Boy, was this air conditioning more enjoyable. It had fully set in on her body heat and cooled her off quite thoroughly by this point, so Nashua was much more easily able to relax and take a seat without worrying about sweating over everything. "Yeah, I can see why that kind of lifestyle would be appealing," she replied when Hale explained why he enjoyed living out in the desert. If one preferred a life of solitude, then, well, there were few better places to find such a thing than in the middle of a massive desert. "Well, uh, if you can tolerate the climate," she added. Nashua liked having alone time sometimes, like anyone would, but coming out to a scorching hot desert to enjoy some was not something that she was all that willing to do, herself. Though, perhaps that was what made it such an effective place to find solitude.
She shook her head when Hale asked if she minded him grabbing a drink. and watched with amusement as the Arcosian downed the cool liquid. It was strangely humanizing of the race to encounter one that was like Hale - every Arcosian that Nashua had met up to that point had either acted with malicious intent or tried to kill her or a friend. It kind of painted the race in a whole new light or her, in some ways. Maybe they weren't all bad - or even mostly bad. Though, when Hale asked her if she had any questions for him herself, there was one that did come to mind. "Um, well," she started. How did she frame this without sounding like she was racist against Arcosians..? "I guess I do have one question, though I'm not sure if you know how to answer it, really."
"Basically, I've met uh, a lot of Arcosians. And, uh, basically all of them have tried to kill me, or someone I know. And a lot of them have killed people I know." She began to fidget with her fingers, before sucking it up and finally getting to the actual question. "So, uh, do you know why that is? Like... Why Arcosians tend to be so cruel? I know you're a lot nicer, and I don't like to think of you as the exception to a rule, but... Man, does it seem like it's a rule."

His body seemed to regulate fairly quickly regardless of the outside temperature, and despite how cool it was inside the ship, it didn't feel so different that Hale was more or less comfortable than he was before. He could see pretty clearly that Nashua however was just about ready to melt into her seat with how much more comfortable she was, and it was just a reminder of how different his race was than most. Giving a bit of a nod and a slight chuckle, he rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah the climate isn't an issue thankfully. The only real problem is I can't exactly get cable out here or any radio channels even for the most part. So it can get a bit too quiet at times." Between building and training Hale didn't really give him much time for anything else anyways as of late, but sometimes even a bit of music was nice to break up the silence of the desert.
Halfway through his drink he looked over and noticed Nashua looking at him and raised a brow, but didn't give it much thought, giving a loud "aaaah" and looking around for somewhere to toss the now empty bottle. He looked back over to Nashua and tried not to stare in between his thoughts, but he couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her head. Nearly every Saiyan he had met had out right attacked him, knocked him out without provocation, or made some sort of borderline racist remarks. Clearly he had grown up being told how bad they were, but he didn't see them as evil as much as violent and a bit hard to trust in his experience. Perhaps she was an exception, or perhaps he was just looking in the wrong places as far as Saiyans went. His head turned quick as she spoke up once more, pulling him from a stray thought. "Well, ask away. I'll try and answer if I can."
Despite any fears she might have had of offending or coming off racist, the question was kind of a refreshing one. He couldn't say she wasn't assuming a lot about him but no one ever bothered to ask instead of just glaring daggers through him. "If it makes you feel any better I've met a lot of Arcosians too, and plenty of them have also tried to kill me or someone I know. I can't imagine that paints a happier picture for you about my race, but I know what we are and what we can be. Though I suppose you know full well what your race is capable too, so I would think to a degree we both have stereotypes around our races based in more fact than fiction at times." All he could manage was a sigh, his face falling somber, "For the most part Arcosians want power, not necessarily in the physical sense, but so many will do anything to get it, and that can in a lot of ways include killing. They have little empathy even for their own kind, and I was lucky not to have to grow up around it like some. I've been away from Arcose longer than I grew up there, and I haven't gone back for a good reason." His eyes fell to the floor of the ship, leaning up against a wall. "So really it just comes down to the way people there are raised. You have to work and you have to work hard for what you get because there is no help in a lot of cases. You are taught young to fight, lie, steal, strategize, bully, really whatever it takes to get yours because no one is going to give it to you otherwise. Sure not every Arcosian is some backstabbing liar, but there are plenty that would toss a hundred men into a pit of fire to gain an inch of ground. The fact is, I've met...", holds up his hand and mentally counts, then held his hand towards her, "Maybe three Arcosians in the past twenty years that I felt I could trust, and one I'm still not sure of. Two of those I met in the past month. One of those I'm not sure of, but he seemed more clueless than mean spirited." Looking back up finally and dropping his hand. "So believe me, I get where you are coming from."

