[Thread PL = 5,000 PL]
North City was smaller than central city for sure. Definitely a strange change in size. It was still a city however, so it was large, even larger than most villages or clan homes in the demon realm. And yet everyone was so friendly, well relatively speaking. There were still people that screamed or ran at his appearance, but at this point he had gotten used to it. Where as the Dokuro clan was large and prevalent in most of the demon realm, here they were all but one. Still, surely this wouldn't be his fate forever would it? being screamed at or causing fear because of his bare bones appearance?
"How troublesome." He muttered to himself as he walked down the street, staff tapping against the ground every so often. "Can't even ask for directions without getting a funny look." He muttered. "If I knew this would be the general reaction to my appearance in the mortal realm I would have invested in a disguise." A sigh escaped him and he shook his head as he continued on.
He'd stop occasionally, asking for directions, possibly even a map, only to realize he had no coin of this realm. A curse was muttered under his breath before he continued on. Was this what living in squalor was like? Going place to place asking for help but getting none? He stopped for a moment reminiscing about his past. It was so long ago that he had to live like that... He'd been a King for Eons now. He had almost forgot what it felt like.
A slow sigh escaped him as he continued on. Maybe he'd find someone to help.

THE PROMISE
CAFFEY'S PL: 20
Beyond the horizon, the sun illuminated the shimmering haze of pollution. In the far distance, the silhouette of the skyline pierced through the warm glow like a jagged mountain ridge. Millions of lights caused the dense mass of skyscrapers glitter. People were needle points and cars were blood cells flowing through the veins of the city. Despite the time, the hustle and bustle never came to a halt. The city's residents were off for a movie or to chill out in a smoky jazz bar downtown.
...Well, most residents.
"BEEP BEEP, BIRD COMING THROUGH!" Caffey zoomed through the sparsely populated sidewalks on his brand new Mega Wheel tricycle. It was a dinky and dirty, plastic trike in reality that was a little too close to the ground, yet made pedaling easy with one big wheel. Despite all this, the blue flames painted on it's surface, coupled with some white as a base coat, made it a obvious choice when Caffey's father brought him along to pick one out as a reward for getting good grades.
His new wheels turned over the wet track, Caffey's speed bringing the cold sprinkle of rain into his face harder than it would were he was walking. Caffey's jacket gave up on keeping his body dry a while ago after zooming through a few dozen deep puddles, and his trunk was as wet as his legs. On a rainy day like this there was just no point in heavy clothes, the only thing that would keep Caffey warm was his own movement, and of course his thick winter coat of feathers.
Caffey couldn't help but to laugh out loud as he soared through yet another puddle, them water splashing up and to the sides. Yet, as he rounded the corner, the little bird would come to a screeching halt when a towering figure found itself right in front of him while he wasn't paying attention.
With a gasp, Caffey slammed on the breaks. The bike itself stopped just shy of the King of Bones, yes, but the boy himself was flung right off and over the skeleton! Wings spread out to his side and flapping haphazardly, Caffey managed to hold himself in the air after flipping and faltering a few dozen times in the span of a few seconds. Shaking his head, he'd turn to the man he nearly rammed into, concern wrought across his face. "Ohmygosh, a-a-are you OK? I-I didn't hit you, did I? I hope not. I reaaaaallly hope not." He glanced off to the side, plopping back on the ground and fidgeting with his fingers.

