Well, this was certainly shaping up to be a battle that Synthesia hadn't expected. Sentient beings usually had more tact- but this guy was more like a wild beast, driven by raw power and battle instinct, Unfortunately for him, Synthesia's battle practice was against beasts- bears, whatever other wild creatures he could find in the woods -and despite the fact that this guy was hundreds of times stronger, the same principles still applied. Use the enemy's strength against them.
As he was pulled with the chains, Synthesia let it happen. In fact, he seemed a little bit too willing to be pulled. The second the Child of Nature was close enough, he dropped his grip on the chains and leapt from the ground- but he didn't land on his feet. He landed on Hale's shoulders, balancing his weight on top of the hulking Arcosian. Furthermore, he landed not on his feet but on his hands, entering a one-handed handstand on Hale's right shoulder. The handstand then turned into a cartwheel, with Synthesia placing his other hand on Hale's left bicep. The cartwheel was followed through by Synthesia planting his feet on the ground on Hale's left side, gripping on his forearm with his remaining hand, and using the ridiculous momentum he just built up to fling Hale hard and fast straight into the ceiling.
However, that wasn't all- Hale still had the chains on his hand. Said chains slithered their way up Hale's arm like a snake- before erupting spikes through every single chain link. If Hale couldn't react in time, those chains were gonna sting a little bit.
Using the time he had bought for himself, Synthesia disengaged, creating distance from the spot where he flung Hale. He landed right next to the tree, crossing his arms and smiling at his handiwork.

Terryn's cheering and comments didn't go unnoticed, but Hale was so focused on what was happening that he couldn't directly acknowledge without putting himself in a bad position. Unfortunately for Hale he seemed to put himself in a bad position all by himself, though clearly unintentionally and through what he thought was a clever move. His movement slowed as he felt the hands on his shoulder, distracting him trying to slap Synthesia off of him, but every time he reached for him he seemed to move just a moment before, making the scene look likely amusing with Hale spinning and swatting around and Synthesia's acrobatics.
In an eye-widening moment Hale found himself off balance as he reached again for the plant man and whiffed, though his feet suddenly off the ground caused him to momentarily panic and grab around, but it was too late for balance. In less than a second he contacted with the ceiling, letting out a loud "oof" sound, but seemed more stunned than hurt, with a look that quickly turned to an angry glare. As the chains wrapped their way up his arm, his eye began to twitch, and instead of fighting against it he using a mixture of his ability to fly and a grip with his right hand and arm to stay right where he was, and kept his glare focused on Synthesia.
The spikes dug into his skin and he winced in pain, but his arm reached out and grabbed at the chain, wrapping more of it around his arm until it was tight against Synthesia's grip and trickles of blood slid down the chain. Slowly Hale pushed his upper body away hard enough to push away from the ceiling and bent his knees, kicking and pushing off as hard as he could managed away from the ceiling, grabbing the loose part of the chain with his other arm as he finally landed as far as the chain length would go from Synthesia and once again began to wrap the chain around his arm further, slowly walking towards its origin. Growling out he gave a hard tug on the chain, intending to pull the chain free or pull Synthesia closer to him with it.

Well, this guy was tough. Way tougher than Synth had anticipated. Synth could sense him, but it didn't make much of a difference- if he didn't know how to use his strength, then that number was a worthless one. Or at least, that's what he thought- because at this moment, he was really feeling the gap in power.
As the chain was jerked forwards, Synthesia was as well- he gave up the chain without much resistance, but almost as soon as it left his hands, it evaporated into nothing. That left him on a level playing field with his adversary, which wasn't exactly the place he wanted to be. A distraction would need to do.
Synthesia clasped his hands together. Moments later, clay visages of himself formed from the ground, the dirt morphing vaguely into Synthesia's form. The two copies pressed their hands together, and when their hands separated, a vine formed. Keeping the vine in between them, the two of them rushed forwards, hoping to entangle Hale in their tether.

