Fateburn cleaved through the machine just barely missing Vocado himself, while her aim HAD been just to take down the machine it was hard NOT to let herself drift just a little bit and get just a little too close to Vocado. So tempting was it to just cut him down here and save herself a lot of headaches and frustration. But she had the future to think of and beating Vocado where people could see it happening was infinitely more important to her.
“Don't mention it” Kayen said snarling at the skittering creatures as they made a hasty retreat half tempted to pursue but with how deep they had dropped down it was foolish to let the machines dictate where they fought, if they had any sort of intelligence directing them it could easily be a trap, and even if not it was at minimum likely to lead them to exactly where they DIDNT want to be down here.
“I want people to see me put you down. The last thing I want is a question of if I was really the better warrior.” It was the simple truth and spoken with complete honesty on Kayen’s part, now that things were safe the pair were inspecting the room, Kayen found a large computer system and made some attempts to get it working but she was far from a computer technician, especially for two thousand year old tech.
“Some kind of what?” Kayen said turning from the computer to see Vocado inspecting a vial of… something that appeared to move on it’s own, something about that vial made Kayen feel wary, tense, as if it were an enemy that needed stabbing. “I really only know the basics myself. They were advanced, especially for their time, not physically powerful but had tech that let them stand against early Saiyans, and were wiped out in a single night under the full moon.” She felt pretty certain that was more or less the same stuff Vocado knew even if he had paid it little mind.
It was more or less the Saiyan’s first true conquest so at bare minimum it held enough interest from Kayen to-
Kayens thoughts were interrupted as the.. Thing… reacted wildly bursting free and making an escape attempt, to which the genius Vocado tried to GRAB the mostly liquid creature. “Did you really just try to grab that thing?” Kayen questioned though she didn’t bother waiting for a response “They could have taken off for somewhere with more of them, unless they have someone guiding them that should either be where they are made or close enough” Kayen reasoned, agreeing with Vocado without actually having to say she was doing so.
