Ledinjin has the scouter visor and Pendant equipped, the pendant being part of Ledinjin's central core.
Ledinjin was finding his uncanny negligence personally unfathomable. Some time ago, Ledinjin had an aching reminder, which was meeting back up with Synthesia and Nashi, about one particular Pride Trooper's location: The man had been last seen right where his people were encamped. He had been found by the cyborg before not far from where they were, when they still had a functioning ship!
The only issue was, Ledinjin didnct know where to start. He had made the effort to first go out into the wilderness, using the wire pully paths connected from tree to tree before using his energy to start flying around the forest. Another issue Ledinjin would have to deal with, was that among the Pride Troopers, the cyborg Saizomaru was the only one aiming with the intent to subdue Ledinjin and the others and had left away in a angered state. There'd been a lot of time since the incident at Satan City, and a lot of changes to Ledinjin and the FPR as a whole.
"He's gotta be around here somewhere," the Arcosian muttered to himself, looking from side to side, "He did mention the first time I met him about him being a wildlife protector. If he's doing his job, then his energy should jump up around here at some point..."
A lot had happened in the last few days for Saizomaru. He had his first match of a new tag team tournament in the recently built Muscle Tower; he had come off from fighting an ally of Carro for the dragon balls, successfully triggering their super saiyan form to help better protect them; and now he had just earned himself a bit of cash helping out some other old saiyan guy weed out a couple of traitors amongst their ranks.
Now, he just wanted to spend some time to himself, to relax and enjoy the scenery. As much as he hated the cold, Yunzabit Heights was the best place for him to not be disturbed.
Sat upon a snow and moss-covered rock, he took a drag on the mango-flavoured liquid from his electronic cigarette before blowing a long puff of vapour into the air. He gazed out into the distance, watching a pair of polar bear companions search the snow for tracks along with their three cubs.
A small smile crept along the android's lips. "So cute and fluffy," he muttered to himself. He hung his head a little, gazing down at the snow beneath him. "Having a family is nice." He couldn't help but think back at the times he had spent with his own parents. And, now, he had his own family to take care of. Then maybe he would have a child of his own. Tarch and Saizomaru's own child would then grow up and have their own families too.
It was life's mandala, as his father would say.
He was brought back to his senses once he began to hear something faint, like an aircraft soaring through the sky. Strange—he didn't know of any flight paths that went over Yunzabit.
It was either a private jet, or someone was approaching. In any case, Saizomaru ignored the low humming and continued to relax.

The blaring letters and numbers on the scouter visor forced Ledinjin to a stop! Although Ledinjin's sense of ki couldn't pick up the presence, his scouter was able to locate something with a 116,000 power level. It spelled as good news for the Arcosian cyborg, as he didn't know anyone with that level of power outside of Carro's machine, LEO!
'Finally, I found him!'
Ledinjin altered his direction to the power level and sped forward. They weren't moving around, so Ledinjin arrived above the human cyborg in seconds. He called out, as he floated down to Saizomaru, "Saizomaru!"
Urgency was present in his voice. Hopefully they'd hear him out, especially considering what happened to him and the FPR.
"I finally found you," he opened up, landed on the ground in front of the cyborg, "I need to talk to you and the rest of the remaining Pride Troopers. Synthesia already knows about what I want to talk about and alerted me about one of your members being somewhere in West City. However, I wanted to talk to you first, being you're relatively close to where the FPR had been forced to camp at..."
Sorry for the short post. Need to recover my muse after what happened with work.
That turbulent, whirring noise was starting to get louder and higher pitched the more it became apparent that it was drifting right about the landscape where Saizomaru was. In fact, it was getting too loud. It wasn't moving just overhead, but moving closer towards him. It was becoming typical that someone was making their way towards the android despite his best bet of trying to find solace up in these desolate, snow-strung mountains.
So much for relaxing.
Then, a voice called out to him. And his synthetic heart pounded in his chest. He felt the artificial blood that pumped in his veins rush through his system in a mix of negative emotions. He recognized that voice anywhere. He knew it from so long ago and yet it was burned in his brain like a brand. His fingers clenched tight into iron fists in his lap, the one hand almost crushing his vape.
But as he turned around to see the arcosian, all of that wrath, rage and anger mellowed, only to be replaced by a sick and sadistic feeling of black humour as he gazed at the half-robotic Ledinjin from over his shoulder. He hadn't thought of it until now, but he came to realize why it was that he couldn't sense the arcosian's approach.
