Some experiences were sobering. And at the moment, Ashi did not feel like being sober. The Konatsian had arrived on Earth to look for help, but really, once she landed, the green haired woman just wanted a good drink. She'd aimed for the Southern part of the planet this time, seeing as how the Northern part she'd been around last time was cold as hll and full of not very helpful people in general. So, hopefully the bottom half was better. Technically planets didn't have bottom halves, Ashi thought as she landed roughly in her space pod and climbed out to smell the air, but for the ease of mapping things out, most had a designated top and bottom. The young lady stumbled down the road and made a mental note of where she'd landed so she could come back and put the pod in a capsule later, eventually finding herself entering the limits of a city called "South City".
Aptly named.
"The people on this planet are either geniuses in their simplicity or goddamn morons," Ashi mumbled to herself as she rolled her eyes and began to stroll through the city. It was so much warmer than the North had been, and therefore, so much better than the North had been. But the warmth caused sweat, which only caused further thirst. Luckily, South City was a city, obviously, which meant plenty of fine establishments at which to get drinks. Ashi stumbled her way into one of the first bars she found, and quickly took a seat for herself at one of the counter stools, and let out a sigh until the bartender approached her. "Hey buddy," she said as she shoved her hand into her pocket and fished out a small wad of Zeni. "Just grab me, uh, something kinda smooth, I guess. And chilled, it's warm in here," she ordered.
Finally with a chance to sit down and relax, Ashi glanced around the bar with mild interest. There weren't a whole lot of people around, and those that were present looked kind of... Depressed. "Yeesh, who died around here?" Ashi mumbled, turning to accept the drink that had been placed in front of her by the barkeep. "Thank you, sir," she curtly stated before taking a big gulp out of the glass, a satisfied "Ahh," escaping her lips as the poignant golden liquid flushed down her throat.

No Thinking, Just Drinking Dosu's PL: 32 000
A noise came echoing from the bar, forcing an annoyed sigh out of the Heran. How many days had it been since the events on the Lookout? Maybe a week at best, he wasn’t sure. His healing process was going fine, although he’d still walk with a bit of a limp and his left side in general just felt numb. To ease the pain and drown a bit of the lingering frustration, he decided to go to a bar, far from the hideout. That way, in addition to being able to drink at will, he wouldn’t get scolded by Bloom and Mumbo for not helping himself by drinking instead of getting some rest. Whatever.
On this day, he was wearing casual clothes, ones that wouldn’t give away his identity as the Red Stargoon. While he was not fearing that he might get recognized -what happened on the Lookout remained a secret to the folks of Earth-, he didn’t feel like risking it or simply attracting too much attention. Not that he would mind on an average day, but this time, he wanted to be as low-profile as possible. He had partially succeeded in that regard, too. He wore a simple black t-shirt with jeans, but even in that attire, he still made head turns. Most notably was his build…or was it that his clothes that were a bit too adjusted? He couldn’t tell, really. It was either that or the fact the bandages still covered part of his arm, going into his tee-shirt.
Without giving them much attention, Dosu made his way to the bar counter, sitting in front of the bartender. Looking left and right, he glanced at his drinking neighbors, the one on his right looking like an ordinary folk not looking for trouble, given how concentrated on his beer he was. All the stools on his left were empty, but someone was approaching one of the seats, this particular individual bearing a strange resemblance to someone he had met before, he thought. Something about the pointy ears and skin color. Earthlings didn’t quite look like that, but they weren’t that far off either. Just where had he seen a similar person before? Oh well, didn’t matter. She ordered something from the bartender before he could and the Heran couldn’t help but make a remark.
“Could’ve gotten yourself some juice from the convenience store across the street.”
He turned his head towards the bartender, meeting his perplexed gaze before placing his order.
“…Get me something strong. Scotch will do. And leave the bottle here.”
Before getting his turn, he watched in silence as the man behind the bar prepared some kind of fancy drink with lots of ice. Bleh, not his kind. It was the voice of the woman beside him that managed to get his attention back. Who died, huh? His thoughts immediately raced back to the fight on the lookout. His pride had died, somewhat, though this wasn’t something he was willing to say out loud. Oh, there was that ghost girl, too, right?
“Heh, no one important.”
He followed the bartender getting the girl her drink before bringing him a bottle, as was asked. He ignored the bartender after the initial glass was poured and went back to the green-haired girl.
“So what’s got you in this place drinking kid stuff in the middle of the day? Don’t look like you’re from this place either, am I right?”

