The war on Vegeta had been a rather easy fight, all things considered. The Fleet had turned tail and fled almost at the first sign of danger, and virtually none of their defenders could hold a candle to the Kingdom's top warriors. In fact, with blutz generators in use, they weren't even able to deal with their rank-and-file in any satisfactory way either. While some of the warriors seemed almost let down by the lack of a fight, Ramen was able to take some heart in the fact that their preparations, as long as they had been, had ultimately been well-handled. The Trade Fleet had lost the fight more than the Kingdom had won it, but at least some of their success had to be attributed to the months of hard training on Namek and the extensive planning that had gone in to the initial landing.
But the easy victory didn't mean the clean-up was any easier. Even with all of her own trainees working around the clock to try to clean rubble from the streets and piece together infrastructure that had been either destroyed in this battle, usually by rampaging oozaru, or by the Trade Fleet months and months ago -- and merely left to deteriorate along with the rest of the planet. Some parts of the Cacumber Capital had been prettied up for sale, while others were left behind to rot. Whether the Fleet intended to touch up those areas or not, the duty now fell on the Kingdom.
And the hardest thing now was to find a water source that actually worked. They had drinking water aplenty in capsules, but what Ramen had wanted more than anything since the battle ended was a shower. That search ultimately led her to be nearly fifteen minutes late to an intended meeting. While she had promised she would show up to take a tour around Nashua's home, or what was left of it depending on her luck, she first had to comb through the capital for working shower-heads. It was probably a very Earthling thing to do, given the hygiene of some of the warriors she had met. But eventually, she managed to steal a bath from an old bar whose owners had long since abandoned it.
By the time she arrived at her and Nashua's meeting spot, she was out of breath and her her hair was still visibly damp, worn loose around her shoulders. But while she might have been a little irresponsible in showing up late, at least she showed up clean.
"Hey, um. Sorry about the wait!" she called. "I didn't want to show up covered in blood."

The battle for Vegeta was easily won, no doubt in thanks to the months and months of preparation that had been leading up to it. Without her tail, Nashua hadn't actually been able to contribute quite as much to the direct combat, but she'd led the charge to a successful victory, and the Fleet presence on Vegeta had been significantly dwindled down. It was safe to say the Saiyan Kingdom had won. Cleanup operations were first priority, to start with. The capital city of Cacumber was quite thoroughly wrecked, both from the lingering damages of the initial invasion by the Fleet, and the battle that had just taken place to reclaim it. Nashua had done her part to help with cleaning and restoring things best she could for a while, but she took a break at the first opportunity she could to go and meet up with Ramen.
The Saiyan waited on a somewhat familiar street corner patiently, and while Ramen was running a little late, she understood that the human was probably knee deep in work as well. She was probably just stuck catching up on things. And, sure enough, after about fifteen minutes of waiting, Nashua turned her head to see a slightly damp redhead running up to her. "Hey, Ramen!" she cheerfully exclaimed, electing not to comment on the dripping locks that had matted themselves to the human's shoulders. "Not to worry, though I'm sure I wouldn't even notice the difference if you got it in your hair, with how red it already is!" Nashua added, before turning around and gesturing for Ramen to follow her. "So, how do you like Vegeta? I know it's kind of all worn down and destroyed right now, but once we finish fixing everything, it's gonna look great! And my house is just up ahead, that was what I really wanted to show you around!"
She hadn't yet checked to see if her house was still standing, actually - she'd been too busy making sure the rest of the cleanup process had been going alright. The Saiyan had her fingers crossed as the pair finally rounded the corner that would've had her house in full view - and there it was! With the entire left wall collapsed and the roof half caved in. "Oh, uh," Nashua mumbled as her hand rose to rub the back of her head. "It's, uh, a little bent up, but, uh, you know, we'll fix it!" She turned to Ramen and gave the human a sheepish grin. Maaaybe it'd have been a good idea to make sure that it was all in once piece, first. "Not right now, of course, but sometime soon." Nashua walked up to the mostly collapsed building, and carefully stepped over the layer of rubble that blocked the doorway, kicking some rocks out of the way to clear a path. "Anyway, welcome to my house! What do you think?"

