In such an utterly insane world, it made sense to want to try to make sense of what you knew. Nashi knew a few things in particular that he never quite understood, principle among them being: the Power Pole, the fact that all odd numbers had ‘e’ in them, the degree of sentience of Flying Nimbi (that was the plural and you couldn’t convince Nashi otherwise!) and how the voice in his head could never actually change in volume.
And, so, in a perhaps misguided attempt to understand some of these things, Nashi had decided to go to his local library, his local library being dozens of kilometres directly above him. Or, at least that was his assumption? He’d tried checking out the insides of the Lookout once and got lost in a weird maze of mirrors that didn’t quite sit right with his instincts for some reason. But not this time! This time, he had a reason for being there!
And so he sought, and so he found.
Nashi entered the library— or, at least he assumed it was a library, judging by the walls that looked to be almost made of books— and would begin to try to look for books whose titles seemed relevant to his deficiencies in understanding.
But now, the question was, was he alone?
For the sake of the time-space continuum, this takes place shortly before the Hearts at the End of Time: Redux™.

Some may say that the more one knew, the less they knew. It was because the search for knowledge and growth of one’s understanding depended on not knowing things. It was thankfully not a vicious cycle, perhaps an inconvenient one at most times, but not vicious.
Now, Nashi was in fact not alone. Another seeker of magical knowledge had already arrived on the Lookout a few hours ago and resumed their studies inside the library of this holy place. It was none other than Tysco— the one that inherited an old hero’s journal of mysticism. The journal in question was helpful and had some unique information and perspective, but it was also a collection of information from multiple sources. One such source was the Timeless Lookout library too! So, to that end, Tysco wanted to study in this library, cross reference his research and note his own findings inside the magical journal that continued to conjure extra pages whenever needed...
Tysco whistled away while researching, only breaking his focus when he sensed another power arrive on the Lookout. It wasn’t familiar in how it felt, but soon enough the one who had this power entered the library! They were the blue cat-guy, someone that frequented this place from what what Tysco was told in passing, but the studious nerd couldn’t put the face to any name! “Oh! Uh, hey there. I don’t think we’ve actually met before? I’m Tysco, by the way.”

Myu's PL: 40,000/120,000
Well, there was another person roaming the libraries too, and it was a certain pink cat majin thing, floating around and looking at the various shelves within the library. To be honest, this place felt like a maze! But uh, a not very good maze. Myu decided to come to the library in search for a certain blue cat, and somehow she ended up in the Lookout’s library. Since she was already here, she might as well just have a look around, believing that a little tour around the place didn’t hurt all too much. Plus she might find herself a nice little book to read… er, could she read? Myu was pretty forgetful on whether or not she could do things, but she didn’t really mind going out and trying anyways. If Nashi was around (and if there were any books with pictures in them), she’ll have him read it… hopefully!
The majin would continue floating around the place, but after a moment or two of looking, she would just begin walking around instead. She glanced left and right at the shelves, her mouth agape as she looked at all the neat-looking books that were in them. But as she kept walking and walking, she would hear a voice… a new voice! Myu stopped in her tracks, blinking. “Who’s that? Myu says hi! Hi new person!” Her voice was more than likely heard by the two, but if that didn’t get her presence known, then this will. The majin would suddenly hover herself back in the air, cranking her flying into max overdrive as she flew through the library! It only took a minute for her to find both Tysco and Nashi, and with a shrill scream, she would approach them. “Nashi! Somebody-Myu-Doesn’t-Know! Hi, hi!” She would float herself to the ground, beginning to bounce around the two excitedly. “Myu was looking around! She found library! She wants a book! With pictures! All pictures!” She would then look towards Tysco, waving at him with a pink, stubby hand. “Hi, hi! Myu’s name is Myu! Myu, Myu! What is man’s name? Myu wants to know!”

