Setting up Camp

To really understand a planet one couldn't solely rely on the people native to its land. Partial gain in knowledge might be achieved but unfortunately this wasn't found in conversation. Only acquired through a unique experience one only experienced through travel, the subtleties of nature only seen by a hiker's eye. Awe striking complexity found in every nook and cranny if someone just looked hard enough. True beauty found in its purest state, uninfluenced by the Konatsian or in this case the Arcosian hand. The way the sun rose in the morning, that mere breeze against your cheek on a windy evening. Yuca sought to find that feeling again, but to do so on Arcose? A bleak and unforgiving planet that many chose to avoid, without preparations it'd be a reckless endeavor. Their idea of nature not one he familiar, finding difficulty planning even in its early stages.
Many territories charted were all urbanized but most of the undiscovered territory seemed to be concentrated in one place. The Konatsian stood at the heart of it all, rumored to be one of the coldest places in the galaxy. Ground in everlasting permafrost, the temperature an intensity he hadn't quite felt before. "If my map serves me correctly this is it. The Glacial Belt." He rose his head up, getting a proper sense of location. Studying the particular mountains in the visible area. Orientating himself accordingly as the map served him well in understanding his position, relatively speaking.. "Officially here then, anymore north and I stray away from the equator. And anymore south, well I'll only be doing the same." Yuca put the map away, his goal set as he hoped to successfully brave a night in such an inhospitable terrain.
Making the most of his strenuous journey across foreign terrain. While he did have a resistance to the climate, performing any task took much longer than he thought it would. Setting up camp to the best of his ability under a night sky, his lantern providing the sole light source for miles. "I guess that settles it then, not too bad considering the conditions.." Given no incentive to stay outside any longer, the alien entered the tent. Secluding himself from the savage elements, whelmed by the quiet. In a short moments time a light would shine from within the tepee revealing his faint silhouette. Likely a fire evident by the smoke billowing upwards from the opening in his tent. "I wonder, is this place really so void of life? For a species that can survive the depths of space, I'd have thought they'd live here."