Hale give a guttural growling scream as the chain came towards him and seemed to go through his hands like sand until it was nothing physically touch him. This seemed to somehow bother him even more, and at this point he was seeming less like the laid back Arcosian that started the fight and was slipping into a more bestial state more and more. His eyes were fixated on Synthesia, one fist on the ground much like an ape, the other out to his side still dripping blood from the earlier attack.
His arm moved and pointed towards Synthesia as his fist on the ground punched down and he charged. Just feet from the pant humanoid Hale punched the ground and leapt straight into the air heading for the ceiling. Coming close to five feet from it, Hale made a loud audible gasp of air and let out a screaming roar that echoed loudly through the the room, followed by a familiar blast of energy from his mouth. He wasn't sure which Synthesia at this point was the real one given he has been so focused on his ascent, but his eyes were turned upward as the blast smashed into the ceiling with a force sending him rocketing down towards Synthesia's general area as he curled tight into a ball to the extent he physically could.

Terryn's sights narrowed as he continued to watch the two duke it out. His arms crossed as he followed their movements closely, now much easier due to his heightened senses. Hale's movements were much faster and held far more power than Synth could even hope to reach, and yet he still couldn't land a single blow on the kid...
'Is Synth just that skilled?' Terryn thought to himself, watching as Synthesia carefully planned out every attack, engaging and disengaging without breaking a single sweat. His sights darted toward Hale, watching as he seemingly grew more and more frustrated. 'Or does he just have no idea how to even approach him?' The Captain hummed, tapping his arm with his index finger. '...Can't say I blame him. Not everyday you fight someone with such weird-ass magic...I'd probably struggle too.' The Trooper clicked his tongue with another thoughtful hum. Even so, Hale would have to prove that he could adapt to his opponent, and find a way to overpower him. The gap in their strength was enormous, after all. If the Changeling could find a weak spot in Synthesia's fighting style, their fight would be over with in a flash!
Hale charged toward Synthesia once again, causing Terryn to raise an unamused brow. How many times was he going to approach the same way before realizing it wouldn't work? The Captain sucked in some air, yet right as he was about to interject, the Changeling leapt far into the air, only a few feet removed from Synth! ''-Wh?''
''What's he doing...?'' Terryn muttered, trailing the Arcosian with his eyes. Then, as he reached the peak of his jump, Hale suddenly unleashed his energy toward the very ceiling, propelling himself toward Synthesia at a breakneck speed! ''H-HEY!''
Eyes wide, Terryn freed his arms and immediately launched himself forward. The Captain leapt skyward, passing Hale in the blink of an eye to intercept the beam of energy. With a brief cry, Terryn's fiery Ki wrapped around his body as the beam slammed into him. He fought the incoming surge of powerful energy, like trying to swim past a rushing current. His back slammed into the ceiling above him, sending a web of cracks through the plaster.
''Can you two try and not damage the building so much?!'' Terryn yelled at the as gravity dragged him back to the ground, possibly going unheard through the chaos of their battle. ''Like, seriously, the repair bills are draining my damn pockets dry!''
The Captain sighed as he distanced himself from the two once again. Despite his ceiling nearly being obliterated, Terryn was impressed by Hale's odd way of attacking. It was feral, and incredibly stupid- yet that's exactly why it worked!
''G-good going though! Nice attack!''

Strong. This guy had some incredibly strong attacks.
Frankly, Synthesia didn't really expect this kind of speed from him- so much so that agile as he was, he couldn't react. Dodging would've been his best course of action, but he didn't have it in him to make that kind of speed. So, instead of dodging, he cocooned himself in a cradle of soil and braced for impact.
No amount of bracing would've prepared him for the attack, evidenced by the fact that the lower part of Synthesia's body exploded upon impact. Quite literally. The force put behind Hale's body utterly obliterated his lower half. Synthesia was glad he couldn't feel pain, because even though he couldn't, he could still feel that.
However, losing half his body mass wasn't enough to stop the Child of Nature. He rolled back on his hands and vaulted upwards, the lower part of his body slowly reforming in mid-air. He flipped backwards and landed on the tree he had grown earlier, slumping against it's trunk as a pair of legs slowly began to form on the lower half of his body. He let out a laugh at he stared at Hale, patting his thigh. "Getting angry, now? That's not a very Pride Trooper thing to do, I don't think. I'm sure crushing a petty criminal's legs wouldn't look very good on your resume."
Synthesia tentatively stood, shaking his new legs out experimentally. "Well, were I a normal human, hoo boy. I'm pretty sure you'd have been kicked out right then and there! Luckily for you, I'm made of tougher stuff then they are." One condescending smile and a mocking tilt of the head later, Synthesia motioned towards the tree he stood beside. "Did you forget? Your goal is to snap the tree, not snap my neck. Though, maybe the distinction is a little hard for you space lizards."
Synthesia patted the tree beside him amiably, continuing to gaze at Hale with his usual infuriating demeanor. "How about this? I'll even stand right next to the tree, so that when you predictably come barreling forwards like you always do, you have a higher chance of actually hitting what you're supposed to."

