There he sat, at the center of this ancient ruined temple that barely had a ceiling, walls, or doors. Yangcong always went to this temple due to how peaceful and quite it is and due to no one ever really finding the temple due to its secrecy. The location of the temple was just on the top of a mountain. He sat there as he had a foldable table right in front of him with a second chair right across from him empty. The table had a chessboard and on the chessboard had chess pieces that were set to ready to play a game. Fang stood beside Yangcong on his right side and just observing him just sitting there.
"Yangcong, why did you set up a chessboard with no one to play with? You know damn well I don't know how to play the game?"
Yangcong smirked and looked up to see Fang looking down at him puzzled.
"I won't be playing the game at all. I just decided to invite someone who happens to be on Earth to come to this location. She's one of the strongest saiyans in the army."
A letter being sent to Nashua's ship just ten hours before Yangcong arrived to the temple and decided to set up the game board. With his connections to the military and being an undercover cop, it wasn't hard to track down Nashua.
"How do you know she will even show up?"
Yangcong smirked as he gave Fang an exact copy of the note he sent her.
"Dear Nashua, the Saiyan Kingdom has requested that you show up to Big forrest mountain at the highest point possible. An old saiyan by the name of Yangcong would like to meet you regarding the history and the fate of the saiyan kingdom."
He wore his uniform of the saiyan kingdom and wore it proudly as he awaited her arrival.
The letter that Nashua had received had more than just one spelling error, and some weird capitalization choices, but she figured it wouldn't do her any harm to follow the instructions on it. Maybe whoever typed it up had just been in a big rush. Though, it was quite unusual to receive a summons by letter, usually it was a message through her scouter. Plus 'the Saiyan Kingdom' requesting her presence at a location wasn't exactly... Normal. But again, she didn't see the harm in listening to its somewhat vague instructions. She had never heard of this 'Yangcong' fellow, and was curious to meet him. It took a while to figure out where the heck 'big forest mountain' was, though. There were like, thousands of big forests and mountains on Earth. Eventually, she found a trace of two power levels on top of one inside of some big temple looking structure.
She dropped down gently from the sky outside the mostly collapsed structure, and wandered in, immediately spotting the Saiyan with long gray hair, standing next to a very tall beastlike creature. A zoanthrope, maybe? Or some kind of alien? "Uh, hello," she said as she neared them, her hands folded behind her back as the slow tap of her boots against the mossy cobblestone ground echoed throughout the quiet area, one of the only sounds aside from the wind rustling the leaves of all the surrounding trees. Once she was standing across from who she presumed to be Yangcong, she continued, "I'm Nashua, I received some kind of letter asking if I could come meet with you?" It might have felt more weird if she hadn't already had multiple strangers summon her for meetings in almost the exact same manner.
"I presume you're Yangcong?" she asked, eyeing him up and down. A quick scouter scan revealed his power level to be a very unimpressive and flat one hundred. Yeesh, and Ramen had thought Xana was too weak to be a proper Kingdom member. She glanced over at his beastly friend and scanned him, finding him at a slightly more potent level of 5,000, though it still wasn't much. Neither of them were threats to her life, that much was clear - unless they were suppressing their true power levels. But that seemed unlikely. Her golden eyes drifted down to the game of chess that was set up on the table in front of them, and the empty chair before her. "Did you want me to play with you or something? I'm sure there are uh, less remote places we could have met up to do that. They even have online chess now, it's pretty cool!"
Nashua had finally arrived and with Yangcong's arms to his back as he rose from his seat, he began to walk around her to inspect her. Fang already was holding her file in his hand and began to look at the picture which was on file and at her now. Fang nodded towards Yangcong and Yang stopped walking around her and now stood in front of her.
"Sorry for acting mysterious. We had to make sure you were Nashua. The same one that helped retake Planet Vegeta. And yes we could of chose a less remote place to meet and the letter was meant to be as vague as possible. We didn't want anyone to just break into your ship and steal it and then go to meet us. Thank you for coming. We are apart of the undercover saiyan kingdom. We are basically police officers that do undercover work for the Kingdom. While you lot are fighting on the field, we are doing work that doesn't involve fighting most of the time and if it does, its most from those who aren't strong.
We help shape and change the world Nashua, but let me ask you this question and the real reason as to why I brought you over here. Tell me something, do you know an individual by the name of Kayen and what is your opinion of her. and Do you know our king by the name of Vocado. I want to know your opinion about him as well."
The reason for this line of questioning, is so that he could get a feel on how she felt about the two, that if she served Kayen, then the meeting would be over with. However, if she fought for Vocado, then the meeting would be better and he could tell her the truth on what happened with Vocado.
Nashua just kind of... Stood there, as the old man walked up to her without a word and began to look her up and down without saying a word. "Um," she mumbled, her eyes trailing him as he walked around her. He was kind of odd, huh? She was beginning to question whether or not she should have actually worked so hard to figure out where the weird note was telling her to go when the old Saiyan finally spoke up. And he spoke up quite a mouthful. Nashua listened quietly with a slightly bemused expression on her face while Yangcong explained himself, furrowing her brows and tilting her head slightly at the mention of the 'undercover Saiyan Kingdom'. She'd been in the Kingdom her entire life - nearly twenty years - and had never even heard mention of such a faction within the Kingdom existing.