Ashi's ears perked up as the blue behemoth sitting nearby at the counter commented on her choice of drink. She turned over and furrowed her brows at him, eyes squinted slightly as she looked him up and down. He wasn't xactly helping the bar's dreary atmosphere with how shoddy and droll looking he was. Still, she finished off the glass in one great big gulp, all the while not breaking eye contact with the Heran, as if she were aring him to say something more about it. And comment further about it he did. "Kid stuff?" she echoed as the last bit of liquid washed down her throat and she set her glass back down firmly on the countertop. The Konatsian gestured for the bartender to come back over for another order, and she sent a confident glance over towards the Heran as she did so.
"Vodka, highest proof you have." Ashi curtly ordered. She'd show him who drank the kid stuff around here. As the bartender fetched her drink, Ashi figured she may as well address the secon part of the Heran's question. "And, well, you could say a lot of things have brought me here," she declared, slumping forward and placing her chin in her hands as her elbows rested on the countertop. "Humiliation, frustration, and defeat are my current keywords." She didn't see any need to go further into detail on that to a complete stranger, though. Especially not someone who was insulting her choice of drink. And speaking of choice of drink, the bartender returned with a bottle of the liquid so clear you could see your sins through it. "Danke," she stated as she took the bottle and slipped him payment.
"And, I'm from Konats," was the last thing she added before practically shoving the entire bottle into her mouth and chugging down a fair amount of the drink. Maybe a little too fast. After a second or two, she placed the bottle back down on the counter and took a deep breath. "That's - hic - the good shit, am I right?" she said with a smug glance back over at the Heran. "But, you know, your drink is fine, too, I guess." It was possibly a bad sign that Ashi already felt kind of tipsy after just that one big gulp, but she was relying on sheer determination to push her through to the bottom of the bottle. The worst part was that it didn't even taste good. It tasted like gasoline.

No Thinking, Just Drinking Dosu's PL: 32 000
The kid had some spunk, that was for certain. Usually, people would simply steer clear from him and lower their head whenever he spoke to them. It was a nice change of pace for once, even if he had to converse with a kid playing adult. Kid stuff it was and it went just as smoothly as any kid gulping down a boxed juice, for that matter. Was she trying to drag him in some sort of competition or was that just to show him how she was far from a kid? He raised a perplex eyebrow as his only response to that display and masked a chuckle when she ordered something a bit stronger.
“Easy there, you’ll just end up making a fool of yourself.”
Still, she went through with her idea and he had to give it to her, she didn’t seem like the type to back down on the things she said. He drank his own glass as he waited for the show to start, her answer to his question eventually sparking some interest in her. Apparently, she had been through some similar endeavors as he did and frankly, he could relate a bit too much with those sentiments. However, he couldn’t help but wonder how she was able to deal with that so easily. Filling his empty glass with the help of the bottle sitting beside him, he inquired.
“You look awfully fine for someone dealing with such things. Is it because pride doesn’t mean much to you? Or maybe you’ve been broken beyond repair.”
It was, in a way, a provocation to see how she would react to this. As far as he was concerned, dealing with this sensation of being humiliated wasn’t something he could overcome with only a few drinks and positive thinking. I knew what he had to do, now it was only a matter of time. The drink eventually came and for a second he thought it was just water given how clear it was. Konats, huh? So that’s where she was from. Immediately, he remembered that fellow with the robot eye and couldn’t help but smirk at the coincidence that he met that guy in a bar as well. However, the setting was a little different, to say the least.
“Ah, yeah. I met another one of your kind a while ago. Tall guy, hair like me, a weird eye. We got into a brawl at some point and I managed to pop out that damned robotic eye of his. It was fun. He left me with a nasty scar on the chest. I gotta repay him for that. A friend of yours, maybe?”
Maybe she didn’t pay any attention to him because as soon as he turned around, he could see her chugging straight from the battle. His eyes widened in surprise, he wasn’t really expecting that -nor was asking for it, either-.
“I dunno if it’s good or bad, but you’ll tell me when it comes back up, huh?”
That smug glance ticked him off a little. The comment about his drink did, too. He finished his second glass and took the bottle of vodka.
“My drink is meant to be savored. If you wanna play that game, you’ll find yourself outclassed.”
He poured himself a glass of vodka and gulped it down almost immediately, the alcohol going smoothly down his esophagus, as any good vodka would. The burn wasn’t too bad. He poured himself a second.
“Here’s to you and your existential crisis.”
And he drank it straight again.

