On the horizon, he saw his goal. A tall tower, stretching to the heavens, a line dividing the sky in two. The Lookout, home of the Kami of Earth. Soaring through the air, Wander curved upwards, beginning to rise as he approached. Of all the places on Earth, this was the one he was most curious about. The home of Kami and the Caretaker, a position once held by his ancestor. He had left it in rage, and none of the Children knew what had occurred here after.
Thus, his purpose here was threefold. To seek knowledge of the past. To offer apologies for his ancestor's acts. And finally, to determine his future.
He was sure whoever was currently Kami most likely had a caretaker of their own. Although....
He shook his head. It was a foolish notion, ridiculous. Humans did not live beyond a handful of decades in most cases. There was no way he was still alive and holding the position, but... A part of him still hoped that the man he had heard such tales of was there, even now. That the Serpent Master Bing Gan might yet live. An impossible dream, but one that he still held in his heart.
To meet a legend such as that... someone who had met the First in person, been his friend and equal in might.... perhaps even learn from him.
Casting such thoughts aside, Wander rose up through the clouds, and emerged not far from the circular platform. It was small, smaller than he expected. The Cathedral Gaia was much larger. Then again, it held many more people. Frowning slightly, he paused at the edge of the platform, looking around.
There was a door, yes. However, it was rather far away, and to get there, he would have to intrude on the demesnes of the Lookout. Problematic, that. He did not wish to enter when unwelcome, but to knock would require moving closer.
Puzzling over this for a moment, he quickly came to a conclusion. He used this same technique to dodge blows. Why not use it in a more unorthodox manner? Focusing, he reached within himself, and split the air. Rather than fully step through the Rift that had connected his current position and the door, however, he simply reached through and knocked twice, sharp but not urgent. Withdrawing his hand and letting the rift snap shut, Wander simply folded his legs and sat in the air just beyond the bounds of the lookout, waiting patiently.
Whenever someone arrived, regardless of who they might be, he would greet them appropriately. Bowing, the tree spoke with his mind, mouthless face creasing slightly in a manner which implied a smile through eyes alone. "Greetings. My name is Wander. Might you be the honored one known as the Kami of Earth?"
