Ruined and dilapidated buildings lined the sides of the city streets. The dense smog that coated the city obscured his vision and the beeping of his scouter's radiation monitor rang in his ear. By all means, the leftover remains of the Tuffle Captial was not the place for him to be. Yet none of these clear signs of danger had stopped Scallio from making his approach. It had, in fact, incentivized him to approach the capital. Its harsh conditions would make it the ideal location for his training. Something that he had been slacking on since his arrival on Vegeta. Far too focused on getting the word out about the Crimson Apes. A task he'd likely still be doing if the event with the Saibamen hadn't occurred.
The memory of his ambush by the creatures made Scallio's skin crawl. Anger over his embarrassment the other day boiling just beneath it. It was a clear sign that he needed a change of pace and to brush up on his combat skills. Especially if he was going to make the best impression upon the Queen as possible. She wouldn't want to deal with weaklings after all. And he wasn't ashamed to admit that he needed the Queen's assistance in making sure his mercenary company grew.
Scallio grunted, pushing all thoughts on matters outside of his training aside. He needed to be focused, otherwise, he'd never see any real results. He came to a stop in the middle of what had once been an intersection. The Saiyan's hands balled tightly into fists and the sound of his screaming echoed loudly. The energy he began to emit skyrocketed upward. Increasing as the pitch of his voice grew louder and louder. His orange aura erupted around his body, the ground beneath his feet cracking further. A swirl of wind picked up around blowing his scarlet mohawk about with its hectic gusts.
For the moment the warrior's training focused on keeping his power level raised at its maximum for prolonged periods of time. Something he'd struggled with ever since he was a child. He knew the potential of true strength lay dormant within himself. It was just a matter of accessing it outside of stressful times that was the issue. He would remain here within the Tuffle Captial until he could achieve such a goal. Even if that meant he ran the risk of killing himself from the radiation. He would not be a failure or a weakling any longer.
Auber has been to the ruined city before, exploring it's secrets about the likely war that occurred here, he ponders on why they haven't cleaned this up yet, sure it's brimming with discovery however it seems rather useless, he killed this train of thought when he sensed a signature in this ravaged of a place, it nearly equaled his own albeit quite a bit weaker, but if this did turn out into a fight, he'd have to put a lot of effort into it.
As he looked around for the enemy that his natural senses picked up, he found someone rather interesting, it's the guy that came over with him to train in Cacumber with Kayen, what was a saiyan like him doing here? This is a decent spot to train or so he thought, he'd ask the saiyan himself.
As he descended from his flight which he had been using to travel around his homeplanet, he attempted to make the first verbal contact "Well, that's a familiar face." He remarked outloud, hoping it attracts his attention, he crossed his arms as he observed Scalio flare up in ki, maybe this was a good time for a spar.
His mind was so singularly focused on the task at hand, that he hadn't even noticed the other Saiyan's approach. Not that he would have noticed if he had been paying attention. Scallio lacked the ability to sense energy, and his scouter, despite being able to pick up radiation, was unable to track a fighter's energy. Thus he was particularly vulnerable to surprise attacks. Thankful that wouldn't be an issue. As the Saiyan whose presence Scallio had noticed once he spoke, meant him no harm. It was, in fact, someone he had met not too long ago.
Scallio's aura calmed, and he folded his arm against his chest. His head tilting to the side as he looked Auber over. What exactly was he doing here? Scallio hadn't been expecting anyone else to venture into the ruins. The radiation acting as a deterrent for any unwelcomed guests. Unless he was here to train as well? Their shared encounter with the Queen might have left Auber craving strength too. Of course, he didn't know the Saiyan well enough to make a call like that.
"We meet again," he spoke, "Auber was it?" he asked, hopefully, he had gotten his name correct. "Are you here to train as well?" he inquired. From their crossed position against his chest, Scallio's arms tensed, his thumb motioning at the area behind him. Depending on the Saiyan's answer Scallio was planning to ask Auber to train with him. He'd seen him fight during the spar with Kayen. It was impressive, and something told him they were evenly matched in strength. An ideal candidate for a friendly sparring match.
He noticed the time it took for the other saiyan to notice him, unsurprising considering he was currently flaring up his ki, and so Auber waited patiently until he did acknowledge his existence, "Impressive power you hold there, we are most likely evenly matched." The saiyan commended, clapping his hands to compliment Scallio's display further.
The other Saiyan asked for his intentions here, "I wouldn't have come here to train ideally but a chance to spar with a level of power like yours is not something to pass up." He revealed, letting his arms drop to the side and afterwards stretching a bit with them, he also did some other stretching tasks, it was good to get the body warmed up, and finally cracking his knuckles.
