Hale hadn't through himself much of an architect let alone much of a builder, but with the help of a few and a lot of long days he had managed to gain some headway in building his new home. Now standing three stories tall, still no paint, but partially furnished and the first story fully powered, it was coming along quickly. It was time for a break, and more importantly it was time for a bit of training, and what better way to get the blood flowing than a good desert fight? Sliding on his knock off scouter that was little more than a cell phone, he started flipping through his contacts trying to see who might care enough to come this far out, and remembered someone he had met not all that long ago that he was at least curious about.
Pacing around as he heard a ring, then what sounded like voice mail pick up, he grumbled to himself before reaching up to hang up. A second call went through as he started up he pacing again but again to no avail as he started to leave a bit of a trail in the sand as number after number just ended up with a busy person or a voice mail. The last number was one he wasn't sure about how interested they would be coming out here regardless of the situation, mostly because he had only met them once, and it was barely in passing, but it was worth a try. Unfortunately, it was yet another voice mail, but by this point he was determined to get someone out here, and he figured leaving a message might prove more helpful than hanging up. "Hey Nashi, this is Hale. We met not long ago, and I suppose you may remember me though might have forgotten exchanging contact information. Uh, hm, well anyways, I'm looking for a training partner today and I'm not sure how your schedule is looking, but if you are interested then, well...I'm sending you a location you can find me." With a press of a button he hung up still grumbling to himself and walked back over to the house to grab his proper phone and sent a quick text, tossing the headset and phone on his couch and plopping down next to both.

South City, of all the cities, was the one in the south. Also, it rhymed with ‘Mouthity’. And that was basically the sum of it.
South City, frankly, was boring. He’d seen all the sights and he’d eaten all the ights. He’d ticked off just about everything that the tourist websites could recommend, and quite a good deal of nonsense that they didn’t. So when Nashi was sure that he had seen all that the city had to offer, he was quite sure he was right in that regard. And, he was.
But he hadn’t seen everything in everything. He hadn’t, for example, seen much of Diablo Desert. This was because he hadn’t seen any of Diablo Desert, with a possible exception being any of those times he could have feasibly seen Diablo Desert. That all changed, however, when—
Dingo! Dungo, diddily-duddily-ding-dong! Check your phone you dingus!
Oh hey it’s my Zphone. He got one of those free ringtone apps and selected that option because he thought it was the funniest ringtone. It was becoming a lot less funny quite quickly indeed.
It was Hale! You know, the wrestling space lizard! And he wanted to sp— well, he said he wanted to train, but asking a fighter to train was almost certainly just an invitation to spar.
He’d send a message in return:
I’ll be right over!
”Er, OK, how’d I do this…” he clicked on the attached address, which redirected him over to the Bing Maps app. It brought him to… no, that can’t be right. He scrolled out to be sure, and waited a few moments to wait for the internet to nudge the icon to somewhere where people actually lived but, alas, that moment never came.
... Diabo Desert!? But… that’s so… hot, and desert-y!
...
Aw, shucks.
If Muscle Tower had a doorbell, it was rung. If Muscle Tower did not have a doorbell, it would be knocked. If Muscle Tower did not have a door, Nashi would knock on the wall. If Muscle Tower did not have a wall, it was particularly ill-suited to being a Tower in a desert.
Anyway, point being, he got there.

Hale was surprised by how quickly he had gotten a response to his text as the call went to voicemail, but perhaps he was simply busy and couldn't answer. It was as most days were, an uncomfortable one out in the desert and Hale was, as he had been for weeks now, working on his project home. What started out as a terrible looking box of a building was now a four story building going straight up, every floor slightly smaller than the next, becoming his intended tower slowly but surely. It still wasn't pretty, and only the bottom floor was anything resembling furnished, but it at least had windows, and there was a front door instead of a door shaped hole. His lack of energy sensing didn't alert in to Nashi finally heading his direction, but the lack of any sounds aside from his own and the occasional blowing of sand in the wind did however. By the time he heard it he was already walking up and knocking around on the door, the wall, and, and making his presence fairly well known, but Hale was up top so instead of coming out he simply flew down behind him and landed.
"Heya, glad you found the place. You'd be surprised how many people get lost just trying to find this place. It's probably a bit easier now that this building is getting a bit taller and it isn't just me standing alone in the desert hamming on a giant slab." He eyed Nashi for a moment and looked around behind the two of them as if looking for something. "Well I guess I'll just get to it. I asked you out here cause, well I need a training partner. I guess more specifically a sparring partner but one in the same. I shouldn't assume your strength to be fair, and I have no way of knowing aside from bluntly asking, so perhaps that would have been a better first step."

