RULE 1) Act maturely, friendly and responsibly. You are expected to express yourself in a civil and level-headed manner during discussion or debate, therefore insulting fellow members or staff is forbidden, as is any kind of discrimination, overly aggressive behaviour or general actions which are not deemed by staff to be polite and proper during your daily discourse. This includes discussions such as character critiques: if someone is uncomfortable taking criticism of their character, or disagrees with your perspective, you should drop the subject. Always be constructive, and treat others the way you want to be treated.
RULE 1.5) You must continue to act mature and responsible in instances where you believe that you have been wronged. While we understand that is it natural to want to bite back, aggressive behaviour will still be treated accordingly. If you have a serious complaint, direct it to either staff or moderators. If it is against staff, you may utilize the Grievance Board.
RULE 2) Slang words and swear words are allowed, but not used in a manner used to offend or hurt another person. Discriminatory terms are NOT allowed in any sense. Finally, if we have any complaints about the amount of foul language used this rule could be changed, so try to limit yourself.
RULE 3) No explicit sexual content. This is a PG-13 site - harassment will result in removal from site.
RULE 4) Members must be logged in to post. Guest posts aren't considered valid due to potential for 'fraud.'
RULE 5) Bad behavior in the Discord and Shoutbox will not be tolerated- treat them as an extension of the site. If requested by staff to stop a given discussion, you are to do so immediately. If requested by a fellow member, then you are also to respect their wishes unless staff expressly say otherwise. (*Sometimes discord is not the right place - If it is truly a discussion you wish to pursue further you should instead create a thread for it.)
RULE 6) Do not demand staffwork to be performed in the above locations. If you see staff online, please refrain from pestering them to grade or approve something. If you feel like you've been waiting long enough for something like that to get taken care of, or feel that something may have fallen through the cracks, please send a direct message on-site or in Discord. Please also recognize that staff can not always be responsive: if you have something that needs to be done, or a dispute that needs to be registered, you may have to wait until real-life commitments conclude.
RULE 6.5) You are not compelled to agree with staff decisions, but you are expected to be mature and reasonable if you have cause to dispute them. Refrain from raising these disputes in the general Discord and instead use the Private Messaging functionality on-site, or submit a grievance on the Grievance Board depending upon staff availability. The general chat is intended for everyone's use, and absorbing it in an extensive dispute or argument can be damaging to individual enjoyment of the community.
RULE 7) Do not vote on polls using alternate accounts. Do not attempt to hide that an account is an alt.
RULE 8) Plagiarism is expressly forbidden. You may not use writing or roleplay material taken from other sites, regardless of if you have written it or otherwise, due to the problem of plagiarism (stealing another's work). Often, even if you are the writer of the material, it will be unfit for our shared universe.
RULE 9) Every player profile must be named after their characters. While face claims are not required to reflect your character, it is strongly recommended to avoid confusion. In keeping with the shonen manga theme, no real-life face claims or avatar pictures are permitted.
RULE 10) Do not attempt to coerce members to join your forum in an underhanded manner. Make use of the ad board instead.
RULE 11) Elements of characters can be denied by the staff team for not fitting in with the canonical Dragon Ball/Z setting. This can be something like its physical appearance or something tonally misplaced. For instance, a Namekian should not have feathery angel wings, or a character's backstory is way too dark or adult. Significant or sudden character changes may be subject to staff approval if it significantly alters the context of your application.
RULE 12) Any malicious or otherwise unwanted exploiting of the autograder system that staff consider to be cheating to up gains in an deceitful and dishonest manner will result in a severe warning or a ban. While not limited to these, autograder exploit examples are as follows: - Grossly abusing shop, site, or posting glitches and unfair loopholes to earn more XP than you should. - "Stockpiling" posts in private RP. Threads MUST be public and start and end on-site.
RULE 13) Respect artwork that you do not own. Provide sources if you are borrowing art that you did not create, purchase, or receive as a gift. Do not edit artwork that does not belong to you. Avoid using commissions or other player's original characters: while it may be inconvenient, we aim to respect the rights of the individuals who either paid or worked hard at their respective art pieces. Just because you can take something doesn't mean you should.
RULE 14) Use common sense in your interactions on the forum or in the Discord. While we cannot specifically proscribe against every individual action by name, you will be asked to cease any behaviour that is found to be in contradiction to the spirit of these rules. Continuing this behaviour will then result in warns, in keeping with the severity of the infraction.
RULE 1) No godmodding, whatsoever. Godmodding means controlling your fellow RPer's actions, such as saying they are hit by an attack, or followed you, etc.
RULE 2) You cannot kill another member's character without their expressed permission during normal RP. Killing a character in a death enabled thread (DE/saga) if your character is in the position to do so is allowed.
RULE 3) Using items and techniques your character does not have access to will result in punishment such as reduction of power-level/XP or a warn/ban.
RULE 3.5) Roleplaying cannot occur between two or more characters ("Main" Characters that require a separate account and application process, not purchasable Minions or non-purchased NPC characters) that are controlled by you. If you control multiple characters in the same thread, you will receive harsh punishment, which can include a permanent ban.
RULE 4) This roleplay occurs in real time, with threads following a logical timeline. In general, they occur on or around the date they were posted unless otherwise stated or implied. This is flexible, with the main restriction being that it cannot interfere with the timelines of DE threads, and should not interfere with the sequence of threads you are participating in.
