With a finalizing yell the beam had been shot out into the night sky, emitting a bright pink illuminating glow over the desert oasis. After so many moments it would expire, allowing the moonlight to once more take over its reign of the inky, star-filled blackness above. Cassa stared up at the stars, her brow furrowed with how disappointed she was over this plan. Signaling for The Champ wasn’t working out, or maybe he had given up searching for her after being over a day late than she had assured. Though after what would now be the fifth ki wave launched into the sky, Cassa felt this naturally would have happened. Someone like Hale wasn’t going to just wait around on her to show up, not when he probably had better things to do at this home of his. Outside the gorge where she waited, there had been no signs of any home of any kind for miles in any direction. It was beginning to look like some sick prank in her eyes, in the form of paranoia creeping into the back of her mind. Standing in this gorge again, by herself at that, was enough to send a small shiver up her spine.
It was almost yesterday these stones in the bed of the small pond were a wall to a cave. Cassa stood across the clearing from where she had that day, watching as her memory replayed an incorporeal vision of her encounter with Sensoa and Hale. It was eerie, and extremely uncomfortable just to stand here, and almost watch everything happen a second time. Her mind played tricks on her, mistaking the wind over the gorge for the voices of the memory. The longer she seemed to linger here in isolation, the further it drove Cassa toward a desire to leave. If The Champ wasn’t going to make good on their agreement, then maybe she could try to find this place on her own. It was still a better option than staying here, letting the past taunt her the way it was. With a shake of the head she would turn from the makeshift entrance to the hidden cave, hoping it would be easier to think without looking at it.
Rising slowly through the air, Cassa would ascend passed the palm trees and sanded rock to the fringes of the mouth of the gorge. With a hand over her brow she would search north, then west, for any signs of The Champ with narrowed eyes. Though much to her furthering disappointment, she would not avail in her desperation. There was nothing to be found except for an endless stretch of moonlit sand, and more hope crushing failure. Cassa crossed her arms with a huff, a small cloud of warm breath hitting the cold desert air from between her lips. She was beginning to think that Hale was a liar, and that this home for training in the desert didn’t actually exist. It certainly wouldn’t have been the first time she had been led on a wild goose chase during this journey. The saiyan shook her head as she turned to the south, silently reprimanding herself for having been so gullible in the first place.
That was when the faintest sound of chatter caught her ears, and the girl quickly began searching for the source amongst the sand and stars. As she ascended a few more feet, a glimmer of moonlight would barely make out the forms of three individuals flying southwest. Naturally curious over whom could be flying through the desert at this hour, Cassa would follow suit with a decreased velocity, hoping to maintain her distance so as not to be discovered. For what would accumulate nearly two hours worth of time, or what felt close to it, the young saiyan would trail these enigmas across the desert, over the ocean, and into the tropics. The further she traveled, the more the landscape would drastically change, until finally in the distance the makings of a well fortified camp could be made out in the moonlight.
She would touch down near the fringe of the camp’s exterior, taking refuge behind one of the makeshift buildings, while the enigmas touched down near a check-in station. While Cassa did her best to stick to the safety behind the nearest wall, the gaps betwixt the steel yurts would permit an allowance of time to have spied a glimpse to the camp’s interior. The saiyan would frown as she recognized the symbol, and the armor that decorated each of the beings walking, and lingering amongst a campfire near the outpost’s epicenter. Some of the creatures illuminated by the fire jeered about some song, which apparently had been written about some officer losing a “flex-off” whatever the hell that was. The longer she eavesdropped, the more Cassa would come to learn the purpose behind this small outpost. It was, as from what she gathered, the Fleet’s way of keeping an eye on “a certain tower” which had garnered interest among these grunts superiors. At least that’s how these drunken murderers were jesting, all while making empty threats to the “thick-headed lout” whom lived atop the subject of their reconnaissance. Curiously enough, Cassa had failed to make any notice of a tower in the dark, and was beginning to wonder if the tale were even true.
Hoping to gleam more answers before potentially being discovered by the Fleet troopers, Cassa hunkered down in her hiding spot to listen in further. Hale

The familiar scene was playing out once more with Hale standing a top his tower like a proud super hero looking out of a city, though his city was empty and filled with sand. Much like a city it didn't stay quiet long strangely, and as a bright pink beam of energy shot off into the sky it was a bit of a strange sight in a usually quiet region. It wasn't the second one that confused him as much as the three after that, and at this point there was either a one-sided fight going on or someone was actually trying to get his attention. The problem was who would even know he was out here at this point aside from a few people. The distance of the blasts however made it hard to think someone was signalling for him specifically, but it was worth a look regardless.
