PERSONALITY: Kyorak has the heart of a warrior and the battle lust his race is known for. Not one the back down from a fight, he had been known to often push himself to the very limit and has had some very close calls because of it. Seeing the saiyans flee after the arcosian invasion of Planet Vegeta left him with a bad taste in his mouth and has only served to reinforce his sense of pride and honor.
Kyo is driven to defend what he believes is right, but also understand a sense of duty. One could say he has a very traditionalist saiyan attitude of might makes right. He wouldn't directly go against a superior, but is not above challenging an order he doesn't agree with if there is the chance he can win the combat that saiyan honor would dictate is to come.
When it comes to other races Kyo cares mostly about how strong the opponent is more than anything else. Good, evil, it doesn't matter. What matters is the fight. In Kyo's mind you can tell more about a person and their intent from how they carry themselves in battle than you ever could having a conversation. While, like many of his race, there is some animosity for the arcosians he is more inclined to give one a change to prove themselves in combat than give into immediate prejudice. Is is when it comes to his fellow saiyans that the warrior becomes the most critical. A saiyan should uphold the epitome of honorable combat. While fight "dirty" is neither here nor there, fighting dishonorably is difficult for Kyo to forgive. He also finds it difficult to care for the strength or opinions of his tail-less brethren. After all, there is no more permanent reminder of failure than a saiyan without a tail.
BACKGROUND: Kyorak, as any low-class in the big city, grew up in the Radditsu District of Cacumber Capital. In centuries past he would have been sent off to conquer some small back water world at birth in the name of whoever was exerting their influence over the proud race of warriors. Reform in saiyan social structure has seen the end of those days. Instead destined to be a rank and file soldier in an army that had no active enemies much of his early life was spent training in battle techniques that had been passed down since some of the earliest generations of saiyan warriors. In truth, he found it dreadfully dull, seeing no point in learning to fight if there was no one to fight. Still, his saiyan battle lust burned and he pushed his limits day after day.
Then the day of the saiyan people's greatest shame and humiliation came. The day the Arcosians returned with their World Trade Fleet. The invasion force came in fast, there had been little time to prepare. Though they fought fiercely in the end they were unprepared. Perhaps it was because of the strength of there opposition. Perhaps it was the complacency they saiyan's had grown to have in the years without war. In the end many of the once proud warrior race were forced to flee, running with their tails between their legs. Kyorak was not one of the ones so lucky as to have that opportunity.
Life was hard for the survivors. Many were forced into meaningless job to keep them from revolting. Some of the stronger captives were sent either off-world or the far reaches of the planet where they wouldn't be a threat to their new overlords. Kyo wasn't considered a threat, having been a low-born soldier, and placed into a dead end manual labor job tearing down some of the older, dilapidated buildings in Radditsu by hand. They were told it would build character and raise planetary value. Not that Kyo cared about any of that. Still it was better than running in his opinion. Saiyan's weren't allowed to fight and train under Arcosian rule. Clearly they had learned their lessons in the past letting the “little monkeys” get ideas of power. Even so, Kyorak had a solution. Prior to the invasion he had acquired a technique that would allow him to split his power into two versions of himself. While one would continue tearing down buildings, his other half would steal away to the Saiba Wastes and spend time honing his skills. Hoping someday the revolution would come.
And come it did. Without warning or fanfare his people returned. The World Trade Fleet could barely react to the carnage that was wrought by the rampaging Great Apes. Suddenly the oppression of the Arcosians was over, replaced again with the Saiyan Kingdom. Many of the scattered saiyan forces began returning home and life settled back into a semblance of freedom and normality that Kyo hadn't seen since before the invasion. The warrior joined in the effort to rebuild. Afterall, he had been forced to assist in tearing it down. With the future of the kingdom still up in the air, Kyo was certain of one thing though. He would keep getting stronger, if only to never have to watch his people run again.