Nashua was actually quite eager to hear what the Arcosian's answer was, as reluctant as she may have been to ask the question in the first place. Hale seemed like the first of the space lizards she could really trust to not slam dunk the side of her face into the sand while activating his most powerful form and bulking out his muscles, so the Saiyan was definitely going to take advantage of that. She was surprised to hear that Hale himself had been nearly killed by his own kind on numerous actions, though when he mentioned that Saiyans weren't exactly known for being peaceful and reasonable, Nashua let loose a bit of a meek chuckle. "Heheh, yeah, I guess that's, uh, true," she replied. The history of the Saiyan Kingdom was certainly mostly written in blood, but she hoped in time that their hands would wash of most wrongdoings.
Hearing more about Arcosian culture straight from the source was definitely interesting, though. Nashua's head was poised in thought as Hale recounted how vile and cruel the society on Arcose had been as a whole, and it started to make sense why all those lizards were so bitter and cruel. Nashua herself had been lucky to have a more tender upbringing, even among most Saiyans, so she could imagine that without that source of warmth, one's heart would surely become cold and unfeeling after long enough. "That sure doesn't sound like a great environment to grow up in at all," Nashua commented once Hale had finished, her hand raised to her chin as she fell deep in thought. Maybe the best way to get through to these guys was to help them figure themselves out rather than going over and trying to blow them up.
Before she could say anything more, though, Nahua's scouter blipped as an incoming message came in. "Oh, sorry, one sec," she said to Hale as she read what had just come in. "Oh geez, uh, I think I gotta go," she said suddenly as she stood up. She looked around the ship, and then up at Hale drinking his water. It'd be rude to just kick him straight out, right? And she could fly faster than her ship could, so... "Uh, I don't wanna kick you out since you're enjoying that drink, so you just stay here and I'll come pick up my ship later, that sound good? Great! Make sure no one steals it, it was nice to meet you, bye!" Nashua spoke faster than her mind usually even processed thoughts, before dashing out the door and rocketing off into the great unknown.

His attention was all over the place between the conversation, memories, and how cool he thought this ship was. He had come to Earth stuffed into a pod with a second person awkwardly, and it had long since been scrapped for parts. The joy of coming to a planet will little currency meant you had to do some less than fun things to survive, and selling a ship for scrap metal happened to have been one of them. When Nashua suddenly explained the had to leave his mind snapped out of all of his thoughts and he looked over with a mixture of concern and confusion. "You okay? Need me to come with?" The way she looked around seemed a step below frantic as she was clearly in an actual hurry to leave, and that was even more obvious given her next few statements suddenly.
"Wait you, oh well yeah it was nice to meet you and everything! I'll take care of it!" By the time she had flown off he was still standing in her ship, really having no idea what to do with it.
------------------------------
Three hours later Hale was flying Nashua's ship over the desert doing tricks and screaming as he couldn't get it to stop flying upside at one point. He spent the next week taking her ship around anywhere he needed to go as if it were his own like a teenager on Earth with their first car. By the time Nashua would have returned for it, Hale had landed the ship on top of his tower and had installed an entrance at the top of the tower to get onto it.
Oops, kind of forgot I wanted to make a thread exit on this one playing with your ship :P So feel free to ignore this.