Getting to even as far as Nashi got was tough enough as is. He was flying through the desert for a period of what couldn’t have been any more than twenty minutes, way above the sands radiating back the heat of the sun, and all the same it was a struggle. Nashi was aware that some types of cat were well suited to arid, hot environments, like some types of lynx, but he was also aware that some lynxes were well-suited to cold environments and he wasn’t happy in a biome like that either. Frankly, the sooner he got inside, the better. The air was thick, like an luke-warn thickshake.
Each layer of this tower thing-o was less wide than the last. If this trend continued (Nashi didn’t know the tower wasn’t finished as it was), he imagined it’d taper to a point, much like a pyramid. Nashi then wondered if his usage of ‘taper’ was correct (which it was). Point being, the building had a definite maximum perceptible height from the ground, unlike his own Tower, which was way cooler.
”Ggaahahahh!” Despite all of Nashi’s ringing, Hale ended up behind him. ”Gee, Hale, ya spooked me!” Hale, being big, muscley and vaguely reminiscent of a lizard or snake, was quite spooky if you weren’t expecting to see him where he popped up. ”Hmm? Oh, nah, it was fine. I just used Bing Maps.” Bing Maps, the mapping software owned by Bing, a search engine named after the hero of earth from centuries ago. It’s surprising, how good the service is flying at multiple times the speed of sound in the middle of the desert.
Hell yeah, Hale recognised the sparring inherent in training with others. If ‘training’ with others was effectively the same as sparring, then why use the word ‘sparring’ at all? Prolly ‘cos it sounded cool.
Huh… what IS my Power Level? Once, before he died, when he went to an amusement park, he tried one of those ‘Test your Power’ machines that told you your PL based off of how long you could last holding a bar which got continually heavier. Nashi tried it, but stopped soon after the dial didn’t do beyond ‘999’ on its three-character thing-o. Beyond ‘more than or equal to 999’, he really had no idea. ”It’s real big.” A safe assumption to make, from his perspective. ”Maybe you should punch me and I’ll tell you our relative strengths? Maybe?” he wasn’t confident in his ability to gauge strength from a punch. ”Or, perhaps I should punch you?” He didn’t know how powerful Hale was, but he didn’t want to embarrass him in his own home. He was a wrestler, sure, but weren't those wrestling shows 'fake' anyway?
”… Where we gonna spar, anyhow?”

"Sorry about that bud", giving a somewhat muffled laugh as he found that far funnier than he probably should have. He gave a bit of a nod and a thumbs up in response, though gave a full blown snort at the /It's real big/ response to his power level. "Okay, well that's fair. I guess I'm trying to figure out the middle ground of people walking around with the seemingly mystical powers to sense power levels and walking around with headsets that can read that, and those like us who just know we can strong real good." Hale just blankly stared for a moment at Nashi's solution to the problem, not because it was dumb, but because it sounded more like something he would have suggested and it through him off hearing it from someone else.
"That could go in all sorts of interesting directions I imagine. Though the question there is, are we doing this in our suppressed forms? Do humans even have suppressed forms? Do you have a transformation? Huh, I didn't think this through. Is that even rude to ask? I have NOT thought this much about any of this before.", standing and scratching his chin with a tilted head." Thankfully Nashi brought up another question that Hale could momentarily distract his thoughts with, and simply turned around and gave a waving point out to the desert. "Well we have all the open space here we would need. As long as we don't go messing up this building then we don't have anything or anyone to worry about, unless those idiot bandits decide to show up." Tapping the middle of his forehead in thought, he looked back at Nashi. "Let's try that testing our powers thing first. I'm sort of curious now."