"I hardly recognized you," said Saizomaru, a tinge of sarcasm and mockery on the cusp of each word. He turned back to face the fields in front of him, not giving this alien that threatened to ruin everything him and his comrades worked for in Satan City. "I'd say you've got a lot of balls coming here after the stunt you pulled those months ago… but I bet they got blown off of your body along with the other parts of you."
He was not about to hide his obvious disdain for the leader of the Federation of Planets Rebellion. Little less than half a year was what Saizomaru had to try and forget about what had happened, or in the very least make peace with it. Now the arcosian's appearance was about to undo four months of work in a matter of seconds.
"I assume that whatever you have to say is really important," he said as he pressed the button on the side of his electronic cigarette. Once more he took a drag of the vapour in the tank and blew a large stream of smoke into the air in front of him, forming almost a fog in front of him due to the chill in the air. "You wouldn't be risking you life in approaching me if it wasn't."
He stood up and slipped the vape back into his robe pocket. Then, he turned to face Ledinjin, giving him a cold, hard stare of that alone could kill. "What is it that you want?"

Ledinjin would be a fool if he didn't notice the disdain from Saizomaru! They were still livid with his decision to test him. Ledinjin had come to admit to himself it was a dumb decision. The Arcosian cyborg, however, still believed it best to have committed it. Ut brought up a blaring weakness to Ledinjin concerning the FPR, on top of how scattered the Pride Troopers were!
"Well, when you live the life I have, risks are always taken with the most casual of things," Ledinjin spoke up, "It's led to many terrible results, but just as many good ones..."
Ledinjin paused, crossing his arms as he visibly pondering what to say. He opened up, with a stammer, "There's... A dilemma I've come to discover that, while only in the hypothetical phase, is something dangerous we need to address. I'm in the belief that Satan City's mind control was handled on a microscopic level. Certain nanomachines developed to alter make someone susceptible to such control by a singular individual. In a couple of cases, there needed more machinery used. Although there's no time to develop and test this, I can tell you now the method has something to do with the water supply. It's because of this that I wish to meet with everyone still within the Pride Troopers and figure out something to stop this before it gets out of control."
He couldn't develop this into a theory without experimentation to test the hypothesis. Considering the level of meticulousness directed into this, none of them had the time! They could only guess at the method and how they'd have it affect a large population so quickly! Then, they could react accordingly! Yet, what they each had to say was going to be what bothered Ledinjin. Nashi's explanation of magical involvement was something the Arcosian ruled out immediately when he heard it, being far more rooted in explaining reality through science and testing! However, he wasn't in total disbelief of it.
Saizomaru could not help but snicker at the arcosian's almost comically ironic statement. "You don't say?" he mocked before taking another drag of the strawberry flavoured liquid in the tank. It was the only sense of sweetness that was going to be on his otherwise venom and spite-laced tongue. "Well you put a small hamper on our cleansing progress, then went and got yourself mutilated for nothing. I'd say you've had more terrible results than good."
Despite his lack of care for the arcosian, he remained intent on listening to what he had to say—for the moment, in the very least. Ledinjin had hypothesized that there was more to the corruption that happened in Satan City than just simple dark magics. He had assumed that there was some sort of technical contingency to it as well. Saizomaru could hardly believe it though.
"Nanomachines, son?" he sighed. He shook his head for a moment, contemplating the scenario for a small stretch of time that was almost inconsequential to his opinion. "What you're suggesting is that these nanomachines were acting as a conduit or gateway for a mass mind control, despite no evidence to support that fact. I had spent some time in Satan City after the cleansing and never noticed anything such as that."
He took another drag of the vape. "Did you not see us conducting the ritual? Or the huge ass black cloud in the skies above the city that disappeared once we had finished the ritual and, y'know, everyone returning to normal straight after? Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out what happened."
And yet… he couldn't just rule the possibility out.
Saizomaru pushed himself off of both hands from the rock he was on, his robe tails dragging off some of the snow after him. He turned to where Ledinjin was, and began taking steps forward.
"Let's say that your theory holds water," he continued, "and that there's evidence to show it—what can any of us do? If it was waterborne or airborne, then everyone in the city is infected. The only way to shut down the nanomachines would be to invade the WTF and take out their systems; something that they would just as easily be able to rebuild. That, or an EMP bomb to take out every electronic in the city."
He was right up in the arcosians face at this point. "And I'm going to tell you this once, and only once, so listen very carefully. If you plan on causing more problem for the city, or any other city, then I will kill you where you stand right now… and no amount of mechanical parts will bring you back after I'm done with you."
And, just like that, the weight of the world fell from the android's shoulders. It felt good to let all of that out.