His body had left a dent, and under him a bit of what was apparently Synthesia's legs, seen partially as Hale rolled over onto his back and looked up at the plant bio-android upside down. A smile started to form across his face as he saw his lower body beginning to grow back, sitting up and looking over to Terryn. The smile seemed plastered on his face, falling more into a grin just resting on the left side of his face with a curled lip. Slowly he began to roll over and stand, methodically and slowly until he was mostly upright but bend over breathing heavily. His head and eyes kept track of Synthesia, and as he spoke the grin broke back into the wide smile until his teeth were showing, glad for the fact that the body of this plant creature could grow back as he wouldn't have to hold back as much. "Your friend did say he would step in if he needed to. If you'd like me to go easy on you I can." the smile turning slowly back to a smirking grin. "I just thought a Pride Trooper like yourself could take a hit."
The more Synthesia talked, the more Hale's feet seemed to dig into the ground, and slowly his dark green aura began to show again, growing in size and pushing out. His energy seemed to be growing as were the muscles on his body flexing and bulking even more than before. "Tougher stuff huh?" Flexing and opening his fists a few times, looking down at them, then back up very slowly at the mention of the tree. "Oh I hadn't forgot about the tree, I just thought we could have a little fun first. If this is too much for you though...", making a point to quip back. Though his moment was cut short by the mocking tone and comment, and again the aura visibly around his flexed outward. Turning his head and body around slightly he spoke over his shoulder to Terryn "Sorry about this.", bending down and punching his hands into the floor beneath him as his leg muscled flexed, and in a moment he straightened up and pulled up a large chunk of floor, wasting no time chunking a piece almost as large as Synthesia's body towards the tree as hard as he could manage.

Dammit! Synthesia hated when his quips were matched with other quips! He glared at his lizard opponent, who wasn't charging in predictably. No- instead, his opponent was powering up, becoming even stronger than he was before. Synthesia swallowed. Well, this certainly wasn't very good. Synthesia undoubtedly had the better technique, but at this point, this Arcosian was double his power. Even for a child as arrogant as Synthesia, he was a little taken aback. Just a little, though.
He was taken aback a lot when Hale chucked the giant piece of Earth at him and the tree, though. Synthesia did not expect that from him. However, he could deal with a chunk of dirt. He grew in one of those, after all. As the earth barreled towards the tree, Synthesia clapped his hands together and slammed them on the floor, causing the chunk of land he and the tree stood on to rocket upwards, avoiding the thrown boulder by the velocity of their upwards acceleration.
To continue the fight, the bottom of the earth he had ejected from the ground began to morph and change- change into a volley of spikes, spikes that were tossed at Hale, hoping to distract Hale so that the chunk of earth could land safely without his intervention. After all, if he caught the two of them in the air, that'd be bad news.

Hale stood firm as the chunk flew towards the tree and the more mouthy tree, not too sure what sort of tricks he would employ, but what he got wasn't entirely unexpected, though the way it was executed was still impressive. It was however far more annoying than he cared to admit, as the two fighting styles couldn't have been more different and it was hard to get a grasp on the plant boy in this fight. Even Hale knew at this point that he would have to keep pushing until he wore Synthesia down, or try and play his game and neither were great options. Hale didn't have the tools to play the ranged game, but with how agile the plant boy was, it was narrowing his options considerably.
What Hale expected were more comments trying to goad him into charging and losing his patience, but what he got was a barrage of projectiles headed straight for him in the form of spikes. He had a decision to make and not much time to think about it, and his decision was do the expected and force Synthesia to make him stop. His feet were already planted and dug into the ground, so all it took was lowering his upper body and pushing off, meeting the incoming attack head on. A chunk of the spikes met their mark, but his sheer stubborn nature kept his feet moving, showing little to no signs of pain as if running through a rain storm, his eyes focused intently on Synthesia.
Yet again he was charging forward, barreling in and in mid-air heading straight for his current opponent, but with a slight twist and a loud echoing growl, he bellowed out another blast of energy from his mouth. Hale attempted to use the power and momentum to change direction in the air and shoot him towards the tree, feet from Synthesia, arms outstretched and reaching.
Took the attack but used his Arcosian durability to lower it from 20,000 to 13,400 (-33% to an attack)