Ramen managed to send a smile and a wave Nashua's way, but it wasn't long before she was back to fussing with her hair. Being a powerful warrior didn't mean a whole lot if you couldn't also look good at the same time, and the last thing she wanted was to be caught in the middle of some climactic battle without a good style to her. After a moment of fanning out her hair and trying to strike a loose, 'care-free' style, she just gave up and opted to make do for now. It wasn't like they were going to run into trouble in Nashua's home, of all places. "Um, Vegeta has been alright so far," she offered, though a faint frown tugged at her lips. "It's not exactly what I expected if I'm being honest -- I mean, I don't really know what I expected, but I guess I just sort of figured it'd be something it wasn't. There are a lot of interesting things I would like to take the time to explore, though. The Tuffle Ruins especially." As much as she had been eager to make the journey to Vegeta, it being the natural conclusion to the long campaign on Namek, there was no getting around it: it just wasn't the same for her as it was for her Saiyan allies. This wasn't home, and she hadn't really had a chance to form any kind of attachment to it. All she had seen so far were ruined cities, active war zones and rampaging Oozaru. She was looking forward to seeing the kind of place Nashua lived in, at least -- at least until her house came into view and it had an entire wall collapsed in on it. She stared in silence for a good, long moment before hurrying to catch up to Nashua. "Yeah, uh, we can do that. I guess I kind of have some experience in fixing broke buildings, if you count that big stupid tower on Earth..." she wrinkled her nose at the thought. That hadn't exactly been the most exciting day. "But other than the broken in-wall, it looks nice! I mean, I've never really seen Saiyan houses before, so..."

"You broke a giant tower on Earth?" Nashua asked in slight surprise. "Er, helped fix one? Then you have plenty of experience! I'm sure you'll be able to lend a plentiful hand to the operations around here, in that case!" The Saiyan didn't really know what kind of work specifically entailed rebuilding a collapsed building, but she assumed it wasn't just as simple as putting the pieces back together with really strong glue. They probably needed to just tear down the collapsed walls and such and replace them with new, not collapsed ones. Same for the floors and ceilings, too. Something like that, anyway. Nashua smiled widely as Ramen said her house looked nice, despite her lack of knowledge on how Vegetan home usually looked. "Thank you! It's nothing too special, of course, but, you know. I'll definitely have to take a look at your own house once I get back to Earth, too!"
She clasped her hands together excitedly, and then whirled around to take a look at what was still recognizable. "Okay, let's see... I still lived with my parents, so a lot of this stuff is theirs, too," she mumbled as she started kicking aside chunks of rubble. It was hard to find anything too tangible among all the stuff that had been smashed or burned, which was a little disheartening, but eventually, stuff did start turning up. "Oh, hey!" she exclaimed as she bent down and grabbed something, standing up and turning around to reveal what looked like a little plushie Oozaru, with little bits of rubble caught all across its fuzzy, dark brown fur. "This is Taramcho, he was my favorite when I was little, I'm glad he managed to survive! Here," she handed the stuffed animal over to Ramen, then continued to look for stuff that had survived.
There wasn't a whole lot, really. The kitchen area was pretty intact, at least, with most of the hard silverware, like forks and knives, surviving. Most of the glass cups and plates had been shattered, though. None of that was particularly interesting, Nashua figured, so she just silently moved on and bit her lip with worry at how little had actually managed to survive. And then, she found just the sort of thing she'd hoped had lived as she kicked away the knocked over fridge. "Ah-" she exclaimed, bending down and gingerly picking up a picture frame. "Here's something a little better, that's me and my mom and dad, like, three years ago or something!" She turned the picture to show Ramen: a slightly shorter and less muscular Nashua with a bright smile standing between a very tall Saiyan man with his arms crossed over his chest, and a stern expression upon his face, and a woman with brown, spiky hair, who looked to be about Nashua's current height, with a much softer expression on her features.
"That's my dad, Broccini," she said as she leaned over the photo and pointed at the grumpy fellow, "And that's my mom, Agula," Nashua added as her finger drifted over to the lady's face. She brought her finger back down to the girl in the center, stating, "And that one's me!"

