Oh, how Synthesia was ready to argue with this insufferable redhead all day long. Oh, how excited he was to disprove her wild theories about his lovely organization, how ready he was to smile smugly as she got angrier and angrier. Or, that's what he would be thinking if something else didn't take his attention already.
Synthesia had been more or less focused on the redhead for their brief exchange, but it was clear that this red-skinned child was going to be a problem. Perhaps he should have been more attentive to the boy- clearly, something they had said had set him off. Using his anger, now the area was in danger, along with Synthesia himself, as the flames blitzed towards him faster than he could react to them.
Luckily for Synthesia, though, his insufferable conversation partner seemed to be a tad more reasonable than he had initially thought. "ₜₕₐₙₖₛ", he squeezed out, as inaudibly as he possibly could. He cleared his throat and looked down at his Ruby Pendant- he was sure his little friend might know how to fix this problem. In a flash, the Ruby Pendant cackled to life, the energy coursing from the rock and spreading throughout Synthesia's being. Within a few seconds, the left half of Synthesia's body was coated in strange ancient texts. His now-red iris scanned the boy from his safe position beside Ramen.
His red iris flicked from bag to boy, reading the situation whilst tapped into a similarly demonic force of energy."The bag is corrupting him, I think. Or maybe he's corrupting the bag. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure." He spoke in a hushed tone to the one protecting him. He wasn't happy about needing to work with her, but at this point, it seemed necessary. That bag was dangerous. The city was nearby. If they didn't do anything, it'd cause a disaster. Luckily, it seemed the two of them had the tools they needed to solve this problem- but only together. Synthesia could deal with the corruption but not the power, whilst Ramen could deal with the power, not the corruption.
Now they just needed to work together.
"Oh great, look what you did! You set him off! Now the whole city's in danger- are you proud of yourself?"

They were still arguing. Still, Yanwang didn't have much he could do about it. He was feeling helpless. If he was stronger this would not be a problem in the first place. At least Ramen was covering the plant person now. Though the shouting didn't help. "You think I opened the bag. I didn't. Oh man, my Uncle gonna kill me. Guess this is why you don't steal from King Yemma." Yanwang had a panicked look on his face. This had never happened before and he didn't know how to fix it. Syn was saying something about the bag about corrupting. "No, you...ugh..." Yanwang flexed his fist trying to keep his emotions under control. "The Bag is connected to me. So now that I've lost control it opened up and does what it always does. Pulls stuff in and then creates stuff in exchange." Yanwang was trying to explain this while pulling in the flames. Course the plant dude was still talking. "Who cares. IT does not matter who is to blame. Just knock me or something!" He'd yell out. "I can't close the bag. At least this second I'm too...too out of control." He'd fall to his knees as the flames coiled back. The Bag was still pulling things towards it with the strength of a tornado. "Just hurry up!"

"Oh, shut up!" Ramen snapped at the complaint from over her shoulder. There would be a time and place where she would be more than happy to oblige the boy and argue with him from sunrise to sunset, but with that strange bag, whatever that thing was, beginning to cause a mess right before their eyes... well, there were more important things to focus on. "I can't do anything about magic like that, so make yourself useful and find a way to get the bag shut. I'm going to deal with this alien."She didn't bother to listen for Synthesia's approval. In truth, she didn't really care if she got it or not. Either he would follow through with the plan or he would have to answer for whatever damage that strange bag caused. Ramen had her arcs, and he had his. She launched herself towards the ogre, allowing her ki to bubble to the surface and explode in a blaze of red energy. Power coursed through her body as she closed in on him, his own amplified power soon being matched -- and then exceeded -- by her own. "This may not be your fault, but at least it'll be a lesson for running your mouth about Banzo!" she called over the growing vortex. She aimed to get right in close to the ogre to aim a hard punch straight to the stomach. It wasn't meant to be much more than a blunt blow to knock the wind out of him, and so she held back on the actual strength behind the attack. But if she connected, a spark of red ki would form in her palm, the sudden focusing of energy revealing it even amidst the crimson shear that she was surrounded with. Even if she missed entirely, her tactic would come to be much the same: that little spark would grow to a fully-sized orb of energy, and she aimed to launch it forwards to blast the alien backwards. Whether it came point-blank as was her intent, or had to jet towards him from afar, it didn't make much difference. She was almost entirely certain that attack would be too much for him. And then she'd have more left over in-case her green haired 'friend' decided to stab her in the back the moment the threat passed.