Aten inhaled and exhaled casually walking through the streets of the city with a small smirk on his face. He was trying to forget about him possibly eating a Shinjin alive, Aten really hoped he didn't. However, after a while of running and calming down, he stumbled upon North City which was cool. Aten eyes widened when he first arrived in the city honestly this was what he was hoping for. To be in a city since he heard many wonderful things about it. This was where from his knowledge where most mortals lived in, so Aten wanted to explore the cities. Turns out the closest one was the North city.
Aten walked around town in a casual demeanor, he was looking around everywhere and at the mortals. "Okay, what to say when I approach them I think hi I'm a god! No no that'd be too idiotic, plus i'm not really a god yet. Uh," Aten continued to mumble to himself while walking down the streets. People looked at him as if he was strange and oddly enough Aten didn't notice this at all. "Okay so...hi? How are you? I think that works, yeah that probably works. However, I need to continue the conversation...oh." Aten looks around noticing people were looking at him strangely. Was it his looks? After all, Aten was certainly different, or maybe what he said? Aten cursed in his mind he didn't want to some like a weirdo to others already! "Uh...hello mortals! I'm a mortal as well! Just like you!" Aten had a smile on his face he learned that smiling was apparently good for conversations. The mortals looked at him strangely and walked away.
Aten rolled his eyes sighing, "Well that was annoying." He walked away and then heard something close by. He walked towards the source and noticed a red bird in a distressed state. There was another person there as well and Aten grinned. He had expertise in healing and he could converse with the mortal over there, maybe then he'd learn how to converse with them. "Hey did something happen?"

Gasha had been so absorbed in his own thoughts he barely even noticed Caffey until the bird was sent through the air. He lowered his hand from his chin, staring down at the bike for a few moments before he turned fully to Caffey. Two gleaming red dots burned in his eye sockets as the demon turned fully to face the bird. He held his staff tightly in a hand while his skeletal form could be seen through his robes. The rain pelted down on the two of them, though it didn't seem to have much of an affect on Gasha. The 8ft tall Skeleton rose a boney hand slowly, pointing at Caffey. Dark whisps of energy pulled off of his form, like a black mist that seemed to dissipate in after a few moments. "....That is a very large bird." He stated, mostly to himself. He then realized that Caffey spoke, causing him a bit of surprise.
"Oh.. Yes little one I am fine." He said. "No harm came to me." His eyes seemed to gleam in the darkness of his skull. "Are you alright?"
He hadn't even noticed the Shinjin, far too focused with the large talking bird in front of him. "How did you get so large? And how can you talk?" He looked Caffey over quickly, crouching down to get a better look. "Are you a Familiar? Perhaps a spell was cast upon you?" If caffey didn't stop him the skeleton would pick up Caffey like a foot ball and begin looking him over like some sort of toy. Turning every which way, even upside down as he tried to make sense of the little birdboy.

The bird chimed, shifting out of his concerned mood quickly once the skeleton said he was alright.Caffey whistled, standing on his toes and leaning to the skeleton. "Wowza, you can make your eyes glow? How do you do that-- it's so cool!? It's so cool!" Caffey's eyes began to sparkle like diamonds. "And--and how are you so tall too? You're like, even taller than Uncle Cotali!" He chimed, bouncing up and down now. His day had just begun, and he already had met a SUPER cool person! What were the odds of that?
Caffey tilted and turned his head, eyeing a purple-skinned, white-haired human of the sort. Another cool friend? What luck! "Hello, friend! I was just riding my Mega Wheel all like WHOOOOSSSHHhhh, and then I rounded the corner and--!" Caffey's words were interrupted by a soft, yet startled chirp when the skeletal man's hand wrapped around his form. Still, the doofy smile remained as he found himself shifted about. "Hello up there, friend!" Caffey chimed, waving while he was held upside-down. "Is this what it's like to be tall? Woooaaaah...." The bird whistled, impressed. He gave the nearby Shinjin another wave also, still cheery as before despite his predicament. Remembering the skeleton's earlier question, Caffey recalled his teachings at school.
"Oh, I'm a zoo... zooanpro... zoanthropol... zoanropiel... uh..." Caffey paused while dangling about, unable to pronounce his species name for the life of him. Still, he could remember the short version, which was coupled with a snap of his feathery fingers. "Zoan! Earthling! Yeah! That's the short version, at least! And what's a fam... Famlaier?" He chirped again, turning his head around to eye the purple man. It was rude to leave someone out of the conversation, as he learned from his father's lessons, so he'd invite the man back in, still blissfully not minding being held and investigated like some rare gem. "So, what brings you here, other friend?"