He turned to make his way back to the rock as he puffed on his electronic cigarette, letting the smoke flow from his lips with each exhale. "Good talk. Anything else you wanna say while you're here?"

A gaggle of insults coated with spite came from Sai. He figured that he wanted this all of this to happen! Ledinjin held back the urge to point at Saizomaru's spite and declare that a child spoke. He had to.
Saizomaru questioned Ledinjin's hypothesis, wondering how that could be possible without any personal evidence! Ledinjin wasn't gonna speak on that point, though, as this was anger. For all Ledinjin knew, this was a tirade to belittle the Arcosian! They were really testing the Arcosian's patience.
Then came up both that huge cloud they dispersed with whatever ceremony they committed to using, which inherently freed the people up. Not being the man of magic, Ledinjin replied, "That cloud that was dispersed could have been that delivery system. Something to invade the body through the lungs. I've seen methods of mind control committed to my own people that were captured by the WTF that'd give Hofferson a field day with a migraine. The process of eliminating the machinery, also, may have just been pointed out! So what I-"
Ledinjin stopped, as Saizomaru gave a meaningful threat to Ledinjin's life. The Arcosian narrowed his eyes, his tongue pushing his cheek out a bit.
When Saizomaru finished, Ledinjin replied back,"Finding out what your friend did is important to counteracting the manipulation, clearly. It designated a zone, which was the city, and overloaded the nanomachines in the clouds. Considering it stopped when a certain amount was gone in the cloud, that meant the there was a main commanding machine that received and distributed the orders of the one commanding them. When it went away, the machines still in people had to be in their bloodstreams, which would mean Nature would take its course in removing the foreign substances as they healed. Synthesia helped the cleansing process start, so when a meeting can go down in the future, we can question them then before any motions can be done. I've worked with him on restoring some of the parks and water pipes providing the city with clean water, so we can develop it more from there. Would you approve of that?"
The android could not believe he was going to be arguing science and technology with someone he hated. It helped take his mind off of a few things but the constant discussion about Satan City kept his blood pressure high and his nerves on a razor's edge. He knew about technology. He knew about nanomachines; his own body was filled with them.
Which brought an interesting thought.
"Okay—let's say the cloud dispersed nanomachines," he began as he placed his hand on the rock, leaning onto it. "Why would the mind control suddenly stop once the skies cleared? The WTF would still have control over them regardless if it was there or not. That would mean one of two things: either that cloud acted as the controller, or it was continuously producing nanomachines."
He took a dragon of the vape, held it in, then blew a stream of vapour into the air. "Scenario one is ruled out because it dispersed as soon as the ritual was done. It was magical in nature. There was no technology involved. My sensors would have picked up electromagnetic signals if it were."
He turned back to Ledinjin again, twirling his electronic cigarette around his finger by the loop on the handle. "Second scenario we rule out because I would have the nanomachines inside me if that were the case. So would you. So would everyone else that was there. We all breathed the air in that place." He smirked a little. "And my diagnostics found nothing foreign inside me, so you can relax. We're all fine."
He hopped up on top of the rock, crossing one leg over the other. He drew another lungful of the sweet vapour. "Whatever happened was because of that cloud. If there are still machines inside the populace, they will be unaffected by them regardless. As you said—their bodies' natural immune system will root out the machines in time."
But at least under all of this hypothesis and pretence Ledinjin had come up would a decent idea. In any case, Saizomaru waved his hand at the arcosian in signal of his nonchalant opinion. "Yeah, you do that," he responded without care. "It's your city, after all. Some infrastructure rework was probably needed for that place anyway. Not that it would help your cause much."
Saizomaru elaborated, "You changing water pipes isn't going to miraculously clean the water. You'd either have to redirect them to a new water supply, or find a way to cleanse the water already in the system. And I'm pretty sure no one's gonna be happy with you shutting off the city's water supply for God knows how long until you've solved the problem."
The android hummed, then took another long drag of the fruity vapour in the tank. "In any case, best of luck to whatever it is you're hoping to accomplish. Maybe next time you'll come up with a shred of evidence before taking action."

"Ruling out the subject because a ritual succeeded and determining it was of a magical nature doesn't mean it automatically rules out the nanomachine possibility," Ledinjin replied, appreciating internally that they were talking about this in a logical standpoint, "It is reinforcing the possibility that what you and I said that it was the main control unit for the manipulation. Before we go ruling each other, let me tell you why I am arguing that it is still possible. In WTF space, including on my homeworld of Arcose, there is a study on Ki and energy which allows us to become, 'supernatural,' individuals. It is an ongoing, constantly tested theory about Ki being controlled by a bodysystem called, in the way I was taught it,'Kinetic Reservoirs.' It is connected to the brain not unlike the nervous system. It is what scientists, like myself, believe and also seek to disprove..."
