"Wow, boss I had no idea you were friends with the Queen." Narissa let out a whistle as she looked around the palace waiting room. It was different than she had imagined it looking. Not that she thought it looked bad or anything. It was just...different from what she had pictured in her head. When she imagined a 'Saiyan Palace' she just pictured something more tribal and warrior-like. Not whatever the heck was going on with those large pillars. The whole building just gave off a fancy vibe. "By the way did you see the tech those guards were wearing?" She nodded her in direction of the palace guards. "It looks like they could use some upgrades. I really really wouldn't mind getting my hands on it." Narissa's thoughts didn't stay on one subject for very long. Always jumping from one topic to the next.
Scallio took a heavy drag from his cigarette as he listened to the Heran talk. He was leaning against one of the walls. Totally ignoring the perfectly decent bench next to him. Just like the last time he had been here Scallio found himself on edge. Because of this, he couldn't bring himself to take a seat. Opting to stand and smoke in the hopes that it take a bit of the edge off. And it might of actually worked for him too. If he didn't have Narissa to worry about. "First," he exhaled a stream of smoke, "don't get any smart ideas about taking the guards equipment. We're trying to make a good impression here okay?" Scallio didn't give her any time to reply. "And secondly I told you already that I'm not friends with the Queen." he wasn't exactly sure what to define their relationship as.
Did they even have some sort of relationship? They had only met once after all. And Scallio wasn't even sure he'd made a good impression during their training. If anything he'd only pissed her off. And shown her that he was impatient and reckless. Not that he was going to deny that those statements were true. Because they most certainly were true.
"If you guys aren't friends then why did she agree to meet with you?"
"Excellent question." and one he didn't know the answer to. When he reached out the Queen's guard about arranging a meeting. Scallio had expected to get shot down rather quickly. So when they got back to him about a time to visit the palace. He was very much surprised. Perhaps that had been a sign that she did remember him from the training session the other day. Or he had just gotten lucky. Either way, it was a good thing for him. It meant that he'd finally get a chance to talk with the Queen about his whole purpose in Vegeta in the first place. Getting the Crimson Apes properly aligned with the Saiyan Kingdom. In the seven years since he had taken control of his father's mercenary company. This was his first major move and it certainly was a big one.
If it worked out like he wanted Scallio would end up gaining a lot. Reputation and steady income being two of the major things. Both of which Scallio and the Crimson Apes were in desperate need of. They were bringing in just enough to barely get by and he was tired of it. Frustrated over the situation. He took one last hit from the cigarette. Putting it out on his tongue and tossing the bud into his pocket. Just in time too, as two of Kayen's guard approached the duo.
"The Queen is ready to see you now. Please follow us."
Scallio nodded his head and motioned for Narissa to come along as he followed behind the guards. He had assumed they'd be meeting in the throne room. So Scallio was surprised when they traveled passed it and towards a different section of the palace. Where exactly were they taking him? He'd have to wait and find out.

With a screech of fear Kayen’s sparring partner went down. Not because Kayen had actually hit them, no they had gone down almost the second after Kayen had started winding up her punch. “Really Barb?” Kayen said dropping out of her fighting stance and stepping over to the curled up form of her lead Technician, idly Kayen poked at her back with her boot just to make sure Barb had not passed out from fear. “Sorry Kayen, maybe this was a bad idea… you’re a bit… completely terrifying to see coming at you” Barb responded slowly uncurling herself and switching to a seated positin on the gym floor. Kayen was very tempted to correct Barb as she had not even actually moved to ‘come at’ her by the time Barb had let out her shriek. “You’re the one that wanted to train with me to see if you could get stronger” “and to see if your gear was working right” Kayen rolled her eye at Barb’s addition even if it WAS correct she knew it had been more the technician’s aim to try to get over her fear of fighting. “Maybe we’ll work up to us sparring, we can bring in Skash, I’m sure you wouldent mind seeing him in his workout gear” Kayen said giving Barb a grin as the half-Saiyan’s face went completely red and she sputtered attempts at words that Kayen was sure were supposed to be denials. As a mercy to Barb Kayen’s scouter blinked as a message came in from the man she had just mentioned, Skash sent along a reminder of a meeting that Kayen had actually been interested in and thus had NOT put off for several weeks. “Ah looks like Scallio’s on his way for whatever it is he wanted, feel like sticking around?” Kayen questioned but Barb was already making a hasty retreat mumbleing through a declining of the offer her face still a deep red as she scurried out the doorway and likely off to her workshop. It really was quite amusing how easy it was to rile her up. With that Kayen shrugged and started taking swings at her heavy bag awaiting the arrival of Scallio, he would not leave her waiting long as the door to the gym slid open revealing Scallio and an interesting and new companion flanked by a pair of guards. “Yo, welcome to my meeting room” Kayen said taking one last swing at the heavy bag causing it to swing dangerously as she stepped away from it. “I don’t care much for the throne room and all the high and mighty shit so I do most of my work here, Skash told me you were looking for a meeting, whats up?"