"Oookay," she slowly replied once he finished that part of his spiel. "I mean, I've never heard of you guys before, and I'm second in command of the entire Kingdom, so, uh, excuse me if I don't believe you entirely right off the bat." He and his friend already had gotten off to a weird start, so Nashua felt slightly apprehensive about their meeting. But she did feel more comfortable knowing that they wee far too weak to harm or kill her, even if they tried their absolute hardest. So, she didn't mind sticking around to see what they wanted, and didn't have much trouble obliging when she was asked her opinions on Kayen and Vocado. "Well, Kayen seems nice, I suppose," she began, "A bit ruthless, and maybe not someone I'd totally trust in a leadership position, but she doesn't seem like she's a totally bad person at heart."
"As for Vocado, well, I'd gladly lay my life on the line to help him! He's a bit reckless, I suppose, but he's a good and honest man who serves the Kingdom as best he can, so the least I could do is serve him the best I can." Once she'd finished, she looked up at Yangcong and folded her hands in front of her. "Was that all you called me here to ask? You could have easily messaged me on my scouter."
Yangcong was rather puzzled at the fact that she never heard of the undercover unit that worked on the kingdom's behalf. He raised a brow and began to whistle. Coming from the shadows of the temple, three more undercover operators and beings saiyans, wearing the uniform of the kingdom. One of them holding a laptop and walking over to Yangcong's direction as he nodded to the man and grabbed the laptop from him. After typing up in the search bar from an all black screen, he looked up his own name and turning the laptop over to show that he was in fact an undercover for the saiyan kingdom and that the picture of him was when he had a military type of haircut with black hair and no beard.
"That was me in my twenties. I was serving the second King during that time. During that time, it was more peaceful than it was now. Which is why the organization started around that time because there were no wars or violence of any kind, considering that the only threats we had were the common bandits or mercenaries. I'm not surprised you don't know about the organization, considering the amount of recent chaos we all have endured with the assault of planet vegeta. This organization was only founded recently through the times of peace. It isn't in any history book due to how recent it is."
Yangcong even pulled out his license and showed him on how he currently looks with his up to date license, along with his badge that comes from the Kingdom.
"Our job isn't to do what the kingdom normally does. Our job is to stop the criminals who aren't fighting on the field. But to stop the internal and external non violent cases."
Then it had move on to questioning her. Yangcong began to listen to her, watching to see if their was any deception in the tone of her voice. Fang did the same as he walked closer to pay attention to any deceptive body language that would come out from someone who was lying. After hearing on what she said about the matter, he agreed with Fang that she wasn't lying.
"We actually have some news to tell you.. I don't know if you heard, but King Vocado was dethroned and Queen Kayen now rules the Kingdom.... The reason we invited you here, is because you are a very strong individual and with your help. We can take her down..."
"Oh, uh, hello," Nashua said to the three men that suddenly appeared out of seemingly nowhere, complete with a laptop that they had set up to show her something. None of them said a word, though. Yangcong used the laptop to look himself up, and sure enough, up came some kind of database page thing that showed a much younger Yangcong, along with a bunch of different miscellaneous information about him. "Whoa, this thing is cool!" she exclaimed as she stepped forward and searched her own name. Sure enough, up popped a picture of her face, along with some mostly accurate biological information. "Wait, I'm five foot five, not five foot four! ...Although, maybe I am that tall without my boots." She half listened to what Yangcong was saying as she searched up a few of her other friends from the Kingdom.
Ramen's page was looking good, as was Cress', though she couldn't find one for Xana. Oh, wait, her full name was Xanathrozza - there it was! Alright, this thing had lost its novelty. Nashua stood up in time for Yangcong to flash some kind of I.D. badge in front of her, along with an actual badge. He sure was determined to convince her he was legit, huh? "Uh, okay, I believe you," she surrendered with a small chuckle. And then he moved onto the news, and it was pretty big news, too. "Wow, she won, huh?" she asked with only slight surprise. Honestly, she'd seen it coming- Kayen was both bigger, stronger, and the better fighter between the two Saiyans. Vocado could give her a run for her money, but it seemed unlikely that he'd have actually prevailed. She only hoped that Vocado had survived the fight, though she had a feeling he was at least tough enough to have pulled through.
"Can't say I didn't see that coming, to be honest. Though, I am curious with what she plans to do next..." Seemed she wasn't the only one who didn't have total faith in Kayen's rule, as she heard Yangcong's next proposition. "Wait, what?" she asked, flinching back slightly with sheer skepticism on her face. "What do you mean 'take her down', I don't wanna go assassinating queens! Sure, I'd have preferred Vocado take the throne, but don't you think it's smarter to wait and see where she takes the Kingdom than just immediately go trying to overthrow her?" Nashua paused for a couple of seconds, then reached back to lift her skirt slightly, showing the furry stump that rested at the base of her tailbone. "Besides, this is as strong as I can even get, ever since I lost my tail. Kayen would wipe the floor with me in her Oozaru."
