Hale just gave a heavy shrug at Chime's response, laughing a bit at the look on his face. His face turned to one of a near blank stare as Chime started to explain the different clans of Namekians and it made sense while managing to still go over his head. "I guess that's a thing. Arcosians don't really have that. Well we don't have magic for starters that I'm aware of aside from the rare case of telekinesis essentially. Don't ask me to describe it at all because I don't really get it, but I've heard about it. Everyone for the most part is a warrior or a soldier of some sort for the most part, even those that aren't at least have basic knowledge of how to fight. There are doctors but no healers in the way you do it, and even they still fight and are considered warriors. The only ones who don't fight as much are the ones that have been fighting for so long they have positions of power and get to tell other people to fight. So pretty straight forward really."
He squinted, then leaned forward as if inspecting Chime, rubbing his chin in a stereotypical thinking pose, then started nodding. "Well I could promote you. You are now so promoted. Congratulations!", giving an over exaggerated salute. He gave a large smile and pulled his arm from Chime's shoulders, giving him a brow raising stare. "Oh so you know something about towers huh? Well then you will surely have to come see when I am finished. I'll make sure to stand at the time and flex, giving a loud scream just like I did when you found me today so you know it is finished. How's that sound?"

He could tell Hale was confused, but Chime hadn't thought the whole 'Namekian Clans' thing was that complicated. Maybe it just seemed simple to him because he was used to it? It didn't really matter either way, it was more fun trivia than anything else. Hale told him that Arcosians were much different, basically, everyone was a warrior or someone so high-ranked they were in charge of the warriors. It made Chime sort of sad. He couldn't imagine himself living in a society like that. He couldn't even throw a real punch!
Hale leaned over him and declared him 'promoted' after a moment of consideration, and Chime couldn't help but laugh, "You can't promote me! You're even lower down than I am, you're not even from my temple! Although..." Chime set a hand to his chin, almost a mirror of Hale's pose from a second ago, and began muttering to himself, "I guess I did sort of promote myself already, with the whole...uh..." He realized he was talking to himself, something he did tend to do from time to time, and cleared his throat with a cough, then smiled up at Hale again. Hopefully, the arcosian hadn't really caught on to what he was saying. He still wasn't entirely comfortable going around saying, 'Yes, hello, I'm the Guardian of Earth' to everyone.
He nodded up at Hale, still with that smile on his face, "Okay! You should be easy to find! You're certainly loud enough. How long do you think this tower thing is going to take? I can come back and check in around then."

Hale just stared down at Chime and gave him a pat on the head, "Not only can I but I just did. You are now guardian of my desert. Desert Guardian Chime. And who's gonna argue with me?" Crossing his arms and nodding heavily as he watched Chime lost in his own thought. "What was that just then?" leaning down to come face to face with the shorter Namekian. "You said you promoted yourself, then you just kind of trailed off. What was that?" Just blinking and staring him in the face waiting for a response. Slowly he stood back up straight, arms still crossed and narrowing his eyes for a moment.
It didn't take long for him to become distracted thinking about his tower once more and walked away a few feet, then seemed to walk around a bit aimlessly almost as if he were looking for something. "Might take me a few weeks, maybe a month to finish." Turning back towards Chime. "I might not be skilled in healing people, using ki, or any of them fancy magic, but I happen to be very skilled with using my hands to build things just as well as I can break things. Despite being taught to fight, everyone learns a skill on Arcose for the most part. Even he most skilled warrior might be a master chef, or a doctor, or a carpenter and so on. Wouldn't do much good to just have a lot of people marching around waiting for a fight on a bare planet with no buildings or food."

"Uh..." Chime blinked at Hale owlishly as the arcosian leaned down to stare him in the face and question him. Chime faltered, completely taken aback, and scooted backwards a couple of steps as he laughed nervously. He'd been hoping Hale hadn't caught any of that, "Ahahaha, well, I just meant...I've taken on a lot of responsibility since I came to Earth, y'know? Way more than I'd have if I'd stayed home," He kept backing up and glanced off to the side, waving his hand in the air vaguely, "That's all. So, yeah! I'll be Desert Guardian, sure! Guardian of the Desert! Evil-doers quiver before me! Or...something like that." He realized he was doing the rambling thing he tended to do when he was nervous, and promptly snapped his mouth shut.
Chime's took a couple of skipping steps as he continued to walk backwards, and with a puff of sand underneath him, he took flight and hovered a few feet above the ground, "So...anyway. A month? That's not long at all. I bet it'll fly by like that," He snapped his fingers, "Speaking of flying by...I should let you get to work if you're going to complete this all in just a month. It was nice meeting you, Hale! I'll be sure to come back!"
He floated there, still with his umbrella over one shoulder, looking very Mary Poppins (not that he knew what that even was), smiled down at his new arcosian friend, then would fly up into the air and out of sight, unless stopped.

It was pretty obvious to a blind and deaf table that Chime was hiding something, and the way he nervously explained himself and near flailed his arms for a moment that he was a bad liar as well. Hale in his infinite wisdom and sharp eye for reading people couldn't have missed it more if he were intentionally trying. He at least noticed the fact Chime had backed up from him, though oblivious at to why, just turned and stared, though shrugged it off. "Good, glad you agree to your new position. Hopefully you can handle a job of such importance as being a guardian." The way Hale just stared made it hard to tell if he was serious as he nodded and crossed his arms yet again. "Lots of responsibility." Turning and walking around himself for no other reason than he didn't want to be awkwardly standing and staring while Chime was walking around and just felt it was the thing to do, so he started to pace back and forth.
Hale stopped in mid step however as Chime began to hover, "Right, about that long, maybe less if I get some help And no, that isn't long. I really do have a gift for building. Only rivaled by my gift for flexing", turning to the side and giving a big flex of his right arm. "Well once I start I'm not gonna stop, but I'm not in a rush or anything. Though if you want to head out, that's totally fine too. I know yo haven't been much of a fan of this heat. I do expect to see you back soon though. ", pointing at Chime with a heavy nod. "The desert guardian can't go ignoring the place after all." He gave a wide wave and smiled. "Be safe and feel free to find me if you ever need help with anything!" Giving a wide armed stretch as Chime began to leave, heading off in the opposite direction on foot in no particular direction.