RULE 5) Gross misuse of OOC knowledge - to alter gameplay in a way that negatively effects other characters or outcomes in a way that wouldn't have otherwise happened - will be punished.
RULE 6) You are allowed up to four separate characters. Each character must have their own account. Occasionally a fifth slot is allowed if you show activity with four characters for a certain period of time.
RULE 7) If you wish to attack or invade a named location or planet (ie. a "board") then you must do so in an Open DE-type thread (*see below for thread types). Destroying a board town, city, or planet requires a 72 hour wait time from the time of the attack's generation to allow players an opportunity to respond. Destroying a planet requires a 1,000,000+ PL attack.
RULE 1) [OPEN] threads are open to any character that is on the planet. Try not to discriminate who can and cannot join when you create a thread with this type that anyone on-planet pop into. If you wish to have a select few people join, look below at the second thread type.
RULE 2) [INVITE] or [CLOSED] Threads are only join-able by a select few people the thread creator invites. To join one of these without an initial invite, you must get the approval of most, if not all participants in the thread.
DEATH ENABLED & SAGA RULES |
RULE 1) [DE] (*Death Enabled) threads are threads wherein the stakes are at an all-time high. Characters can die in these threads. Entering or creating one of these locks you out of joining any other threads until this one is completed, or you exit it successfully. Open DEs are open for 72 hours before closing to new entries. Creating or joining any new threads while DE locked will result in removal of XP earned from the posts and an appropriate warning.
RULE 2) The Saga Slacker Smackdown (SSS) will be issued on characters who participate in Open DEs and Sagas without significantly contributing in the form of steep XP deductions at the conclusion of the thread. Characters who are either not fighting, not contributing to the shared story, or whose involvement detracts or contradicts the wider story may be subject to this penalty at the discretion of grading staff.
RULE 3) While usually you cannot casually skip a person in a thread, if someone does not post in 48 hours, the next person may post and skip them. The skipped person may re-enter the post queue when they see fit after being skipped. Going over the 48 hour timer will result in a -1,000 XP deduction from your end bonus in open DEs, and -500 in DB challenge DEs.
RULE 3§B) To jump ahead in the post order, you must have the consent of all those posting between you and the spot you want to skip to. RULE 3§C) If you want to skip ahead to block an attack for another character, you only need the blockee's consent.
RULE 4) For the sake of speeding a DE up, someone can Split the main DE into more, separate threads that are considered branches of the main thread. When first creating a split, you send initial invites for people who may join- though others may also join at their leisure when the split is created, or after it begins. Splits are technically considered the same thread, so an "exit" cannot be interrupted if said exit is to join one of the other parts of the DE. Exits from the DE as a whole can be interrupted. One CANNOT interrupt an interrupt, though- you can react or counter for another if an attack was sent their way with the interruption, but they will still be stuck in the DE.
RULE 4§B) When travelling to an existing split, you must wait for a full post rotation to pass in the split to join.
RULE 5) To change intent in a DE thread from one goal to another, you must quell all opposition for the original intent before doing so. Changing DE intent re-opens the DE to new entries for another 72 hours.
RULE 6) You are still expected to be respectful to your thread partners in a DE thread. It's alright to feel down if things don't go your way, but taking that out in the OOC world to bring down others is not allowed. More about DE etiquette can be read in the Death Enabled etiquette and Grading thread.
RULE 7) [SAGA] Threads are amped-up DEs. While normal [DE] Threads usually extend to one or a few boards in terms of their consequences, [SAGA] threads have PLANETARY-LEVEL STAKES. They operate with all prior DE rules listed and additional rules specifically for Saga threads. If your intention is to DESTROY A PLANET in its entirety, you CANNOT destroy the planet so long as there is opposition in your DE. You must defeat or otherwise quell anyone in your way first- any attacks fired while there are still fighters in your way may leave the landscape below battered, but not destroyed.
RULE 8) Due to the wider stakes, if there are any other ongoing DEs on the planet in question at the time of the SAGA’s creation, players from those DEs can get a FREE ESCAPE to head from the DE to a Saga with refreshed KP and health. If they choose to use this escape, they can post instantly despite the post order. However, they must head straight to the ongoing SAGA, and are unable to join new threads otherwise as per usual. This free escape does NOT apply to DEs ongoing on other planets.
RULE 9) Per planet, there can only ever be ONE Saga thread at once. You can’t have two separate DEs both trying to blow up a planet, one person trying to explode the planet while another is trying to take it over, and so on. Change in intent in the singular Saga thread is allowed.
RULE 10) While threads of this nature require proper timing both In-Character and Out, we will take measures against overt cases of metagaming. Abuse of OOC knowledge, lack of proper justification or otherwise intentional abuse of the Saga tag will result in the thread being deemed null and void, and may incur further penalties if the breach is severe enough
RULE 1) You are allowed to do 2 solo training posts per week (7 days, refreshes every Monday at 12am EST).
RULE 2) Of these, one can be gravity-based. Gravity trainings increase in increments of 10x, no skipping allowed.
RULE 1) Fighters are considered equal in power within 80% power-level of the opponent. Fighters within 60% of the leading fighter can still achieve victory, though the difference in power is noticeable. Below this level and you have little chance of victory without team-work or special techniques. More in-depth rules regarding combat can be found in the 'Mechanics' section.