Yangcong continued to stand tall and began to analyze her and when she made the comment of assassination, he had quickly raised a brow and began to explain himself on what he meant by it.
"Actually, assassination isn't what I was thinking... You see, Kayen is a criminal and has been for a decade or so, she comes from the Planet Raiti. Because I am a person in law enforcement, I make it my business to know the ins and out in just about anyone in the world. I knew about Fang before I even met the man. Just like you Nashua.
We know your strong, but if Kayen was able to defeat Vocado, then i don't see you being able to take her down. But here is why I brought you here. I want you, to befriend her. Become a loyal friend to her, gain information, see what she ends up doing to the Kingdom. In that way, we can see where the course of the saiyan kingdom will go to."
He walked towards the chess table and picked up the queen piece and showed it to Nashua.
"The Queen, the most powerful piece on the board game. It can do things that other pieces cannot do. So you have to ask yourself, how does one beat the Queen? You formulate a plan and trap the Queen so that no matter what she does, she will lose. However, the real world isn't like Chess, this isn't a game where lives can be taken at the expense of taking down the Queen. However, it still is possible to beat a powerful person. I have done so throughout my career and doing what I do best. Undercover work.
I don't want to give a history lesson since young folk tend to not care for them so, will keep it short.
The saiyan kingdom became peaceful because powerful leaders didn't want violence. That's just my opinion, but you have to ask yourself Nashua."
He grabbed a pawn from the table and tossed it over for her to catch it.
"We are all pawns in this world, the question you have to ask yourself. What piece will you become once you reach the end of life. If I die a pawn then so beat it, but for the Kingdom and for the sake of peace, I will do my role in achieving it. We can't allow criminals to take the throne, when we have the innocent to protect and a kingdom to look after."
Though Yangcong clarified assassination wasn't what he had in mind, any kind of shady business beneath the throne didn't sound too appealing to Nashua. She didn't know who 'Fang' was, but assumed it was the big lion zoanthrope guy that was standing silently nearby. He looked, uh, friendly? Nashua waited patiently as Yangcong walked over to the chess board he'd set up, and began using the pieces as some kind of metaphor thing. Kayen was the Queen, that made sense. The rest was mostly lost on Nashua, as she had never played the game herself, nor knew any of the rules or how the pieces worked. The old man made it sound like the queen was an important piece, though. Was there a king, too? He called the little pieces that looked like stanchions 'pawns', which sounded vaguely familiar to Nashua. Why were there so many pawns, though?
"Well, I mean," Nashua began when he had finally finished, though she didn't have the heart to tell him that his entire complex metaphor had just gone straight over her head. She was pretty sure she kind of got the gist of it, though. At least enough to know where he was going with it. "If you're part of the Saiyan Kingdom, then, uh, shouldn't you be serving the Queen? She might have a criminal past, but that's not say that guarantees she'll be bad at the job. She's definitely had lots of leadership positions before, so I'd say she's quite experienced." As for uh, hiring Nashua for espionage, Nashua wasn't sure he'd totally done his research on her after all. "Also, I'm kind of busy hunting for Dragon Balls right now. So I can't focus on working to dethrone someone, this is way more important."
She paused, and tilted her head with furrowed brows. "Also, you do realize I'm second in command of the Kingdom under the Queen, right? You're acting like I'm a common grunt who just happens to have some extra muscle, here." It was almost a little insulting, though she supposed maybe her notoriety hadn't quite reached every facet of the Kingdom yet, including Yangcong's whole undercover ops thing that she'd never heard of. "Just... Take it a little slower with the espionage plans, maybe? I'm not a hundred percent confident in her myself, but, don't you think it's better to wait and see what she actually decides to do with the Kingdom before planning against her? Who knows, she might end up being a great leader to us all."
Yangcong had sighed, sighed at the simple fact that she had trust in a criminal who has done evil deeds for over a decade. What she didn't realize was that Yangcong has been doing this line of work of criminal activity and aiding the Saiyan Kingdom through out the decades of his life. He casually turned away from her and looked over his shoulder at her and with a stare and facial expression of being serious, he couldn't hold in the silence.
"I wouldn't expect a 19 year old second in command of an entire army to understand this but."
"I was just like you once. A naive child and about your age as well. My father was an officer for the army before you were born. As a son, I always looked up to him and wanted to be just like him one day. However, one day he had went to work and didn't come back home. I come to find out that he had been betraying the kingdom for years. For someone who I have looked up to as a young lad, I was deceived by his title and the simple fact that he was my father. I knew you youngsters don't like speeches, but just remember this. Just because you have a good title next to your name, it doesn't change your morals as a person. Remember that young Nashua."
Even though the story that he had told her was a lie, he had the look of nothing but seriousness.
"That is why I became an undercover officer and operative. In order to stop the corruption. If you ever need me whether its for a conversation or help. I will be there."
My frequency is 0.4.25.98.430."
And just like that, him, Fang, and his operatives leaving the scene with thrown smoke bombs covering the entire room. Yangcong's ki suppression being activated and leaving without a trace.