"Feh, I ain't a fool, and nobody, not even me, can make me look like one!" she snapped back at the Heran brute with some venom in her tone of voice. She sure didn't appreciate how condescending this jerk head was being about how wll she could hold a drink. Ashi was definitely gonna show him, she thought, as she took another sip of the liquid that was far clearer than most consciences. Ashi grimaced slightly as the burn in her throat grew again when the drink washed through it, but it was also starting to taste kind of weirdly good, in a way that tasted pretty bad. ...It was hard to explain. But she looked fine, and not drunk, as far as she could tell. Even the Heran said she looked fine! "I'm not broken! And my pride is fine!" she snapped at him with ferocity, though she quickly looked more sullen after the fact.
"I mean, I don't know. No, I do! ...Know, I mean. It's complicated. It's hard for your pride to not get hurt when you get the shit beaten outta ya, yeah?" He probably didn't. She let out a sigh, and dejectedly stared at her bottle. The woman's long, pointed ears visibly perked up when the musclehead mentioned meeting another Konatsian. Tall, spiked orange hair, and a robot eye? "You beat up Typha?" Ashi asked with amazement in both her tone and upon her face. Was it just Ashi, or had this mohawk guy suddenly become, like, six times more attractive? It was probably partially the alcohol, but boy was he pretty good looking all of the sudden. "I hate that guy! He got me killed, literally! I was stuck in Hell for months cause of him! And then he beat the shit out of me when I came back!"
Ashi angrily took another big gulp of her drink, slamming it back down onto the countertop afterwards with a cough. "Man, you must be way stronger than me if you could do that," she admitted with a sigh. "I thought I was powerful enough to beat him up, but he just... Knocked me out in one hit. As soon as it was convenient for him. ...Urgh, I hate that guy so much!" She glanced over at the Heran, and flashed him a grin. "But, since you beat him up, I like you! What's your name?" She held out her hand for a quick handshake, as was customary when greeting someone new. At least, it was on Konats. Ashi wasn't too sure if it was a thing on Earth. "Mine's Ashi."

Looks like someone was getting on the defensive when called stupid. The Heran smirked at the sharp change in attitude, though this could have been a result of the alcohol. Kids these days had to prove themselves to the old veterans, didn’t they? He didn’t mind it, however, and in good spirits, poured himself another drink, the exact same one she had criticized for being a bit too soft earlier. There was something endearing about people acting as if they were fine even when they clearly weren’t, especially because he could relate very much with that feeling. It wasn’t his place to twist the knife into the wound, though, not after what he just went through. Instead, he opted for the alcohol as well, showing that he was no better than her if anything.
“Right. You’re good.”
It wasn’t before long until that she opened up a bit more to him, giving him enough details about what she had gone through to force him to finish his glass in one long gulp. He waited a moment, then let out a chuckle while considering her words, not even bothering to look her direction and he poured yet another glass.
“Yeah, tell me about it.”
Apparently, they were here for the same exact reasons. Fate had a strange way with things and while this encounter was probably nothing more than a coincidence, he just thought that maybe…maybe she could have a bit of insight on stuff. Something to meditate on. This would be for another time, because what he said about beating that Typha guy apparently attracted more than just her attention. Her whole expression changed and was it just him or did she seem overly satisfied with that statement? He frowned and she went on explaining the situation on Konats and her unlucky encounters with that guy.
He didn’t know what to think of it, other than the guy didn’t really seem to fit the sins he was guilty of. Goes to show not to judge a book by its cover, heh? Still, he was left a bit curious about this whole deal and couldn’t keep himself from asking for more details.
“What happened there?” he inquired, curious. “What’s this guy’s deal, anyway?”
He supposed her explanation would only give him a reason to justify his hatred of him. Still, feeling bad about her situation would still be a stretch at this point, as were most things that didn’t concern him directly. It was when she mentioned that he had to be stronger than her that he went back to his drink, without a word and emptied another glass in a matter of seconds. Alcohol was starting to kick in at this point, feeling lighter and more talkative, all of a sudden.
“Tch, I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Just got my ass handed over by some kid pretending to be God and a dead ghost.” It felt weird to say it like that. “I’m no better than you if anything. Still, I think I could beat up that loser again, just to change my mind.”
He looked at the hand in front of him, considered it for a few seconds and finally turned towards her in order to shake her hand, letting out a sigh at the same time.
“Alright. I’m Dosu.” He almost mentioned that he was part of the Stargoon, but wondered if it meant anything at this point.
He refilled his drink and poured hers as well, lifting the glass in order to celebrate.
“Well, here’s to us losers.”
And he drank it whole, once again.
“So, whaddya plan on doing, now?”