Well, Hale had done exactly what Synth didn't want him to do. Hale barreling towards him was a recipe for disaster- so, he'd just need to bring out his trump card. He didn't exactly want to bring out this power against this Arcosian- going all out against them was practically admitting that he was strong enough to join the troopers. But Synthesia was stubborn, and he refused to let this space-lizard slight against him so. No, he would fight back. He would win.
The pendant on his neck shone. Seconds later, strange, ancient texts sprawled out across his body darkening his facial features and adding a tinge of red to his pupils. He gathered his newfound power in his ankles and leapt off the platform, now with newfound speed. He somersaulted over Hale before spinning around, positioning himself behind the Arcosian. Using his control over the tree, he dropped it from the platform and onto the ground- the piece of plant life falling down and planting it's roots in the ground below.
Meanwhile, Synth had been planning his counterattack. When he leapt from the platform, something else left with him- a pair of Earthen chains, one in each hand. They latched onto the ground of the suspended Earth itself. With a mighty tug, Synthesia brought the entire landmass forward, aiming to slam hale as he barreled ever forwards.

Hale had expected some sort of vine whip to the face, or a rain or sharp petals, maybe even a berating quip about looking like a lizard, but there was a quiet frustration near visibly emanating from Synthesia. It was almost convenient that his body looked to partially glow with the appearance of some type of text across as if it could read his thoughts and answered in kind. He had no idea of the source of whatever was happening let alone actually know what was happening in that moment, thinking it was another of the strange tricks he had been pulling throughout the fight, but the sudden acrobatics mixed with increased speed caught Hale just enough off guard. His usual reaction would have been to try and grab Synthesia as he went over head, but the sudden increase in speed mixed with whatever this writing was distracted him and at the same time interested him. Clearly the two were related, but Hale was oblivious to the pendant despite the way it lit up when activated, but Hale's attention at the time was on the tree, and only changed when more of Synthesia lit up.
His attention was taken away from Synthesia as he saw the tree drop and move once again, causing him to growl to himself audibly, following it with his eyes, but they drifted over to what looked to be chains, following them down to where they attached. As the large piece of earth began to fly towards him, Hale's arms and legs spread wide, letting it hit his body and clung on with his legs as hard as he could manage without cracking or breaking the large piece of ground. His hands reached out as he shoved off with his legs and kicking at the rock, but grabbed around at the same time, bear hugging it and spinning the entire piece around until he was now upside down. It would look in mid-air as if he was attempting to suplex the rock, clinging onto it with both arms in an attempt to slam it towards Synthesia. He was no doubt in pain, and if he were to sit still long enough for any sort of inspection, even the untrained eye could see the cuts, scrapes, and bruises he was partially self-inflicting through his fighting style with the help of Synthesia, but his adrenaline just wasn't allowing him to stop and realize how much pain he was in.