By the time he had reached where he at least thought the source was, there was no one in sight and at least no signs of any sort of fight, though the longer he looked the more he realized how familiar the location was. Simply shaking his head with a sigh, he turned his head to leave and could have sworn he saw someone flying away, but far enough away that he couldn't make them out before they were gone. Given how far he had flown simply flying back would be a pain, but his sheer curiosity at this point got the better of him and he headed off towards what he thought he saw. It was a bit of a flight, and his complete lack of energy sensing didn't help matters, but thankfully his persistence and stubbornness paid off, and after a while he seemed to catch up to whoever was flying ahead and more.
Hale flew right past Cassa before he realized it was her, but at this point he had thought he was looking for the ones in the camp instead, and found himself landing next in the middle of said camp and looking around. "Hey guys." Giving a heavy wave and looking around to see after a few moments just what he had landed in the middle of and started loudly and hardily laughing. His eyes drifted over to where he had spotted Cassa, but decided not to simply yell for her just in case she wasn't as up for being found as Hale was, and just kept looking around as if trying to make a head count of the guys he could directly see. "You wouldn't be out here spying on me would you? Or fighting maybe? How about shooting off pink beams into the sky?" Crossing his arms and grinning.

The last thing she expected to happen next, was for the one person she had been searching for upon hour upon hours, to suddenly drop out of the sky into the middle of this camp. Cassa’s eyes went wide at the sudden appearance of The Champ, instinctively trying to hunker down further in her hiding spot. Though as she tried to do so, the arcosian would turn to look right at her, prompting the saiyan’s brow to rise with shock. Crapsicles! Did he see me!? she would muse silently, bringing a finger up to her lips curiously. She tried to avoid the lizard’s gaze long enough before it would appear the Fleet warriors had seized his attention. She did her best to try and listen in to what was being said among them, yet Cassa could barely make anything out over Hale’s booming voice. What the heck is he doing here!? she would ask herself, failing to understand the motive behind the bold entrance.
”Ain’t none of yer damn business fool!” chimed a rather gutsy heran, whom rose from his seat by the fire to jab a finger in Hale’s chest. It inspired the other Fleet warriors to rise, and began encircling The Champ hopes to intimidate the inquisitor. ”Ain’t nobodies shootin their load in the sky fer ya, worm! Not after the wallop ye gave the commander!” The crowd jeered in agreement, which told the eavesdropping saiyan that the arcosian had been busy, as she had expected. Though with what exactly, she couldn’t clearly ascertain, only that these group of murderers were mad at someone she believed to be a friend. The notion of Hale’s search wasn’t lost on her however, almost perking up at the mention of the lights she intentionally caused out west. Though she would stifle the noise that almost left her mouth, cupping her hands over it with wide eyed shock, as though Cassa were to be found out any second. So he was looking for her? The saiyan couldn’t help but feel like this encounter with this outpost was quickly becoming her fault, likely that The Champ might have never shown if he wasn’t searching for her.
Who else could make pink lights in the desert though?
”Nah, wait Bleeter. My team saw some strange lights out west.”
Oh crap! Had they seen her signal waves near the oasis!? Cassa felt her breath catch in her chest, while she tried to remain as silent as she possibly could. ”That so Scruff? Hell, fer all we know, yer the one causin’ th’ stupid light show! Maybe yer th’ one spyin’ on da Fleet, eh bub!? What ya think a nosey fuckin’ bum like yer self gonna get, pokin’ their damn noses where they don’t belong!?” Another jab in The Champ’s chest, this time forcibly enough to try and provoke some hostility. Though as the taunting push was made, several of the other soldiers had risen weapons to point at the back of The Champ’s head! ”Well, wh’ you think boys? Think Faasta might wan’ a word?” Some of the men chuckled sadistically, some would show off their black toothed grins. ”Feed the bastard to Terium most likely!” jeered another from the growing crowd. Several guns would click, while some eyes narrowed over their sights.
