The stage was set and finished, all the lights and cameras were ready, and the stands were built and tickets sold. Most of the participants had come in advance and were simply waiting for the opening ceremonies and to start their fights. "It's almost that time fans! The combatants are preparing for battle, and we are less than 24 hours away from kicking off the first annual Muscle Tower Tag Team Tournament! Will the following combatants please make their way to their designated areas. All fights will be taking place on the same large stage area, so it is best to familiarize yourself now with your designated area of the stage."
Nashi @watanabekyabe Vetur Cold
Fights will officially start when I post and announce the official start. Feel free to post and trash talk, strategize, etc until then.
Due to some unfortunate stuff with Nashi's partner going MIA he was given my partner to compromise. However Vetur Cold has volunteered to be my partner so the match doesn't stay a 1v2.

Most of the participants had gathered by now and only a single chopper was up ahead surveying the area as the others hadn't shown up just yet. In the dead of night and quiet of the desert and loud whirring sound could be heard by all in the area as the roof of Muscle tower began to lower with a loud mechanical sound. Up in the sky firework began to go off and from the sides of the tower up above the seats for the audience speakers began to appear from the sides of the tower as the sounds of a single guitar note blared outward. The roof of Muscle Tower began to raise once more and a top the large tower being raised into the sky was a full band. An Arcosian on drums, a Namekian on guitar, a Saiyan on bass, and a human lead singer. From the center of the stage a larger platform raised above them showing Hale holding a microphone. "Welcome all participants, audience members, and all of those of you watching from home. This is your thirty minute warning to get warmed up and once the clock runs down it is time to fight!" The band on top of the tower began to play loudly as the platform Hale stood on lowered back into the tower. You can now start posting to fight as of this post. ---------------------------------------------------- As per normal rules you have 48 hours to post or you shall be skipped
The first round will end the 16th of February and I will announce here when that time is up. I will be making any final decisions on matches if that is necessary except for my own which I will choose a third party again if necessary.
The posting orders will be as follows:
Nashi - Hale - Kyabe - Vetur Cold
Ring outs are allowed but keep in mind the stage is massive so you will have to try hard in order to do so. If you have any further questions pm me on discord as that's the easiest way for me to see it to respond.
This is a NON-DE but all rules for KP are suggested and enforced. As stated in the original post, no healing items are allowed such as Senzu or Hetap (or healing items specific to androids or minions). All other items are allowed and though I don't believe it is relevant, the healing racial is allowed.

At approximately a time, half past another time, at night-time hours passed not night-time, there existed a moon. This moon was beyond Nashi, for it was night, and especially not day.
As music played on and camera crews watched on, waiting, Nashi was the first to touch down into the arena. He was told that he and Kyabe were to down down Hale and… some other dude, ‘Vetter’ or something like that.
He brought the Power Pole out and entered a martial stance, preparing for some combat.
Get smekt, donglers PL: 210,000 [3/3KP]
Nashi's Items are: Armour, the Power Pole and the Senzu Bonsai. In this part of the story, Nashi does not have his Bonsai IC, so the effect will be flavoured as if he had bought one small/rotten/not-as-good senzu bean for the Tournament.

70,000 PL 3/3 KP Items: Bloody Ruby Pendant - Battle armor
Remember that your senzu wouldn't be usable by tournament rules as stated above. The introductions to the crowd had been made, the cameras were on, and Hale dropped his microphone. Casually Hale exited Muscle Tower under the stage where the large locker room style setup was, though for now no one else knew about it but him. flying around and up the side of the tall wall that was the stage, he headed toward where he saw Nashi standing and landed next to him with a grin. "Well hey there. You ready to do this?" Giving him a nod as he walked past and across from him, looking for Nashi's partner and his own partner, one he had met in Kyabe, but the other he hadn't met up to this point. He could see most of the others were ready to start their own fights at the same time, some looking confused that they would all be fighting on the same giant stage at the same time, causing Hale to chuckle a bit looking back, paying little attention to the crowd or who they might be cheering at. His attention focused on Nashi as he took a deep breath and crossed his arms. "By all means, after you two." Mimicking the stereotypical Arcosian tropes and giving a deep bow.