"I saw how you fought Kayen, you did well despite her overwhelming power, but I've been pondering about how WE would do against eachother, exciting, right?" He asked before entering a fighting pose, his body coated in a dark-purple aura which radiated an eerie sound, his facial features included a confident smirk but Auber wasn't one to get cocky, it's only when your opponent is broken on the ground that such cockiness be demonstrated "Come on." He goaded, allowing his opponent to have the first move.
Scallio didn't even need to make the offer, Auber's mind had already gone to the same place his had. Auber was just as interested in testing his mettle against Scallio as Scallio was against him. He shouldn't have been surprised. They were both Saiyans after all. The desire to fight and push themselves to their limits was ingrained in their blood. A smirk formed on the mercenary's face, "Funny, I was thinking the same thing." he flexed his power once more. The aura of orange erupting to life around him. Auber assumed his fighting pose, and Scallio went to work scanning it for any openings. Anything that he could exploit in order to quickly gain an advantage.
He couldn't spot any. The warrior before him clearly knew not to leave himself open so easily. Auber surrendered the first move, and Scallio couldn't help but be slightly suspicious. Regardless of this fact, the Saiyan complied. He leaped backward and into the air, creating a fair amount of distance between himself and Auber. During the jump, Scallio kept his right hand at his side, energy being pulled into his palm. "Let's start things off with a bang then," he exclaimed. The energy within the palm of his hand began to swirl rapidly as it reached its peak.
"Siege Cannon!" still suspended in the air Scallio pushed his right hand forward. The vortex of energy housed within it released itself outward. A large beam of orange ki rocked towards Auber at astounding speed. While this may just have been a friendly spar Scallio was making it quite clear that he was playing for keeps. As any Saiyan worth their salt would be. The only question now was, would Auber be able to handle it?
Scallio figured he would.
[A1] Siege Cannon fired at 3,465PL. KP: 2/3
Last Edit: Feb 4, 2019 16:12:34 GMT -6 by Scallio: added action summary and KP
Of course Scallio held similar thoughts to Auber, their saiyan nature compels them both to test themselves against eachother, and maybe not all of their race held these same cravings but Auber knew Scallio the moment he laid eyes on him, from his attitude to the battle with the queen, he knew this guy would say yes to a chance to train.
Scallio used the first move surrendered by him to fire a beam of orange ki at him, to which a purple light intensified in his hand and before long, he fired his own attack, a dark-purple ball that clashed with the orange of his opponents' assault, but neither attack could overpower one another and so both simply fizzled and dissipated, of course there was a crater from the clash of beams, and along with it came smoke, Auber took advantage of such a smoke to charge through its opaque contents and attempt to deliver a gut-punch to his saiyan opponent, before following up with another punch to the head, two kicks to the chest and left shoulder respectively and finally one final punt to the center of Scallio's body, seeking to send him flying back and to create distance.
This was so Auber could create another strategy for attacking, he held the same fighting pose as when he started the fight, his confident smirk however was now gone, replaced by a cold scowl as his eyes glared at the saiyan before him, this wasn't an act of real aggression outside of the friendly spar, Auber just couldn't care to hold a certain expression during battle, his dark-purple aura flowing through his form, he pondered on what sort of counterattack Scallio had in mind.
[N1] Darkness Blast fired to clash with Siege Cannon! 3,533 damage heading towards it! Clash fizzled due to practically equal numbers 2/3 KP
The two blasts of energy clashed against one another and the recoil sent Scallio back a few feet. He caught himself mid-air, his eyes quickly scanning the area in front of him for signs of Auber. Unfortunately, he couldn't see him through the cloud of dust kicked up by the collision of their attacks. In the short seconds, that passed as Scallio looked for his foe. Auber advanced on him. The mercenary had little time to react or adjust. He could only groan out in pain as the warrior's fist slammed into his stomach. It wasn't anything he hadn't felt before though. So it was easy to fight back the pain. Just in time to bring his arm upward and block the blow meant for his head with his forearm.
That didn't deter Auber though and he kept on the pressure. Two kicks were aimed at him and Scallio managed to block one of them. The one meant for his chest was enough to deal with after all. It was the kick meant for his left shoulder that he hadn't reacted to in time. Scallio didn't have too much to focus on the hit before another one was directed his way. Auber's foot kicked against the center of his chest with serious force. He felt his chest tighten in pain and his body recoiled backward several feet. The distance that Auber had meant to create was granted.