Oh no! no! no! no! Cassa recognized the last name as one of the few Sensoa had offered that day in the gorge. The saiyan knew the name, yet couldn’t recall which of the murderous psychotics from the Ginger Town siege answered to it. All that Cassa remained aware of, was that these imbeciles were going to hurt her friend if she didn’t do something! Though as an overwhelming desire to jump into the fray swelled within her, the saiyan would remain rooted to her hiding spot. Not out of fear, nor cowardice, but in hopes that she might learn something valuable from these loose tongues. Cassa hoped The Champ was obviously smarter than some of these clowns, that they might let slip some vital clue to their plans if they were pressed hard enough. Hunkering down further to hopefully make the best of this unusual situation, Cassa would listen intently to the growing argument in the camp’s center. Hale Faasta

Hale gave a hearty laugh at the guy's quip, rolling his eyes some and sighing. "Oh it is, trust me. I don't know if you heard, but this desert, well it's mine now. You are in it." He didn't flinch at the poke, simply looking around at those that had the bravery in numbers to stand up and move around him. "You should really be more respectful. And if you poke me again I'm going to pull off your finger and stuff it up your nose, yeah?", never losing his wide smile the entire time. Putting up his hands suddenly, Hale started to laugh loudly again. "Wait wait hold on, let me get this straight. You guys are angry because I beat up one of your friends. You called him commander which meant he was a higher rank thank you. So you think standing up to me is in your best interest?", again laughing with a full bodies laugh, holding his stomach this time.
Slowly his eyes turned to where he saw Cassa, but she was at least attempting to hide now, and he wasn't about to go staring, waving, or calling out to her, but things were about to get interesting and he didn't want to get her caught in the likely literal cross-fire. His eyes slowly moved back to the mouthy fleet member and just as slowly they narrowed. "That's enough talking." His smile faded at the second poke. "What did I just tell you about that?" Reaching out suddenly, he grabbed the man by the throat and squeezed, pulling him up off the ground. "Any one of you move and I turn this guy into a permanent bobble head. Do I make myself clear?", looking around and pointing the guy towards a few that were getting a bit too brave for their own good. "And put down those weapons, they aren't going to do anything but making me mad. I don't like getting mad, because I tend to hurt people when I get mad. I don't like hurting people, ya know?" His amused demeanor was gone, as his open hand started glowing holding it ever closer to the man's chest. "One of you is gonna tell me what you are doing out here. Preferably sooner than later. Don't test me, I've had a long day." As the end of his sentence finished he began to bulk up and grow, his brute form showing itself slowly and first until he was a hulking version of himself standing over all the men around him.

This wasn’t looking good to Cassa, whom stuck to her hiding spot, and her opinions that these soldiers were being far too confident for their own good. They acted much like she remembered Fleet warriors would, never once wavering in the expectations of their cruelty. Never once did she agree with how they treated The Champ, finding that the insults themselves would grate her nerve and patience with all the relentlessness of nails on a chalkboard. Like a moth to a flame, these aggressive bastards had swarmed about her arcosian friend, eager to pick on anything different. Cassa could feel her breath steel, knowing full well just how it hurt when anyone picked her out of a crowd, when they poked, prodded, teased, ridicule. Words cut deeper than blades on some days, and it was plain enough to see they were probably starting to get to The Champ.
Cassa watched on as he laughed it off, which she took as a bad sign. Humor was often used as a way to mask one’s insecurities. Even if he chose to be brave in the face of these radicals, Cassa would still suspect that they had hit a nerve. Either way the situation needed to be stopped before it escalated further, before anyone else got hurt, and words were beyond hearing. The young saiyan bowed her head, muttering a brief prayer under her breath to the Kais in hopes peace could be achieved here. That was until her senses picked up on a massive surge of power; the girl’s eyes going wide with fear as she looked up to see a behemoth of a monster! Is-is that…? She couldn’t be sure if it was the same kind person she met in Satan City. The voice that boomed from the massive chest a different pitch; the confident smile on its face, almost sadistic with a newfound glee. Were it not for the similar colors, or the fact he had been standing there moments before, Cassa would have never guessed this giant brute to have been her friend.
Though the way he raised the soldier by his neck, the way his victim seemed to struggle helplessly, begged to question Cassa if she was content in befriending someone so aggressive. She grit her teeth as she watched the soldier struggle, noted the fear in the eyes of the others, and the smallest gleam of pleasure Hale’s own. Was this morally justified? Sure the Fleet were a bunch of murderous invaders, but Cassa wasn’t sure if she agreed with how this was being handled. Is this right? She had wanted to fight against the Fleet, but the saiyan began to wonder exactly what she had meant that day. Some portion of her heart wanted to do it peacefully, to show these invaders that their cruel ways wouldn’t be tolerated in a world of peace. Some part of Cassa hoped she might find the leader, maybe talk some sense into them, and maybe they would leave Earth entirely. Though there was a sickening truth that boiled under all these passing hopes, these dreams that could not become reality in this world. The bitter fact that these soldiers, these poor souls, could not be reasoned with.