Game time!Kyabe ran out onto the stage after Nashi, Hale and Vetur. Joining his ally and standing beside him, standing proud and waving all around to the crowds, as well as the cameras and cameramen. Grinning from ear to ear, Kyabe looked all around and issued out thumbs ups, poses, and peace signs. Peace signs and the alternate V for Victory hand sign. "Haha, yeaaah!" He called out, flaring up his Ki a little more than usual to get himself all the more excited and pumped up. Looking to Nashi, Kyabe nodded. "Oi, Sensei. Ready?" He asked, his attention turning to Hale and Vetur. "Heeey! Good luck, 'kay?" Kyabe's tone was genuine and joyous. Not a hint of malicious intent in his voice and simply excitement and anticipation oozing from his very being. Furrowing his brow, Kyabe distanced himself from Nashi just a little. Mimicking his teacher, he entered his own battle stance. One that was similar to his allies, though it lacked the obvious power pole. Serious now, Kyabe awaited Vetur's own introduction. "You're mine," He stated. Almost warning Vetur ahead of time that he'd be targeting him exclusively until it was decided who'd win between the two weaker powers. Vetur Cold

Vetur had watched the different ways each person entered the arena, some were relaxed and others more flashy. Stepping into the ring Vetur walked calmly towards his partner, giving his opponent a brief nod. Though he had never met any of them he had chosen to go his second form which was two inches taller putting him at five feet ten inches. His limbs usually corded muscles bulge with increased strength. Once he gave his respects to his partner he turned to his opponent. His right food slid around from his front to his back in a half moon, his right foot facing north east while his left foot faced north, his knees slightly bent.
"What you say to no beams and blasts? hand to hand only." He asked his opponent.

”Ready to beat you up again, you mean? Always!” Quips, as Nashi had known for the vast majority of his life, were a vitally important part of any battle. Not just because they lowered the morale of the enemy, but also because… well, they’re quips. Did anything else need to be said? Hale most of all was sure to understand, given the performances he was wont to enact.
There was some other space lizard zoanthrope before… Kyabe! He knew he was being paired with Kyabe but, still, it was good to see him in another context. ”Ready? I’m never not!” Except when he was, in which was he was.
That Vetter guy and Kyabe seemed to edge in on the other, as if the two were natural opponents. Nashi didn’t doubt; it made sense, within the context of the match, for that meant that he was to face off against Hale. And that, he knew from past experience, was a (mostly) even match.
”They grow up so fast,” joked Nashi to Hale, in referral to the other two.
He began to swing the Power Pole around, and threw it around a bit too, to elicit some sheers from the audience, before placing it away in its little scabbardthing. His hands now free, he entered the familiar Leopard Kung Fu stance. His right arm was held facing upwards, his hand curved like a leopard’s paw in defence. Except, for the leopard, there is no defence; if soon to be struck, one does not block but strike at their hand instead. Nashi momentarily flexed his wrists (as quick movements of the wrists was instrumental to the style) and prepared his mind for the skill he’d need to face off against what could very easily be a more powerful opponent. ”This is Leopard Kung Fu. Sorta unconventional, which is why I haven’t tried to teach my students it yet, I’ve been practising with it for only a month less than I’ve been alive.” Ignoring that one time he died, of course. It helps when your mother’s job is martial arts instructor and she specialises in the style. ”How about we follow our teammates? No beams, no blasts. Heck it, let’s throw in no flying. Fist to fist, with maybe some tail in there too.”
Perhaps ‘fist to fist’ wasn’t an accurate way to put it. Nashi was instead to use Leopard Blows; good at close range, good at punishing attempts at attack (which was well suited to the other facets of Nashi’s combat) and for hitting vital areas. But, on the other hand, if careless, it was quite easy to hurt yourself with. But Nashi wasn’t going to be careless.
He’d edge forwards, making unpredictable dashes: they were usually two forwards one back to get closer in range, but the distance covered by these dashes and sometimes the consecutivity of them would vary so that Hale couldn’t find a rhythm and punish it. ”Come on, then, Hale. This is your Tournament, so give us a show!”
Hale, I propose we flavour all ki attacks/shields/afterimages/whatever as good ol’ martial arts, like in was back in Dragon Ball Classic. Is that cool by you?
In other news, I've put this in justified font. Does it look better, worse? Tell, please!

