The Gaps

Yuca's PL: 100
What happens to a society when one of its most important figures die? Every civilization handled this inevitable problem differently, organizing according to their needs. The power vacuum always brought light to the subtle instabilities every community has, the sheer gravity of a leader's absence being felt in every sense of the word. There was now a political hole in place due to this person's death and Yuca sought to learn more about it. His idea of Namekian culture had a certain level of bias to it. Having grown up in a Monarch most of his life, he saw things differently than others who hadn't faced the same reality. The idea of who'd the next leader be never posed a question, the natural order of things was already known. Father to eldest son, and so this cycle maintained endlessly for Konats. Although a different face every once and a while, they all looked similar. No person too different from the other, the King put in position being more of a figurehead for the family's decisions. An overarching narrative carried through bloodline, a copy of the last one with little change. Being subjected to warfare, one that was started by the royal family nonetheless. He grew distrustful of them, harboring feelings that made him question exactly how one should rule over a people.
What was confidence in your rulers if they'd been the ones that caused the genocide of your people? Yuca was left feeling very conflicted, unsure what to do. In the heat of the moment he made a rash decision. Emotionally charged he decided that the best course of action naturally seemed to be fleeing Konats. Resulting in him landingon a different planet with a culture significantly contrasting his own. At first a mere foreigner spending a few days on Namek it soon became a semi-permanent residence, fascinated by the many things he discovered. His mind getting increasingly informed by the strange, although intriguing information he couldn't possibly get somewhere else. Building up a repertoire of general knowledge. Magic being the main focus of his intellectual pursuits, granted it being inevitable especially if one were versed in wizardry to even a minimal degree. Despite not being someone born into the lifestyle found on Namek, he still kept up with some of its politics. <All this talk of the Guru, just how important could a man like this be? For him to die after such an event, no accident I presume? Perhaps I should look into this further.>
Both curious and bored he went to where once resided a renowned individual, the Grand Elder's Village. He'd some preconceived notions of what the town'd be like, but nothing yet concrete. Mystery shrouded its location like a treasure chest, hard to open however rather alluring to speculate just what might be found. <Maybe they've replaced their leader already? Perhaps there'd be something to learn should they be willing to share some of their wisdom. Still, that might be cocky of me to assume they'd even impart anything worthwhile to an outsider. I'm already on my way regardless, why stop now? Pointless banter again and again, I have to stop this.> His trek had been long and arduous. Travel made by foot given it was his preferred method of navigation. Finally on the main path towards the village, he'd see it for what it was. A quaint looking plot of land littered with ancient architecture. Unsure who or what he'd exactly find as he now was at the border of the fairly populated town, still walking towards what would eventually be its center. The Guru's home. <This strange feeling.. Is it really coming from here?>