That didn’t mean she couldn’t try!
”Stop it…” she would mutter weakly, as though the crowd could hear her over the monster’s demands. ”Stop it now…” The girl’s voice was rising with her as she made to stand, as was her ki, which began to rapidly surge toward her maximum. She could hear the pleas to release the soldier, the weapons that were armed when The Champ refused, and the strained growl that was growing with the saiyan’s power. She would fix this! Nobody would get hurt tonight if she could prevent more harm from being done! She could catch this dream in time, she could weave this into reality!
”STOP HURTING EACH OTHER!!!" The scream would carry across the camp with a sharp pulse of kinetic force as the girl would reach her peak, billowing and throwing sand and loose items away from the source. Some of the surrounding soldiers became shocked at the sudden appearance of what would look to be the big guy’s ally. Some tried to flee, stumbling over themselves and fumbling about with their weapons. ”Wh-who the hell’s dat!?” managed the squirming alien in Hale’s grasp. With a surge of inertia in her momentum, Cassa would vanish in a burst of speed, leaving a shower of flower petals to rain in her place. In seconds she was standing within feet of the transformed brute, hands cupped to the side, as pink ki began to focus what she believed to be a lethal amount of power. Cassa would continue to charge the Kamehameha wave threateningly, as she glared up at the massive arcosian with narrowed brown spheres. Even if he was still somewhere inside that monster, Cassa was not going to let The Champ kill these people, no matter who they worked for. With a firm tone, she would address the massive fighter, despite how high that power level was.
”Put. Him. Down. NOW!!!”

The man his in grasp tried in vain to shake himself free as he was pointed around at the others, and Hale showed no signs of dropping him. "I'm serious, someone start talking." The more he moved around the more the ones who were mocking him just moments earlier looked a bit less enthusiastic about fighting, and it was likely his transformation didn't help matters. Hale caught a glimpse of Cassa out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't hear her at first and didn't register in the moment that it was her standing there, assuming her to still be hiding. He had a goal in mind, and even if he had no plans to just murder someone pointlessly, his friends didn't know that, and the fear on their faces would eventually play into his favor. He didn't like to rush to attacking someone that hadn't done so to him first, but the fleet weren't easily bargained with, and given how close they were to his home and how one had came to see him directly, he couldn't just wait for them to move even closer and start becoming an instant disruption and problem.
Hale's head turned towards Cassa, looking directly at her as she spoke louder. What exactly was she doing and who was she talking to? If she were talking to him then this might get really awkward in a hurry. Clearly he wasn't trying to actually hurt the guy or he would have done it and been done by now, but he couldn't easily tell her that without openly telling the others as well. The problem was, louder Cassa got the more obvious it was that he had annoyed her and he wasn't real sure how to react in the moment. He let out a soft sigh at her scream and dropped the guy for no other reason than to show he had no intentions of actually killing him, but foot a large foot on his chest to make sure he wasn't running anywhere just in case, slowly crossing his arms. "Girl, you need to calm down." He turned to see some of the fleet members running and groaned to himself. This was exactly what he didn't want happening, and the best case scenario was they left, and at worst they went and told someone else and even more fleet members showed up. Reaching down and grabbing the scouter off of the man he was stepping on, he turned and tossed it at the one man still fleeing that hadn't tripped, hitting him in the back of the knee to trip him as well.
Not staring her in the eye, mostly ignoring the others around him, Hale slowly shook his head as if he were disappointed almost, then breaking the stare to look around the camp, heavily sighing annoyed before looking back. "I get what you are trying to to here, but if any of these guys gets away we are going to have a lot more trouble. Specifically I am, and I'm not having more of these morons show up to my house causing issues. So I need you to calm down and back up." Looking down at her hands his eyes narrowed a bit before grabbing the man on the ground with his tail as he turned and walked towards the men that were fleeting, walking slowly and dragging the man behind. "I'm serious, calm down. And put those away", pointing back at her hands before yelling out to the entire camp. "I suggest none of you run! If I have to chase you it won't end well. I came to talk but my patience is quickly running out."