It wasn't hard to tell these guys were ready to fight, but out of the three, and to no surprise, Kyabe was the most excited to get things started. He only partially knew what to expect of the young Saiyan, and he had an idea of what was to come given his previous outing with Nashi, but he truthfully had no idea what to expect of his teammate. It was rather last minute that he had one at all so neither were given time to even as much as greet each other until now, but seeing another Arcosian standing by him gave him a slight chuckle at how that much have looked to others. He flashed a slight grin towards Kyabe and gave him a thumb up. "Good luck to you too, kid. Make sure to stay focused." He gave Vetur a heavy nod and simply motioned towards Kyabe with his head without a word.
It was clear he had missed something with the way Kyabe treated and addressed Nashi as it seemed one was training the other, but it seemed fitting given what he knew of the two. It seemed however that his partner and Kyabe were set on facing each other for the time being, putting a wide grin on his face as he looked over at Nashi. "Is that what you thought that was?", rubbing the back of his neck as he looked around for a moment at some of the other fights going on around them. He looked back to the other two and laughed to himself at Nashi's comment with a nod, stretching and jumping on his toes to loosen up. "I should have given myself more time to stretch between the announcing. Had to rush out here."
Hale watched Nashi's display, noticing he seemed a bit more showy than he was before, likely for good reason given the crowd. Despite the surprising amount that had shown up and his history with large crowds, he seemed to be altogether tuning them out himself and looked like he might actually take this seriously. "Fine by me. Guess I gotta take this a bit more seriously then, huh?" Taking in a long slow breath he screamed out just a moment later and didn't try playing around or going through some silly transformation progression as he had in their previous fight when he showed off his monster form. In a moment of explosive green light, he came out the other side of it in his true form, standing around a few inches over six foot and looking ready to fight.
His eyes fixated on Nashi as he rushed forward in a way that he at least was expecting given their previous head to head, but without a volley of his blue bro attacks he had to admit there was a lot he was likely to not expect. "I have to warn you, friend, I'm a lot stronger than the last time we fought. But if it is a show you want, then a show you'll get" Taking a heavy step forward he stopped and grinned to himself. "Ya know, maybe we really should put on a show here. We are the main attraction after all." With a heavy growl he began to flex his muscles as his fists clenched, and his body began to bulk up to a significant degree, which was saying something given his normal physique , and by the time he had straightened up he was looking like a beast of himself as far as his muscle size was concerned. He started to laugh loud enough for everyone in the area to hear as he stomped down his foot, leaving an imprint on the stage as he looked over to Nashi, and lowered his head, suddenly charging forward as fast as his tree trunk sized legs would allow.
I dig it.
And it looks fine to me either way.

"Ah, getting bigger already, eh?" Kyabe commented, noting Vetur's larger than life stature. Well, that only made things all the more interesting and challenging, really. Nothing wrong with that, either. If anything, it simply meant that Kyabe would have to play things a little smarter than normal, as well as fight more efficiently and use everything he had learned from his teacher to it's fullest, most useful potential. Truth be said, the idea of his opponent transforming again and again just excited him even more and more! Reason being, it meant he'd only get stronger! Which then translated into a harder challenge and so on. It was perfect. Nodding, Kyabe agreed to his opponent's request. No Ki blasts, flying, or fireballs whatsoever. Just a regular, run of the mill martial arts competition. Well, those were always the most fun, and if anything at all, it meant that Kyabe and his opponent were in for a nice, fun and fair fight. "Yeah, I like the sound of that." Kyabe smiled wide. Without another word, Kyabe was swift to give a readied nod towards Vetur. Dashing forward, he threw all of himself into Vetur. Kyabe's goal was to shoulder press his opponent and begin a flurry of punches. Hoping to get an exchange going. He also had an ulterior plan in his head that would likely be used in the direst of situations. After all, they did say ring outs were legal so long as they were done fairly right?! Vetur Cold / HaleKyabe's going first! Throwing himself into Vetur and using a flurry of punches!

Vetur watched his opponent, eyes flicking over the Saiyans entire form as he waited for the tell that always came before the first attack. The push from the back foot which gave speed. Stepping back he avoided the shoulder press, his left hand came straight up, blocking his opponents first punch and moving the hand out of the flurry circulation. His body stepped into the warriors undefended side, his left foot doing a half moon slide behind the leg of Kyabe limiting the movement options. On the side where Vetur had knocked the hand away, Vetur struck with a swift elbow aiming for the Saiyans temple, his tail striking like a serpent for Kyabe's ribs on the opposite side. Using the side of the tail which had also increased in size and power from his second form.
He had chosen to use the Saiyans reputation for aggressive combat in his favor, his enemy had done just what he expected, focusing on power and offense rather than balanced fighting like Vetur chose to do . An aggressive style was perfect soldiers in all out street fights or brawls but against tactical martial arts it was a severe disadvantage. The Arcosian had chosen his muscle form for just that reason. His own strikes would be stronger and training in this form had given him the finesse and speed to make it balanced. The larger muscle mass also gave a extra cushion to defense and weight. Making his blows not only stronger but heavier.