Nashi was under no false preconception that he’d ever know anything. There was a lot he didn’t know, and there was yet still a lot he wouldn’t know even had he known a lot more. He’d aim to learn when there was something he needed to know, and was consistently confident in that which he did know all the while. Not because he was an idiot, but because he was happy not being the smartest. Nashi was not alone in this. Not in his manner of thinking, no, and not in the library either.
Nashi pretended not to be surprised. He failed, given that he dropped the book he was holding (though managed to grab it again before it hit the ground). He turned around to see the stranger. He was orange… not a good sign. ”WhyyeshellopersonitisIafellowpersonwouldyoulikesomecabbage— I mean, er, hi!”
Lemme just slow down there a tad.
”Howdy there, Tysco. I’m—”
And then Myu Myu’d in Myu-ily.
”Well, time for introductions.” Ahem. ”Myu, this is Tysco. As you can see, he’s orange. Tysco, as you heard, I’m Nashi. I’m the Senbyō, which means I’m a cat with a Tower and a stick, in essence.” He referred downwards (the Tower) and to the Power Pole (which, fun fact, doubled as a stick).
Now that Myu was here, Nashi’s mission was to divert. He came here to learn but, now, he needed to cater to the Majin. Nashi looked back to the books, but saw only ancient lore and unknowable secrets. Boring. ”... Nothing for you here, Myu.” He turned to the galline demon. ”Hey, er, Tysco. You prolly frequent the library a lot more than I do, right?” Then he asked a question he hadn’t asked in longer than a year; more than half his life. ”Would you happen to know where the kid’s section is? If there is one?”

Apparently Nashi wasn’t necessarily expecting anyone to be here. Tysco couldn’t exactly blame him, but that motormouth streak caused the young man to rapidly blink in confusion as an initial response. “Cabbages?” Tysco raised a brow as a cabbage suddenly fwoomf’d into existence after a mystical sparkle after he twirled one of his hands “Heheh, nah, sup.” Tysco chuckled, dispelling the magical insta-cabbage. “I hope I didn’t startle you, apologies if I did.” He added, offering a friendly smile— his eye frills flared up happily as he did so.
Moments later, another had arrived— one far more bouncy in movement and disposition compared to Nashi and Tysco. It was a tiny feline-esque creature, and Tysco noted the magic of the little one’s Ki, it felt similar to the vibe of Majin Ki. Interesting! “Hello there Myu, I’m Tysco!” He said, smile still present from before.
Tysco raised an eyebrow at Nashi. What was the problem with orange? “Yeah, and you’re blue, whats your point?” He asked, honestly expecting some sort of ignorance. At least it was about his aesthetic choices than some garbage about being a half-demon. That thought was filed away for the moment, since Nashi mentioned some rather interesting things about himself. “Senbyō, oh like of Korin’s tower?” Well, right there was a hook of knowledge for Nashi to react to!
“Yeah, basically. I’m kind of a huge nerd?” Tysco chuckled to himself. Speaking of reading material for the youthful, perhaps not all was lost. “A kids section? Hmm. Let me see.” With the snap of a finger, another tome was revealed from a capsule on Tysco’s belt. It was quite a mystical book, it was the journal he inherited! Within seconds he flipped through over a thousand pages with his magics, but the book didn’t look nearly big enough to have that many pages! “Here we go. Its three rows down that way and on the left according to the journal.” Tysco put his journal away and cleaned up his research station for the moment. Collecting up the other books he moved to properly put them away. “We can go over there together to see if its any good if you’d like?”

Soon enough the majin feline would stop bouncing up and down, beginning to calm herself a little bit so she could listen to the two. She would go ahead and listen to Nashi, who stated that this stranger was none other than Tysco! He was also orange, which was a pretty neat detail she didn’t notice until it was mentioned. “Oooooh…” Unlike Nashi, she was a little fascinated by Tysco’s color, even going as far as to hover herself up in the air so she could get a better look at him. With a slight tilt of her head, she would beam the half-demon a smile, “Hi, Tysco!” She would turn towards Nashi however whenever he said that there wasn’t any books for her to read! Aw, phooey. She was really hoping to look at some really neat pictures and not read at the silly scribbles that were usually below or next to the pictures… or better yet, a whole page of scribbles right next to the pictures! Yuck!. But hey, picture book or not, she was willing to have some of these books read to her! Because if she could remember correctly, she couldn’t read! Well, she really didn’t try to read, so she could probably do that.
Myu would go and lower herself back on the floor, standing on her rabbit-like feet as she stared up at the two. If she couldn’t read anything, then might as well hang around with these guys, right? Nashi was fun to be around, and maybe the orange guy, Tysco, might be as well! Her eyes grew wide however once she heard Nashi’s question… a kid’s section? Wow! Wait, what was a kid’s section? Was she a kid? She blinked a few times and thought about it, but she would still feel excited anyways. “Kid’s section! Kid’s section!” Myu repeated, jumping a couple of times before stopping to look at Tysco, awaiting his answer. Myu watched as a the orange man went and flipped over some sort of book, and… it looked like it had more than 10 pages! Wow! This book must have a lot of neat stuff in it! Myu would slowly hover up over to Tysco’s shoulder, sort of eyeing at his book and watching as he flipped through tons and tons of pages.
Soon enough, he would finally answer Nashi’s question! Myu would smile wide and hover over to Nashi, pointing towards where Tysco said to go. “Let’s go! Let’s go! Myu want a book!” She said to the blue cat, using her other stubby hand to tug on his shirt. Though whenever Tysco offered to go with her and Nashi, she would stop, nodding. “Yes, yes! Myu wants orange man to come! Let’s go, let’s go!” She giggled, floating there in the air as she waited for the two to lead the way.