"... I mean, I don't have a whole lot of know-how! But if something's already sort of there and you can just follow the general outline of what's already built, then it's not too bad... it's like connecting the dots!" she gave a firm nod, before a thought caused her a moment of hesitation. She hadn't actually been to the Lookout since she helped to mend it in the first place. There was no telling whether any of the parts she had helped fix had actually stayed in place. For all she knew, her hand at construction had ensured the Stargoons' ploy to destroy the tower had ultimately succeeded. For now, she shrugged off the thought. "Uh -- anyways. I guess if you can find the right material to help fix it, then at the very least I can help try."
She held back a laugh at the site of the plushie Oozaru, taking it from Nashua and giving it a little experimental poke. It wasn't so different from the kinds of plushies you would find on Earth, but given Saiyans turned into these creatures, it was at least a little bit silly. She followed along through the rest of the tour, taking note of what was honestly a fairly standard home. It wasn't all that different from the types of buildings you would see on Earth, even if the architecture was a little different. The most interesting point was the picture that Nashua pointed out. Nashua didn't look all that different in it, aside from being a little younger, but it was the first time she had seen the rest of her family. She managed a small smile. "He looks friendly," she quipped at the site of her father's rather moody look. "This must have been just a few years ago, right? I suppose a lot's changed since all that's happened..."
She recalled that Nashua had originally wanted to revive the Saiyans on Vegeta, and her smile faded. She still thought it was the right call to alter the wish to spare the revived the bloodshed that would surely follow, but it had robbed Nashua of the chance to see her parents again. "... Hey," she started, her tone quieter now. "I don't want to go back to Namek again, but whenever you go back to get the Dragon Balls again, you can count on me to help you. Even if other things are happening and I can't be there at the time, I'll at least pick up a scouter so you can always call me in emergencies, okay?"

"Oh, yeah," Nashua replied as Ramen commented about her father, "He might look like a bit of a grump here - and to be fair, he was, a lot - but he had quite the soft spot for my mom! And me, too, of course." She paused for a moment, and the smile on her face slightly dropped into a bit of a frown. Her heart truly ached to see them again, much as she tried to stay positive about their current circumstances. Ramen's question snapped her back out of her thoughts before she got too down in the dumps, though. "Oh, yeah, I think this was about three years ago. So I'd have been about sixteen years old, right there. Three years older than Tarch, but, uh, one one hundred thousandth of his power level." She was curious to ask how strong Ramen herself had been three years back, but the human probably wouldn't even have remembered that.
There was a bit of a short silence, until Ramen spoke up again, with an oddly quiet tone of voice. Nashua wasn't sure what she was saying at first, but once it clicked, the Saiyan gave her Earthling friend a warm smile. "Aww, that's so sweet of you, Ramen!" she exclaimed happily. That actually reminded her of something that Ramen would probably be glad to hear. Something that meant they might not even need to go back to Namek at all! "But, actually, I forgot to mention," Nashua added, stepping over towards one of the uncollapsed kitchen counters and carefully placing the photograph on top of it. "I don't think we'll even need to go back to Namek to make a wish, now that I found something out about Earth!" She turned back to Ramen and gave the human a determined expression.
"Earth has its own set of Dragon Balls, in fact! And there was a recent report while we were on Namek about the sky going dark and several glimmering objects blasting across the sky. That can only mean that they're active yet again!" She paused for a moment to take a step forward, her hands folding in front of her torso. "So, I was thinking I would sneak over to Earth while things are still calming down here on Vegeta, and then I can get all the Balls together as soon as I can to wish everyone back onto the now peaceful Vegeta! It might be a bit risky, but I doubt there'll be too much trouble on Earth, compared to what we saw on Namek." She tilted her head slightly as she asked, "What do you think, good idea? Bad idea?"