Nashi could strong very good. He could strong the best! Well, not quite the best, but it was true in the category of blue feline hybrids.
The Senbyō could not sense energy. It all seemed so silly: why bother trying to sense the energy of an opponent you’re going to defeat regardless, when you could put that energy into some more useful training, like whacking attacks away or maintaining ki spears for extended periods? Scouters were sorta lame, too. They were just Zphones that went over your eye, basically, and that energy-sensing function didn’t seem especially useful either. After all, if you were going to be fighting, why wear something so fragile? It just didn’t make sense to the cat.
Nashi shook his head. ”I don’t have any other forms. There’s just… me.” When he balanced the Throat Chakra, his power permanently reached a point higher than it could go before. It was a permanent transformation and was truly permanent, only to be added on with the balancing of additional gates (and that was a ways away).
Nashi did not know about the multiple forms of the Arcosians. He understood that some people could transform, which he likened to the increased power he once got by caving in to instinct, but had not made any manner of connection that these transformations were based on race, nor that the transformations of the Arcosians were anything of note. He did not know that the Monster Form would be a good match for him, but he also certainly didn’t know anything about Hale’s opinion of it. His Brute Form simply was half Nashi’s strength, and his True Form was a bit over. He did not know it, but this posed a noteworthy problem.
”Hmm? Oh, OK! Yeah, sure, just let me… er…” After a bit of indecision, he decided to punch the right side of Hale’s chest as, presumably, like most Earthlings, his heart was on the left side. Nashi certainly didn’t want to accidentally cause any real harm to a friend! ”Here comes a standard-power punch™!” Nashi would punch at the intended area with the standard force, nothing being held back! Depending on what Hale felt from that, he may decide what form to change into. That is, if he changed it at all. ”You OK? Dya wanna start?”

Hale gave a heavy turn of his head as if he was truly confused by what the human said. "No more forms? Hm, I have like three of them, wait four of them. Or was it two? Okay well it doesn't matter how many I guess." He shrugged heavily and took a bit of a defensive stance as he waited to see what Nashi might do, and saw him moving as if getting ready for a punch and nodded. He was half-expecting the attack to hurt but not accomplish much, given he was considerably more muscular and likely taller than Nashi, so clearly he was stronger. The force of the punch had another story to tell as Hale went near flying back, doing a full backward tumble and landing flat on his back with his arms and legs stretched out. "Ow...", was all he quietly said.
His eyes were staring up into the sky for a moment, then slowly drifting over to Nashi, wondering what kind of strength he had to do that with what he called a standard punch. It was in his moment of staring and trying to find some excuse as to why Nashi was so much stronger than he was that he noticed his tail, and more specifically the color. How had he not noticed the blue tail sticking out of the back of this guy before? Maybe he wasn't human at all! "Hold on for just a second", raising up arms up as he slowly stood, facing Nashi. "I just have to ask, why do you have a tail? A blue tail. Are you some sort of Saiyan?" There were only two types of people he knew with tails; Arcosians and Saiyans. His eyes went wide as he stared. He had heard rumors or Saiyans that changed hair colors and their power increased and they were...what was it called? "Are you a Super Saiyan?" His stare fixed on Nashi with his eyes as wide as they could have been. This had to be it, Nashi was a Super Saiyan! How else did his punch do so much damage?! Hale assuredly would have transformed, but his mind was so wrapped up in the fact that he had convinced himself he was just punched by the legendary blue haired Super Saiyan.

”Oh, sorry! I—” He couldn’t say ‘I didn’t know you were so weak’, that’d be insulting! ”I don’t know my own strength.” There we go, that was proper. But, perhaps not even that would have been the best thing to say. Hale wasn’t objectively weak, and Nashi wasn’t objectively strong. PL did not matter in a vacuum; to give it meaning, you had to compare it. Nashi didn’t know how comparatively strong he was.
”A Saiyan?” He heard that term before from somewhere. It was— yes, that’s it! As Nashi unstood it, they were an ethnic group of Earthlings similar to humans that tended towards dark hair/eyes and tail-having, which was certainly something he could get behind (and literally, too). Nashi actually had two blue tails, which must have meant that he was a double-Saiyan. ”A Super Saiyan?” Never mind, not a double-Saiyan. The two tails must have meant that he was some sort of… Super Saiyan 2. He didn’t know what a ‘Super Saiyan’ was, really, but Nashi’s interpretation of Hale’s wording seemed to imply they were Saiyans with blue tails and presumably also hair/eyes. That meant that all a ‘Super Saiyan’ was was a person with a blue tail and features. Meaning… ”Why, yes, I am the Super Saiyan! Come on now, test your mettle! Hit me, if you can!”