"What's his 'deal'?" Ashi echoed with a glance back over at the Heran. "Dude, I think he was dropped on his head as a baby or somethin'. Guy's certainly got a screw or two loose." Ashi held up one of her fingers at the blue skinned guy as if to say 'one moment' before lifting up the bottle in front of her and chugging straight from it for a good five seconds straight. That was probably four seconds too many, but even thinking about Typha gave Ashi the urge to get rip roaring wasted. When she put the bottle back down on the table, the Konatsian was a new woman - or she at least felt like it. Perhaps new wasn't the right word for it, though. 'Different' was likely a better word to describe how she felt. "Whoa," she mumbled as the walls and the floors looked to be switching places.
It took a moment or two for her head to stop spinning, but once it did, Ashi got right into her tangent. "He's some royal fuck who unleashed a buncha killer robots on all these peoples, the uh, pointy ear ones... Konatsians!" Ashi blinked silently a few times as she realized she'd forgotten the name of her own species for a moment there, but then carried on like nothing had happened. "Anyway, I got killed by one of 'em, and then he brought us all back somehow - no idea how - and then he has the gall to try and hide the fact that he got us dead! And then he wanted to be King. Or, his brother wanted. Uhh..." Ashi paused for a few seconds again, leaning forward and placing her hands on her face, her elbows resting on the countertop. God, why had she decided to drink this?
"Ugh, sorry," she mumbled through her hands. "Nice to meet you, Dosu. And, sorry you got your ass kicked, too." She reluctantly lifted her face and took another swig of her drink at the Heran's toast, letting out a cough soon after she did. "I'm going to apologize firsthand if I don't remember your name the next time we meet," she stated bluntly. "Also, uhh, I dunno, really. I think I came here looking to find people to help me go beat him up? I've kind of just been on my own my whole life, though, so, you know." She glanced over at Dosu, and asked, "You know any people who like going around beating people up?"

No Thinking, Just Drinking Dosu's PL: 32 000
It was hard sometimes to understand what drove people to act the way they did. Certainly, it would take quite the explanation to justify unleashing a bunch of killer robots on the masses and almost wiping out an entire race. Not something a “sorry” and a get well card could ever hope to fix. He knew the guy was a weird one when they met, now it was clear that Typha guy was an idiot at best.
“That’s some weird movie plot you’ve got there. Why would anyone do that only to bring them back and act as if nothing happened? Can’t you just shun him? Or is he forcing you to be thankful that he brought you back?”
Either way, it was a pretty dumb thing to do. If anything, he should bear the weight of his extraordinary mistake and just exile himself far away. Not take up the throne for himself. How much of a self-sufficient guy was he? Alcohol was getting to his brain and suddenly, that guy who he shouldn’t even care about was suddenly becoming someone he had to put down. In truth, it was just a bunch of feelings welling up inside the man that somehow redirected themselves towards the half-robot konatsian. He let the woman speak, not focusing on his own grief anymore as she talked about looking for people to beat that guy. He rose up from his seat and let out an angry shout that shook the whole bar, pumped up and ready to go.
“I’ll do it! I can beat that punk and pay him back for that scar he gave me. Don’t worry about my name, I’ve already forgotten yours, girl. Come on, where is he? I’ll split his damned skull in half!”
If anything, it was the best thing he could come up with to vent off after the sour defeat at the ends of Chime. Somehow, the folks in there weren’t too happy with the man getting too much attention at once. Most of the regulars here were small-time criminals, gangsters, and wannabe tough guys. One of them approached the Heran, going in for a sucker punch to the back of the neck. He was a rather tall-looking guy, giving off that menacing vibe with multiple scars and some teeth missing from a wide smile.
“Mister redhead feels like playing? Alright, I’ll be your partner.”
Dosu didn’t budge from the hit he received, turning around and headbutting the guy straight out of the bar, to everyone’s shock. Apparently, not everyone was used to these absurdly strong martial artists yet.
“Alright, girl. Tell me where he is! I’m itching for a fight, now.”
Impatient as he was, it’d be hard to contain him. Alcohol had taken him out of his slump and now in this inebriated state, he found himself with a little too much energy and even shorter temper than usual.

