Mac, the Hellhound

Appearance: A large black dog, like the kind that haunts Earthling legends. His fur is fluffy, his tail long, and his overall appearance rather wolfish. His eyes, inside of his mouth, and even his teeth, all glow with a molten yellow and orange color, like fresh lava. Despite the hellish appearance, Mac usually has a friendly demeanor, tongue often lolling out with a goofy expression on his face. It’s only when he’s in combat that he gets the serious look one might expect.

History: 

Aside from Shinjin, ogres, and the countless spirits of the dead, there are other beings that live in Otheworld. One of these kinds of creatures are the hellhounds, large fiery dogs that mainly patrol the Lower Worlds, looking for souls trying to escape and stopping them, usually by puffing themselves up and putting on and intimidating display. They very rarely actually hurt anyone, and prefer to merely scare the spirits back to where they belong. When they’re not doing their job, they’re generally very friendly, and many ogres keep them as pets.

One, in particular, befriended a Konatsian, a desert nomad named Pikan. He had died to some monster out in the sands, and without anyone in the Afterlife he knew, he enjoyed the dog’s company, and named him Mac. Many spirits were afraid of the hellhounds, which of course, helped them do their job, but Mac was still a dog at his core, and once he found this nice man who would scratch his ears and throw him sticks, he stuck to him like glue.

Soon, the rest of the population of Konats filled the Afterlife, and almost as quickly, they left again, revived by a wish on the Dragon Balls. Pikan was left behind, however, as he hadn’t died to the same robots as the rest of them. Mac was incredibly confused by what had happened, but stayed by his master’s side through it all nonetheless.

...Until his master gave him a mission. Pikan was worried about his friend, Damia, who had been revived without him. They had always worked as a team, but now she was out there alone. He asked Mac to go to the world of the living and find her, keep her safe. Poor Mac was confused by the request. He knew he wasn’t supposed to let spirits leave this world, but...did that mean himself, as well? Did he count as a spirit? The particulars of the rules eluded his simple canine brain, so he gave Pikan one final lick on the face, then set off on his journey. Following his nose through reality, all the way to the planet Konats.

Techniques & Abilities:

[A1] Fire Fang: Mac heats up his fangs and bites an opponent.  33% PL damage, cost 1 KP.

     -->[UA2] Molten Maw:  His bite heats up to the point that flames start to flick out from his maw.  66% PL damage, cost 2 KP.

[SU1] Smokeform: Mac's body turns to smoke and embers, letting him move through the air unhindered by most attacks.  Dodge one attack under 100% of PL, cost 1 KP.

Spectral Procession: When being revived or repurchased after their death in a DE thread, a Ghost minion only costs 25% of the cost used to increase its power level and the base minion cost is not factored.

Transformations:

Direwolf: x3, Permanent. Mac grows to more than twice his normal size, big enough for Damia to ride on his back, and his power grows to match.