With a burst of energy roughly equivalent to the energy released by opening a can of soft drink, Hale transformed into the true form Nashi had only seen once before.
He was truly massive— not to imply that he wasn’t massive before— but what made it worse was that all of that mass was heading towards Nashi at quite a pace!
It would be unfair to call this a matter of brains vs brawn. Skill versus brute force, perhaps?
”Not exactly what I meant when I said ‘give us a show’... actually it’s more like you’re skipping right to the end, but, yeah, sure. That works also.” Did that count as a taunt? Perhaps. If Hale was getting right to the nitty-gritty, Nashi might have to supply the entertainment value himself. After all, was that not the point of the tournament? It wasn’t to find out who was stronger, which was why they were arranged (seemingly if not in actuality) randomly, so it must have been for the audience. That’s what Nashi thought of it, anyway. ”It just means Kyabe and I get to win sooner!” He rearranged the placement of the fingers on his right palm so that instead of merely a paw, they formed a ‘claw’ formation. Then, nary a moment later, the paw returned.
”Don’t be so sure of yourself, Hale. I have also gained in power since the last time we met!” He hadn’t really, but shh roll with it.
Nashi wasn’t so sure in his victory. Against Hale’s Brute or Monster form, perhaps, but the last time he sparred against Hale’s True Form he was outmatched. Even with the Blue Bro Behemoth— which was a struggle to bring out then, and definitely won’t be brought out here, was made a match of by one of Hale’s technique which seemed considerably easier to call upon. But, then again, winning wasn’t exactly the point.
Hale began to bulk up. If he could move at ‘quite a pace’ earlier, now he was, for all that power, not quite as fast. Given the fast, aggressive nature of Nashi’s style, perhaps he had an advantage in that respect?
Perhaps, now that he thought about it, Nashi was wrong about the ‘getting to the point’ thing. Perhaps there was a progression in it: not from a suppressed form to a true form, but from a true form to a form of such artificial weight. Yes… yes, the interplay of strength and skill. This will be very entertaining indeed.
Nashi run to Hale faster than Hale was running to him. But before he was about to get squashed he’d slide under the giant’s feet, jump up back to his feet and then make multiple Leopard Blows against the large space lizard tail. ”Just because you’re big doesn’t mean you’ll hit!”

Hale's grin widened as he got closer to Nashi, hearing his words ringing in his ears and glad he was at least mentally getting into this. Now it was a matter of how soon before he was forced to physically get into the thick of things and give them what Hale considered an entertaining show. "Don't worry, Nashi. I've been putting on shows while you were still in blue diapers.", throwing back his own quip as he closed in on him. Nashi looked quickly into the action as he charged towards Hale as well, as the large Arcosian let out a boisterous laugh and swung his right arm out to grab onto the blue cat man, only to find nothing but air. Quickly he swung down and grabbed again, smashing his hand into the empty stage as Nashi went right between his legs, causing a bit of confusion from Hale.
He hadn't used this full bulking form since having gained so much power, and it was showing quite obviously. He had gained muscle mass and no doubt his strength was impressive, but he hadn't trained enough to match it with any sense of speed as he was actively weighing himself down. Before he could turn to quip about Nashi's speed or even take a swipe he felt a sharp burning pain from the quickly blows and gave an animalistic growl, slamming his tail down hard to bat away the attacks after they began to hurt to avoid further damage and leaping forward to put some distance before turning around. "Hey, that's sensitive!", narrowing his eyes.
His attention was drawn towards his partner who has also transformed, but given he was in his brute form Hale wondered if it was on purpose or if he simply couldn't go further. It was then that he had a thought and the grin returned to his face as his tail began to shake began him lightly, and his eyes moved towards Kyabe, then back to Nashi. Suddenly he took off towards Kyabe with a full sprint intending to shoulder check him to simply knock him over as he was distracted with Vetur, wanting to see how not only the teammates would react, but what his own partner might do.