Hale had barely caught the comment in his sheer awe of this new revelation. "That, is AWESOME!" Hale screamed out at him, looking reinvigorated suddenly and had for the most part shaken off the attack. It still stung, but his mind was simply not letting him comprehend anything past standing in front of something he had only heard rumors of. His face slowly turned from shock and awe to a large grin spreading as far across his face as was physically possible. "Oh this is going to be fun!" kicking his feet around and jumping up and down for a moment almost like an excited kid.
Clearing his throat and shaking his body a bit he looked as if he were trying to look serious, the grin disappearing and being replaced with at least a fake version of a serious face. His body turned to face away from Nashi for a moment as he stared at the sand completely still, then rather dramatically turning and pointing towards Nashi with wide eyes. "You! You have come to match muscles with me, you have proven yourself worthy to be the first to ever force me to use this form. For years I kept it a secret and refused to use it, but now the time has come! I warn you, this won't be pretty." What Nashi didn't realize is that he was being rather literal, as nothing about this transformation was about to be attractive. Standing in his best estimation of a stereotypical transformation and powering up pose, Hale began to scream as his energy swirled around him with a dark green tint that pushed the sand into a tornado swirling in the ki. Hale's head slowly rose as his eyes locked onto Nashi, and the smile forming on his face didn't look like any he had shown before. Spikes began to grow from Hale's shoulders, two from either side of the top of his head, and his body began to become more rigid than smooth and rounded.
His body continued to shift as it grew near double in size, though just short of the bulk of his Brute Form, and it was completely different than any of the other sleek transformations Hale had otherwise. The Arcosian standing in front of Nashi looked more like a creature off the art cover of a Metal album, and the roaring scream Hale bellowed out after his transformation completed fit the scene just as well. There were no snarky comments or pleasantries, just a blank stare towards Nashi with that same unnerving grin.

Perhaps, usually, Nashi would have erroneously assumed that Hale was being completely literal. Being the genius that he was, Nashi realised that ‘it’ not being ‘pretty’ wasn’t a literal statement of fact, but an indicator of the coolness to come. Perhaps it was for the best that it actually meant both.
Hale’s height increased by a factor of two, and his power by twice that. He grew spikes like one of the villains from Nashi’s cartoons, and roared like a terrible beast! If Nashi hadn’t known precisely who this was, he would have for sure assumed he was some manner of villain. ”Oh, wow.” It was quite a transformation. Is this something all Arcosians can do? It seemed so strange, that those of certain species could have other forms that seemed just as natural, and yet differed so greatly in power. Do Earthlings have anything like that? And, no, Saiyans (which Nashi understood to be a type of Earthling) didn’t count. ”I almost feel as if we have to reintroduce ourselves now.” But they weren’t going to, because that’d be stu—”So, hey, I’m Nashi!” Damnit, Nashi. ”And here’s my fist!” He’d go for the same punch as before: the same power directed to the same place.
Hopefully, Hale could handle it now.

At Nashi's introduction, Hale just gave a bit of a growl, then roared loudly in his direction. It wasn't as if Hale was so far from his other forms that he was unrecognizable, but there was something about that form that seemed to feed his more primal side when it came to fighting. He fought like a wild animal he was told many times over, but he seemed to almost act more like one as well in this monster form as it was aptly named. The difference in power was minimal now, but the way Hale reacted was considerably different, not simply flexing and standing his ground waiting for an attack to come. a deep guttural growl came from his throat as the punch came towards him, but Hale dropped as if he were collapsing to the ground almost, catching himself with his hands before he landed and kicking up into Nashi's gut.