The walk to where ever they were being led was quiet. Which was surprising because Scallio, he'd been expecting Narissa to ask questions. It seemed as though even she was starting to realize the seriousness of the situation. That they, the son of nobody Saiyan and the exiled daughter of a Heran warlord were about to meet with royalty. Technically Scallio was about to meet with her for the second time. But that didn't stop him from feeling anxious as they drew closer and closer to their destination. The sliding doors of the palace gym were fast approaching. He could hear the Queen fighting something within. It was hearing these sounds that caused a thought to pop into Scallio's head. "Shit what if she thinks I want to train again?" he'd certainly gotten stronger since then. But not strong enough to deal with the Queen on his own.
If that was the case he'd just have to calmly explain the situation to her. He'd find out soon enough though. As he and Narissa stepped into the gym. Kayen greeted them with a welcome and solid strike to her punching bag. Sending it rocking back and forth in a haphazard and dangerous fashion. Scallio actually looked slightly relieved that she seemed to have already done some training for today. "Interesting choice for a meeting room," Scallio said as he looked around and stepped further into the gym. It was well-equipped that was certain. Although that was to be expected. It was a gym in a Saiyan palace after all. To expect anything less would have been foolish. "I can understand where you're coming from though. Can't imagine how uncomfortable that throne room must feel for a warrior." and that's what she right? A warrior.
"Uh..boss?" Narissa stepped forward and tugged at the back of Scallio's shirt. One could read how nervous she was all over her face. Normally she oozed with confidence and charm but not today. Or at least not right now. Something about meeting with not only the Queen of all Saiyans but a known Super Saiyan made her uneasy. "Shouldn't we be bowing right now?" wasn't that the polite thing to do? Kayen WAS a queen after all and typically you bowed before addressing royalty.
"Weren't you listening Kayen isn't a big fan of all that stuff." he didn't fault Narissa for asking. He'd actually kneeled to Kayen on their first meeting. But she had been quick to correct him. "But anyway. Kayen this is Narissa," he motioned in her direction, "She's a member of my mercenary crew the Crimson Apes." and now it was time to start his sale pitch. He'd been waiting for this moment since landing on Vegeta. Scallio had practiced what he was going to say a hundred times over. Just so that he wouldn't forget or mess this chance up. But even with all that being said. For someone reason, it still took him a second to find his voice. "As for why I wanted to meet it's actually about the Crimson Apes." he began, "I've been leading them for roughly seven years now. Before that my father ran the company and he made some really bad choices. Almost destroyed us. That and some more...personal reasons led to me killing him and taking control." his body felt tense recalling the events of his past.
"I'm not trying to tell you my life story or anything. Just trying to give you a bit of context and help you understand. That for the last seven years I've been working my fucking ass off to fix what my father almost broke." Scallio swallowed hard, what he wanted to say hung on the tip of his tongue. "So that's why I'd like to have the Crimson Apes official aligned with the Saiyan Kingdom. My father's biggest mistake was spitting in the face of our homeland. And I'd like for that to change. You saw how I fought the other day. I can promise that you can expect that same level of prowess from each and everyone one of my men." and he was confident of this. Even Narissa, who was the weakest of his crew, he had utter confidence in. Even if it at times it seemed to be the opposite. Scallio paused and waited anxiously for the Queen to reply. Depending on how she responded Scallio had more to say and offers to make.