Ramen smiled quietly as Nashua spoke a little further about her family. It wasn't the sort of thing she had really taken the time to talk about with her new Saiyan allies, even if it was liable to be a sore subject. But Nashua's next comment was a little less welcome: news that Earth had its own set of Dragon Balls. Her immediate reaction was mixed, and her expression told the tale. It meant that Nashua would be able to wish her family back to life, along with the rest of the killed Saiyans... but that silver lining came with a whole host of problems. It meant the sorts of threats that faced Earth now had free reign to collect the Dragon Balls and put them towards their own vile ends.
They had only just averted a disaster with Lord Boreal and the Stargoons, and now there was the potential for another one, this one situation on her home planet? It wasn't welcome news. "That's... unfortunate," she admitted, though she winced figuring Nashua wouldn't take her views on the situation too well. "I'm glad that you have an opportunity to make your wish sooner rather than later, but the Dragon Balls attract so much danger that now... well, Earth is probably going to end up under just as much danger as Namek was before the Trade Fleet self-destructed."
She reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose, letting out an uneasy sigh. She didn't like the idea, but she could at least put her personal feelings aside for Nashua's sake. "... Good idea," she eventually admitted. "If anyone is going to seize Earth's Dragon Balls, I would rather it be someone I know for certain isn't going to use it to their detriment. But you had better be careful, because we don't know what kind of threats have built up back home since we left. Remember -- she might have been with the Trade Fleet, but Chamil was from Earth. There could be someone stronger than her waiting to jump you."

Ramen was, understandably, a little concerned about Earth having its own set of Dragon Balls. Nashua couldn't blame her for that, those things sure seemed like they attracted quite a bit of trouble. And, if Nashua had heard the news about the reemergence of the magical objects, without even being on the planet in the past three or four months, then the chances of some undesirable third party hearing about them and wanting to use them for evil was pretty high. "You're probably right," Nashua replied with some clear concern. She paused for a moment and watched Ramen pinch the bridge of he nose, a pretty clear sign of some kind of mental anguish or headache. She didn't like the idea, did she? The Saiyan had been hoping to have Ramen's support for the idea, though if the human really didn't think it was a good idea, well, her judgement had proven better than Nashua's for the most part.
To the Saiyan's surprise, though, Ramen relented. She warned Nashua to be careful, but said it was a good idea. That was all she needed to hear! "Oh, really? Thank you! And, of course, I can't be much use to anyone if I go and get myself killed cause I wasn't careful enough." Nashua flexed out her muscles in a slightly joking manner once she'd finished speaking, and added, "Besides, I might not be able to go Oozaru anymore, but I can still pack a punch if someone tries to jump me!" Her eyebrows furrowed and her lips grew into a confident smile at Ramen to try and elicit some kind of laugh from the Earthling, though she returned to a more neutral position and expression after holding the pose for a few seconds or so. That did remind her of something a bit less light hearted that she wanted to ask Ramen in regards to the whole wish thing.
"That, um, actually reminds me," she started, her posture clearly shrinking back slightly as her arms lowered to her waist and her left hand tightly gripped her right wrist. "Regarding, uh, dying. If I die, somehow, to the Fleet on Earth or some other unfortunate thing..." Nashua was pretty evidently uncomfortable talking about the subject of her own death, but she took a deep breath and continued on. "Can I ask you to go on and make the wish for me? Or, make sure it gets done? I know it's a lot to ask of you, but I think I'd rest in peace a lot easier knowing that all the people the Fleet killed were brought back to live the lives they deserved to." She bit her lip once she finished, and nervously awaited Ramen's answer. It was a big responsibility, though it was only in the worst case scenario. Nashua didn't plan on dying anytime soon.

