Logan bit down a scream of pure anger, stomping and cracking a stone beneath his foot as he flexed his now bruised right hand. He was dressed simply, a sleeveless skintight dark purple top, free-flowing but not baggy gray khakis, and a set of fingerless black gloves - one of which was currently removed in his teeth as he surveyed the damage his poor fingers and palm had taken. Be it a bit revealing, near every inch that could be possibly fitted was fitted with weights. Training instruments that had brought him this far, and tools he'd continue to use and adapt with. His body and limbs were adorned in a myriad of cuts and bruises, peppered and strewn about as if someone had taken a hammer and randomly struck him with it. Every part of him ached, but Logan fought back the growing feeling of desperation and panic clawing its' way up in order to take a stance and try again. Four hours. He'd been alone in a rocky wasteland for four hours, using near every part of his body (save for the obvious bits) in a fruitless attempt to shatter a boulder in front of him. For the first time, in his desperate gambit during the life or death battle with the Arcosian Vetur, he had channeled Ki. Far too much, and to the point where it backfired and almost killed him - but he had done it. Since then, even with his unfortunate induction in what amounted to a part-time WTF position with said Arcosian supervising him, he hadn't been able to repeat even a fraction of that power. So his fists fell upon immutable stone, pain barely slowing him down as Logan tried over, and over, and over, and over... just to try. His training with Nashi and Vetur had been for naught - and for no fault to his instructors. His body simply refused to grow stronger. Having the gimmick of being one of the 'strongest normal humans' was getting old, and although outbursts like this were rarely displayed around friends, the need to simply just explode and let out his frustrations mounted in increasing intervals as the days stretched on. He hadn't even grown a single PL point since his training had begun - so what was this then? His 'peak'? Was this where he was destined to remain for the rest of his life?
...No. It couldn't be. He knew as much with the strange feeling and body that he had taken on during his fight from before. Deep down he had at least some potential, locked away behind invisible and unbreakable barriers that no matter the effort simply refused to shatter. He was angry. And not at anyone else - not at Nashi, not at Vetur, not at Kraktus or Algere... everyone seemed to believe he had potential. That he, a lowly normal human, could make a difference. He wasn't a hybrid - he didn't have the blood of other species running through him like some. He knew both his parents and they were completely normal people. Was there even a case of someone like him every breaking the glass ceiling other humans seemed to reach? Fate would be a cruel mistress to dangle potential so close to him only to yank it away as you would a carrot on a stick. Stagnation was infuriating, and such thoughts kept Logan going. Again, he struck the boulder, and again another bruise added to his collection. If he didn't stop, he'd end up seriously damaging something. Logan, however, was beyond such reason. In his current state, he was either going to suddenly gain the power to use his Ki, or die trying to. He owed it to himself and to his teacher. The wind howled in response, blowing in the opposite direction as if to assuage him to stop. He clenched his right hand, blood and sweat coalescing and running down to his wrist as he glared at the rock before him. "Break damn it, break!" another strike, more pain. His face scrunched as tears sprang to his eyes, Logan wiping them off and attempting to suppress his emotions. "Please..."

Keeping up on bodily strength was pretty important to stay on top of, and though there weren't always people quite as powerful as her around to spar with, even just practicing excersises by herself was a good way to make sure she didn't get all flabby and weak. Though, at this point, was it even possible for her to fall back down in strength? If it was, she did not want to find out. Nashua found herself in the Gizard Wasteland, looking for a good spot to practice without accidentally blowing someone nearby to pieces. That was trickier than she'd have liked it to be, though now that she was capable of destroying literal planets with only about half of her full power, caution was definitely best excerised. The simple solution was just to fire every attack harmlessly off into the sky, she supposed.
She felt like she had just found a good, remote spot for herself, when her ears picked up some screaming a relatively close distance away. It at least sounded like screaming to her. A quick tap of her scouter and a scan revealed a pretty low power level of three hundred a short distance down the wastes from her, though no other signatures were picked up around. So, why was he screaming? Nashua jogged on over to find out. She arrived at the scene about a few dozen seconds later, to find what looked like a human punching a rock and crying about it not breaking. Well, that was a... Sight. "Um," she mumbled with a pause, before stepping forward up to behind the sobbing man. "Uh, it's okay, it's uh, just a rock, you know?" she said, absolutely no idea how to cheer him up crossing through her mind.
Maybe something was stuck inside the boulder? The Saiyan stepped forward and gave the rock a light kick, which blew the thing to pieces that flew off dozens of meters away, leaving behind a small, cracked, stump of a rock. It didn't look like anything was inside of it, though, which prompted Nashua to furrow her eyebrows and turn back towards the human with confusion. "Was something in there? I didn't see anything except more rock," she asked. "Maybe you just haven't found the right rock? There's like, thousands around here, so I can help you find whatever it is you're looking for, if you want." Kicking rocks open did sound like a decent method of training. Maybe not the most strenuous, but it'd work her leg muscles well enough.