Yeah, okay. She had a very fair point.
She was leaving the bag to him. She was definately underestimating his ability- how hard could it be to close a bag? All he needed to do was waltz up, and close it! Easier than fighting with her decision would be. Yeah. That was it.
Either way, Synthesia entered stage 1 of his plan rapidly- start at a slow pace towards the bag. That was it, take it easy, take it slowly- he was being sucked into the bag. His long (and frankly inconvenient) head of hair practically rocketed towards the bag, with Synthesia letting out an extremely girlish squeal as it did so. He reached up and grabbed his hair with both hands, yanking it backwards from the bag.
Such an action made him lose balance, though, and so now his legs slid towards the bag. Synthesia let out his second squeal in the past five seconds as he desperately dug his heels into the ground to stop them from moving. Great. He needed to think quickly- what could he do?
Wait! He knew just the thing!
Bunching his hair into one hand, his other hand extended outwards towards the bag. Using the supply of magical power he had absorbed, Synthesia focused hard- and simply created as much plant mass as he could. It was an explosion of bark and leaves, hundreds, thousands of pounds of plant matter, in a split second. The volume was so high, and it was at such a range to the bag, that it became temporarily clogged!
If Synthesia weren't panicking, he'd have patted himself on the back for that genius feat of ingenuity. However, he had other things to do- like closing the bag! This would be easy- he'd just wrap his hands around the bag, and close it! He pushed with all his might- and it didn't budge. He tried again, clasping his hands like a vice around the mouth of the bag- nothing.
Well, brute force wouldn't work. Oh, and the plant mass was soon fully absorbed into the bag- so in went Synthesia's hair.
He screehed again, stopping it from advancing any further in the bag as he scrambled back. "Nonononononononono-" Synthesia repeated his empty words, over and over again, as he struggled against this inanimate object. Alright- this wasn't gonna work. Reaching back, he tearfully tore a good portion of his hair off, letting it sink into the bag. He was going to miss that hair- and he was going to pass out soon too, probably, since he used it to take in light and preform photosynthesis.
Well, problems for later. For now, the writing on Synthesia's body was lighting up and shifting as he perused it's contents. He would seal this bag! He would!

Yanwang looked up at Ramen as she was charging up her attack. Everything was going to be ok soon. Since he could not really move right now he just got ready to take the blow from Ramen. He felt the impact of the blow, which knocked the wind right out of him. Yanwang saw the black energy covering his body slowly began to fade. Everything was going to be ok. Yanwang crashed into the ground holding his stomach. "That really hurt." He whined though he knew it was for the best. He'd look over at Syn who was trying to close the bag by putting his hair in it. "I don't know if that is going to work?" Yanwang said pulling himself to his feet. He'd watch to see what would happen.
The Winds of the Fujin bag stopped. There was a sputter like an engine of a car that had something stuck in it. Then a wheeze from the bag as it began to deflate. Yanwang smiled. "I don't know what is in your hair but I guess the bag ain't too happy about it." Yanwang walked over and tied a rope around the bag. Then he peered inside. "Did you just grow a forest in my bag." He'd said honestly confused on what he was seeing inside. "I'm pretty sure the bag has infinite space. Never checked but that what I heard guess it only has on exit so just got to clog that up." Yanwang lifted the bag. "Alright well, everything seems to be alright." He said looking at Ramen and Synthesia. The bag shook a bit. Yanwang took a look confused. Then the rope began to loosen, "Uh...that not suppose to happen." Yanwang panicked agian. He'd pull the rope loose to look inside. In a flash, Yanwang was pulled into his own bag. Then the bag pulled into itself leaving no trace of it or Yanwang. They just disspeared.