Scallio took a brief second to catch his breath. His mind raced with ideas for a counter attack. It was then that he noticed the cold glare of Auber's eyes. Just looking into them made Scallio's blood boil. His fellow Saiyan hadn't meant to but looking at him like that. He couldn't help but be reminded of his father. It somehow made this friendly spar all the more personal. At least within Scallio's fractured perspective.
"Stop staring at me like that..." he barked through gritted teeth. The aura of energy around Scallio erupted once more. Flickering back and forth like a flame. As it raged around him Scallio made his move. He held a hand towards Auber and unleashed a barrage of ki blasts from the palm. They had minimal power behind them and were merely serving as a distraction. With the barrage of ki blasts as his cover, he charged forward. Quickly closing the distance between himself and Auber. Once in front of the Saiyan, he attempted to deliver a powerful kick into his side. Followed by trying to uppercut him directly into the air his fist aimed at the underside of his jaw.
Should that work Scallio would then follow it up with another barrage of ki blast.
Last Edit: Feb 10, 2019 20:42:44 GMT -6 by Scallio: fixed KP as no KP action was taken.
He was pretty satisfied, all his blows but two had hit Scallio and the distance he wanted was made, thus leaving room for the both of them to strategize for the next round, Auber however wasn't doing any of it and was just instead waiting for anything his opponent had to offer, it was important that he established a read on his offense style so he could learn to get back at him later on.
This look he was giving was apparently unnerving Scallio as he barked at Auber to cease his staring, to which he complied with a smirk, the same smirk he had on at the beginning of the spar, maybe in an unnerved state, his fellow saiyan would become sloppy with his attacks.
Auber was wrong of course, as he was shot with minimal ki blasts, to which he either kicked away or dodged, failing to notice Scallio closing in as he got kicked in the side, grunting in surprise and pain, he was also uppercutted into the air, he shook his head however and flew straight at Scallio through the barrage of ki blasts, seeking to dive at him with a punch aimed at his chest, before aiming his other free hand at the ground behind him and shooting a moderately-sized blast, this obliterated the ground but also gave Auber a boost in momentum, throwing him straight at his enemy, he had his legs straight, attempting to kick Scallio in the gut once more.
His attacks had worked, for the most part, each one of his physical blows connecting against Auber in the desired manner. It was as he began to fire the spheres of ki at the Saiyan that things began to take a turn. In a brazen display, Scallio's foe began to charge straight down towards him. Going through the spheres of ki on his speedy trek downward. It was quite clear that he hoped to catch Scallio off guard with the tactic. Auber would be left disappointed if that truly was the case. As Scallio reacted quickly to the sudden counterattack.
With his energy already flowing through his body, it was an easy task to manipulate it. A barrier of transparent orange energy sprang to life around Scallio's body. Just in time for Auber's fist and to collide against it. Preventing the Saiyan within it from suffering any damage. That didn't stop Auber from continuing his assault, however. As he quickly followed it up with a blast of ki and a straight forward kick with both his legs. Neither of which managed to damage the barrier that Scallio had summoned. Although, the blast of energy had left the ground damaged.
From within his barrier, Scallio couldn't help but smirk. Dropping it just after Auber's feet had collided against it. Quickly he reached out his hand, attempting to grab hold of Auber's right leg. Should it work, Scallio would then attempt to toss the Saiyan down towards the ground. Using his a large portion of his strength to ensure the throw would deal some serious damage. This tango was getting more intense as the seconds passed. And Scallio was getting equally as excited by the rush. Auber was proving to be exactly the challenge Scallio had been hoping for.
[B1] Warrior's Bastion - Used to block Auber's strikes.
Auber was left disappointed as Scallio put up some sort of barrier to defend himself, and then grabbing Auber's legs, tossing him away like a ragdoll, Auber straightened himself in mid-air and slid down the rocky grounds of the Tuffle location, before he aimed a hand as a dark-purple glow radiated from the palm of his hand, soon enough, a destructive beam of said colours would race at his foe.
After the inevitable collision with his beam, Auber charged once again, aiming to deliver a serious kick to groin, followed by a series of punches and knees aiming for mostly his chest, shoulders, gut or face afterwards finalizing with a ki blast to his chest.
Scallio was a good opponent, he was perfect for training and sparring, he hoped these little scuffles between them would continue in the future, he was having good fun with this, Auber couldn't help but smirk back at his opponent, signalling that he was having an adrenaline of excitement as much as he was, but whether he got it or not, Auber was making one thing clear.
Warm-up was over.