(Sorry for responding so late! I was sleeping then had school!)
Aten upon further inspection noticed that there was a demon here. A rather cool looking demon at that. Aten looked at the bird who seemed like a child and then back at the demon, he put both things together and figured out what happened here. When the bird talked he definitely was a child, that or a really immature adult. However, most likely it was the former and just a child.
Aten was going to make assumptions that the demon may seem evil however that was quickly erased when the demon starting to ask if the child was alright or not. Aten was just observing right now since he did seem to be ignored for the most part, plus he wanted to see how they interacted for no apparent reason. Although it seemed like the child did notice him, which made Aten feel a little bit happier. Apparently, Aten guess on what happened was almost right when the child gave the explanation of how he almost crashed into the demon. He waved back to the child as well. When the child spoke and didn't know how to say a word, Aten chimed in. "Uh, I think you mean familiar?" Aten wasn't sure if that was what he meant but hoped it was. Otherwise, Aten would look dumb.
Finally, the bird decided to let Aten into the conversation, Aten shrugged and replied to the nice kid. "Uh, just some tourist. First time on Earth wanted to see what's it like." He had a grin slowly stretching across his face. The demon seemed nice and certainly looked cool, while the kid was pretty much nice.

Caffey would find himself being placed back on the ground, before receiving a pat on the head. "You said you are an earthling? A Zoan? I did not know Humans came in animal form..." He stood up straight as his gaze now wandered to the other whom approached. Purpleish skin... Humanoid. Long pointed ears. Either this was another variety of human or... Gasha couldn't put his finger on it, but he remembered seeing someone like him in the past. They visited the demon realms a few times to "boss" everyone around. What were they again?
"Shinjin." He spoke aloud, those whisps of dark energy still seeping out of his form. "Why would a shinjin come to the Mortal Realm?" His red beads glowing in his skull. "There is no reason for your kind to be in this place, unless a great disaster is about to strike." He rose a hand slowly, pointing at the Kai. "Is that why you are here? Because a great disaster is about to befall Earth and its Mortal inhabitants?"
He watched the shinjin for a few more moments before returning his focus to Caffey. He knelt down, as to not be so imposing. "You should be more careful when riding your vehicle, Little One." He said softly. "If you do not take care of yourself and your surroundings you may very well put yourself, and others in harms way." He moved a hand back, picking up the bike before setting it besides Caffey. "And were a helmet. In or Out of battle a helmet is a most important piece of equipment. You never know when someone may come up behind you and strike you in the head. Or when you will trip and fall."
He stood back up, focus returning to the Shinjin. "I will not tell you how to do your job, or live your life. But if earth is in danger, you might as well tell the world. The mortals have a right to know."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the thing!" Caffey commented when his pronunciation of "familiar" was corrected by the Shinjin. He did say he was a tourist as well, but... this was his first time on Earth? "Oh geez, so you're an alien? That's AWESOME!" Caffey spoke again, though his new demon friend seemed to be in a much more... concerned mood.
Caffey's cheery expression began to sink. A disaster facing the Earth? Like in those scary zombie movies his friends would watch, or during the Saiyan Invasion in the Serpent Master Movie? Caffey swallowed hard, fidgeting with his fingers now. He hoped everything would be okay- no, he knew everything would be okay! Puffing his chest out and closing his eyes while he amped himself up, Caffey tried to focus on some of the positives. Maybe he'd be a real superhero, protecting and saving people if bad stuff came along! Yeah! That'd be cool!
While he was amping himself up, the skeleton crouched down again, which snapped Caffey out of his determined daze. "Huh?" The bird chimed, nodding along to the man's words. Tossing a capsule into the air, which poofed open to plop a baseball light blue helmet down onto his head, Caffey would give an affermative grunt and nod in response to his advice. Then, the Shinjin, as he was called, was brought back to attention. "So, uh, is there or is there not gonna be some big apopoal... apopalapse? I think that's what Whisk called those zombie movies, at least..." Caffey put a hand to his chin, head tilted to the side curiously.