"I would really prefer not to have to do that," Ramen admitted. One Dragon Ball hunt was enough for her, and the idea of having to undertake another wasn't the most appealing. "But if something happened to you, then... I would, yes. But wouldn't you need to be brought back to life too, if that happened..?"
After a moment, she just shook her head fiercely. "Let's not even let this be a possibility, alright? If the worst happens, I'll try to pick up for you and complete your task, but do everything in your power to make sure I don't have to. Be careful, be smart. Don't fight any fights you can't win. It's better you lose a Dragon Ball and we can get it back together than you charge down someone way stronger than you and die for nothing."
She folded her arms across her chest at that, giving the Saiyan a bit of a look. At this point, she felt she knew Nashua well enough to know that she likely would make one reckless decision or another. She was a good person and a good friend, but she was also naive and maybe a little too hopeful. She was lucky to have even survived the last Dragon Ball hunt, given what had happened between her and Chamil.
"Oh," she spoke up again, another thought crossing her mind. "If you are doing this, you have to give me your word you'll train hard. Find a way to regain your Oozaru form or find a way to achieve some new power, maybe similar to my own. Do something so you won't end up easy pickings for whatever Trade Fleet alien swarms down on you."

Hearing Ramen say that she'd take up the mantle and finish what Nashua started if the worst were to have happened was a relief to hear, for sure. Ramen did raise the question of Nashua's own revival, though. "Well... I can wait a few months, or so. I'm sure you'll get around to me sometime after. Everyone else has been waiting almost year now, so they should get some priority." Ramen quickly moved on past that point, though, reinforcing the idea that caution was far more valuable than recklessness. Which, well, maybe was some advice Nashua needed to heed. Her behavior during the hunt on Namek was far from the smartest she'd ever acted, and now she didn't even have a powerful transformation she could depend on. Which segued into Ramen's next point...
"I'll um, figure something out. Maybe Xana can make me a robot tail!" It probably wouldn't work, but it'd look cool, wouldn't it? As far as increasing her power in ways other than by transforming into a giant monkey, well, there wasn't much she could think of. There hadn't been a 'Super Saiyan' in over a hundred years, so it was doubtful she'd suddenly sprout up into one. "Oh, I know," she said, clasping her hands together, "Kayen was able to boost her power, somehow, right? I should ask her about that, once she and Vocado uh, settle their whole dispute thing. I guess that should be happening soon, huh?" Exciting as the first match had been to be present for, Nashua didn't think she'd stick around for the rematch. The Dragon Balls were a more urgent goal of hers, and she would just find out the results of the match afterwards.
"What about you, then?" Nashua asked, deciding to change the subject away from the Balls for the time being. "You said you're probably headed to Earth soon too, right? What're you planning on doing there? Some kinda special training?" The Saiyan hopped up onto the surprisingly intact kitchen counter, folding her hands in front of her and gently kicking her feet back and forth as she awaited a response from the Earthling.

Ramen crossed the room to rest back against a ruined support, jutting half-way out of a wall it was once meant to hold up. At this point, she couldn't be sure what would bring the rest of the house down, so she just opted to relax and assume after sitting here in ruin for so long, it was stuck together in a sturdy sort of disrepair. That's probably how it worked, anyways. "She used a sort of magical artifact to help her, but I don't know if that's really going to be good enough for you. It's strong, but it's not enough to match up to someone like me on its own. She still needs to turn into an Oozaru, and that pendant just... makes her even stronger like that."
She lifted her shoulder into an easy shrug. Given she had once doubted Kayen for using such an object, she wasn't about to suggest it to someone else, even if she was starting to warm to the idea overall.
"Try relying on your own strength," she suggested, gesturing up and down to the woman. "You're a Saiyan, after all. There's got to be some sort of strength you can pull out. I remember fighting Cress when he was upset I kicked the snot out of him that one time, and it was like fighting a completely different man."
"... and as far as Earth is concerned, yeah. I'm going to head back there and try to find a way to finally overcome my own power problems. I miss Earth, but I'm feeling more and more like my place is with all of you. But, well." She shut her eyes and gave a firm shake of her head. There was a lot of good training to be had on Vegeta, and she had to admit there was an appeal to exploring an alien world like this. But this wasn't the time for touring. "I don't know if you remember, but we spoke a little bit about this on Namek."
"If I'm ever going to exceed natural Saiyan power, I'm going to need to do it on Earth. As a human. I can't help but feel that kind of training or whatever it is I actually need -- it's not going to be found amongst a group who can't sympathize with my struggles, y'know?"