“Ramen likes the throne room a bit better, I think she gets a kick out of hanging out on the throne” Kayen said with a shrug “I’m used to a less… fancy sort of leadership, I mostly just use the throne room when I want to spook someone with the big chair” Kayen said with a grin rolling her shoulders and grabbing a towel from a nearby rack that she promptly slung over her shoulders as Scallio’s companion hurriedly tried to get the Saiyan to follow any sort of standard procedure for dealing with royalty. Kayen was pleased to see though that Scallio remembered what she had said before the training had begun, she had no interest in bowing and titles unless she wanted to make a POINT, and these two had at least so far not bothered her enough to earn that sort of attention from her. Kayen’s expression remained mostly neutral as Scallio launched into his explanation of who she was followed by why he had made the request for this meeting, he lead a mercenary crew and was looking to A) continue rebuilding the crew and  make it an official part of the Kingdom, undoing what his father had done. “Eh, I don’t know your dad, and I assume that since you ended up killing him he wasn’t the best fit, but I don’t begrudge splitting off from the Kingdom BEFORE now, the Kingdom was all about maintaining the peace before, not a sustainable avenue for a Merc group” The name of the group actually sounded a bit familiar. “But considering you had to take the reigns I’m guessing he didn’t have the stuff to pull off leading a crew without a major organization backing him. Shame you never made it out my way by Raiti, we could have been working together sooner if you had” Kayen said with a shrug, Scallio was reasonably strong, he’d been a cut above the rest even during the first training session which likely would have carried over even a few years ago. “But things have changed now, and the Kingdom could most certainly use the services of warriors like yourself and whoever else makes up your crew. I don’t see any reason not to welcome the Crimson Apes back into the Kingdom”

It took a second for Scallio to come to terms with everything being said. Not only had Kayen agreed to welcome the Apes into the Kingdom in an official capacity. She had also mentioned that they could have been working together sooner. A statement that felt like a compliment considering who it had come from. "Truth be told we often avoided Rati and the surrounding area because of you. You had quite the reputation even before becoming queen." he wondered if that made him out to be cowardly. Not that he felt his choice had been made of cowardice. In the end, it likely didn't matter. What did matter is that he had just completed the first major step in his plan to restore the Crimson Apes.
Once word got out that the Kingdom was supporting the Apes, they'd have no issue getting clients and recruits. Scallio did his best to keep his composure. But the excitement over Kayen's decision couldn't help but show on his face. "You won't regret this, of that I can assure you," he said with a nod of his head. Those were only just words of course. He needed to be able to back them up. Otherwise, the only thing Kayen would get was deadweight. This where the other things that Scallio wished to talk with her about came into play. A chance to prove the value his crew would have for the Kingdom. Scallio motioned for Narissa to step forward and join him. Despite the success of the conversation so far she was hesitant but did so regardless.
"The reason I brought Narissa with me today is that I'd like to offer you her services."
"Woah, wait, hold on a second their boss. What do you mean by my services? Because, and," she gestured at Kayen, "no offense to you Kayen, but I'm not sleeping with anyone for you. Royalty or not."
Scallio let out an audible groan and pinched at the bridge of his nose. This seriously wasn't happening right now, was it? "Not like that Narissa you idiot." maybe he really shouldn't have brought her along. "I'm offering your services as an engineer and inventor." he couldn't stress that point enough.
"Oh...okay carry on then."
He sighed and returned his full attention to the Queen and their conversation. "As I was saying. I'd like to offer Narissa's services to you. She's an extremely skilled engineer and inventor. She's pretty much solely responsible for all equipment related issues the crew has. She even rebuilt are ship's gravity chamber from the ground up." and she'd basically been using spare parts to get the job done too. "So if there is anything you might need her for please make use of her." he finished with a nod. He wasn't done talking though. Scallio had one last thing he wanted to bring to the Queen's attention. "And I notice that Vegeta is still in a state of repair from the WTF takeover. Is there anything me and my crew can do to help?" he'd cone a couple of contracts related to the restoration of Vegeta since arriving. But it was clear that Scallio was looking for something bigger than helping an old men rebuild his house.

Kayen chuckled at Scallio mentioning that he crew had apparently specifically avoided Raiti because of her, she supposed she could see the logic there to an extent, she had been a major thorn in the Kingdom’s side for so long it was likely many believed she would simply attack ANY Saiyan when the reality was that she had no actual issues with her people, just the idiotic way it’s King had been running the show. And of course it was easy money. “I’d better not” Kayen said with a grin that seemed equally pleased and dangerous, aiming to show Scallio that while she was very interested in working with his crew that if he DID give her reason to regret the partnership that she would be VERY angry and it was likely to him that her anger would be directed. That look was broken at Scallio’s next comment, earning a… intrigued raise of the eyebrow from Kayen, she had a feeling it was UNLIKELY he was offering what one could assume he was offering, especially considering Narissa’s reaction, it WAS an amusing and not entirely unpleasant possibility. “Another engineer and inventor would be good. My team is currently being headed by one of my technicians, Barb, but she’s a bit swamped at the moment with all the work she has to handle. She’s excellent at her job but she’s still not quite used to being the lead” Barb had, before Kayen had taken over, been ‘just another’ technician, she was amazingly bright but still young and relatively new. It would likely have been years maybe decades under different circumstances before she reached her current level considering the age of the last lead technician. But being the one best able to work alongside Kayen had skyrocketed her to the top. “I’m also not entirely opposed to the other meaning of that offer if you change your mind” Kayen said giving Narissa a grin before returning her attention to Scallio “Nashua is working on a… quick fix for the damages and it’s likely she’ll succeed. What we really need now is a push to improve some of our tech, a lot of things ended up getting scaled back after the last war as power signatures dropped during peace time. Barb’s having a hell of a time trying to push out upgrades to the Scouters to bring them up to par structurally to the older models ability to read power signatures while maintaining all of the more modern upgrades, I’m also hoping to get some improvements to basic workout equipment throughout the Kingdom, same as with scouters, when power dropped the need for training equipment that could DO anything for someone of yours and my power levels became irrelevant. Barb made me some gym equipment but the method she used is not particularly cost-efficient to outfit a gym meant for many people, let alone MULTIPLE gyms between planets” Kayen said, the last part slipping out perhaps unintentionally, after all why would they need to outfit any planets beyond Vegeta? The Kingdom only had one planet. For now.