This was getting troublesome. At this point, Synth didn't even feel like he was fighting another human being. No, instead, he felt like he was fighting a wild animal, an untamed beast who would charge and break anything in his path in order to accomplish his goal, in order to obliterate his target utterly and completely. He was fighting in way that Synthesia would've expected him to.
He didn't expect it because he knew how Hale fought, and he could get a general read on the guy- no. He knew it because all Arcosians were like that. All of them. He had been in a brawl with every Arcosian he had ever met, save for one. Arcosians ran the Trade Fleet. Arcosians threatened his home. Why did Synthesia ever think that someone like that, someone reprehensible from that awful race, would ever truly be a good fit in the Pride Troopers. Terryn wasn't biased, but Synthesia couldn't see why. He couldn't see why Terryn would even consider him. He couldn't fathom that the way things were going, Hale would win, eventually.
He couldn't fathom that someone like this would be a Pride Trooper. It would be his fault, too. His fault for not stopping him.
The life drained out of Synthesia's face as he realized this, the rock slamming into his chest as he barreled into the ground, his body seperating into pieces once more. Said pieces began to claw themselves back together, slowly re-forming the child on the ground below. He didn't move- he instead stared at the ground, clenching his fist in anger. Why would Terryn make this kind of choice? Why couldn't he overpower this Arcosian? Why wasn't what he was doing effective? He kept on getting up and pushing on, and on, and on. Synthesia gritted his teeth and looked upwards, shooting Hale the harshest glare he had ever given another living being.
"...whatever. You're stronger than I am. Solve whatever problems you get using brute force. I don't care." Synthesia looked towards Terryn, then back towards Hale. All the motivation he had to fight this Arcosian drained out of him. If he was this tough, Terryn probably already wanted him in the troopers. Why wouldn't he? Of course he would want someone this strong fighting for his cause. Of course he would.
Synthesia bit the bottom of his lip, tears welling up in the corner of his eyes. He quickly wiped them away before they could fall, his anger getting to him. The mystic words on his body receeded, and his level of power returned to it's usual, meager self. "Whatever. I'm sure Terryn wants you in the troopers. Guess you must be happy, but I don't care anymore. I don't care. But, I want you to know." He jabbed an accusatory finger at Hale, not bothering to hide the hate-filled scowl that adorned his face.
"I'll never accept you as a real Pride Trooper. I will never knowledge your strength. I will never regard you as a friend, and I will never ask you for aid. Everyone else can count you in as a Pride Trooper, but I won't. Not ever. You're dead to me." After finishing his angry, spiteful rant, Synthesia turned away from Hale, not giving the buff Arcosian a chance to respond. If Synthesia was lucky, he'd ideally never need to hear him respond to anything ever again.
The doors to the training room slammed shut, and Synthesia was gone.

The attack connected with a truly sickening sound, and as Hale landed on his feet next to the large makeshift weapon, his eyes shifted around at Synthesia reforming himself in a manner that was hard for Hale to get used to seeing. It was clear at this point the fight was over, and it was equally as clear that Synthesia was annoyed with multiple layers of that being the case. He had seemed to make no attempt to hide his disdain for Arcosians which Hale was used to from others, but the fact that the majority came from those that claimed to be Earth's heroes really got under his skin. His eyes didn't move from the planet creature who's pride was clearly wounded as badly as his body, and it wasn't until he met his gaze with that look of pure hatred that Hale was truly angry for the first time during this fight.
All he could manage was a sigh in response to his words, rolling his eyes as it looked as if Synthesia was on the verge of a temper tantrum, and he had truly seemed to be done with the fight, despite all his bluster and boasting. This was far from the first time he had witnessed a reaction like this, but it stung a bit given the situation and frustrated him far more than he was at the moment letting on. He looked over at Terryn that seemed to have nothing to say on the matter as if he were watching to see what would happen, but his head snapped back around as Synthesia spoke up again. He was really starting to get under Hale's skin and his eyes narrowed further, taking a single step closer, standing up a bit more straight. Hale was ready to lean back and less loose with a blast far more powerful than this petulant child had seen from him and show him just how strong he really was, as he had gone easy on him compared to how he could have.
His eyes were giving off a pure anger as his speech finished, and at this point he had ignored Terryn even being in the same room and moved forward with the full intent to end more than the fight, but managed to stop himself, yelling out as Synthesia stormed off. "Listen you whiny, entitled, spoiled, wannabe hero.; I don't need your acceptance, and I sure as hell don't need your acknowledgement. The only reason I fought you was because your leader wanted me to prove I could beat you, and I did, and now you are pouting because you thought you would prove something in turn. Instead and all you proved was that you are a sore loser with a soft jaw. You've got a lot to learn kid, and I've had people a lot more important than you say a lot worse and look down on me a lot more. Grow up and pull your head along with your ego out of your ass." Scoffing and crossing his arms, watching him run off in full pout, making for the exit himself with nothing more than a wave of his hand towards Terryn.