Firing [UP2] Dark Beam at Scallio 7,067 damage coming his way 1/3 KP
His throw against Auber hadn't been as effective as he'd of liked. His fellow Saiyan quickly correcting himself in the air, and swiftly sliding across the ground. Scallio frowned and began to charge his foe impulsively. That had been Scallio's first major mistake. He'd only just caught a glimpse of the energy charging within Auber's palm. Scallio's mad rush towards the Saiyan afforded him little time to form a counterattack. He could only brace himself for the impact of the Dark Beam. Scallio came to a sudden stop, tossing his hands up in front of him. The attack, like a comet of and dark-purple energy, rocketed towards Scallio. His teeth grinding against's one another as the blast collided against his open palms.
The force of the impact and pure power behind the beam caused forced the Saiyan backward. His face scowled, a white-hot sensation of pain radiated from his hands and up through both of his arms. This attack was far stronger than the one Auber had released before. He could feel the intensity behind in his bones. It rattled to him his core. And for the first time since the fight had started Scallio made an audible sound of pain. "Gaaah!" the scream bellowed from his gut and echoed around the ruins. Scallio felt his knees buckle under the pressure of the attack as he fought against it. Attempting to stop it from consuming the entirety of his body. The sound of his yell increased in size as he struggled against the Dark Beam.
"I..." he pushed forward, the beam of energy moving backward as he did so. "can..." he continued forward, biting back the pain in his body. "DO THIS!" he yelled out, a wealth of strength surging forth from his body. In a display of Saiyan, might and power Scallio's hands tightened around the beam of energy. His face straining and sweat beating down from his brow. Scallio's muscles tightened and strained as he flung the Dark Beam upward into the sky. The damage of the attack had already been done. But at least he had prevented it from overtaking him fully. His moment of victory over the attack was short-lived, however. Auber gave him no time to adjust to the new strain on his body. He pushed forward with a fury of blows that Scallio couldn't defend against.
The final ki blast from Auber's assault of blows sent Scallio flying backward. His body coming to a stop as it collided into one of the ruined buildings. A crater left in the building from the impact of his body. A further surge of pain jetted through his body but he fought it back. The Saiyan groaned as he pulled himself from the rubble and debris. He was wounded but it was nothing that was going to stop him from continuing the fight. Things were just getting interesting after all. A little bit of damage wasn't going to make him back down now. Despite the pain that he was in Scallio found himself letting out a laugh. One that didn't stop until he was back at his original position near Auber.
"You're such a powerful warrior Auber. The ferocity of your attacks reminds me of someone from my past." the Saiyan spat blood onto the ground. "It be an honor to have a Saiyan such as yourself apart of my mercenaries." he grinned, but such talk wasn't meant for the battlefield. As he finished speaking Scallio began to move again. A sudden burst of speed being given as he quickly made his way around Auber from the left. Firing off blasts of ki as he made his way behind the Saiyan. Once there Scallio attempted to do the unthinkable. The one thing any Saiyan without proper training to control it was wary of in combat.
He reached out to grab hold of Auber's tail, rendering him paralyzed should the grab succussed.
Scallio's taken some serious damage from the Dark Beam and Auber's assualt.
Thankful he's a hardy fellow.
Scallio is attempting to grab Auber's tail! Oh no!
Quite unfortunate that Scallio made the mistake of charging head-on into the beam, Auber expected to see a bruised man on the rocky grounds but was instead surprised that his foe flung it at the atmosphered, how impressive, even if the damage was done, it still didn't stop him from being beaten by Auber's following attacks, sending him straight into a ruined building.
The saiyan chuckled as Scallio complimented his strength and expressed his honour of having Auber in his mercenary crew "And I would be just as honoured to be a part of it, but I have other plans, I'm certain your crew of warriors will thrive just fine without me." He explained, arms crossed before Scallio rose and went on the offensive once more.
He was firing ki blasts, normal blasts, Auber either swiped them away or dodged them with ease, he did this before as a distraction, lo and behold, Scallio was going around him as he did so, presumably after his tail, Auber decided to humour him and allow him to grab onto his tail.
Instead of him getting paralysed like Scallio expected, Auber only chuckled out loud "Fluffly, isn't it?" He joked before the tail coiled itself around his foe's hand, and as if he had an extra limb, Auber attempted to fling Scallio at the same ruined structure as before, his tail going back to wrapping itself around his waist.
His plan hadn't worked out the way he had hoped it would. A fact he became aware the moment his hand tightened around Auber's tail. Expectations of tail induced paralysis were not met, but rather a cheeky remark was given. Regret was the only thing Scallio felt at that moment. The Saiyan quickly attempted to remove his hand from Auber's tail but he hadn't been quick enough. It curled and tightened around it. With a level of strength that Scallio hadn't been expecting. "I don't suppose you'll just let me go?" he asked but he already knew the answer. Without a moment of hesitation Auber went to send Scallio flying with his tail. Directly towards the building that Scallio had just climbed himself out of.