Narissa let out a nervous laugh when the Queen winked at her, her cheeks turning a deep and thanks to her blue skin, very noticeable, red. "R-r-right." she couldn't have been more thankful when Kayen quickly returned her attention to Scallio. A brief sigh of relief escaping from her lips.
The mercenary's head tilted to the side when Kayen mentioned a 'quick fix'. "I'm sorry but a quick fix?" his curiosity over the statement was quite clear. There was still a fair amount to be done from what he'd seen. So unless this Nashua person was capable of magic. Scallio didn't know how'd she managed to quickly fix the current state of Vegeta. But despite his curiosity, it wasn't really any of his concern in the long term. The Queen obviously had things under control. And that was truly all he needed to know. Besides, this meant that she could hopefully have something more exciting for his crew to handle. It seemed like she had a lot of tech work that needed to be done more than anything though. Which meant that Scallio really had made the right move in bringing Narissa along. The things that Kayen needed to get done were all well within her wheelhouse.
Narissa, still recovering from her previous exchange with Kayen, stepped up from behind Scallio again. Taking up a position directly next to him as she addressed the Queen. Moving a stray hair from her face she began to speak, "Scouter upgrades can be a real pain. I recently just got done upgrading the ones we use ourselves, and we don't have nearly as many as the Kingdom. Poor Barb must be overrun with the things." she smirked proudly. "I'd be happy to give her hand with getting them all updated." she tapped a finger against her chin. "Although it might actually just be easier to purchase all new Scouters truthfully. But given the current state of things, with the war and you just taking the crown. I imagine the Royal Coffers aren't well-equipped for a purchase like that."
"Narissa!"
She slapped her hand against her mouth, eyes widening at the realization of what she'd just said. "Shit! I'm really sorry We've just been so casual this whole time it slipped out." she was going to need to turn her filter back on that was for sure. Narissa quickly went to work changing the subject. "Anyway...I can help Barb with Scouters obviously. But truth be told my expertise is more inclined towards training gear and robotics." she said with a nod of her head. "Back before my father sold me off, I was made all of his training equipment. Real high-class stuff too. So I may be of better use to you on that front." she finished.
Once again though, Kayen had said something that Scallio found rather interesting. He got the impression that it had been a mere slip of the tongue, however. That didn't stop him from commenting on it though. "You said multipile planets, but the Kingdom only has one. Vegeta." Scallio's curled into a ball and his arms folded against his chest. "You plan for the Saiyan Kingdom to return to how it was in the days of the SSE don't you? Conquering planets and expanding its reach." Scallio wasn't a master stargeties but he wasn't an idiot either. "A bold move are you sure it's one that those who follow you will support?" he paused before adding, "If that's you're plan of course." and he got the impression that it was.