Ramen couldn't help but wince when her attack landed on-target. It was hard not to feel at least a little guilty about attacking a seemingly innocent target, even if it was necessary to protect the city. Luckily, it also had an effect on him -- the blackish energy that had overtaken him was beginning to recede. She held off on following up on her attack for now, watching and waiting to see what he did next: if she had to take another shot, she would. If not...
... and then she spotted the strange plant boy tearing off a piece of his hair to throw in the bag. She just stopped and stared at that, half confused and half disgusted. Unless he knew something she didn't, she didn't really see how poor hygiene was going to help stop the bag from gobbling up the rest of the area.
"Hey, what the --" she started, before... it worked. For once, she found herself at a loss for words that wasn't helped any by the revelation that he'd grown an entire forest inside that little bag. Things were only made worse when, just as she was starting to reason out the situation to herself, the ogre got sucked inside the bag and he -- and the strange bag -- vanished in thin air.
"But--" she stammered, staring blankly.

He did it! He did it! He prevented the city from imploding! That was all Synthesia. It was his wit and quick thinking that saved the city from imminent destruction. That was what he would write on the incident report. Just as Synthesia thought he was done here, the red boy walked over and tied a rope around the bag, keeping it closed enough. "Wow! You're pretty good at taming that bag. Maybe with a little more training and time you could even join the Pride Troopers!" Synthesia finished his statement with a wink and a thumbs-up.
Then he was sucked into the bag and it dissipated into nothing.
Well, that didn't seem like it was supposed to happen. He stared at the air for a second, puzzled, before approaching the spot where the bag dissapeared. He walked around the spot, feeling it out, trying to sense what may have just happened. There was nothing, though- no trace of the red boy or the bag. The only thing left to prove that he was even there was the damage to the area around them, which wasn't all too bad, but was still something Synthesia would need to take care of. At some point.
Synthesia then turned to Ramen, then back to the bag. Weren't they fighting? It was a pretty short fight, if so- the redhead was strong, but the little red guy seemed like he could at least stand up to her. As evidenced by the lack of evidence, though, it seemed that wasn't the case. Synthesia pointed towards Ramen, then back to the spot the bag was. Then back to Ramen. He furrowed his eyebrows. "Did... did you do that? I definitely didn't do that."

It took staring for several more, long moments before Ramen finally snapped out of it enough to process what had just happened. The little alien boy had been there a moment ago. And then, he got sucked up into his own bag. And then he teleported. Or the bag teleported him. Or... something. Okay, maybe she couldn't really process it, but at least the initial shock was beginning to wear off.
She stepped over to where the boy had been, fanning her fingers out and swiping at the air as if expecting to find the bag concealed in mid-air. But her hand passed by without a trace of anything. She couldn't even sense anything, and she had it on good authority that her senses were rather well-attuned. At least to ki.
"No..." she answered Synthesia. She bit down on her bottom lip and began to pace around the area, gears turning in her head. She was utterly puzzled at this whole predicament, and time was proving a poor remedy. "He's... gone. Just gone. But we didn't kill him, and we closed the bag... didn't we? He was there and then it sucked him up. But it's just some dumb artifact, how did it vanish?"
"... this must be some sort of trick. He must have done that on purpose and he was just trying to play a game with us." She offered a firm nod along with her words, but any attempt to sound confident was thoroughly undermined by the uncertainty clinging to her every word.

Synthesia heard Ramen out, a bit too spooked at his current predicament to actually argue with her. Was this boy just playing around? He didn't really seem like the type- from what little Synthesia had seen, anyways. Something was up with that bag, too. Even among magical artifacts, it was pretty peculiar. A bag of infinite space.
Synthesia's eyebrows furrowed again. He ducked his head and removed his Ruby Pendant from his head, holding it in his hands with a curious gaze. It was probably something like this, right? Synthesia looked to the Ruby, then to Ramen. Back to the Ruby, back to Ramen. If his Ruby and that bag were similar, then maybe this would be a good test run?
Then again, he really, really didn't want to hand over his Ruby. To anyone, but much less to someone like this insufferable redhead. That reminded him, he didn't actually know her name- that'd probably be useful information. That aside, Synthesia didn't really know what second steps to take at this point. Something lived inside of that ruby. As for what, Synthesia wasn't entirely sure- but whatever it was, it was co-operative and levelheaded. Synthesia and whatever was in there worked in tandem with one-another- but it wasn't always like that with magical objects.
"Hey, uh, I might have an idea, whatever-your-name is." He tossed the Ruby to the redhead with a light underhand toss. "Put that on, then tell me how you feel. Just, uh, trust me on this. I have a bad feeling about what might be in that kid's bag..." Synthesia wasn't sure if she'd actually do it, but hey, worth a shot.