The youth's decision in closing in was a success! Unfortunately, though, Kyabe's forward assault was combatted against quite effectively. As his attempt in whittling away at Veyt with punches and kicks was practically meaningless. For his opponent guarded ad blocked, swiped away and reflected much of Kyabe's punches. His response was something to marvel at, and pretty darn intelligent in retrospect. Vetur's act of reflecting him with his hand, and then elbowing the youth's temple and comboing into a smash of his tail sent Kyabe spinning into the ground. Pain ringing through the youngster's skull and vibrating all around it. Boy, he kind of got himself into some serious stuff this time, didn't he? Kyabe found himself on the ground and recovered at his own pace. A mix of hurriedly and slow, Kyabe got to his feet and rubbed his head and ribs caringly. Groaning some, and opening his eyes wide once he realized someone else was coming for him: Hale! Jeez, was Nashi not keeping the guy busy? Kyabe didn't have time to even think of a plan, as Hale came forth and shoulder checked the boy into the floor, yet again, making him slide back and glide across the floor. This time, however, Kyabe jumped to his feet much faster. Using his heels to dig in and ground himself, and pressing his fingers to the ground to tech the non-lethal bash. He ran back towards his opponents, though his patience was being tested by their unspoken team attack. Kyabe furrowing his brow, and losing all traces of the giggles, smiles or even smirks he had given prior to this. It was really game time now, wasn't it? He'd have to play smart, just like intended to. His sudden, all-out offense was a mistake that he'd need to rectify for and make sure his mistakes were corrected before the end of this matchup against Hale and Vetur. Not only that, but he'd need to get things on track for himself and Nashi since their opponents seemed to be testing out only Kyabe. "Two on one? Y'know, that kinda ticks me off..." Kyabe mumbled to himself, cracking his back and reassuming his fighting stance. However, this time his feet were planted to the ground and he beckoned Vetur and Hale to him. Though he expected only Vetur to come his way, he'd be ready for Hale, as well. A small look shot to Nashi, Kyabe felt as though if he positioned things right, there could be a massive pay off. Perhaps Nashi could capitalize on his opponent picking on the smaller fry and get in a series of good hits. Who knew. That was where the draw of excitement originated from, to begin with. His jaw clenched as he tensed his muscles. Ready to relax them at will and go limp if both aliens attacked him in unison. Otherwise, Kyabe's main goal was to retaliate and counter whatever Vetur had in store for him. Vetur Cold

Vetur smiled as he took his opponent to the ground, bouncing on his feet he readied himself for the next attack. He turned his head, eyes widening as a behemoth smashed into Kyabe and sent him flying to the ground again. Vetur turned and stepped in front of Hale, his arms opening as he stared at his ally who had changed into a massive and intimidating form. His own eyes hard as he locked his gaze on Hale.
"I have this, it is dishonorable for two of us to fight him. I will not allow you to fight him. Go back to your opponent."
Vetur turned back to Kyabe and bowed at the waist. "I apologize, him striking you was not part of the deal. For this action I will give you a free punch. Hit me as hard as you can." His power shifted as he went back to his first suppressed form. His power level dropping to two thousand five hundred and fifty. He walked towards the saiyan and stopped within striking distance. His arms being placed behind his back and his tail laying where it wouldn't get in the way of a coming attack.
"Please, it is only fair after you qere blindsided by my ally who should not have interfered in our battle." Vetur raised his head and waited for the coming blow. The Arcosian was a odd one among his people. He fought not for superiority but because he liked fighting. He preferred strong equal ground over fighting weaker enemies. Though he also showed respect to weaker foes who chose to fight him and returned their bravery with fighting at full strength to honor their courage. He wasn't sure if it was his fathers training or something he just picked up but he held his own code and he stuck to it.
"When you are ready."

Nashi stopped his Leopard Blows only when Hale swatted around his tail and leapt away. ”’Course it’s sensitive. If it weren’t, I wouldn’t have attacked it!” One problem was, though, that he didn’t know for sure that the tail was especially sensitive. He was merely extrapolating from the knowledge that his own tails were sensitive. Not so much sensitivity as one would expect of a saiyan’s tail, no, but more like the tail of an actual cat. If you grabbed it they wouldn’t freeze up, rather, quite the opposite happens; they spring into action to attack the thing that dared to stomp it’s tail. ”There. Now that you know you can’t touch me, you may as well just give up now, now that— hey, where are you going?!” Hale was running to Kyabe. The four were already split into two groups of two, and it was already being broken? Sure, he was OK with that. If it was entertaining, and Kyabe didn’t get hurt unduly. ”Come back here, coward! Face me like a lizard!”Nashi would run to Hale and jump upon his back, Nashi’s hands around the Arcosian’s neck. Nashi was far smaller than Hale, but thought that he’d be able to kick away Hale’s tail if he tried to use that to swat Nashi away. Trying to choke him would amount to no more than a mere fool’s errand, so he’d continually whack Hale’s head. He’d target the bits of flesh near the bio-gem, but not the bio-gem itself; Nashi figured the biological material was the toughest part of their physiology. ”Focus on me, ya brute!” Hale wasn’t in his Brute Form when it happened, but… well, he was still a sort of brute, right?
It was all fine and good for Hale to try to disrupt the double pairing going on, as long as Nashi could disrupt Hale's disruption just as easily.
