Of all the things that happened so far today, Celirii never expected that her little tactic would actually work. Each impact of her fists and feet against Yacha that followed surprised her to her core. She hardly believed it as she felt the vibrations through her bones, and the way that Yacha’s body refused to budge to any of them. Clearly, they didn’t feel good but they also failed to faze her in the slightest. Breezes on a warm spring day, or something as equally harmless, was how it looked to the older Saiyan pitted against someone who could have been her little sister.
That did not bode well.
Yacha finally just dropped back down to the surface, much faster than her new comrade could follow. Yet, Celirii insisted, and chased her back towards the dirt and rocks below. She landed across from her and kept a long distance between them. Her chest heaved slightly beneath her striped tanktop, and she felt her sports bra strain against her a bit more after all that sudden exertion and everything that followed. She rolled her shoulders just to get everything back into a more comfortable place.
Then, with little more than a flick of her wrist, a massive, azure sphere of energy appeared overhead. It immediately changed the shadows it cast over the rocky land around them both and Celirii’s eyes visibly widened. She felt her heart, already thundering, skip a few beats while her breath caught in her throat. She stared as the sphere grew and grew, with small chunks of rock beginning to float into the air around them both.
That would kill her. Celirii didn’t need a scouter or any other way of detecting energy to know that. She could feel it. Somewhere, deep in her very biological essence, she knew she would die if she faced that head on. Every tiny little hair on her body stood on end and, from a deep and primal place, her soul desperately urged her to run.
Blue flashed to life around Celirii as she took to the air and flew straight away from Yacha. That momentary headstart proved vital as Yacha’s blast, when she finally threw it moved with an otherworldly speed for something of that size. As Celirii flew, raced, through the sky, she flipped onto her back and let the wind buffet the back of her head. She brought her hands together and let her own, blue mass of energy come to life in both of her palms.
“Super…!!” she shouted out as the desperation leaked into her voice and the sphere threatened to descend upon her entirely. She pointed her hands not at the blast, that would certainly be pointless, but at the ground, to propel her up and away even faster than her own flight could.
“Stardust Wave!!!” She shrieked at the last possible moment as the torrent of energy spilled forth, adding one last push to her panicked escape. In the second that followed, the blue wave shattered against the azure sphere right before it impacted the ground near Celirii and detonated.
The explosion was hot and violent, enough to toss boulders and Celirii alike as if they weighed nothing at all. The older Saiyan screamed as she tumbled through the air, her tail loose, hair wild, while the heat of the blast rolled over her. She felt her skin burn and even sizzle while other rocks and debris crashed mercilessly into her body. Blood splattered through the air in just the seconds of chaos that followed the initial explosion for, suddenly, her body smashed into a cliffside wall; then, she continued through it.
A second one, too. A third followed right after that.
Finally, after she burst through the other side of the massive wall of rock, she tumbled, hundreds and hundreds of meters from the initial blast site. Her body, burnt and bruised and bloodied, tumbled along the ground, motionless and strengthless alike. Her eyes were closed and blood poured from the top of her head, covering her face.
Nothing moved, saved for a single twitch of a single finger, as debris started to fall lightly from the sky and threaten to bury the small girl.
That did not bode well.