"Oh, yeah," Nashua replied as Ramen described Cress' surge of power. She'd had that happen to her, too, a few times. "I think that's something to do with our Saiyan blood," she started to explain, though quickly realized she had no idea what she was actually talking about. How exactly did it work, again...? "Uhh, lemme think." She paused for a second and leaned back against the countertop again, only for the wooden boards to crack in half under her weight and cause her to plop down on her rear end in the rubble. "Ow." Nashua quickly stood back up and dusted herself off, hastily explaining, "Basically, when someone kicks our ass, we get both that thing called Zenkai that makes us stronger, and our bodies physically yearn to defeat whoever dunked us, so we fight about twice as hard the next time we see them." That sounded right... Right?
As for Ramen's plans, they sounded fair, and it was sweet to hear how Ramen felt like she'd found a second home among the Saiyans, despite her earlier frustrations on Namek about how she barely felt like she belonged. It made Nashua smile. Although, she also commented about being unable to grow with a group that couldn't sympathize with her lack of power, which made Nashua's smile falter, however slightly. Her hand slowly reached back to the base of her spinal cord, where she could still feel the slightly furry stump that remained after most of her tail had been disintegrated. What was Ramen complaining about so badly? At least she could still increase her power at all, Nashua was stuck at her base power for probably forever. "O-Oh, yeah, I get you," she replied anyway, forcing an understanding nod.
Lingering as the vaguest hints of resentment in the back of her mind might have been, Nashua was going to do her best to support Ramen on her quest for greater power. Maybe she'd find some strength of her own along the way, too. "Well, I'll be following you shortly, anyway, since I'll be after the Dragon Balls myself. ...You don't think I could use those to get powe- no, I'm not doing that." The thought crossed her mind as quickly as she realized it was a poor idea. "But, yeah, I suppose I'll just have to... See. I know forms beyond Oozaru exist, but nobody's had one in over a century. So it's anyone's guess at how one becomes a Super Saiyan. You got any ideas?" She leaned back against the side of the not broken counter, this time being careful to catch herself if it collapsed under her weight, which it luckily did not.

Ramen nodded along to Nashua's explanation. At least it made some sense to her now: Cress had seemingly grown so powerful in their rematch that he was capable of taking her on without even entering into his Oozaru form. Yet, at the same time, he was much closer to her level the rest of the time. In fact, she had a suspicion that she was actually stronger than him, but it had been so long since she had a chance to see him transform that it was mostly guesswork at this point.
"I guess that makes sense. Well, it doesn't make sense, but it makes sense as much as anything else makes sense when it comes to Saiyan biology..." She frowned faintly, glancing back towards Nashua's family photograph. Saiyans probably found humans a little strange in the same way that she often struggled with them, so it was probably a mutual feeling between her and Nashua. "I don't even understand how tails are important for becoming Oozaru. I mean, you need that blutz energy to transform -- are tails like, conductors for that sort of thing? Like a solar panel but made of fur?"
"Maybe I shouldn't think too much about this," she decided, without waiting for Nashua's response. "I don't even know how my own transformations work half the time. But uh--" she looked back to the Saiyan, quickly getting back onto the topic at hand. "I don't think you should use the Dragon Balls for power, really. I mean, you want to revive your parents so that's probably the best wish. But you do get three, so I guess it couldn't hurt to think about others. Maybe you could wish for the world's greatest gym. I bet that'd help you turn into a Super Saiyan."
"Besides, if anyone can do it, I bet you can! You're great at training. You're like the opposite of Xanathrozza!"
