The sun shown down upon the desert with an intensity hot enough to cause rolling heat waves, the horizon distorted by the waves of heat from the ground. A small island of rocks among-st the sea of sand, its orange a contrast to the yellow sand. In this rocks were a small range of little creatures that lived between the stone and some rested upon rocks to gain heat. There in this little haven sat a man or more appropriately an alien. The alien having three bodies nearby, each one in different states. He silently sat upon a rock, the three bodies lined up before him as he watched over them. One however was still squirming, ropes keeping him bound and from escaping.
Ark was the name of the alien, a strangely ironic name given that an Arc was suppose to be nice. This mercenary was anything but that, however the irony did not escape him. He was a feline looking alien, known as far as he knew as a Hakaishin, and his purple hide did well to broadcast it to the world. The worn armor he had on spoke volumes that he was not some passive or anything more than a soldier. Battle scars all across its surface told stories of countless battles and the look in the alien's eye did not speak differently. Another puff from the cigarette before it was finished, being discarded into a small opening between rocks.
"Let me go you damn alien!"
The one struggling said, his voice shaking with anger but his attention immediately returning to the blood on the ground near where his face would be resting if he let his head down. The two others were moving because they currently had holes in their heads, the one alive being kept near them as a reminder that Ark would not tolerate any resistance. Though the human seemed intent on wanting to be freed. Ark never understood why those captured kept making those demands, saying to 'release them' or "let me go now bastard!" tended to be the common phrases first. This was then usually followed by cursing or flailing wildly.
"No can do... You have a bounty on you friend."
Ark said before kicking the body of a nearby bounty over and searching the pockets. He didn't find anything but some usually things like knives or some worthless paper. The human was clearly dismayed to see the paper thrown away, meaning it was valuable here. A frown forming at the corners of Ark's mouth as he considered it.
"Please, I-I got a family! I'll do anything. I'll tell you where the others are!"
This got Ark's attention, looking at the human before smiling slightly. The human seeing his chance immediately began to tell the alien where he could find the four others of their group. Apparently they were in a forest to the north and when questioned why the bandits had been here he was told that they were robbing delivery trucks in the region. After the human gave him the desired information, Ark simply gave a long sigh of relief. He didn't like putting in a lot of work, so when this little fool just started spurting information, it made his job easier. Less beating involved which usually hurt his back, or wore him out easily.
"Well I do appreciate it. Truly... You saved me a lot of trouble of having to beat it out of ya."
Ark said with a chuckle as he kicked the living man over and began robbing him as well. This caused the human to be slightly worried that he was treating him like he was the corpses and immediately began to stammer questions.
"So you'll release me now right? I-I answered your questions and-and I didn't struggle. So please!"
Ark simply looked up at the man from his pockets and raised a brow in response. He never agreed to let the man go and the man had only told him what he wanted out of fear.
"I never said I'd let you go chief. Also, I need you to be quiet now."
With that the alien put a finger to the human's head and with a single point energy blast the deed was done. The human slumping in his grasp and going limp. With that the alien simply put on a small ear piece before making a call, his partner picking up the line before they arranged to meet near Ark's location. With that out of the way, Ark could finally sit back in peace, knowing full well that no one would disturb him out in the desert now.