Aten was liking how things were going so far. Seems like the child was impressed that Aten was out of this world, Aten was going to reply to the kid about how it was no big deal and how other people not from this world roamed here. Well, he was going to do that until Bones started to speak. "Wait, wait, wait. I'm not here because of some major disaster. I'm flattered you think I'm some god, however as hard as it may think to believe. Not every Shinjin is some god that people need to pray in front of. Hell, I don't have any duties like that, I just came here to learn more about the world. that's all really." Aten raised his hands trying to defend himself from the things the demon had said.
Aten then rolled his eyes and sighed at the last comment the demon made. He knew shinjins had a place in the universe to govern it, however, that's when they rise up and become kaioshins. Aten was just a simple nobody right now, just looking to learn more about the world. Aten looked at the kid and crouched down having a big smile, "Nope no apocalypse, just the world going to blow up." Aten waited a second then giggled, "Nah teasing you. No apocalypse, no nothing like that is coming. Well at least from my knowledge, there could be something bad happening later on. I just came here to learn about the world."
Aten got up and stretched his arms, "So what are your names? Don't know if that's rude or not, but I'll say mine. The name is Aten a Shinjin as you know, so what's up."

Well this shinjin certainly didn't act like one. He wasn't anything like the one Gasha had encountered several eons ago. This one was relaxed, Casual.... Disrespectful. Gasha held his staff tightly as the Shinjin spoke before shaking his head. "To think they just let you run about willy nilly, and yet they claim to be the higher powers..." He muttered to himself. He sighed before looking back down to Caffey.
"If what this one says is true, then no. Earth is not facing an apocalypse, or any real danger." He said. "Still. A shinjin appearing is grounds for concern. At least for myself..." He'd watch Caffey put on his helmet and chuckled to himself. "Now, do be careful when riding this time. Treat your bike as you would treat a horse. Respect, and good graces. Treat it well and it will treat you well. And don't push it so hard. Otherwise it may cease to function."
His attention then turned back to the Shinjin. He asked for their names. Gasha was not one to forgo manners. He rose a hand, as if proclaiming something. "I am Gasha-Dokuro. Leader of the Dokuro demon clan." He said. "Shinjin and Demons alike may know me as The King of Bones." He brought his free hand to his face, coughing into it. "But most people just call me Gasha."
After his introduction he'd stand up a bit straighter before pointing at the Shinjin. "If you are here to explore and learn. I suggest you do your best to make friends with the humans and allow them to teach you naturally. Have experiences that a human would. Perhaps even live as one for a few dozen years. That is the best advice I can give you on this matter."

THREAD EXIT- GOTTA FREE MYSELF UP SORRYYYYY
"I KNEW IT!" Caffey chimed when the Shinjin claimed the world would just explode. It was just like what was going to happen in Lu's Dungeons and Dragoballs campaign! Alas, the bird would sigh and slump in relief when the man revealed he was just messing around. The bird continued to nod along to Gasha's advice, raising his own head after when introductions were in order. "Oh, I'm Caffey! Caffey Hawthorn!" The bird spoke, rocking to and fro on his feet now...
He was about to ask a little more about what a Shinjin was, or what the heck was a demon clan, but a little buz in his pocket diverted his attention. His ZPhone, swarmed with texts he forgot about from his worried father that had been messaging him for the past ten minutes, caused him to chirp in shock and concern. "Ah, crud- I gotta go back to my dad now!" He fthrew his wings into the air, trotting forwards and hopping back on his bike. "Well, it was nice meeting you guys, let's play later for sure!"
"Seee you lateeeer!" The bird whistled, taking off on his bike once more into the great unknown. Today was a good day.