He took off his scouter visor from his head and popped open one of the side compartments with his finger, exposing the inner workings. He pointed inside at the motioning parts that were of Fleet make. Foreign looking in design with its odd lighting, but notably mechanical.
"Many many years ago, a scientist on one of the many worlds that were conquered by one of Arcose's oldest ancestors, Chilled, had given their pirate organization this technology that was able to detect and read power levels of people. How he came across this has been lost to time, but what is constantly debated and only confirmed is that organisms, stars, and other active celestial objects have been confirmed of carrying ki. What we've been coming to suspect is that these readings are the active molecules that cause radiation..."
Ledinjin immediately held up his index finger, clarifying, "This belief is currently disapproved by at least 70% of the scientists in WTF space, whether they are in the Fleet or not. However there've been tests committed that check the manipulation of the kinetic reservoir that had been boosting up the proven % to 30%. Telekinetic and telepathic individuals, who's unique brains, have been core to these studies, showing advance control over objects and some cases, living organisms. If the WTF had been reinforcing this research behind the wall of debate in secret, and they also certainly have the funds and capabilities of doing this, then what has happened here is certainly possible... Especially what happened with the Saiyan, Banzo, and my own comrade, Thaw. While I don't know what the WTF did to put Thaw under mind control, Hale had been able to learn this. Banzo, however, had these tubes of green glowing liquid coming out of him that he was fighting against..."
He felt he should have opened up with to begin with, but he felt that'd be dismissed while talking to Saizomaru. He needed some ground to work with to talk with him.
This whole conversation was starting to bore Saizomaru. He was finding it hard to not fall asleep on this rock listening to all of this.
"Yeah, cool," he muttered as he rubbed his eyes with a finger and thumb. He could have sworn sleep was building up around them while he had to listen to what Ledinjin had to say. "You still haven't refuted any of my counter claims. If it was airborne, why are we clean? If it was waterborne, why are you changing pipes and not the source of the city's water? Why are you even proposing this without any physical evidence?"
He sighed as he turned to face the arcosian. "And why the hell are you coming to me about this? What do you want me to do about it? What do you think I can do about it?"
He paused. He doubted Ledinjin had an answer. Even if he did, he would cut him off, "After the stunt you pulled back then, you don't get to come to me and ask for help. Satan City is your problem now. You handle it. If it's too hard for you, then maybe you should have thought harder on your decision to claim ownership of it."
The android's blood was boiling once more. This arcosian had the gall to lay claim to a city under stress, and now his gall lead him to ask the Pride Troopers for help—the very group he and his own faction attacked.
It was taking Saizomaru all of his discipline to not tear this fool in half.
He turned away from the arcosian again, then took a deep, long drag of the vapour in the tank. He was going to need a lot of nicotine to relax himself after this. "I don't believe theories based on thoughts or feelings," he said. "I believe theories based on evidence. Come back to me when you have evidence of your nanomachines in the water supply."

He wasn't getting through to Saizomaru. The damage he did to him was more apparent than what happened to Synthesia. Ledinjin kept his gaze in to the android, saying, "The reason I'm telling you all of this right now is I can't handle the responsibility..."
Ledinjin paused for a moment, deciding enough was enough of his faltering will.
"I thought I could because I was certain... CERTAIN, that my people could handle it! Yet then one of my own decided they'd go darting into the middle of a encampment in the Northern Mountains, rattle all the WTF to come to that location and fucking commit a suicidal attack that dragged his younger brother, Banshee, Vicarous, and myself to try saving his dumb ass. We tried our damn-est to get him out, and yet Banshee and his younger brother, the other Arcosian, nearly died doing so. He and I both fell, with my grand-kid narrowly escaping along with the others. I fucked up in my job leading my own people, and it's becoming a danger..."
Ledinjin grabbed tightened his fingers, visible shaking in his anger.
"I've been trying over and over to do what I can to get everyone together, and I've been breaking everything in my wake ever since I came to this planet when I'm trying not to! I'm trying to keep this going so that people have a better fucking future, and all it's been leading to is me getting brought back from the brink of death, Thaw getting into a cybernetic hit man for the very people we've been having to deal with, getting you guys divided up because of what I had my group do to see how well you can hold up doing your job in case if your own turn or your allies actually turned on you like how Banzo was turned by the very fucking people I'm warning you about that-"
He stopped. Should have been trying to tell Saizomaru this stuff? Did he care about it at all?