”—Ggeerhh!” Nashi flinched and revulsed as he was struck in the stomach, not at all expecting that kick to the gut. He stepped back to gain some space before smiling. ”Oh, this is better. I think we’re about even now, don’t you? So no holding back with my method of offence.” He brought the Power Pole into his hands, and into a defensive position. ”I haven’t given my style of staff-combat a name, but I suppose it is distinct and defined enough to have one. I haven’t thought up a name yet, but you’ll see what it can do first-hand!”
Still at a distance, Nashi would hold it so that, if it extended, the Power Pole would bonk into the Arcosian’s face. And then, with a thought, he extended it. To bonk into the Arcosian’s face. At full-force.

Hale's feet came back down and landed flat in the sand, rolling and getting back to his feet before putting distance between the two. "I don't think choosing to not hold back would prove a good idea", letting a slight grin fall onto one side of his face. "We are even in power now, but...", choosing to trail off and purposely leave Nashi to wonder. Both of his hands raised, showing off the long nails before grasping both into tight fists and lowering himself with one fist punching the sand, much like the stance of an angry gorilla. He was curious to a degree about the weapon Nashi was holding, but he didn't think much of it aside from it was like some of the other weapons he had seen, like Nashua, and much like hers it seemed as if it could give some extra distance in a fight that could prove annoying.
Most of his fights took place with him on offense, but Nashi seemed to fight in a similar fashion, choosing offense over defense, and as the poll seemed to unnaturally extend, leaving Hale on the defensive once more. His first instinct was to charge in but his footing in the sand caused him to slip just enough for the pole to reach him long before he reached it. It was a bit too late to dodge at this point, and his only reaction was to attack the pole directly. His right arm came up and instantly started to glow green as he swung and attempted to punch it away, but only cause it enough to change it coming for his face, finding it still scraping down the left side of his face painfully, but much less so than it could have been.

”What the—?”
The Monstrous Hale managed to punch the Power Pole away! Yes, punch it! What sort of absolute madlad doesn’t dodge an staff, doesn’t deflect it, nor reflect it, but punch it?! But as unorthodox as the ‘defence’ was, it certainly worked. After all, look at all those muscles! Nashi was in awe of the size of this lad, the absolute unit.
”No matter. There’s more where that came from!” Nashi would do a spinning kick jump, hopefully pushing off of Hale with a mid-air kick to gain some more ground before immediately after charging up some energy. ”Blue Bro Ball!” The energy formed into a blue ball of ki, perhaps the size of a large instance of a small type of large small melon. In short, it was about as large as it was, and not a second warmer. He pegged it, full force, into about Hale’s mouth area! ”I call it the Blue Bro Ball. Care to guess why?”
Yeah, sure, it was because it was blue, a ball, and made by a brother, but also because of alliteration. Surely Hale understood the importance of alliteration.
The techniques fizzle! Do offensives and shields even fizzle? They prolly do, but if they don’t, the damage is negligible. Not sure where 34,650 came from?

"I would certainly hope so.", smirking and wiping his face where the staff had connected if even just barely, rolling and popping his neck. His arm was to his luck still raised as the kick came, not quite prepared for it despite it looking as if he were, and was knocked back a foot or so and took a few steps further. His plan was to put distance between the to much like Nashi was going for despite neither realizing this from the other, though they seemed to have different plans for why. Hale planted a foot to charge forward and nearly stopped instantly as he could see the energy charging, and more so heard what sounded like Nashi calling out the name of an attack. He wasn't the first he had do this to him, but it was always amusing how people shouted out like super heroes on earth television programs, and it was always the earthlings or those that lived here most of their lives that seemed to do it.
"Blue what now?", staring at the blue light ball, assuming sooner rather than later that was going to be thrown his direction. It sure was blue, and he could confirm it was also a ball. The bro part he couldn't really say much about, but it was most assuredly a blue ball, and it was also most assuredly coming right at his face. Despite how impressive the name was, and how blue it was, the alliteration was lost on him in the midst of not wanting to be hit square in the face with it, but his mouth opened wide all the same. Shortly before it would have went directly into the opening jaws a dark green energy looked to emanate from his throat and with a loud scream the energy poured out in a wide blast towards the ball and towards Nashi. In some form of trying to mimic or mock Nashi's yelling of his attack, Hale started to make some noises that wasn't even close to words, as his mouth was wide open "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" in one long syllable of screaming nonsense.