Little was Logan to know that his solitary excursion into assaulting rocks was to be interrupted so soon. Though he was alone at the start of this campaign, the time that had passed had allowed for others to come unto the wasteland themselves undetected! And do when someone's voice rang out and surprised, he did the totally manly thing and didn't yelp and jump a few inches in the air. ...Or maybe he did, and just wouldn't admit such a thing in public. Logan turned, shock turning to panic to an attempt to look natural, rubbing his face clean and shoving his hands in his pockets. "Oh hello! I wasn't crying, so ma'am! Just had... something in my eye." He paused, sighing - "Or maybe I was... but who cares!? Not me!" the lady then proceeded to casually kick the boulder he'd been trying to even split all morning and shatter the entire thing effortlessly causing him to stare at her for a few seconds, dumbfounded. "...Oh. Well, alright then," he said, not even to Nashua in particular. "You seem pretty strong... unlike me." he sighed, resting a hand on his chin, a thin trail of blood streaming down - seemingly ignored by the human. "You see, I've been at this for hours trying to finally fu- fricking harness my ki! I did it once and I can't seem to catch a break with a repeat!" He pointed skywards, hair flowing in the wind dramatically as he did so.
He moved to a pose with a hand on his hip, stroking an imaginary beard. "I am Logan, from Central City. Quite honestly, I've run flat up against a wall. Or, a rock, I should say - given that no matter how hard I try I can't seem to use ki whatsoever. So, here I stand, in quite the pickle." Perhaps this lady would be able to teach him!? She looked super strong! Even stronger than Nashi, perhaps! Wait. He snapped his fingers, realization coming to mind. "Ah, why are you out here then? Is it to train as well?"

The human sure seemed pretty shocked when Nashua kicked the boulder into a million pieces, and while Nashua was initially unsure of why that was so shocking, she quickly remembered that plenty of people - in fact, most people hadn't the incredible power that she and her friends all seemed capable of wielding. From that perspective, his surprise made perfect sense. And it made even more sense when the human, who'd introduced himself as a man named Logan, explained he'd been trying and failing to harness his ki energy, which explained his blood stained hands and his constant punching of the rock. Well, if he'd done it once before, that meant surely he could do it again, right? "Oh, gotcha," Nashua replied. "Well, I'm Nashua," she introduced herself, holding out her hand for a handshake. "I'm a Saiyan, if you can't tell by my tail," she added, swishing the furry appendage back and forth briefly.
She nodded her head to his question, as well. "And, that's right. I figured it'd be safest to come out into the middle of nowhere to practice so I wouldn't accidentally hurt anybody if I fired off a big wave of energy." Well, at least, she'd assumed nobody would be out in the middle of the wasteland, but apparently wrongfully so. On the bright side, this did seem like a good opportunity for Logan, she figured. Nashua was a master of ki usage! ...Well, maybe not a master, but pretty good at it. Knowledgeable enough to know how to use it, but it remained to be seen if she was knowledgeable enough to teach other people how to use it. Well, she'd taught Tarch how to fly, so how hard would it be to teach someone else just how to possess the ability? The fact that he'd already managed to use it once before was promising.
"And, hey, if you don't mind, I could try and show you how to use it," she offered with a shrug. "I'm pretty good at using it myself, I think. Here..." Nashua paused and took a deep breath, holding her palms outstretched in front of her towards the sky. It took a few moments to charge up, but once she did, her hands began to glow with a bright pink energy, and a solid ball of ki formed between them. A moment or two more, and then, bam! A massive and powerful bright pink laser shout out towards the sky, careening harmlessly off into space, but still a spectacl to behold, nonetheless. The Saiyan turned over towards Logan with a smile. "That's the kinda stuff you wanna do, right?" she asked.