Ramen caught the ruby when it was tossed to her, but gave the boy a rather dubious look at that. She held up the ruby to the light to peer at it a bit more closely. It reminded her somewhat of another artifact she had seen used in the past, but given this one was in the possession of an evil plant, she assumed it at least operated differently. The smart thing would have been to throw the ruby back -- no, the smart thing would have been to just destroy it and fly away. But in the interest of cooperation, she begrudgingly nodded and slipped the ruby up and over her head, allowing it to settle around her neck. Almost immediately, she felt a strange sensation come over her. Garbled noise rang through her ears, like a dull roar just far enough away that she couldn't make out, but close enough that she could make something out. But that wasn't the biggest shock. No, that was when her eyes seemed to glaze over and her sight turned as red as the pendant hanging from her neck. "This thing," she stated, dryly. "Is dangerous. I don't know where you got this or what's making that horrible noise, but you'd better be careful with it."Slowly, Ramen began to be able to pick up something else -- like the ruby had opened her eyes to traces of new ki flowing around her. The usefulness of the item almost immediately dawned on her, but she couldn't quite discount the off-feeling it gave her. She reached up to tug at the string, already threatening to remove it. "Do what you're going to do now, because I'm not stupid enough to wear this thing for more than a couple of minutes."

It was really bothering Synthesia to not have that pendant around his neck. His hands fidgeted in place, and he was seemingly physically uncomfortable without it's presence. He needed it back around his neck- but he also needed to understand what it would do to someone who didn't know what it was, or didn't know how to use it.
The good news was that the redhead seemed to be herself. Well, mostly herself. She wasn't attacking him, she simply commented on how 'dangerous' it was. Dangerous to her, maybe, but Synthesia was a seasoned veteran! He could handle that pendant without any problems. Easy peasy.
Speaking of, he needed it back. He approached Ramen and grabbed the pendant, flicking it's string up and over her head with a quick wrist movement. He then placed the pendant back around his neck, letting out a sigh of relief as it dangled safely. He nodded a few times before cracking his knuckles, shifting his attention towards Ramen.
"So? How'd you feel when it was on?" Synthesia continued, looking pensive. "Did you hear any voices? Feel any stronger? Sense anything other than Ki around you? Describe what you were feeling." Synthesia sighed, kicking at the ground idly. "Depending on your answers, we might have a problem, or we might not. I dunno where that kid just vanished off to, but he has to be somewhere, right?" He shook his head. Of course, there was always the possibility that he was gone forever, but somehow, Synthesia doubted it. Magical items weren't so quick to turn on their owners so suddenly.
"That bag could cause some mass destruction if we just leave it with him. Especially if he can't control it." Synthesia nodded. "Well, we might not need to worry about it either way. So? How did it feel?"

"Hear voices?" Ramen repeated the question, giving the boy a rather blank expression. "Did that entire experiment have anything to do with what just happened, or were you just trying to figure out if your evil artifact was capable of hurting people over a short period of time?"
Although it wasn't entirely clear what that pendant was, wearing it was enough to confirm that it was quite unlike the one Kayen employed. At least, she assumed such: compared to this crazy overgrown shrub, Kayen was always reasonable and level-headed. Violent, maybe. But level-headed all the same. Whatever he was looking for in her answers would have to wait: she didn't trust him to begin with, and after experiencing that, she trusted him even less.
"If you want me to answer, then tell me what you're looking for and how it relates. Because I'm not giving you data to work off of for some corrupting rock. Like I said -- it's dangerous, and until you explain, I have to assume that you're dangerous too, given you're carting it around." She peered at him for a moment longer. "And I'm pretty sure you're addicted to it, too."

