologetically, "I helped rebuild afterward, sure, but lots of people did that. I just went done and made bricks, and you don't need to be a god to do that."
Chime returned the smile with a kind, genuine one of his own, "Thank you, though. I'm going to try my best. That's all I can do, right?" he told the young Saiyan, and he meant it. This Tarch seemed like a good kid. Chime was still upset to have heard about how the Saiyan Kingdom and the Fleet apparently had a war on Namek, but it wasn't Tarch's fault that happened. He seemed to be a genuinely nice and gentle guy, despite belonging to a warrior race.
He asked if Chime could sense the whole world, what with him being 'god' and all, and that made him pause. Chime looked up into the sky and was silent for a long moment, then closed his eyes as he extended his senses outward. His antennae wiggled a little as he spoke, "...Sort of. I can sense you next to me, and I can sense everyone in this town. And I can sense all the little plants an animals, too, but they tend to be sort of like background noise, I have to really focus to see them clearly. But the reverse of that..." He took a deep breath and exhaled, and his hand went to his necklace to worry at the orange beads, his habit when he was meditating, "If I stop trying to focus on individual energies, I can sense much farther out, and see how everything sort of weaves together...I did this back on Namek, too, but Earth is so different. It's more...colorful, that's the best way I could describe it. More varied. But everything is still connected, just like it was back home."
Chime blinked his eyes open to look over at Tarch again, "I'm not sure if it's the whole world, it's hard to tell, but it feels pretty close. ...I hope that helped, somewhat?"

Tarch watched the guardian as he focused his senses. He described how he could feel the hybrid next to him, the people in the town, even the plants and the animals. The teen was just in absolute awe. He could sense animals pretty well, and he got a bit of a fuzzy energy from trees and other plants. But sensing them was both easy and difficult. Funnily enough, that seemed to perfectly describe how Chime went about sensing things. You could either focus in on a single detail or expand to see everything one big whole. That was probably what threw Tarch off the most. He never thought about trying to sense the world as its own entity, more like a sea of many things.
“So…” Tarch thought about Chime’s description of seeing it as more colorful. “It’s like a rainbow. You can look at the colors alone or the entire thing as being one big thing instead of six little things.” That was a lot of things he said. Still, it was how he perceived it in his still maturing brain. Deciding to give it a try, Tarch closed his eyes and tried once again to sense the town. He could feel Chime, actually getting a nice idea of his power after drowning out the other blob of energy from everyone else. “Woah… you’re about as strong as I am. Cool!” The half saiyan kept going, expanding his own senses. Again he managed to pick up the town and its people, but they were still just an amorphous blob a power, whereas Tarch wanted to sense each individual person.
To make matters worse, as he began to grow frustrated once again, Tarch couldn’t help but let his mind wander back to Namek. He could see Cress standing over the two dead bodies, Kayen slashing him with her cleaver, and Vocado staring coldly down at him. The teen began to tremble, his aura flaring up as if ready to defend himself. He had to stop, and this time he knew it. His eyes shot open with a start, the thoughts slowly dissipating from his mind. “S-sorry Mr. Chime,” he panted shakily. Tarch fell back onto his rear, catching his breath. “I’m not sure I completely get it. I mean yeah I get the rainbow thing, but I’m not sure how to use that… And any time I get close I just start thinking about Namek again.”