Logan stared at her outstretched hand for a moment in surprise, quickly wiping off any liquidized blood he still had on his hand before returning the gesture a bit gently - mostly out of concern that if he shook a bit too hard it'd be his hand that'd feel the burn. She introduced herself as a Saiyan - tail confirming said fact as Logan made sure to only look for a second before meeting her eyes once more. He didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea, especially with that one incident in North City... erm. He shoulders sunk a little as she continued on, realizing he'd probably been taking up prime real-estate for more powerful warriors to train. It made sense that they'd want a wide empty space to practice in, and Logan didn't exactly need the same amount of space given that... well, he couldn't even chip a boulder, let alone shatter it with a single blow. Though, with her offer to help train him (he'd been taking quite a number of such offers lately) that was followed up by a demonstration of a massive pink laser-beam that probably could've atomized him if he had been hit by it. Well, she was strong for sure - confirmed now more than ever. He snapped out of his thoughts, nodding listlessly in response to her question.
"Yeah, the general gist of that, anyway. It's not as much about the power as it is bettering myself, y'know? I feel like if I just quit now, I'd be letting everyone down that's tried to help me so far." He gazed off into the distance, thumbs hooked into his pockets as he bit his lip contemplatively. "Say, Nashua, since ya seem so powerful and all..." he paused for a moment - almost backing out of his next words but forging on regardless "Do you think someone like me could ever surpass myself? Like, as a human, do we even have the potential to get that strong at all? The strongest Earthling I know is Sensei Nashi - and he's some sort of mystical cat creature. I'm a full-blooded, regular guy. I'm not special or gifted, and my hard work seemingly isn't going anywhere."
He hadn't meant to start off on a tangent of such topics with someone who was still, by all means, a stranger. She probably didn't care and would be put off by his words - but it was too late to take them back. He'd yet to even voice his concerns to Nashi, and all the pressure of it building up had finally popped with Nashua. "Or, don't answer if you don't want to." he amended hastily, shaking his head. "I'm sure that sorta stuff is beneath you." normally provocative, the way in which he delivered his words was more... dreary. Accepting, more than anything else.

Nashua could definitely understand where Logan was coming from as he expressed his fear of never being able to gain in strength. Everyone always being one step ahead, one step beyond whatever you could do yourself. But the Saiyan had prime examples for Logan that could hopefully ease his ddoubts. "Well, of course you can get stronger!" Nashua proudly declared, placing her hands squarely on her hips and holding her chin high. "I may look strong now, but just about a year ago, I was a pretty regular Saiyan with barely even enough power to open a bottle of ketchup," she chuckled at the though,t though felt embarrassed to admit that ketchup bottles actually were something she'd seriously struggled with opening not as long ago as she'd have liked them to be. "But the past year I've been working my butt off to make sure my peers didn't leave me behind."
She supposed he could still argue that it was because of her Saiyan blood being naturally more 'potent' than that of an Earthling's, but another example very quickly came to mind that would have easily dispelled any such concerns. "And, well, there is actually one person in particular who I know is stronger than me. Maybe the only person in the galaxy who's stronger than me, actually. And her name is Ramen, and she's a pure blooded human with nothing special about her, just like you!" Nashua didn't actually know much of Ramen's heritage, but for all intents and purposes, the girl was a normal human from a biker gang or something. Well, her red hair wasn't super common, but other humans had hair that red too, right? It wasn't like that was what mader her special.
"So, yeah, it's really just a matter of keeping at it and never giving up! As much as you feel like you want to give up and you'll never make it anywhere, there's a light somewhere at the end of the tunnel that you'll reach if you just keep pushing!" It had been a while since Nahua had given a proper pep talk, and she always enjoyed doing them. Spreading her own joy and determination to other people was a skill she was glad she'd never gotten quite too rusty at! "So, what do you say, ready to stop moping and start getting to work, here?" She asked, her hands dropping back to her sides as her golden eyes looked up at Logan expectantly.

Ramen, huh? So another human in his position had already surpassed even Nashua's power? Such news was surprising, though Logan took it in stride with a bit numb acceptance. If someone had done it before, he could follow in their footsteps. Especially if Nashua knew them - maybe she fought or trained with them before? Maybe he could even meet Ramen in person!? Or not. He wasn't exactly important or noteworthy yet. Just another petty human trying his best to claw up from the pit of weakness the race resided in. ...Kami that was nihilistic! Cheery happy fun time... Nashua had just offered to help and he went and was moping on her. How lame. Therefore... he took a deep breath, clenching his first and standing silent for a moment.
Suddenly his hand whipped past his face, forming into a finger-gun angled towards the sky, a wide smirk on his face. "Ha! You betcha I'm ready!" Both hands now at hips, he jerked his head toward the pulverized rock. "Always ready! Even when the training isn't working!!" Mayhaps he was going a bit overboard with the cheer... nah. He was motivated! And damn right he was gonna show it. A stray hand wandered to the back of his neck, rubbing it as he hmm-ed. "With all that said, though, where exactly are we gonna start? I mean, how do you just... casually fire off laser beams and stuff? The one time I used mine it felt more like a burning sensation in my gut more than my own life force... though that may have been my fifty broken bones and internal lacerations causing that. Not sure." Double thumbs-uping, he grinned wide again. "But hey! That's in the past, yo! If you're willing to help a guy like me out, how am I to say no!? Just wait! Maybe in like a few months, I could actually fly!"
Awesome! Edgy phase... officially mostly behind him! He still harbored doubts, but Nashua's reinforcements of his... deep burning warrior spirit or something reignited his passion! He would learn at least something to surprise Nashi and Kyabe with when he returned. Perhaps not enough to... split a planet apart or anything. Maybe a Hadoken or something? That was a real life thing, right...?