Ashi shrugged back at Dosu as she firmly set her drink back down, seemingly having forgotten the reason she was drinking so much in the first place was because of her self imposed drinking contest. Short term memory tended not to be one of the best skills of the inebriated. "He's like, uh, uh, whatcha call it," she paused momentarily and snapped her finger a few times before the proper word came to her. "Royalty! He's royalty. So, he's in charge of everything. Like that ginger midget with the monkey tail you guys have here on Earth. Er, except, by force." Well, at least she'd stopped him and his brother from fully taking the crown of King, but that didn't mean they weren't all still in huge positions of power over everyone else on the planet. Most people were probably afraid to even speak out against them, she figured. That must have been why she was the only one who dared speak out against them.
Before she could say anything more, though, the Heran suddenly stood up out of his seat and proudly declared he'd be willing to beat the crap out of Typha for her, along with a few other comments that gave away his slight tipsiness. She let out a snort at the sight, and took another sip of her drink as she idly watched another hooligan in the bar come up from behind Dosu and try to start a fight. His mistake. The Heran responded tenfold in kind to the blow he received, the headbutt so powerful it had the ruffian flying out the bar with enough force to possibly have killed him. Ashi wasn't sure, but she was impressed. "Well, then," she said with widened eyes as she leaned back to try and get a better angle on the possibly dead person outside the establishment.
"You uh, aren't worried about getting arrested, huh?" she asked the Heran without glancing back at him. She turned back around to face the bar and drank another sip of her drink - much to her surprise, she had apparently finished off the bottle. "Welp, my liver's gonna be feelin' that in the morning," she commented with a chuckle before setting the bottle back onto the bar, her ears visibly perking up as she listened to the Heran shout off some more of his pumped up, drunken fueled spiel. "Glad you're as eager as I am, but he's not even on the planet," she stated, turning around on her stool to face Dosu. "He's alllll the way back on Konats, far as I know. And, uh, he's like, stupid strong. I can't check power... Uh... Levels, that's the word, but he miiight still be too strong for just you. I sure fuckin' hope not, though."

No Thinking, Just Drinking Dosu's PL: 32 000
Dosu spat on the ground -the bar’s floor- as soon as he heard the mention of royalty. That guy really was proving himself to be the biggest turd he had ever met. Of course, he hated pretty much anything that was thought to have any kind of authority over anyone else. Be it Kings or presidents or spiritual leaders (also, the irony was that he was once called the King of the Night himself, although he couldn’t quite remember why), they all needed a good reality check in the form of his fist right across their face. Then came his declaration of putting that bastard Typha to the ground, just before he punched the bastard who came after him, sending him flying all the way out of the bar. He was feeling a bit woozy, certainly pumped and happy. At this particular moment, he was certain that nobody could stop him and just like that, most of his worries simply faded away. He was getting itchy, ready the fight just about anyone. Then, she said something about being worried about getting arrested. To that, he simply laughed. Perhaps a bit too much, but he’d have to blame the alcohol for that.
“What the hell are you saying? They’re all a bunch of chumps. No one is gonna arrest me. And if they try, they’ll just end up like that guy over there.”
To cut short to his fun, she then added that the guy wasn’t even on the planet. She mentioned the planet Konats and for some reason, that particular name moved something within him. He knew of the planet, but it shouldn’t have provoked such a reaction. Then again, that girl. Had he met her before? No, of course not, but he had a lingering impression of knowing someone who looked like her, although he couldn’t quite put his finger on who exactly. Whatever, probably some drunken bullshit. He shook his head and replied.
“Huh? Then let’s go find him. If he’s that important, then that means he’s gotta be easy to find, right?”
She had started to doubt him and that, he just couldn’t accept. He stood in front of her, arms crossed and a serious look on his face.
“What the hell is a power level? Look I don’t need none of that to put that bastard to his place. I did it once, that should suffice. Think I’m lying? Go ahead, take your best shot at me and I’ll show you just how strong I am.”
Nothing like a good example to prove his strength, right? He wasn’t going to hurt her. At least, not too much.