And there was the admittance. Ledinjin had come to admit that he could not have been prepared to be able to handle running an entire city. Saizomaru was hardly surprised by the revelation. How was a three-man team supposed to run an entire city all by themselves when they had zero experience in such matters? What with Thaw and Gelu gone, how was one person going to do that?
More than ever the android was listening with great attention and the arcosian began to spill his guts out with what had been happening to him. Saizomaru knew that his team were attacking a large World Trade Fleet camp, and he had hoped that they would have taken each other out. It was apparently a one-sided victory, and apparently a fight started by one of his comrades going off script. Saizomaru could surmise it was Thaw—he had proved his actions questionable in the very least back in Satan City.
He never removed his ears from Ledinjin's words even as he continue to confess all that had happened to him since that time. And when the arcosian stopped suddenly, he awaited for a continuation. Some sort of revelation. But there was none. A silence was all that remained between the two of them that seemed to last a lifetime even if it were only for a few moments.
The android's legs slid from the top of the rock, then the rest of his body followed, letting his feet land on the ground as he stood straight. He slid his electronic cigarette in his pocket and turned to the arcosian. He began taking steps closer and closer, his boots trudging through the snow as it crunched beneath his feet, until he was stood only a couple inches from Ledinjin.
He reached out and patted him on his robotic shoulder.
"Finally, you've come to admit your own arrogance, ignorance, and stupidity," he said, though there was no trace of mockery or pride in his voice. All that was there was a sense of sympathy and pity. "You never had a chance of being able to govern a city. It's good to see that you realize that now."
He let his hand drop from Ledinjin's shoulder back to his side. He stared him dead in the eyes. "I will help your investigation in whatever ways I know how to," he said, "But on one condition: you relinquish your claim over Satan City, hand it back to the prior powers that governed it before you, and you do not try to pull this crap anywhere else. You've already said you can't handle the responsibility, so give it back to the people who can."
Saizomaru smirked, the first time with genuine good faith since this all started.
Post by Ledinjin Frost on Feb 19, 2019 20:43:54 GMT -6
"... Stupidity," Ledinjin questioned, disgusted by the comments, "Governing the city?! Not once did I proclaim governing the city!"
He didn't remove Sai's arm from his shoulder, his hands becoming like knives only to point at him.
"I never claimed governing of the city! I only claimed the command of defense- No, sure! Let's just call it stupidity and be done with it! Carro's already in charge of the city and this planet, so it's not my business running it. So it's a done deal that I'm not governing the city."
He put his hands together. He asked, seething with frustration he was trying so very hard to keep simmered, "Where are the rest of the Pride Troopers aside from yourself, Synthesia, and Hale, if you know? Could I ask for their locations... Please?"
Seemed that the android had struck a nerve in this erstwhile arcosian. A part of him felt proud of the fact. It was, after all, only a small taste of the anger that Saizomaru had harboured inside of him since that day.
"Govern, defend—same thing as far as I'm concerned," he replied as he removed his hand from the alien's shoulder. "Semantics aside, you took claim to a city that you failed to live up to. That's all there is to it."
Saizomaru caught a glance at Ledinjin's trembling hands for a brief moment. That's right. Be angry. Feel the small ounce of rage that I have felt. I hope you choke on it.
Once the arcosian had asked the question, the android smirked. "Other Pride Troopers? No idea," he replied so nonchalantly that it could be misinterpreted for a lack of care. It wouldn't be too far from the truth, however. "I don't keep track of their movements not their business unless I am involved in it. Maybe they've gone to walk some elderly people across the road, or rescuing a balloon for a little child. Or maybe…"
A grin spread across the lips of Saizomaru. Dark, foreboding, full of malice.
"Maybe they've gone to protect a city after their last "defender" messed up royally. What do you think?"
Post by Ledinjin Frost on Feb 27, 2019 10:24:11 GMT -6
Sai retorted that it made no difference, governing and defending. After that, though, he pointed out the failure and that was all. Ledinjin gave him that. He did fail to live up to it.
What came out of Saizomaru's mouth next was like a spear aimed at running Ledinjin through concerning his failure. He pointed out that they were probably picking up the slack in the cities around the globe. The Arcosian remained frowning, but his eyebrows raised up. He didn't need to be getting wrapped up in the anger. Neither of them did.
"You make good points, Saizomaru," Ledinjin replied, his voice internally directed at calming himself, "They're out there right now, working to be the representatives of your planet. I should be letting you get back to work. I'll find them individually and we'll figure out a time to sit and meet about the WTF threat. Is there a way I can contact you for when that time comes along?"