At Ramen's bold (and fairly accurate) proclamation, Synthesia gripped the stone and turned away slightly, as if protecting it from Ramen's gaze. "H-Hey! Am not! It's just... useful." He'd end it on that note. Yeah.
"If you must know, this rock comes from Fukurou Forest." Truthfully, the memory of the day he got the pendant was a little foggy, but he could still distinctly remember where it came from. "I'm a Nature Spirit. Of Fukurou Forest. There's a lot of magical stuff in that forest that would become problematic if it got into the wrong hands- fountains of youth, magical artifacts, stuff like that. The forest itself does a good job of hiding it's secrets, but I'm here just in case. This-" Synthesia held up his pendant. "-was a relic that was being kept in that forest grove. If I lost it, all the elder spirits would be mad at me, so I wanna make sure I have it on hand."
Synthesia crossed his arms, pouting. "It gives me more power and heightens my perception. I think it also might have a brain-enhancing effect, probably. It definitely makes me feel smarter when I use it. Like it's giving me advice, you know? Stuff like that." Synthesia picked up the rock from his neck and peered into his own reflection. "You said it was dangerous, so I'm sure you felt something too, right? It does some neat stuff!" He laughed off the dubious statement with a wave of his hand, returning his gaze to the enormously powerful redhead.
"See, lotsa magical items have minds of their own. If you don't know your way around magic, they might, y'know. Have some sway over you. I was thinking that maybe his bag was like that, since it, well, didn't do things a normal bag would do." Synthesia nodded, pointing to Ramen. "That's where you come in! Honestly, I dunno much about stuff like this, so I wanted to see how someone who wasn't attuned to magic interacted with a magical item. Maybe it'd help me figure out what was going on with that bag."
Synthesia then put his hand on his chest, nodding twice. "I gotta figure it out 'cause I'm a Pride Trooper, and he could cause damage! I'm not dangerous, I'm like, the best plant on this planet."

"It sounds like you're trying to talk circles around being addicted to some sort of strange, evil artifact," Ramen stated with a dull expression. Of all the things he could have said to try to assuage her suspicions, she managed to hit every nail on the head. Y'know, in the exact wrong ways. It's a strange rock from the forest that would be problematic in the wrong hands. It enhances the brain. It talks to him. It's dangerous and 'does neat stuff'.
Yeah, this guy was a real nightmare waiting to happen.
"I'm not sure how you're dancing around basic logic with this thing, but if you want to be a Pride Trooper, then try to work your problem-solving skills with your head and not with some shady rock you pulled out of a bush." She glanced back to where the ogre had disappeared, trying to think back over everything that had happened before they got sidelined talking about the brain-addling pebble.
"The bag probably had something to do with it, you're right about that much. I don't know what that black stuff was, but it teleported him seemingly against his will. So chances are, he's also tampering with artifacts he doesn't understand." She rolled her eyes before adding, as an unnecessary aside. "Maybe you two can hold a convention."
"The problem that I see is that if he was carting that bag around and using it at will, there's probably a good chance he was attuned to it. Maybe it was too strong for him to control, but I don't think this is a case of some untrained idiot playing with magic. I think it's a case of some trained idiot playing with magic."

"H-Hey, don't twist my words!" Proclaimed the plant, pointing an accusatory finger at the woman who's parents thought it was a good idea to name their child after a bowl of soup. "This thing is just fine with me. Besides, I'm plenty smart. Probably even smarter than you, actually." He didn't quite know how he drew that conclusion from their brief set of interactions, but then again, he didn't remember how he came to dislike the redhead, either. Well, he supposed it didn't really matter, now.
"A-And, sure, I guess you have a point." He'd concede that much to her. Only that much, though. "Still doesn't make sense why it chose to, like, malfunction or something now. He could control it fine before he powered up. Doesn't seem like it makes any sense how he could control it less the stronger he got." Ah, there was his intellectual superiority! He knew that he left it somewhere. Synthesia didn't really understand how people lost control when they got stronger- it seemed like it'd be the opposite, honestly. But then again, Synthesia hadn't ever screamed out in rage and expel a plant-y aura into the air as the sanity left him. Maybe it'd be fun, if he did. He'd remember to try that later.
But, with the duo having come to an agreeable solution, there was the question of what exactly to do about it. Synthesia thought for a moment, considering his options. There was always the Godsquad he could consult. Most of them knew how to use magic, and he'd even venture to guess that some of them knew who that red child was, directly. A lot of them did a good job of getting around, after all."Maybe I can just, leave this to Nashi, or something..." Synthesia mused, not bothering to hide the fact that he would unflinchingly shove his work onto Nashi, had the cat given him the consent to do so. But then again, that was a terrible idea.
"I have a couple friends who dabble in magic. I could talk to them, unless you have a better idea on how to find him." Man, he was on a roll today! No way she had a better idea than he did.