Tysco cabbaged a cabbage into cabbage, and then uncabbaged the cabbage into that which is not cabbage. Nashi didn’t necessarily have anything against the colour orange. After all, it wasn’t his fault that it was the worst colour. ”’Korin’s Tower’? It hasn’t been called that in millenia, but yeah, that’s the one.” Actually, that wasn’t strictly true. It had been called ’Korin’s Tower’ commonly only a few centuries before, and even more commonly ’Korin Tower’, but the only non-idiot from that time-period was Quince so that didn’t especially count for much. ”I don’t exactly have the same fame as my predecessors… yet… so I just call it ‘Senbyō’s Tower’, ‘Senbyō Tower’ or simply ‘the Tower’. Always capitalised, though!” But it brought into question: how did this guy know to make that connection, and why did he calle it Korin’s? He must have been quite knowledgeable of the archaic period, Nashi assumed. Oh, right. The kid’s’ ‘secti’on. ”Ah, yes, OK. Thanks!” A kids section, legally defined as the space in which kids are sovereign, was precisely what Myu was in want of, and precisely what Tysco could supply (the information to get there). Nashi would follow Tysco’s directions and, unless something truly terrible happened on the way, made it there successfully and safely and, most of all, not as a corpse. ”Ah, yes, a kid’s book…” Most people were of the opinion that stories came in cycles and heroes’ journeys and one of a few of ur-stories because the makers of the story made it like that for the purposes of entertainment; this is false. Stories tended to those patterns because reality tended to those patterns, and because stories are indicative of reality. So, Nashi decided, why not try to find a book about something that he knew actually, definitely happened? ”How about this one, Myu?” He’d choose a thin book, and read out its title: ”’Mister Satan’s Journey to the Heavens’.” The cover had Mister Satan (with exaggerated hair, a chin that reached halfway down his chest, a moustache that ended at his waist and with a chest far wider than it was tall) flying on a yellow cloud and with a staff in his hands that was clearly meant to be the Power Pole, but illustrated by a person who mustn’t have known what the Power Pole was supposed to look like.

“A millenia huh? Suuuure~” Tysco gave a knowing wink. Being a massive magic related history buff, especially as a result of doing research here and through the special journal he inherited. There wasn’t actually much detail on Korin’s tower in terms of who looked after it besides.. Well, the fact it was called ‘Korin’s tower’, so it was obviously once tended to by a Korin. Mysteriously, the tower below the lookout was always looked after, other than that things were vague. Tysco was glad that there was always someone there to take care of an important part of mystical history. “Mhm!” Tysco nodded in agreement to Nashi’s statement of the Tower’s importance. “Capital T, all the way dude.”
Now the trio had other matters to attend to, Myu was really excited to read some kid’s books and Tysco found that insatiable curiosity admirable. Nashi was quick to pick out a book, ‘Mister Satan’s Journey to the Heavens’, it was something of a classic tale. However, like Nashi, Tysco thought something was kinda off about the illustration. Out of respect for Myu’s excitement, Tysco chose to not mention it. “Yee, I reckon that’s a good one. You can start showing Myu that one and I’ll look for some others that might be cool to show off. Sound good, Nashi?”