“Complicated magic bullshit” Kayen said with a wave of her hand not feeling exceptionally eager to spread the knowledge of the Dragon Balls at the moment, perhaps down the road when she was more certain of Scallio’s loyalty though there would be nothing stopping him if he started digging on his own. “She’s working with Earth’s Guardian for the fix, she’s the one who knows the details” Kayen said with a shrug. Kayen grinned as Narissa followed up by proving she knew her stuff at least as far a Kayen understood, she spoke with the same sort of tone and confidence about technology that Barb possessed, she seemed to grow more comfortable as she spoke and even went so far as to inadvertently take a ‘shot’ at the Kingdom’s current status. “It’s fine, we’re in a recovering state so yes thing’s aren’t ideal at the moment. Too much money going in too many directions, and not enough of those directions lead back here, a lot of Barb’s work so far has also been based around the software of the Scouter’s rather than the hardware which is why much of it has been upgrades to existing devices, in time we’ll be aiming to start putting out new scouters but for now it’s better we focus on repairs and upgrades.“Having someone who’s more familiar with training equipment work would do us a lot of good, if I can find him there’s someone, an Android, I’d like you to take a look at, if you’re good with robotic’s you might be able to help alleviate some of his problems.” While he was a rare sight the Android would be a good addition to their ranks and an even better one if he was not plagued so much by his various mechanical ailments. Then came Scallio’s question, he’d picked up on her slip of the tongue and earning a grin from the Queen “I did, didn’t I?”“My plans don’t strictly rely on becoming a replica of what we once were, the Empire was strong but had its problems. We’ll become something better, something stronger.”

Scallio had made the choice to just nod his head and pretend as if he understood what Kayen was talking about. He had no idea what 'complicated magical bullshit' meant and he didn't really care to know either. At least, for the time being, it was obviously something above his head. Perhaps he would look into the details some later but for right now there were pressing issues. "Right...well best of luck to her in...whatever she's doing," he said with a nod of his head. Happy to move the conversation onto things that he was at least able to understand. That had been Scallio's hope but once again Narissa found herself thrust to the forefront of the conversation. Scallio forced to play the role of a silent bystander as she and Kayen talked shop.
"Software updates on older model scouters are always a hassle. You can really only get so far before the hardware itself starts to become the issue. I'll try my best to help her out when I can though." it certainly would get done faster with two competent people working on it. And from just going off the way that Kayen talked about her. Narissa figured that this Barb person had to be pretty skilled. All thoughts of Barb and scouters that Narissa had been having were quickly tossed out the window though. A far more exciting and challenging task had been presented to the Heran. And it came from a single word spoken by the Queen. Android. The one thing any self-respecting robotics engineer and scientist aspired to build. Narissa's mouth was on the verge of drooling at the chance to work on one.
"I did hear that right correct? You have an android you'd like me to work on? An honest to god android?" her voice oozed with excitement, "Shit, Kayen, you really know how to treat a girl. I may have to sleep with you." a joke but it wasn't something that was entirely untrue. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been able to get her hands on a piece of tech like that. And the piece of junk that Scallio called an android that was on the Crimson Apes ship didn't count. That thing barely worked even after Narissa got her hands on it. "Wait, you have to find it? How do you not know where you keep your androids?! That's so dangerous." she shook her head and placed her hands on her hips. "When you find it I'd be happy to take a look. No, in fact, I insist that you let me fix whatever is wrong with it." and then under her breath, she muttered, "And make some improvements." because she just wouldn't be able to resist.
"Better than the SSE?" Kayen had big intentions for the Sayain Kindom, and it seemed like Scallio was the first to really know about them. "That's ambitious...and dangerous." but it was also exciting and Scallio was eager to see how it all played out. Hell, he was eager to be a part of it. The whole thing was exhilarating the more he thought about it. It wasn't the idea of the SK expanding or the conquering of the planets that filled with excitement though. It was the thought of the role he would play in it all. That he and his Crimson Apes would play a part in shaping the fate of the universe. Writing history alongside Kayen and the Saiyan Kingdom as they grasp hold of the galaxy.
"I can't wait to help make it happen."

“Yes, to my understanding that’s part of what her current problems are, she’s been working on some creative ways to squeeze as much additional life out of the Scouter’s software potential as she can without needing hardware upgrades, for the moment we’re aiming on putting the actual hardware upgrades off until either we find a easier way to produce them, or it becomes more clear just how much stronger they will need to be to not just keep up with current power rates but also see us into the future. No sense putting out a new scouter only for someone to make a breakthrough in power and put us back at square one” Kayen said with a shrug, really the whole scouter debacle was a bit over her head, while she knew enough to discuss the plans in the broad strokes she really had VERY little understanding of the minutiae of the situation, her only real passion when it came to tech was with her ship. Kayen blinked a few times in confusion at Narissa’s sudden excitement over Galick, that had not quite been the reaction she had expected to get as it seemed that she was under the impression Androids were a rarity, while certainly someone of the caliber of Galick was not the same as say a maintenance droid, far from it from even the little bit she knew of him, it was still not THAT odd as far as she knew. “He’s somewhere in the castle probably, I’m pretty sure he’s a cyborg type, there's something fucked up with his voice box so he’s mostly stuck communicating through texts and writing.