Unlike before, however, Scallio managed to correct himself in the air. Stopping himself before he came close to crashing back into the building. Arms spread out and palms facing backward, Scallio released a burst of ki from his palms. Using the momuntum from the blast to rocket himself back towards Auber at an astounding speed. He spun in the air as he did so, bringing his leg up midspin and releasing another burst of ki from the sole of his foot. Adding a further layer of toruqe and force into a kick that was aimed at the side of Auber's head. Regardless of if it hit or not Scallio would follow it up with a forceful kick from his other foot. This one aimed at the top portion of Auber's chest. If it landed he would use the force provided to kick off and away from Auber a short distance.
It was disappointing that Scallio didn't exhibit a reaction that lived up to Auber's expectations, oh well, someone with his level of power would have known about the tail weakness being taken care of, so he can't beat the bush too much, still it leaves a sore feeling.
His foe took the opportunity to rocket back at him with momentum, Auber jumped, attempting to get above him in mid-air before aiming his palm at him to the saiyan beneath him, his hand crackling with dark-purple energy as the same beam from which his opponent faced earlier was now aiming to engulf his back.
Afterwards, he charged at his enemy, applying a barrage of punches and kicks that aimed for his face and any areas above his shoulders, when all was said and done, he would seek to grab Scallio by the leg with the usage of his tail and then slam him onto the rocky grounds repeatedly.
He knew Scallio was gonna counter after getting up, so Auber backed away and shot a vast amount of ki blasts at the area his foe would be in, aiming to coat him in rains upon rains of ki fury, the purpose of this was to simply be a finishing for his combo.
"I don't know, are you?"
Firing Dark Beam 7,067 damage coming your way 0/3 KP
Last Edit: Feb 15, 2019 18:34:04 GMT -6 by Auber: I forgot to replyyyy
"Damn!" Auber's reaction time had been quicker than Scallio imagined it would be. Even with the added boost in speed from his bursts of ki. His Saiyan opponent had managed to jump up and out of the way of his kicks. This left Scallio with no choice but to react to his foe once again. Something he was growing increasingly tired with. He glanced upward and could see the purple hue of energy charging within the palm of Auber's hands. "Not this time." he knew what was coming and wasn't going to take a blow like that again. Just seconds before Auber fired off his Dark Beam, Scallio unleashed a technique of his own. He bellowed a mighty roar from deep within his gut. An orange barrier of ki erupted to life around the Saiyan's body. How effective Warrior's Bastion would prove against the Dark Beam was a toss-up. But deflecting some of the damage was better than taking all of it.
The ki beam slammed against the top of Scallio's defensive bubble and pushed him down onto the ground. The collision had just started and Scallio could already feel his bastion struggling. This technique of Auber's was impressive. Just from how it felt to be hit by he could deal it was superior to his own Siege Cannon. But to be able to handle Warrior's Bastion so effectively as well? It was a powerhouse move. And a reminder to Scallio that he needed to work on improving the power of his techniques.
He gritted his teeth and glared up towards the top of his barrier. Cracks were starting to form in it and would only be a matter of time before the beam broke through. He needed to brace himself to take a portion of the hit. He placed his forearms up above his head and crossed them together in an x-shape. What followed after was the sound of glass shattering. Scallio's barrier had been ripped apart but it had at least done its job. As the leftover energy from the Dark Beam hit against Scallio's forearms. The sting of pain it produced was far less than it had been originally. He smirked clearly proud of his success. Thanks to the time bought by his technique Scallio was also able to react properly to the assault that followed the beam. Blocking each one of Auber's blows with ease as they were made against him.
Likely seeing that his assault wasn't working Scallio watched as Auber darted backward. Unleashing a torrent of ki as he moved to make his escape from him. Scallio pursed and recklessly plowed his way through Auber's ki blasts. The raging aura of orange that surrounded his body working to lessen the damage of the blasts. "You can't escape from me that easily." he taunted. Scallio then moved to perform a flurry of punches and kicks against his foe. The combination of blows would end with Scallio attempting to slam his knee directly into Auber's gut. Followed by bringing his hands, interlocked together, down towards his back like a hammer.
[B1] Warrior's Bastion used to defend against [UA2] Dark Beam.
Dark Beam beat Warrior's Bastion but Scallio was within 60% of the attack's PL. Only took 3,533PL of the original 7,067PL.