Myu would go ahead and follow the blue cat around, and she wouldn’t really say anything about the Tower… er, Korin’s Tower? Senby… Tower? The tower with a capital T! Yeah, uh, she kinda just zoned out on that, not really finding that the least bit interesting, or at least, she just didn’t understand it. But she did know that Nashi’s place was what they were mentioning, and she just called it whatever she wanted to… like the Tower! Korin sounds like a weird name anyways, and whatever Nashi calls it was even weirder, but cooler, in Myu’s perspective. But anyways, it was about time that they began their journey for a book. Myu just tilted her head from side to side curiously, hovering behind Nashi and looking around at all the books. Once they stopped however, the majin would hover over Nashi’s shoulder, tilting her head to the side as she curiously looked at the book Nashi held out. “Woooow! Wow, wow! What’s Heaven? Satan? Journey? Why journey? That’s weird but cool! Very cool! Myu likes this!” She would float herself in front of the Earthling, taking the book from his hands and holding it out in front of her.
The majin would let out a hum as she stared at the cover, squinting her eyes just a little bit before proceeding to shove the book against her face. Slowly, it would begin to get engulfed into her, her gummy flesh seemingly stretching around the thin book before suddenly disappearing inside the majin. Her body wasn’t deformed or anything from that, looking as if nothing just happened. “Wow! Book was cool! Was that how Myu reads? Myu found out she can do stuff and POOF inside body! It very neat! Cool, yes, yes? It makes Myu know cool stuff when she does it! She thinks, hehe!” Myu would giggle, hovering herself down to the floor before pointing in front of her. “Myu wanna read more books! That book was very cool!”

Sometimes Nashi considered if the capital T wasn’t enough. Perhaps it was more fitting to simply insert a pictogram of the Tower, at 1:1 scale, into your speech. Or, at least a Tower with a big ’t’. Like… Tower.
”Hmm? Yeah, sure, OK.” Nashi would read through ‘Mister Satan’s Journey to the Heavens’ while the Tysco dude looked for some more books.
Nashi opened the book, where the first page was basically just another front-cover. The next page had a bunch of weird legal information, the one after that had a weird, one-sentence dedication and the one after that had a chapter list! Jeesh, it’s like they’ve forgotten to put a book in this book. Myu took the book and would admire the cover. ”Heaven is where the especially morally good and heroic people go after they die. I’ve been there… the flowers are all right, but the ice-cream stalls are in need of improvement.” What else did she ask? OH! ”And Mister Satan is Earth’s greatest hero, of all time, ever! Second only to me, of course.” Though they didn’t name a city after Nashi. Yet.
And then Myu just straight-up went on and did it: she read the book. Or, at least, she absorbed the information… and the book. ”Oh, well, er… I was gonna read it to you, but that works too also I guess? Do you, er, ‘remember’ what happened in the book?”
Nashi looked over to Tysco. ”Perhaps find some more expendable books… nothing rare? Yeah.”

“Word.” Tysco gave Nashi a double pistols gesture as he looked through a few nearby kids books, while also keeping a watchful eye on the other two; just in case Myu did something silly— not only was she a little baby-child, she was also a Majin, and Tysco knew a fair bit about how Majins develop since they were magical beings and magic was his area of expertise!
Lo and behold, just after Nashi had explained a few things to the excited Myu, she did as a Majin would do— she ‘read’ the book by absorbing the book. Tysco glanced over to Nashi. “I dunno what you expected, but that was on my list of things that could maybehaps happen. Uhhh.” He paused looking through the stack of children’s books for something similarly expendable; maybe even a book he knew he could procure a second copy of just like the one Myu just slurped into her very being.
“Just a seconnnddd... Aha! Here we go.” Tysco gently procured a relatively worn out book. He dusted the cover off before reading out the title and handing it to Nashi. “‘the Small Gargoyle’.” It had a sort of pastel colour scheme to it, and on the cover was an old castle in the clouds; to the left of the castle there was a very old and gruff looking female gargoyle wielding a weirdly drawn interpretation of a legendary Bansho Fan, and on the right side of the castle was a brightly coloured yet suspicious looking druid that looked just a tad too happy about something. In the middle of the cover was a younger gargoyle, somewhere in his teenage years sitting in a tree with a human girl of the same age. “It's the written novel of the kids movie with the same name, this cover references the animation too.” Thank goodness for that, because it was a very common version to find.
